[00:00:12] [SPEAKER_01]: It's Wednesday, you know what time it is. Front Runner Podcast Collective is back on the air. I am your humble host Vince and basketball

[00:00:22] [SPEAKER_01]: off him. We're back. We have now media days, training camps that are opening up. We have a lot

[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_01]: more to talk about and I can't wait to talk to you all about what we have in store for

[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_01]: each day. Let's break that down. We're just going to go through some storylines. We're

[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_01]: the Western Conference today and we're also going to revisit our 2025 NBA Draft

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_01]: prospects, the top draft prospects. I'll give you a little primer to those guys what I'm

[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_01]: going to expect going into the year and what to look for early on to see if they've made

[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_01]: some adjustments that the scouts have maybe asked them to make. So that's what's on

[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_01]: staff for the podcast today. Before we get there, you know what we do. We talk about the

[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_01]: socials, right? X at Front Runner Podcast. So you know what we do. We talk about the socials

[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_01]: before we hit all our topics, right? So X at Front Runner PC and also our producers are at

[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Raya underscore Fudge FRPC make sure to start following us because as we get into the

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_01]: season, you're going to start seeing more and more things from podcasts, from the YouTube

[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_01]: page and also guy willing, the website. And we will continue to monitor a lot of the NBA

[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_01]: storylines that seem to have not really for lack of a better word, there seems to be some

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_01]: storylines that have been left finished grinding in grown and things of that nature. So we'll

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_01]: take a close tie or close eye on those type of things. The YouTube page at Front Runner podcast

[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_01]: collective, you make sure you are locked in with us the clips, the clips, you got to have those

[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_01]: because they are leading you into what we're going to while doing what just the predictions.

[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll be putting more clips up soon. And next whole day, as far as that's concerned, so keep it

[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_01]: locked here for that and then also be a friend telephoran about the podcast. The podcast needs

[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_01]: to grow. The only way it can grow is with you and we want to encourage more contact with us.

[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Please make sure that you chop it up with us on X or Twitter however you want to call it,

[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_01]: make sure that you're leaving comments on the YouTube page and then we will come back to you

[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_01]: as far as this concern because we want to have a backing for conversation not just me talking

[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_01]: to you about what's going on in the NBA. So with that being said, let's get to this podcast and

[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_01]: the first thing I want to say is that I just recently turned on 52. August 25th, Virgo Baby,

[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_01]: all of those type of things. Now with that being said, I can't tell you how flippin and

[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_01]: excited I am about this season. There's so many storylines, there's so many players that we want to see

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_01]: did they improve from last season? Did somebody's teams that changed their rosters,

[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_01]: did the improvements take place or are we going to see some of the the money that's been

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_01]: shaved off some of these rosters is going to start to erode the shyness on these teams. There's so many

[00:04:01] [SPEAKER_01]: storylines that we need to get to but I'm excited to start talking about them now.

[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_01]: And the first one that I want to get to is Steph. Now Steph is going into the year

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_01]: without Clay Thompson for the first time. Now we've talked about it extensively on this podcast

[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_01]: but now we're here and we're going to see it. And its different is different for him,

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_01]: it's different for the gold state warriors as a whole and we're starting to see the turn.

[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_01]: We're starting to see the turn from what we used to know the warriors as,

[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_01]: now the splash brothers, the gray mind playing out of his mind on defense and then sometimes actually

[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_01]: playing out of his mind. Then we had the little Kevin Durant era where that team was absolutely

[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_01]: ungulled unbeatable and now we have ventured into a new era and that era is age super star in Steph

[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Curry, his lieutenant in arms during my green and then a bunch of precocious second year in

[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_01]: players and a couple of established events to kind of have Steph lean on. What do we think about

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_01]: all those type of things? The first thing that we have to think about is how does Steve Curry

[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_01]: look at his team and does he decide to go a different route? Does he decide to play a different

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_01]: type of basketball? Now Brandon Pongzisky we did say in PODs previous and also with just looking

[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_01]: at the tape he looks like a guy that actually fits the gold state warrior system. Like I want to

[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_01]: move around, pass the ball, I don't need to pound it all the time and I can go ahead and

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_01]: if there's a good shot I'll pass it up for a great shot. We still have Andrew Wiggins on the team

[00:06:17] [SPEAKER_01]: and we still have and we still have Jonathan coming on the team. Those guys are more gunners.

[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Those are the guys who are going to be looking for their shot no matter what. If it's open,

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_01]: let's go ahead and let it fly. We shall see. And then down the road in L'Alan.

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_01]: We have LeBron James, who is now also in the latter stages of his career. His son has joined the team.

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Don, connect his join the team. Oh and there's a podcaster that has gone from

[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_01]: former NBA player to media like conglomerate, put great podcasts together, went to work for ESPN

[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_01]: and now is the head coach of Los Angeles Lakers, JJ Reddy. So you got all this going on.

[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_01]: No real improvements to the team outside, right? There weren't any free agent moves made and things

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_01]: of that nature. They're banging on continuity. They're banking on that gave Vincent Dean give them

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_01]: anything last year. They're banking on that jar of Vanderbilt gave them very little last year

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_01]: more improvement from Max Christie who is supposed to have a role this year, more improvement

[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_01]: from Austin Reeves, who is going to take on a bigger role and how does that fit with one

[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_01]: D&L Russell. These are all questions that we got to ask and then get answered the only way we

[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_01]: get those these answers is media day and also when the game starts. Now JJ Reddy

[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_01]: did bring up a point on Zach Lowe's podcast that I want to bring up. He does have a starting

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_01]: up. This start line up is Anthony Davis, LeBron James, Rory Hachimora,

[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_01]: D&L Russell and Austin Reeves. He also said in that podcast that he finds it to be

[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_01]: going to be more advantageous for LeBron James and not to bring up the ball up the court.

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_01]: So that means more ball handling duties for Austin Reeves and more ball handling duties for

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_01]: the Angela Russell. Now I'm going to make this point right now to the Angela Russell.

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_01]: You having the ball in your hands does not mean that you need to start taking shots at 19 seconds

[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_01]: left on the shot clock from what JJ did say also in that podcast, which he said he would

[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_01]: use the last one that he would do for quite some time. I found it to be funny. But what he did say is

[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_01]: he thought that this is how he could preserve LeBron James, that they will run more set

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_01]: offense, more plays, more design stuff instead of just coming down hey everybody getting into a

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_01]: more position and basically what horns position is or Spain picking road. You have the two

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_01]: bigs look at the top of the key, the guard or the wing who has the ball in his hands would then

[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_01]: be able to choose which big or which on bigger wing that he would go hit and utilize to pick

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_01]: a road to see where we had the offensive advantage as far as this concern and then that's how the

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_01]: buttering with the offense you saw a lot of like spurts where they would go three, four,

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_01]: five minutes without scoring a bucket and JJ is trying to avoid that at all costs and he says

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_01]: that by running more set actions he can avoid those type of situations. So we have our primary

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_01]: two these situations. Now let's get into all of this LeBron James 39 years old he will be 40

[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_01]: at the end of this year. I don't care he averaged 29, 8 and 6 he's just a beast but this team

[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if his play already we haven't got to our predictions yet I'm still

[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_01]: marinating on what I am going to predict for the Western Conference and Eastern Conference

[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_01]: but as we get closer to the starter season we'll tell you when that prediction show will happen

[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_01]: what I do know about LeBron James is this. Is that LeBron James is going to be the most prepared

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_01]: NBA player that he can possibly be? Well we have to worry about his son that much I don't know

[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think so I think he'll be developing with the South Bay leaders will we see them both on

[00:11:31] [SPEAKER_01]: court? I think there is a desire to do that I think that what you have to understand about the

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Los Angeles Lakers is that it has not only been about winning championships it's about creating events

[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_01]: creating moments creating excitement and having LeBron James and LeBron James Jr on the same court

[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_01]: at the same time is a monumental moment so you can talk about whether he deserves it or not

[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_01]: you can talk about whether he skipped the line you can talk about his talent

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_01]: you can talk about all of these things what I think into the day when it does happen

[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_01]: it will be an event. It seems like from what the tea leaves are saying they might get that out of

[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_01]: early I don't know if it'll be open in night I don't know if it'll be game five

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_01]: but I would think within the first 10 games of the season that gets that little box gets checked

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_01]: by the Lakers and then we can move on with the rest of the season. Now here's the deal with LeBron

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_01]: the defense they ranked 20th in the league post all star great they'll need more from

[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Dilo and Reeves now here's the thing that's the back court so we know that defensively that's a

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_01]: shaky back court how do they miss and match Austin Reeves with Max Christie and or gave Vincent

[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_01]: those rotations will be very important to what this team is inevitably going to end up

[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_01]: being able to do the other thing is this just because this team this particular five starts

[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_01]: the game doesn't mean they necessarily end the game because he did not give us his closing line

[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_01]: kept that close to the vest so I'll be looking in these preseason games

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_01]: the ones that they care about maybe the end of the first quarter gives us some indication

[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_01]: of what maybe the closing line of look we shall see Eric Pink is recently highlighting

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Glitra Rapport how LeBron and Lakers have a narrow window saying for the Lakers it's all about

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_01]: maximizing LeBron's final years and that means surrounding him with the right role players

[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_01]: to compliment his skill set and take pressure off his aging body we just talked about that one of

[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_01]: the main things that they're going to try to do is guild ball to Austin and in a sense

[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_01]: maybe they're trying to make Austin the third co-star to LeBron and if I was

[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Austin I would deflect that situation totally his job is to bring the ball up the court

[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_01]: get them into the set and then or give the months of ball is up the court give it to LeBron

[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_01]: we're going to take tread off LeBron that way now you also have the Angela Russell

[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_01]: those two will have to balance out who brings ball up what's the duties looking like things

[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_01]: of that nature we will see but there's a lot going on there and DeLo unfortunately is the most

[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_01]: volatile the group and we just don't know if we get good DeLo this has a chance to be really

[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_01]: special if we get bad DeLo 44 wins might be hard to come by then you got stuff

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_01]: who have a 30.6 points again last year it's still making it all look like

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_01]: just effortless or as my guy can you Smith let's say Steffertless now what we're

[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_01]: claiming gone but all the word is going to look like the word is going to look a little good

[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_01]: here's the one thing that we do know Steff gravity on offense has never changed and it's

[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_01]: still unmatched by anybody in the NBA there's nobody more that you fear from 40 feet and

[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_02]: then still correct he could run his paving role from 37 feet and it's a good shot

[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_02]: it's a good shot because of Steff and he's the greatest shooter of all type any questions

[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_01]: any comments to that at front runner pot at front runner PC our guy is at globe

[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_01]: chimed in with this stuff is in that phase where the warriors have to be smart you can't just throw

[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_01]: him out out there without the right pieces around him this roster I don't know it's enough to keep

[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_01]: him if it's enough to keep him real content here's the thing we we talked about it on

[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_01]: part earlier I think they did as I think their job in the all season was as good as you could

[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_01]: possibly do giving the parameters of what you had to work with you it did a getting the

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Angelot Melton who is a point of attack defender so that means Steff doesn't have to do it

[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_01]: keep one because guess what Steff had to do that low key stuff has had to do that the last couple

[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_01]: years because Gary Peyton Jr never got healthy Clay Thompson unfortunately when he came back

[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_01]: off the Achilles and the ACL tier was not the defender that he was when he left and the guards

[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_01]: that they tried to shout out there to do it to help Steff weren't capable the Angelot Melton

[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_01]: is capable now you want to talk about shooting the Angelot Melton is a career like 39% 3.0

[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_01]: you're not impressed okay I submit to you buddy heel who is a career 42.5% shooter okay so

[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_01]: then they get buddy heel is to replace the shooting that Clay Thompson was basically too

[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_01]: offered for the Golden State Warriors now if he's offering the Clay Thompson 3.0 shooting

[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_01]: of O then this topic is still mute but we have to talk about the Clay Thompson we saw the last

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_01]: couple years and we have to be really realistic what it was and this Clay hatch stretches where

[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_01]: there were droughts this Clay hatch stretches where we would go 5 of 30 then he'll have a good shooting

[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_01]: then we would have four more games of not great now did he shoot a decent 3.8%

[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_01]: each for him yeah it was like close to 40% but the problem was it wasn't as consistent as it used to

[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_01]: be and at least with buddy heel you're getting close to 40% 3.1 shooting at high volume 3.0

[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_01]: feel goal attempts and that's every single night so you're gonna have some nights where 3.8

[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_01]: you're gonna have some nights where it's 2.3 you're gonna have some nights where it's 5.3 but the main

[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_01]: number is 8 he's taking at least 8 threes again and that brings a dynamic to the Golden State

[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Warriors they sorely lacked when Clay was not confident and or trying to find his way back

[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_01]: into that system and then the third piece of this is the high piece and we've talked about this

[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_01]: is Kyle Anderson. Kyle Anderson came over from the Minnesota Timberwolf he's six foot nine

[00:20:27] [SPEAKER_01]: he's a ball handler he's a distributor he is a offensive mover meaning that you're not going to be

[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_01]: bogged down with him with the ball he's a pretty astute defender for somebody who lacks lateral

[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_01]: quickness and what have you he uses the angles very well and he's a cerebral basketball player.

[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh if you're talking about what Golden State is I think they might actually be a little bit more

[00:20:58] [SPEAKER_01]: dynamic than what they were previously we shall see you got to see it all play on the court and here's

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_01]: the other thing if it doesn't work out drain mine and I can go ahead and start a podcast together

[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_01]: like drain mine and I know I can be his Adam left co. Oh my shack has Adam I can be Adam left co for

[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_01]: drain mine. And I'll say yeah so I think this is all the win win.

[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_01]: drain mine. I'm looking out for your future my guy I love you go ahead be crazy

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_01]: please don't punch nobody in the nuts this year try not to get suspended that would be helpful

[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_01]: all right can we exnate on the violence a all right let's get to John Morant real quick.

[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Josh's back. Josh is healthy. Josh is full of a bunch of he's worked out

[00:22:07] [SPEAKER_01]: he's in the best shape of his life the mentality to come back is that he's gonna

[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_01]: he's gonna tune out all the noise it's all the stuff that's all the stuff that you hear

[00:22:22] [SPEAKER_01]: before the season starts it's all the stuff that you can hear before the season starts.

[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_01]: He's been quote for an NBA executive about John Morant he's electric but one one slip up

[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_01]: and the Grizzlies are looking for a different future that's the co reality of what we're looking at right now

[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I do not doubt that John Morant's talents or immense. I do not doubt that the guy

[00:22:53] [SPEAKER_01]: that we've been missing sorely from the NBA and the electrifying presence that he brings

[00:23:01] [SPEAKER_02]: is it's not like we can just replace it but has put himself in these positions

[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_01]: because here's the thing he can get off to a great start. If there's any off-the-court situations

[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_01]: that pop up I'm pretty sure that the Grizzlies are gonna be out and my hope is that

[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_01]: with basically two years ago removed from all the allegations and situations that popped up on the

[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_01]: and then with the injury that he had that he's been able to just go ahead and reevaluate

[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_01]: and make better decisions about life, about who he wants to be in the NBA because here's the thing.

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_01]: John Morant was Anthony Edwards before Anthony Edwards and I mean that like not in a

[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_01]: risk-acquil tone. I mean that in the way of we were looking at John Morant. Yo this is the dude

[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_01]: this is the next American dude that's gonna lead us to the promised land. This is our next

[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Iverson, this is our next Jordan, this is our representative. We love the passion he played

[00:24:25] [SPEAKER_01]: with, we love the swag, we love the intensity, we love the fearlessness and all that but that

[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_01]: vital nonsense, off the court needs to stop and I hope that also he's learned how to slow down

[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_01]: a little bit offensively and be a little bit smarter about his attacks towards the basket.

[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I think if he has gained those two things we're all for big year in Memphis, a big year in Memphis.

[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Now the last thing that I want to bring up as far as like the Western Conference is concerned because

[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_01]: man I wish that we had the money to put the drop of the song by digital underground, same song

[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_01]: in here right now. I really do. Because we're about to talk about the Los Angeles Clippers

[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_01]: and Coiliner. It's happening again, it's happening again, knee-sourness, unavailable,

[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_01]: no timeframe. They signed him to a extension to open this new building right? This is the building

[00:25:58] [SPEAKER_01]: that Steve Baumarkbill, it's beautiful. It has acoustic differences in it that should provide

[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_01]: the Clippers with this home-filled advantage that they've never had in their entire

[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_01]: being on the West Coast because they've always either been in the sports arena which is now gone.

[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_01]: It's usually over by USC and then they play with the Lakers at Staples which is now crypto.

[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_01]: So the into a dome is built, they started to tour it. There's been a couple of vents there so far

[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_01]: all the reviews are immaculate. The toilet's work which Baumarkbill was really excited but

[00:26:57] [SPEAKER_01]: here we go again, the phrase or the verbage that we have heard since Coiliner

[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_01]: stepped on the court with the Clippers. We are going here again, knee-sourness,

[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_02]: out indefinitely no time table. So you built this building thinking you're gonna have Coiliner,

[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Paul George, and James Hart. Paul George is in Philadelphia,

[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Coiliner, Leonard is in parts of no and you got James Hart and a myriad of strip clubs right

[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_01]: around the into a dome. This seems like an absolute recipe for success. This I cannot wait for

[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_01]: this clip or season. This is the most clipper thing that could happen and I will say it again

[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_01]: and I will continue to say it and I will continue to say it. Thank God Jerry West,

[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_02]: West and Peace does not have to watch this, this abomination. Thank God

[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_01]: he doesn't have to sit here and watch Coiliner tell the Clippers,

[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_01]: hey I'm gonna go to a place you can't know where I'm going and yeah I don't know how long

[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna be there but when I get back I'll let you know okay all right cool see you later again

[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_01]: kids out there you don't know the song I was talking about digital underground, YouTube,

[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_01]: it digital underground same song, Rest in Peace, R&P our God Siopatch Core he also has a feature on

[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_01]: that song is dope but this is the Clippers every single damn year. Now so I'm right on the clip

[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_01]: but you know what y'all shouldn't be in in my city I told y'all that tell John I'll do

[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_01]: we in the city. Just go to Teohan and just go away. All right let's go ahead and get to the

[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_01]: the NBA draft class okay we are now going to reintegrate you into the draft class that we are

[00:29:47] [SPEAKER_01]: excited about this going on next June right of course we're gonna start with Coor Flag now Coor Flag

[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_01]: is a kid that is about to run college basketball you're gonna see Jay Billis talk excessively

[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_01]: about this man if our guy Dicky V can get the cancer in remission he is going to absolutely

[00:30:12] [SPEAKER_01]: explode a Coor Flag and anybody else that does college basketball I'm sure the guys don't see

[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_01]: do it on Saturdays it's just gonna be absolutely in love with this kid he's going to be

[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_01]: on your television screen a lot so just bear with that okay he's six foot nine he's a lead on

[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_01]: both ends a 16.5 points per game a 7.6 regal is a game in high school he's just getting started

[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_01]: the scouts love is motor they love his defensive versatility our guy Jonathan was from in

[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Texas and he said he could be the best to wait player that has come out in years so he is a just

[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_01]: a student shot blocker like he's not just one of these guys it just goes up and jumps up for

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_01]: every last thing no there is there's a purpose in an intentionality to his blocking shots but

[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_01]: he absolutely loves it he's wanted his favorite parts of his game I'll just let you know right now

[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_01]: you're gonna love the effort you're gonna love the intensity but he does play for Duke

[00:31:35] [SPEAKER_01]: he is white so there's gonna be a portion of the people who listen to this blockass who are

[00:31:42] [SPEAKER_01]: not like this kid it's not because he's not good it's just because he's going to do and he's white

[00:31:49] [SPEAKER_01]: so it happens we know we understand we gotta get over our racial biases though

[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_01]: because the two these awesome he's sick anytime that you can go to the illiquity workouts

[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_01]: and like the scouts are like okay yep there's LeBron still in the ball he's

[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_01]: damn near 40 years old and he is just coasting by people left and right who is so closely

[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_01]: faster than he is and dunking on people you're impressed by that but when NBS scouts are telling

[00:32:27] [SPEAKER_01]: me that oh no he's holding his own here he is not just being okay he's here and in no whatever

[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_01]: oh no like people are not liking that he is digging them up they give you just a little picture

[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_01]: into what you're about to see with this kid here's a quote from Ronnie Flores from balladslife.com

[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_01]: flat transition to Mount Verde to Duke could be what when by Yama was to France

[00:33:07] [SPEAKER_01]: dominance at every level again he held his own in the illiquit workouts

[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_01]: that should give you just a precursor to what we are about to see

[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_01]: at Duke now let's move on to areas ace Bailey we love this kid we love this kid

[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_01]: here's another guy that can go out and be the number one overall selection I told you there's

[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_01]: there's a lot of them this year he's got the size he's got the offensive package and Rutgers

[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_01]: that's day school in New Jersey has him he's 16 he's drawing comparisons to KD his ability to

[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_01]: create off the dribble at his size has scouts intrigued but they want to see more of his playmaking

[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_01]: our god Jonathan Kavoni steps up what this is says that Bailey could challenge flag

[00:34:08] [SPEAKER_01]: but he'll need to show more consistency as a facilitator what we saw on the tape

[00:34:16] [SPEAKER_01]: doing the summer sessions in the AAU circuit and all around with ace Bailey is that

[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_01]: he's a physical specimen no doubt he will be able to have in fact on the game on both sides of

[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_01]: school he is a right now I see the I see the offensive game I see it but it's not it's not natural

[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_01]: it's not organic I see that the mind is thinking and then the body is too quick for what

[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_01]: the mind is like okay cool I got it and it just gone before we got all the instructions

[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_01]: now that could be a pasting now that could be something that could be worked out once he's

[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_01]: at Duke and he's with that coaching staff and they start to see what he really is really good at

[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_01]: and what some of the deficiencies are and start shaving off some of the rough edges

[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_01]: or it could be that you know he's a two dribble guy and he's one of those guys that could because

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_01]: he's so tall he'll be able to do dribble with his link get into the lane and still kick it out

[00:35:34] [SPEAKER_01]: to the ogong shooters or a diving big man from the dunker squad so these are still things that

[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_01]: could be worked out with ace Bailey what's the talent is immense the kids work ethic is really good

[00:35:49] [SPEAKER_01]: and I just wish he wouldn't have went to Rutgers go haul see and haul she and she ain't

[00:35:57] [SPEAKER_01]: all the way you might do you know that I get down for seat and haul that's where I went so therefore

[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll steal with the haul even though I think ace Bailey's gonna be cool okay let's talk about

[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_01]: two more guys I'm gonna go ahead and talk about the guy that is going to team with ace Bailey

[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Dylan Harper now Dylan Harper is the son over on Harper and if you're going hey that

[00:36:33] [SPEAKER_01]: name sounds familiar where did I hear that name from first of all if you're a lacquer fan he wanted

[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_01]: a couple championships with Kobe and you got a little hold on did Robert play with the Cleveland

[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Cavaliers and then was there a point where and kids on Toronto you go back in YouTube and watch

[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_01]: there was a point before the knee injury Rahafer was starting to be compared to that due

[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_01]: in Chicago with the two three now I don't think he was ever going to get there but there were hey hold on

[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_01]: hey hey and if you go back and look at some of those games between the Cleveland Cavaliers

[00:37:19] [SPEAKER_01]: and Chicago at that point in time then there's excellent games and his son is here now

[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_01]: his son has also decided to go to the state school of New Jersey Rutgers

[00:37:31] [SPEAKER_01]: and he will be teaming with ace Bailey and here's the one thing that we know he is

[00:37:40] [SPEAKER_01]: a NBA no he's an NBA kid he grew up in locker rooms so his basketball IQ already off the

[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_01]: charts the one thing that I've seen with Dylan Harper that has really impressed me his ability to

[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_01]: initiate or manipulate defenses to get people open is one of the coolest little skills that I've seen

[00:38:10] [SPEAKER_01]: from a young guy and quite some time he's all about making his teammates better he can shoot it

[00:38:19] [SPEAKER_01]: he has a prerequisite size to be he's NBA ready in the sense of his size and what how you

[00:38:25] [SPEAKER_01]: use his protocol the one thing that I do want to see is I want to see just more smoothness on

[00:38:31] [SPEAKER_01]: the jump shot but we are still talking about 18 year old kids so keep in mind when we are talking

[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_01]: about these kids and then when they enter the draft next year the development continues

[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_01]: yes we want to see these kids get off the hot starts and we'll have you but if

[00:38:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Dylan Harper shoots 32% 3.8% of percentage in college it's not going to deter what I think about

[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_01]: the kid it's that he needs to work on consistency of where he goes up into his jump shot

[00:39:12] [SPEAKER_01]: is his arm placed correctly and then also the other thing is and this is something that takes time

[00:39:24] [SPEAKER_01]: the quick release of the jump shot needs to come and I'll say you can't sit around like a half a second

[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_01]: okay I got the boss lay stuff now I'm going ahead and shoot it you can't do that so these are

[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_01]: things that he can work on what he's in a missed talent he's playing with another a missed talent

[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I think workers is going to be awesome to watch and they're also in the big tin where my other

[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_01]: well the school I wanted to go to UCLA big UCLA proponent here they're going to play

[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_01]: they're going to play I can't wait to watch UCLA and workers just try to kill each other

[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I cannot wait because McCron in his head is going to explode off his neck

[00:40:11] [SPEAKER_01]: as soon as one of the UCLA guys turns to ball over one time it's going to be great I can't wait to

[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_01]: watch it now the next guy that we need to get to before we wrap up and I say we're going to give you

[00:40:25] [SPEAKER_01]: just a palette cleanser and kind of just say hey let's reintroduce you to some of this drop class

[00:40:33] [SPEAKER_01]: the last guy that I want to leave you with tonight before you lay your little his down on your pillow

[00:40:40] [SPEAKER_01]: is V Vijay Edge cone V Vijay Edge cone is one of the best athletes not just in this class but in

[00:40:52] [SPEAKER_01]: any class in the last five years all right like six foot five six foot six jumps out the

[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_01]: building he's at absolute just highlight machine and we're going to see him on score center a lot this

[00:41:10] [SPEAKER_01]: year he's going to be all over everybody's YouTube I know that he will trend on IG and X for embarrassing

[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_01]: multiple people this year I know this will happen because the bounce is real and shout out to

[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_02]: NXT the young OG Jamar Evans just like Jamar Evans V Vijay Edge cone is bound C

[00:41:52] [SPEAKER_01]: is going to be crazy the jump shot is a working progress the offensive creation for others as

[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_01]: a working process his ability to get his own bucket not a problem his ability to play defense

[00:42:10] [SPEAKER_01]: either wrong or play on on ball not really an issue whatsoever V Vijay Edge cone is going to be

[00:42:20] [SPEAKER_01]: one of those kids that we are going to be watching closely as we enter into I can't believe we're

[00:42:31] [SPEAKER_01]: out to say it but I did see reports of midnight madness out there Kentucky's going to hold one

[00:42:41] [SPEAKER_01]: oh Duke got one Gonzaga are they going on hold one oh and by the way is Gonzaga about to go through

[00:42:50] [SPEAKER_01]: the practice well or the practice or the practice seven I don't know what they're going to be

[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_01]: but there is a rumor out there that more few might want to join the X conference of champions

[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_01]: formerly known as the Pact 12 we'll see about all that they got a good gig with the west coast

[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_01]: conference but maybe they want to step up maybe they see a better TV deal type of situation

[00:43:23] [SPEAKER_01]: but Gonzaga finds this way on ESPN no matter what so it doesn't matter whether they're in the

[00:43:30] [SPEAKER_01]: west coast conference or the I don't know what you want to call it the Pact 12 2.0 I don't know

[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_01]: whatever but we should see with all of that so with all that being said we talked about some

[00:43:46] [SPEAKER_01]: of the west story lines that are going on we didn't get to Victor when by yama trust me we will get

[00:43:51] [SPEAKER_02]: to him there's going to be a lot of Victor when we now when we then when we future together all of it

[00:44:07] [SPEAKER_01]: the whole deal so I want to thank the producers I want to thank bunch of funds and syraha for

[00:44:15] [SPEAKER_01]: helping me put this podcast together without them there is no front run of podcast collective

[00:44:20] [SPEAKER_01]: let me tell you and then the other thing is this we are going to have some fun this year and I just

[00:44:30] [SPEAKER_01]: so grateful to the audience who have grown itself basically and I just want to let you know that
