[00:00:00] Hey, it's Tuesday and it's your boy Vince and we are here to talk about some hoops and give you a couple updates on what to expect in the coming days here on FRPC. Again, my name is Vince.

[00:00:52] We're going to have some house cleaning notes in regards to what's going on with the pot and all that sort of thing. Well, you know, we talked about it. We talked about there were going to be a couple changes or whatever and those changes are coming very shortly.

[00:01:13] Dang blive burn. I talked about them. I believe last part in regards to here will be coming in. He will be another co-host. He's from Australia. He's going to have some really cool opinions about basketball, about trades, about valuing people and things that that nature.

[00:01:34] And I look forward to those conversations and also the Canadian bomber is going to be making his return in December. Nico, me a tellow will be back. So we will have the gang together and what's going to end up happening is that

[00:01:52] we are going to have at least two miles away. And I'm not going to promise more right now. I think there could be more but right now we're going to promise two miles away. One will be solo and then we will alternate weeks with Nico and Dan

[00:02:11] and then we will be back to the next week. And I think it'll be a good situation for everybody involved. You can hear your voices. I think the first and foremost thing is that we're going to all do one together.

[00:02:26] And we're just trying to coordinate times and schedules to allow that to happen but bear with us, we have gone through some change and now we're coming out the other end of it and I feel pretty good about it in the rest of the staff does as well.

[00:02:44] We have been talking about basketball and let's go ahead and do so. There are so many things going on in the league right now. There's a couple things that I really want to focus in on.

[00:02:56] And the first thing that I want to focus on is something that I said in the preseason or in the offseason and when I said it, I think a lot of people thought, oh well Vince you're doing this

[00:03:10] for clicks you're doing this because you don't like the likeers you're doing this because you got some sort of indetta or whatever. Here's a deal. It's not even about getting right what this is

[00:03:26] when you have somebody who was about to be 39 years of age and he is also he's absolutely outstanding. We're seeing things every single time LeBron James steps on a court. We're just seeing history. We're seeing amazing things from somebody at that age,

[00:03:46] truth plate. That many minutes, that many playoff minutes it's absolutely unreal what we're getting from LeBron. There's a ceiling to LeBron and AD and I'm going to take LeBron's back to a day that depending on how old you are you'll remember this.

[00:04:11] There was a point in time when the LeBron was so dominant and this is like in the Shacky Colby days and even before that this is like magic days but there were teams that were good right

[00:04:25] we had you know the Portland Trailblazers we had the Sacramento Kings we had other teams that would rise up but you knew that the talent you had as far as your top two or

[00:04:45] whatever was better than theirs. Maybe it wasn't even that the talent was better maybe they were they thought the game threw more. What they're seeing to be a control level, even when the leaders look like they were kind of bothered and we even,

[00:05:04] to seem to be like a control level of okay we can you could stay like here but if it's closer we don't have to really put our foot down right and I know this probably terrible

[00:05:19] tire will podcasting and trying to paint it picture for you but I'm doing a very best I can but what I'm trying to say is that the leaders do not have that they are not that championship

[00:05:30] caliber team that can just stay off heavy pursuit from you know up and coming team on a nightly basis. They need to have like all hands on deck they all need to be playing at an

[00:05:44] optimum level for them to play well. And unfortunately LeBron's greatness kind of reminds me of a really old movie that I saw back in the day it was called Flash Gordon and at the end of Flash

[00:06:05] Gordon, me and the Marcellus was trying to control Flash he had this ring that basically had my control but his power of fading so it didn't have the control on Flash that he

[00:06:22] issued it right because he was dying and he was getting old whatever case and be flashed to feed him right. So and that's how I kind of look at the legers they're good enough to win games

[00:06:37] they're definitely going to be over 500 this year I believe but they're not good enough to go on like streaks of we're gonna win the next 12 out of 14 it doesn't matter who we're playing whether

[00:06:52] it's you know Cleveland this person disdain this team we're just we need to put the stress together where we you know put some distance between us and whomever you know play opposition and go

[00:07:05] they don't have that in the tank now that is not something in reserve that they can go draw on at any point in time they just they just don't have it. And I said something in the in the

[00:07:20] off season in regards to Plinka under LaBron James knows that under LaBron James knows his kind of rebuilt this team and provided team with a bunch of assets and all of this and I still believe

[00:07:36] this to be true you know mass Christy is playing better you know awesome rees we see we haven't seen the best of him this year but I think his legs might be tired from the international play

[00:07:50] so I think what what the Lakers have as far as the young talent and it's as they continue to build with that young talent and make true trades that continue to build up this depth

[00:08:06] you're sitting in a right for the next superstar I just say right now we're that team that if everything breaks right we can probably get to a Western Conference finals

[00:08:18] but I think that might be our ceiling and we used to look at the Phoenix signs and laugh at them back in the day I'll look at that gritty little team and they just you know they just can't

[00:08:30] get over the huh and you know they were play off fodder for the Lakers. Well we are now the play off fodder for other teams now you can look at that and go while I don't agree with you then to

[00:08:45] over or that seems harsh or whatever it is your you know whatever you think the magnitude of this thought is I just don't see it I think maybe once they get the depth back it'll look a lot better

[00:09:07] but I don't see this like really Uber talented when our mind is right we can be anyone in the league we have that kind of swagger to do so everything is difficult you know they put they don't

[00:09:32] put teams away very easily and they're getting blown out by teams and listen Philadelphia shot the lights out yesterday so there's no shame in losing the Philadelphia the shame is is that when you don't summon the effort and you're getting blown out like the use of rockets

[00:09:55] and all get the rockets have played absolutely phenomenally this year this is a problem for the Lakers and I think that is where we are with them so again no shade against the Lakers no shade

[00:10:10] against LeBron James but we are at a point where they're not a real contender and I think if we get to that point where we know that and we understand that this is where we are as a

[00:10:25] Laker fandom or whatever it case me be I think will be better off let's move along to a team that that's been taken is lumped slightly but also we kind of saw it coming the sentence tell me of squares

[00:10:44] I talked to Adam last part of not going to stick to it too much but I seen on Twitter where people are going crazy about you know on the orthodox offense and all of these type of things and we

[00:11:00] had talked about it on last part but there's one of the one thing that I do want to bring up we need to get the ball to Victor one by Yamaha and you say well Vince this is a lot easier

[00:11:14] if there was a point guard well you tell me how many true point guards we got in the lead okay there's just stretches of the quarters where Vince Victor went by Yamaha is not touching

[00:11:28] well for three to four minutes that can't happen that just cannot happen not just because of the fact that they're not a good team and he's a good player but that is the star that you are trying

[00:11:44] to build that is the star that you're trying to create into one of the most dominant pieces that this league has ever seen and I'm not allowing him to get the ball for six positions

[00:12:03] you know in a row down the court makes no sense whatsoever my man should not be getting cardio in you know just making sure his legs is good in any game he plays it right

[00:12:22] so before there's some sort of injury he can't play or god willing and he plays off season let's just make a concert of effort to get win by Yamaha the basketball a little bit more

[00:12:36] think he should be averaging somewhere in like 17 to 20 shots a game well the Orlando Magic had been playing excellent basketball a couple of the things I want to bring up to is not just Orlando playing excellent basketball but there's it looks like there's a little shift

[00:13:05] and I think it was something that we can kind of saw you know last year a little bit there's going to be some teams that take this this regular season real serious and there's going to be

[00:13:17] some teams that are just kind of figuring themselves out and then kind of get themselves into you know play off ready meant by the time it's all it's go time but with the Magic right now being a 12

[00:13:31] and 5 beaten Boston they look great they're out efforting people right now but if you ask me what Orlando does well do they execute in a half court well no are they like a tremendous offensive

[00:13:54] regal routine okay are they a lockdown defender team not quite oh well they must be just you know this is a light out three points should be no none of those things where they are right now

[00:14:15] if they are the tri-hard team in the NBA these are the dudes that you go to the YMCA jam and you're just trying to get a run in you know just you know get some critical couple shots

[00:14:31] no video and you got that one dude that's like he's like guard you and he's extra sweaty right so you feel the he's filled the sweat up against you and it feels it feels nasty

[00:14:47] that's what Orlando is Orlando is a real tri-hard team but they have a ton of young talent not develop yet the development is coming from frost boggant in polo gankero but as a right now the other pieces are really good play hard you're going to see them

[00:15:09] really surprise some teams this year but I think they would be the candidate for I hate the call it this because I'm not trying to I'm not trying to crochet it or not

[00:15:21] fan base but I guess if you had to call it something like the Sacramento or this year or whatever but did the team that could win a lot of games early this year surprise some people get into the playoffs and then take it early exit so

[00:15:39] as much as we're excited about the development of the young guys it's full-sgo in Orlando and if you're just happy with hey we're playing well we're competitive it's good to be in games that matter it's good to be talking about Orlando Magic

[00:15:57] basketball understandable but if you're saying we can go to the eastern conference finals with this team I would tell you to pump the brakes just a tap right so you know it's again I want to

[00:16:13] shout out my guy Tyre's out of Burton who's absolutely getting it done I mean he's leading the league in a sys he's absolutely all world I think that the one thing that Nico and I discussed

[00:16:27] not even that long ago I think it was we were having an offline discussion on Tyre's out of Burton and talking about how we felt about them coming out to drive and one of the things that we

[00:16:38] saw is just how instinctual he sees again now he is not the type of foreign guard that needs to pound the ball all the time or whatever case you need he doesn't need to do that he gets it

[00:16:52] ball to his guys he has no problem giving it up he's a unselfish guy but this is the type of guy that you really want to play with because yes he does get his but he is not just so my opic

[00:17:10] to his own stats and personal glory that he can definitely get others involved and she had a sugar as I like to say now any out of the place two games against the Miami heat then they played

[00:17:27] the Detroit pistons which we need to talk about then they play a Milwaukee and then they play Washington so they have a little fire game stretch here but everybody you're going to get a couple more

[00:17:43] challenges from that team you're going to get a couple more challenges from you know Miami you know Miami definitely life's play hall they play hall all the time so we're good there

[00:17:58] the other thing to talk about what the Indiana patient is this is that people keep asking about trades and whatnot we're going to get into that just a tad bit later um as a right now I don't

[00:18:17] see anything on the horizon for now and not because I don't think they're not going to make the playoffs this year I actually think that Indiana has a definitely a good chance of being in the top six

[00:18:33] just because like I said they're going to play hard it will really depend on the fit to this particular team because keep in mind when you're Indiana when you're a Cleveland

[00:18:51] and Les LeBron comes back to your city um you know when you're a Denver when you're a Milwaukee you're not just going to obtain you know prize free agents so you have to be very

[00:19:11] smart you have to be very precise with who you trade for is it the right mix is it is it uh too soon to go in is it you know you know you know we miss our window all those things factor

[00:19:31] when you're in one of those cities Portland's a city like that New Orleans a city like that um now if you get a generation of talent on your squad and and he decides to set up shop there

[00:19:47] you know then your your situation becomes maybe more of a pie pie for type situation but that's not how it usually goes so I'm looking at what Indiana could do now they do have an

[00:20:02] inspiring contract anybody heal if they wanted to move on from that they they have a couple pieces that they could move around but all in all this is a team that's on the rise it's building and I think

[00:20:17] you just kind of you can just kind of lie away until you find like that real connective piece that could really jump start this uh there's a random song that you have going on in Indiana right now so

[00:20:35] I think it's I think as a wait and see I think obviously you kind of keep your you keep your ors in the water you know looking for things but obviously at this point in time it might not be the

[00:20:49] most optimal to go after a player um a team that I have been kind of staying away from as far as talking about other gunstay warriors now the gunstay warriors have run into injuries that run into suspensions with draing mind green you know going after

[00:21:28] really go there you know I'm almost weeks ago now he's served his suspension he's coming off that so I just think we go to state and let's say make a trade they're gonna fall in line with the

[00:21:49] legaries and be that team that's like okay we're kind of scary but we're really not winning the championship and I know that sounds very disrespectful to all my people in the bay but

[00:22:04] y'all have to see it tell me who who else other than stuff is an impact player on that team and don't tell me draing mind and what he gives you and the understanding of it gives you gives you a lot

[00:22:20] of grit like winning plays no who also does that Alex Crucel but we you know draing mind has the the ability to pass more in whatever he facilitates so you know obviously hide level high

[00:22:40] high as level role player you want to call you and can and damn damn near is the heart is definitely the heartbeat of that team but I'll talk about difference makers other than stuff who's a

[00:22:56] difference maker on that team now I will never sit here and chastise the gunstay warriors for rating themselves of the Jordan pool contract and maybe some of the history on

[00:23:11] extent went his way right you know I'm not that guy but the one thing I will say is that they need some offensive firepower or something that staves off school and coins in a big way

[00:23:33] and to tell you truth I don't know where they're going to get it from you know I hindsight is 2020 we talked about the wiseman trade and in these young cast for a long period

[00:23:48] time but you know what the thing that we have not done it's like it's the little trades it's the little things that happen in a season that that shader should not go on now this

[00:24:03] is a whole new regime that is in gold state might Dudley be junior has taken over the speaking role and just a late of son is now in charge he's like the player personnel guy

[00:24:22] so I don't know if they have the actual attachment to the players as maybe Bob Myers did where we clearly look at the gold state warriors right now there's a trade that needs to be made

[00:24:42] another team that I want to hit on is we had talked about it really since all everything's kind of broken down in Milwaukee and traded Dave and all that what the Portland Trail

[00:24:52] Blazers are off to a rocky start too but this is kind of what we expected and everybody was a little bit on the shape because you didn't got you know off to a five and twelve so

[00:25:05] all right which like again I expect but the thing that they that people were a little worried about was scoop and scoot hinders in got off to a slow start then he got injured and you know now

[00:25:18] you start to work and sell way back into you know plan shave and in whatever occasion it be now last couple games scored like 13 points in both those games a little more aggressive

[00:25:33] and again Portland I'm just going to tell you just trust in the process a little bit the kid will get it he'll find his feet I think the second half of the year is going to look

[00:25:45] way better than the first half of the year I think he just has to go through the gauntlet has to go through the fire and then he'll be vastly improved but as we continue to monitor what

[00:26:02] goes on keep in mind Portland is also kind of a lynch pan to what the trade market is going to look like because yes they don't have Robert Williams anymore because he's out for the year with

[00:26:15] the knee surgery but Malcolm roged in the still on that team as a nice piece for a lot of people to have so keep a lookout for that and then we actually can start it earned this in a couple weeks

[00:26:29] because December 15th is really the first day that week is really started talking about actual trades and and well how you because a lot of the people who sign there free age and contracts

[00:26:42] can now be traded after December 15th so that is something to look forward to and that is on the horizon the other thing that we kind of need to talk about and I think about it's back and forth

[00:26:57] between the conference is we're going to have more like it's going to be like I told you we have a whole set up coming we're going to talk about fantasy we're going to talk about all

[00:27:07] betting a little bit and we don't get to these right main topics this set up will be starting in December once we go to the multiple back to multiple pods week once we go to

[00:27:23] having and sharing conversations with Dan and or Nico or whoever else pops up on the pot you know we're going to go more to that format and I think I think you should work out pretty well

[00:27:41] the other thing that is going on is that everybody in Sacramento County Lacks Sacramento got to a little slow start and then they started to come on a late DR5 still looks awesome

[00:28:00] I still think they are the team that could have used the upgrade but not doing something in the offseason or couldn't get themselves involved in some of the other stuff that was going on at the

[00:28:16] time I can't understand it hopefully when the trade deadline comes up maybe they can get themselves in the mix for something else but right now Sacramento is pretty much exactly why I thought they

[00:28:29] would be inside the top six low back little you know a little worse record than last year but you know at the end of the day this is a lot better west so I mean you know we're going to have

[00:28:46] some things that look different go some of the different they don't taste different but Sacramento with the way they play Mike Brown has got those guys going and I think what should be the most important thing right now with them is make sure they continue to healthy which

[00:29:05] they did all the last year and then it's really the development of Kegan Murray. Kegan Murray takes step this team's going look a lot different because the guys a lot to his game

[00:29:20] I think you can be a pretty good defender on that saying lock now I think he'd be a pretty good rebounder and I think that Kegan Murray has a lot to his offensive game that he's not really

[00:29:33] blessed us with yet so I look forward to seeing it and I look forward to what they look like you know getting 40 basically oh we all talk about my guy Jordan Hawkins of the pelicans shout out to

[00:29:54] New Orleans um they've been playing a lot better of weight but I really wanted to get a shout out to our guy Jordan Hawkins if you remember around the draft me go and I were high on Jordan Hawkins

[00:30:09] like I love Jordan Hawkins if I'm not mistaken where he went I think he went like one spot ahead of where the liquors took Jaylen Hoos Chufino and I was working hardy because I really

[00:30:25] like Jordan Hawkins yeah he's been playing lights out anytime he's gotten the opportunity to to get it going he definitely does he shoot in it well he's he's none of this seems to be

[00:30:45] overwhelming for Jordan Hawkins which is one of those things that you have to sit there and and be mindful of because you know we talk while I work you struggling right now you know like

[00:30:56] scoot hindersons of the world and things that nature put there's something to be said about the view cont guards these guards they get to play in Madison Square Garden they're not scared

[00:31:11] of the spotlight whatsoever and here's another guy who is just I can get buckets you know there's not all I do you know because I pass it a little bit you know I get re-mouse which is he's a pretty

[00:31:29] good re-mouse or for somebody who's like I would say a senior we he six foot four six foot five guy he's not the biggest guy but he does hand them so well in the pain he definitely

[00:31:43] scraps for me now so it's good to see him get off and I think the one thing that we knew in the draft analysis that we were talking about with Jordan Hawkins is that

[00:31:53] we knew that he was going to be able to shoot it we knew that he had a creative bag but we also knew that structurally for this team it definitely made a lot of sense

[00:32:06] we didn't know where the plan time was gonna come from because they had a lot of guards it's kind of the same thing that we had a question about what case and Wallace of okay see

[00:32:15] and I'll get there in a second but the one thing that and if they can get train Murphy the third healthy completely healthy which I think he's close he's on the man as we speak because

[00:32:36] I'll wear his back or I'll rot those back so when train Murphy comes back that's another shooter that will help ingram and Zion it will open up the corridor a bit and I hope they give those guys

[00:32:54] a lot of time because I think that mix right there is kind of key to what nor was could be so the other thing I learned bring up is that I think it was early it was like

[00:33:14] in the middle last week I think Utah our guy will hardy out there got mad because the young guys weren't playing well so he went kind of old school bench tomorrow said listen if you're not going

[00:33:29] to hustle I can't give me any clock you can play on my team right now so it seems like the kids have responded not everybody got there starting roll back yet but I'm sure they will soon

[00:33:46] soon enough but yeah that was pretty interesting approach especially for such a young guy to make that a that kind of decision usually you don't see it I think it only can't happen in

[00:34:00] places like Utah Oklahoma City Portland places like that where you could where the media scrutiny is not crazy but yeah he did it so kudos to him and and kudos to really you know hey we got said

[00:34:16] tone here and that tone is we not gonna take any BS you're not going to be out here just without any purpose of drive or determination now we're not going to do that and who did I want to talk

[00:34:35] about last well I do want to talk about job I do want to talk about me if it is I do talk to somebody in an organization that long ago um in here today you know crop tonic injuries everybody

[00:35:04] hurt six other top eight players from the rotation uh not playing right now I don't know what you did feasibly expect them to do now everybody was like well trades somebody make a trade trade for what

[00:35:21] everybody knows your desk where they now you're not coming from a place of strength whatsoever unfortunately you got to ride this out now what I told you ride this out is the season over

[00:35:35] no it's not over is the season for you competitively to get yourself back into a situation where you can make a real series run and play off yeah that might be done

[00:35:50] now you can play spoiler or you can connage this oh we're just gonna be injury team this year and that happens to teams you just run it to just miss fortune every time you turn the corner

[00:36:01] it's not the worst thing in the world to happen to Memphis in mind keep in mind this disc premise and disc premise only Dylan Brooks left them for Houston and what do I

[00:36:16] and I'm not saying you want to him you traded for uh Marcus one right um you drafted job right you trading for Steven Adams who's on the mind on the mind so skitty recovery to our

[00:36:44] guy but what I'm saying is that Memphis is not this this great destination place again and I know people will talk to hear that but the other thing that you have to understand is that sometimes these things

[00:37:01] and they could end up working in your favor in a way that you were not expecting because it could be that piece that you were looking for that you could not get

[00:37:13] or you're trying to trade up to get or whatever it could be or get a vet or whatever you really haven't tried to get bringing that to this point but um this could be a real real

[00:37:35] crazy turn turn of event for Memphis because Bane is very very good. Jan Jackson Jr's very good I believe if his head is on a straight jaw is also very very good you had another player into that mix that's like another like a lottery piece or whatever

[00:38:00] or the idea of this lottery piece then who gets traded to you know somewhere else for a vet that definitely fits exactly what you're looking for. So I think honestly, Memphis is in a real

[00:38:17] good spot I don't think they're quaking their boats at all and they have one of the most they have the one the largest like player development scouting department analytics they they they blow it out man they get after every single day those guys are confident numbers getting

[00:38:42] tape up you know getting it to the team getting it to the players get this is coaches or whatever case you need be that is a absolute player development scouting machine down there and

[00:38:59] there were okay we got breaking news mark you and is mark you in of the governor of the Dallas Madrex is a process of selling a significant state of the team it says the alson family is in the

[00:39:24] process of wanting significant stake into the Dallas Madrex um her marks nine uh read that athletic leaks are to say mark you and would continue to retain operational control routine more to come

[00:39:40] breaking news so we have mark you in one of the one of the uh I would say one of the kind of them excuse the pun one of the kind like the the Mavericks of the NBA he was really uh vitally important to

[00:39:58] you know bringing the NBA into like streaming and you know getting them on like the social media platforms and stuff like that he was big on that he's been a lot of committees uh he's doing

[00:40:11] a lot of good in Dallas Metro area um kind of interesting to see him you know wanted to take this step back right now so maybe you know mr Q and his found another interest of whatever

[00:40:27] the case may be I'm not I gotta do some more digging on the Adelson family once I have some more information we could kind of talk about him and see if this makes any change to what this seems

[00:40:41] going look like in like three or four years now there was a key point to that it said that Q and will be coding on and be doing basketball operation stuff so it looks like

[00:40:54] he's there maybe as like more of a um consultant but still you know you still have Q and finger prints on them on the Mavericks so that was interesting and it looks like it was

[00:41:09] four three point five billion dollars not a bad payday if you can get it um the other thing that we're gonna talk about next time was we're gonna get into the draft of

[00:41:25] and we're gonna get in to let's we're gonna see you hopefully there's a couple more rumors that shake loose because as we get closer to December 15 I think we're gonna get more chatter on
