[00:00:00] Hoop Brothers and Sisters, rejoice, it is on your host Vince and we are here to break

[00:00:17] down a spicy trade that happened in the NBA.

[00:00:21] But before we get to that, if you are not following actual podcast. So there's still more information to be had as we go through the trade because the trade deadline has officially begun and it has begun early, which we actually said on a previous pod

[00:01:42] that it would go early.

[00:01:44] So where are we?

[00:01:47] What has happened? winged up in former champion Bruce Brown, Jordan Noire, and Kara Lewis.ki of ESPN reported that there were talks being had. And we bench, get into that a little bit. But all in all, here is a guy who is a former All-Star with some playoff pedigree and it's a great trait. So there's a lot of pieces to it. So let's get into it. What does this mean for the Pacers? With

[00:05:43] Pascal Siyakam, this gives Tyrese Hallebert and a true number two running mate and some can be that can be said with this is this is that at some point you knew Rick Kyle Lyle was going to address the defense and now he has because know where the outlet is and to have a six foot nine six foot 10 Siakom who can create his own shot or create a shot for somebody else.

[00:09:25] at the top of the scoring food chain for the Indiana Pacers. Now you have Miles Turner in a very comfortable third role.

[00:09:30] So if it's 15 points or 20 points or if he goes off and gets into the high 20s or whatever the case may be,

[00:09:42] it's okay.

[00:09:44] You're not looking now for consistent 16 to 20 points. So you can get that third role almost up to 20 combined with the explosive nature of

[00:11:05] Tyrese Halliburton and Rick Harlewell did.

[00:12:20] Ovi Tophan was a part of this deal at one point. Listen, he's please play well. Okay. I'm not this is no shade on obie talkin But I just think they like the spark. I think what they they like him You know they like him as a proscrad And I think it's funny that they said, you know what we don't want to get rid of him. So what are we gonna do? They went to the cash trap New Orleans pelicans and said hey listen we see that you're kind of over the cap here

[00:13:46] I know you're not playing your guy

[00:14:50] of the world and in that first round pig that really hasn't played. It seems like there's another consolidation available to the Pacers if they want it. Whether it's

[00:14:57] to go out and fill another hole that they have that they're trying to piece in this podcast space where we're like what are you doing? And the one thing that I want to talk about in this deal is the three first round picks. Now, there is no shade in this because I'm gonna tell you right now, I think it's absolutely ridiculous that

[00:16:22] Massiah Jerry got three first round picks

[00:16:25] for Pascal Siakom.

[00:17:29] Another year on his contract and already a all-star Pascal Siakam. Could he have got into the five or six first round draft pick range for Siakam last year?

[00:17:38] It's a question that I'm going to have because cohesiveness to the offense that you are probably used to have him with Pascal but in a different way because you're not going to need and the Pascal Siakum trade, Bruce Brown is a tremendous fit for any team that can that fancies themselves as a contender

[00:21:24] was brown, let's move on to the others. Okay, in Jordan, Noire, you get a 25 year old

[00:21:30] who really hasn't never put it all together.

[00:21:34] He hasn't put it together consistently

[00:21:36] to garner any kind of minutes.

[00:21:38] He hasn't even been able to really break into

[00:21:41] a backup rotational spot as of yet.

[00:22:45] 7 million because that was the actual amount of his contract

[00:22:47] which The Pacers didn't necessarily want to trade Oge talkin who was making the same amount of money

[00:22:52] Who would have made this deal work right?

[00:22:55] So Gare Lewis has had a real up-and-down career so far. He's still very young 22 years of age

[00:23:03] He's just had a injury

[00:24:07] this is I'm not saying he'll get to that potential I'm saying that if it could all come together it's Colin Sexton that's not a bad place to be if you're looking

[00:24:16] to move on from one of your like your backup bench guys so I don't know we'll

[00:24:24] see what Carol Lewis we just see what we can do do them any favors anyway. Jordan Hawkins has has emerged for them. You got Jose Avarado who plays an important role for them. CJ McCollum plays an important role for them. Dyson Daniels plays an important role for them. There was no space for Kara Lewis Jr. at this point and this point only. There's been a lot of speculation around the Lakers and DeGente Murray. So you go, go figure, Vince wants to talk about the Lakers. That's right. My podcast and I like the Lakers and we're going to talk about them.

[00:28:20] So with that being said, it just kind of connects his own seeing all these people. But at the end of the day, when you tie the Laker name to somebody in a trade rumor, their value goes up. Oh, the Lakers are involved. Oh, why are they involved?

[00:31:01] Should we be involved?

[00:31:03] And hold on.

[00:31:05] Maybe we should be involved. Again, massive trade in the NBA, Pascal Siakum is a Indiana Pacers. I couldn't be more happy for a franchise, by the way, to see them actually try to go forward and get up into that upper echelon playoff mix. And I can't wait to see what they do with the next three weeks before the trade deadline.
