OKC Thunder and Boston Celtics on Historic Paces!

In this episode, Vince Carter discusses the obsession with the number one player on a team and how it has evolved over the years. He then praises the Oklahoma City Thunder for their impressive performance and highlights Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's MVP-caliber season. Vince also analyzes the Boston Celtics' historic success and the impact of Kristaps Porzingis on their offense. He concludes by discussing the Celtics' weaknesses and dismissing the MVP talk surrounding Jason Tatum. The conversation continues with various topics including the impact of Derek White on the Celtics, injuries in the Eastern Conference, Steve Kerr's contract extension, Jordan Poole's performance, the influence of technology on sports consumption, the importance of celebrating sports moments, the Sacramento Kings' lack of upgrades, Karl-Anthony Towns' injury, and upcoming expansion and player comparisons.

[00:00:00] Here we are again, food brethren, it is all your host Vince Carter and we are back

[00:00:16] from our podcast collective and it is Thursday, a little bit after four Pacific standard

[00:00:22] time so we can't just start it.

[00:00:24] I'll definitely understand that. a little bit of a four Pacific standard time, so can't just starting a different

[00:00:25] level of a storm off. So we want to drop this five. We want to make sure that we

[00:00:30] were back. We've had some engineering snapplings, some user error on my part, but we

[00:00:39] are now back. So this is great. We will be next week twice a week.

[00:00:46] And we don't depend on what happens over the weekend.

[00:00:50] Now what we're going to twice a week, I don't know,

[00:00:53] I'm kind of next week.

[00:00:54] So we can go ahead and give you that.

[00:00:56] So my apologies.

[00:00:57] I shouldn't get better about social media.

[00:01:01] I don't do some stuff. So mental health, right?

[00:01:06] Fantastic.

[00:01:06] You gotta make sure you take care of it

[00:01:09] and then you get yourself together.

[00:01:11] So we are back and we're ready to go.

[00:01:14] The other thing that we can talk about today is this.

[00:01:21] My gratitude to the listeners out there, especially the people who have joined up and are

[00:01:31] really checking out the YouTube page from going to podcast collective.

[00:01:36] We have in the first two months, now I know we're just a little bit into March, but we actually done double in the views

[00:01:49] and what have you in the first two months.

[00:01:53] Then we did the whole year of 20, 20, 30.

[00:01:57] So 2024 is off to a good start.

[00:02:01] You know, what I like to say on that is be a friend, some of the

[00:02:05] grand, let people know about the podcast, let people know about the YouTube

[00:02:10] page. However, you're consuming the information, be a supporter of the

[00:02:18] podcast because I definitely appreciated. I get to look at some of the countries that work in,

[00:02:27] some of the download to this just incredible to me,

[00:02:32] that we're in Singapore, in Russia, in India,

[00:02:39] all over the UK, in Canada.

[00:02:43] So, I mean, just a shout out to everybody who, oh, I can't forget

[00:02:48] about my guys in Australia as well. So just a credit to everybody who listened to the five

[00:02:54] days of my gratitude again and now we can just, oh, gotta make sure we all have a social stuff

[00:03:02] without all of our socials. This is what happens when you don't do it for a little while, right?

[00:03:07] All right.

[00:03:08] So, front runner at front runner PC on X or Twitter.

[00:03:13] I really like to say that.

[00:03:15] And then you can hit my guy, Nico up at Nico at RPC.

[00:03:20] Again, the YouTube being YouTube page is front right now

[00:03:26] podcast collective and um

[00:03:31] I think that's what I do. What else do you know?

[00:03:32] Oh the website of course right the website so the website

[00:03:39] who's up and running and hopefully in the soon

[00:03:43] we will have a top 34 view prospects for NVA

[00:03:46] 2.24 draft that should be coming shortly you can go to

[00:03:52] for runnerTC dot com and get that information right now we have a top 10 and

[00:04:00] that should be updated hopefully soon and then now we'll just get into the pot.

[00:04:07] So in my time off, gave me some time to think

[00:04:11] and we're moving into like a new era of pot a little bit.

[00:04:17] And with that being said,

[00:04:20] we've been always talking about moving the forward, moving the pop forward,

[00:04:27] moving towards things that are more thought pieces than just like, oh this guy is good,

[00:04:35] this guy is trash, that guy does not work the money, this guy is worth a ton of money. We wanted to give deeper into analytics, what's me deeper into just why things

[00:04:51] are or how they became or whatever it is being paid. It got me thinking because I've

[00:04:59] been looking at a couple of teams. Okay, Steve see the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Boston Celtics and

[00:05:08] you know, it got me to think in and follow just all my historical knowledge of the game,

[00:05:16] watching it since I was in like seven, six, seven years old, and now being a 51 year old man

[00:05:22] and just kind of understanding like, hey, you've seen a ton of bounce blocks, seeing a lot of change, seeing a lot of things go.

[00:05:29] Coming up and now you're at this point and what does this remind you of?

[00:05:35] What is this con-drum for you?

[00:05:38] So what I want to kind of do is take you back a little bit,

[00:05:43] but it's something that we talk about now.

[00:05:47] We, yeah, we digital media sports, top shows,

[00:05:51] obviously the mouse, which is ESPN.

[00:05:55] We all talk about who is the number one

[00:05:57] like on the team, right?

[00:05:59] We always talk about who's another one?

[00:06:01] Who's the guy?

[00:06:03] Who is the man who's the alpha on the team.

[00:06:06] I mean, everybody's supposedly has one.

[00:06:09] You know, the struggling teams don't have one.

[00:06:13] But like when being zet or San Antonio even though they're struggling, he's their

[00:06:17] alpha.

[00:06:18] And this has been such a phenomenon over, I would say, probably since like the early 90s.

[00:06:27] This is kind of one that started.

[00:06:31] But there's this talk of, you know, who's the one who's the number two in some cases,

[00:06:37] who's the number one, number two and number three.

[00:06:40] But we're obsessed with this ecosystem within the basketball locker rooms.

[00:06:46] Now, there was a time where stars combined.

[00:06:51] It was more team success, rather than who's going to be the man.

[00:06:59] Magic Corning, Dr. J. Darryl Dawkins, Larry Bird, Kevin McEl, Dennis Johnson.

[00:07:09] Then came Michael.

[00:07:15] In MJ, let's read the public alpha.

[00:07:20] The 90s was littered with wood, wood, wood, for also random Batman and Roberts.

[00:07:28] Then Colby and Shaq came along. There's more of a famous group. So being being part of our

[00:07:37] it began our fascination with the number one number two because their thing was so public because Colleen was such a

[00:07:47] maniacal worker when he came to his crowd and he was always just bewildered why Shaq would

[00:07:54] not come in shape or whatever he could be. But there was a thought process that Shaq was dominant

[00:08:07] thought process that Shackle is dominant. Didn't matter. Didn't matter what you came to shape, not to shape whatever the case was, we just did not matter whatsoever. And now, you know,

[00:08:16] it plays out Kobe gets shacked and traded to the Miami Heat. And then he becomes number one struggles for a couple years and then

[00:08:27] gets his jacket filled. So it's a complete redemption art story and what happened. But

[00:08:34] that was kind of our intro into, I guess, if you want to call it, reality, reality TV NBA. Because if you think about it now,

[00:08:46] what are we more concerned with?

[00:08:49] Oh, the disc that I get traded.

[00:08:51] Is he unhappy?

[00:08:53] Who's this team gonna grab?

[00:08:55] They have some cap space.

[00:08:58] I heard that, you know, this dude is unhappy here.

[00:09:02] It means looking to take his talent somewhere else.

[00:09:05] And this team can get team first my own draft picks for him or whatever the case may be.

[00:09:12] This phenomenon is something that was manufactured by talk radio back in the day ESPN or this Fox Sports a little bit of that

[00:09:31] funny Tina Ching mostly stayed out of this they didn't get into the breaking

[00:09:41] news and all this person making you know $26 million a year and all that sort of stuff.

[00:09:47] I mean, they reported it a little bit,

[00:09:49] but it's not their bad report that.

[00:09:54] But we became obsessed with it, but it's funny.

[00:10:00] Then I see a team like the Oklahoma City Thunder.

[00:10:05] Now, the Thunder are like 42 and 19.

[00:10:10] They are one of the top teams in the West,

[00:10:13] if not top team in the West.

[00:10:16] Next for our Jessica Sarga right there.

[00:10:24] I'll be into quite loaded upper tier with the clippers and Minnesota and themselves

[00:10:33] up in that mix.

[00:10:35] There's just one of those things where it's being beautiful to watch.

[00:10:40] And the reason why I want to talk about it, oh, I forgot what the nuggets do not ever forget

[00:10:44] about the nuggets. I ever forget about the nuggets.

[00:10:46] I see me yokey, I see you out there doing the old thing.

[00:10:50] But what struck me about this team and what struck me about the whole deal was just the way they played.

[00:11:00] And we're going to get into more of it. But while it's astonished at what made me point this out, very quickly with a young team,

[00:11:12] the Oklahoma City bender are the second man's team in the league of 24 years of the league.

[00:11:20] So the lack of ego on this chain currently is incredible

[00:11:27] Shay we all know

[00:11:29] It's stupid down

[00:11:32] The way these leaders and he contorts his body is it reminds me of circus a leg

[00:11:40] It just is it's so

[00:11:43] It just is it's so Herky jerky but smooth at the same time. It has a

[00:11:47] a biletic field to it.

[00:11:50] Um, and he just gets to his, he just gets to this

[00:11:55] spot whenever he decides to.

[00:11:58] And it's just incredible to watch.

[00:12:00] He's looking one of my favorite players to watch in

[00:12:03] the league.

[00:12:01] is just incredible to watch. He's one of my favorite players to watch in the league now.

[00:12:09] And now we can be this falling away

[00:12:11] as a threat for the MVP candidate,

[00:12:14] Joe Kinch and Luca are up there.

[00:12:16] But Shay is having a season like,

[00:12:20] is just his season is so crazy right now.

[00:12:23] He's over 30.

[00:12:24] It's not. We're gonna get get a little nerd stats in a second but.

[00:12:31] When you're getting nice on a video game.

[00:12:36] And you're at the final.

[00:12:39] And you're all.

[00:12:41] You know you get you know how you get really good at video game right and

[00:12:49] you know it took you a while to get there but you now you got there you got your

[00:12:54] your combo moves set up right to have the highest impact. You know, talking well,

[00:13:06] that's kind of what, okay,

[00:13:08] see reminds me of right down, man,

[00:13:10] it's just like white work.

[00:13:13] It's just insane to me how good this team is.

[00:13:22] That's Shay right now at 25 years of age.

[00:13:25] Now we're going to dig into the crates a little bit.

[00:13:29] Let's look at some numbers.

[00:13:31] His box plus minus right now is 7.1.

[00:13:35] This the highest of Shay's career is offensive.

[00:13:39] Manchair is 9.3.

[00:13:41] It's the best in the NBA.

[00:13:43] His defensive win share is 3.5.

[00:13:46] It's a career best.

[00:13:48] And he has a 12.8 win share overall,

[00:13:53] which is the lead's the NBA.

[00:13:56] His assist rate percentage is 31.6.

[00:14:02] If that's the A's turnover rate is 8.6. If that's GA's turnover rate is 8.2. Both

[00:14:09] career best and also let's throw in another career best. He is at 38%

[00:14:15] beyond yard. So, with school point percentage, just 38%, what do

[00:14:21] basically lead average, but for sure that's a marked improvement

[00:14:25] because he's like 35 career.

[00:14:32] 31.1 points again counting stats,

[00:14:36] 6.5 assists again, 5.6,

[00:14:38] a rewelled again and 2.2 assists.

[00:14:43] That's an MVP caliber season if I've ever seen more. This is the best

[00:14:49] version of the Shea Gillages Alexander that we've seen so far. And I think as a team that is

[00:14:57] valing for supremacy in the West, he's definitely worthy of MP, MP consideration.

[00:15:06] I can't see why he wouldn't be.

[00:15:09] More athletes were FTA as I was digging into this.

[00:15:15] Now, here's the thing, I know you're sitting there going like events.

[00:15:18] You're talking a lot about FTA,

[00:15:20] what about the other guys?

[00:15:27] But that isn't the whole story.

[00:15:30] Cheat Hall Grant is, you know,

[00:15:33] hotly contested, well, nine more.

[00:15:36] He's in a contested, working at the gear race

[00:15:39] with Victor Gwenwai Yamah, that was definitely

[00:15:43] put to get Victor as the odds off favorite what

[00:15:46] he's doing is absolutely silly is nutty what he's doing right now. We've never

[00:15:53] seen it. It's impressive in every single way we can't get enough of it. The

[00:16:01] highlights are viral every time he plays and does something

[00:16:05] because every game he does something that we've never seen before.

[00:16:10] But shit.

[00:16:12] Give shit, he's crazy.

[00:16:17] It's not just his countless deaths that you're going to kind of like really look at

[00:16:21] because this is the thing that I love is that he shouldn't 39.5%

[00:16:25] from 3.1. Okay, there's really the key to the offense because if you look at it, they

[00:16:30] want to play five out. You know, you want to play five out. The center has to knock

[00:16:35] down the three at a really respectable level. But trades not, I mean, Chase not only

[00:16:42] doing that at a respectable level, He's doing it at a high

[00:16:47] clip. You know, this is not Miles Turner flirting around with 33 34% no disrespect to Miles Turner

[00:16:55] because we love what he does. But Chuck is different. Chuck can put it on the floor.

[00:17:08] check can put it on the floor check can can take it behind the back check can give you a little two piece you know and a little jaff step and put you in the

[00:17:14] blender he's a good processor these are all things that are in a sense

[00:17:21] allowing this team to kind of move in this direction.

[00:17:30] And J. Williams is having a major leap on his development track.

[00:17:37] Adding reliability on for 4.5 assists now, his thing.

[00:17:42] They still limit him he still in the war of a

[00:17:48] Shay drives it into the middle of the lane or get he drives it into the middle of the lane kick out to him

[00:17:54] It's not happy with the shock that he has you can do a ball play

[00:17:59] Into whatever

[00:18:02] action that he wants to get into

[00:18:07] whatever action that he wants to get into. So it's not like he's bringing the ball up the court all the time because he's not doing that. But he's very

[00:18:11] effective in his role because his decision-making, because he's at a free to one

[00:18:20] assist attorney over a refield. And if you know anything about me, I love people who take care of the ball.

[00:18:28] I want you to love a ball like you love your woman. Okay, I want you to love the ball,

[00:18:36] you know, like you love Jesus. You know what I'm saying? Like that's how you should love the ball.

[00:18:44] You know what I'm saying? Like that's how you should love the book. Um, so he plays all the time. That's the other thing.

[00:18:52] And then the three point numbers cannot be ignored anymore. Okay. It's not a ridiculous

[00:18:56] volume. Um, but he's a full attempt more again.

[00:19:03] This season. And then the great thing about it is is that he

[00:19:07] sheeted in at a 44% click. Okay. I mean, I don't know what more we can do with

[00:19:14] this gap. And again, they all play unselfishly. You don't see them crying about minutes, touching his shots, getting him that.

[00:19:27] None of that comes well with his teeth.

[00:19:33] The scary part of what OKC is is that the stories of the girls and others, like case in Wallace,

[00:19:45] that was our guy coming out of Kentucky.

[00:19:47] We did draft coverage back before the 2023 draft in case the Wallace Woods wanted our dies.

[00:19:55] We love them.

[00:19:56] And we've been on him since day one.

[00:19:59] It's just another Kentucky yard getting it done, but his great and his fight on defense

[00:20:09] with is what makes them special and then he's also 20 years old.

[00:20:13] Look at him, so here's another guy in the developmental process.

[00:20:19] That is a key factor within the OKC ecosystem who's going to get valuable playoff minutes in

[00:20:30] a short time here and he's 20 years old.

[00:20:34] J-12 Williams is 23, he'll be 23 and April, so he still won't go away. So do you still want the wet? Check is what 21.

[00:20:46] So

[00:20:48] youth all over the place.

[00:20:51] Oh yeah, Wallace knocks down the three at a really good level as well.

[00:20:56] Then you got I say you got Isaiah Jill.

[00:20:59] This is found one.

[00:21:02] They kicked him off the scrap sheet from Philadelphia.

[00:21:08] And now it's not going to have a high volume lethal three point shooter who allows them to

[00:21:17] play the way they want to. What is that five-ounce dial? And he's a threat every time we get support.

[00:21:30] style and he's a threat every time he gets aboard. So they just got him a ton of talent and it doesn't matter and what it allows it, it allows the paint to open up and then

[00:21:35] shake and go off because here's the other thing with Shay. I'm a bigconian and people who I'm a great proconian people who get to the

[00:21:48] free pro line and Shagos said if we go line a lot it's getting to the free

[00:21:54] girls line like 10 times again 10 so he's making not of them because he's a 90% free birth shooter. And again, I say he's 25 years of age.

[00:22:09] The thing that I have with that is, is that keep in mind,

[00:22:15] you really don't get all your superpowers until 27. And if that's the case, if that's what we're looking at, what's it going look like in a couple years?

[00:22:28] That's the question you got to ask yourself is what is it going to look like in the next couple years?

[00:22:36] All that praise to say again is that the lack of ego about touches, clean time is truly harmonious style of basketball as led the OKC

[00:22:48] Thunder group 42 in 19 record which was tied with the team wars. Here's the other

[00:22:56] thing that I want to tell you what this you can just sit there and just grasp the grass branch of it. They are currently third in the game

[00:23:07] VA in offensive rating at 120.2. The difference is rating is fifth in the

[00:23:14] VA at 112.7. They give them a net rating of 7.5. That would be good in the other year. We have lost it. And then the

[00:23:31] other thing that we can talk about is the Getty play. The Getty play has been the good this

[00:23:36] year. So we will talk about some of things that hasn't worked. The Getty has not improved

[00:23:41] as a shooter and he's starting not to look pretty shot which is not great but

[00:23:46] with Casey Wallace coming in and having Isaiah Joe there and also Lou Dort is you know he's taking

[00:23:56] what four or five breeds of game knocking them down at a high clip so've got enough shooting to limit getting what if a song the reason

[00:24:10] he's unbliable. You have a numb dies off that bench that look like they're ready to go ahead

[00:24:17] and give me those minutes as well. So okay, see? He is looking very, very good. Now

[00:24:33] So, okay, C is looking very, very good. Now, using them all that praise and then they came in and got weak but it's now. They're just not physically strong right now.

[00:24:45] The numbers are great.

[00:24:46] I want to see the group of concept.

[00:24:49] I want to see what it looks like in a couple of years.

[00:24:53] But I'm not getting this race to get them to the finals this year.

[00:24:59] You know, I mean, incredible record.

[00:25:02] I think whatever they do this year, it doesn't even matter.

[00:25:07] If they end up number one and then for some reason, they get knocked off by the AC.

[00:25:12] None of us should say anything because they were a playing team last year.

[00:25:18] That's the first thing. The second thing is they're still incredibly young.

[00:25:23] We talked about the ages of their core guys

[00:25:27] and their oldest guys 25 years of age. If their oldest guys 25 years of age and this is their first time

[00:25:34] on the stage, what can we reasonably expect from them in their first playoff run?

[00:25:51] and their first playoff run. Really entertaining first round series or get past the first round, go to the second round as listen. When you get to the second round, get the

[00:25:59] clip readers or being able to wait before you get lucky. Right?

[00:26:05] And then there's a damper.

[00:26:06] I will talk about them as well.

[00:26:08] But I don't think it's a dish we've spread for to say that,

[00:26:12] okay, see, it's young.

[00:26:15] They have not matured enough.

[00:26:17] And that we're looking at them as a team

[00:26:22] that might have some issues on the playoffs.

[00:26:27] I don't think that's disrespecting that team. Now, if they go out and say, hey,

[00:26:30] Oxtile works,

[00:26:33] well, we can get it done this way.

[00:26:36] Okay?

[00:26:37] But you don't have to prove me to me.

[00:26:39] Because I think you're not great, great regular season,

[00:26:47] play all completely different animal,

[00:26:51] and I'm going to need to see it before I actually believe it.

[00:26:55] All right.

[00:26:56] So I'm going to avoid this talking for a long time.

[00:27:01] Let me get a sip of tea.

[00:27:04] I've been drinking a lot of of tea with my wife as a, say, hey, you need to protect your voice.

[00:27:10] You need to start drinking tea, putting honey into the tea.

[00:27:14] So we listen to the wife and tea is good.

[00:27:17] So anyways, I'm getting a voice in this, and obviously I'm doing it right here.

[00:27:28] This is going to give me like sleep with science.

[00:27:31] This is uh, this is so painful for me, but you know, I check it out.

[00:27:41] The seltic aren't just good.

[00:27:43] They're historically good.

[00:27:45] Um, I have the numbers to pack backing up, my nerves guys out there.

[00:27:49] They're going to love this.

[00:27:52] They're going to love this whole deal.

[00:27:54] But we will talk about the seltich like this. I'm actually going to be in the next couple of months.

[00:28:07] Okay.

[00:28:08] So, brass evens, the exec, Jill Nozula, the head of code, the best record and basketball by

[00:28:17] far.

[00:28:18] 49-13.

[00:28:20] The Boston Celtics made two acquisitions in the offseason.

[00:28:26] But of course, in the course,

[00:28:27] Zingis and Holliday bring it,

[00:28:30] just bringing in those two entirely changed the dynamic of that team.

[00:28:42] These numbers are not even bad.

[00:28:43] If there's just not even bad.

[00:28:45] They're all kids of rating, it's 122.7, first in the NBA.

[00:28:50] Their defensive rating is 111.2, which is second in the NBA.

[00:28:56] They have a net rating of plus 11.6, which is first in the NBA,

[00:29:02] but it's historically great.

[00:29:06] This seems as good as the 2016, 2017 Golden State Warriors,

[00:29:11] which a lot of people will claim that that is the greatest team of all time.

[00:29:19] These are what the numbers are saying.

[00:29:21] So don't get that mean.

[00:29:24] These are what the numbers are saying. We're't get that mean. These are what the numbers

[00:29:25] are saying. We're going to talk basketball in a second but the numbers are great.

[00:29:30] They're playing great. They are a really good team. They are stacked. There's no

[00:29:37] question about that. Their peck motor has fallen into place. There's no question about that. And I'll say it this way.

[00:29:51] I won't. They gave Joe Mozilla enough toys to get enough chess pieces to move around to really make that offensive really

[00:30:08] home at a ridiculous level. They're so long and every position and they got

[00:30:17] effort guys as well. Game of Brown is not just a pretty face. He's out there getting it done on both sides of the ball.

[00:30:28] Jason Tatum definitely has stepped up.

[00:30:31] His defensive effort as well.

[00:30:34] And then you got true hologate.

[00:30:37] And I don't know if you wanted to get better offense.

[00:30:42] And there is no way you allow true allowed your holiday to go to Boston.

[00:30:50] Now I know it was two separate deals.

[00:30:55] But yeah, that hurt my wife a lot.

[00:31:02] The key was the cheat code to the Boston Celtics is Kristoff was Angus.

[00:31:07] There's a vast metrics like someone line up just crazy.

[00:31:16] So the Tatum White for Zingus lineup was plus 15.8.

[00:31:21] The Brown White for Zingus lineup is plus 14.8. The Tatum brown white or zingas is 15.2.

[00:31:32] That's not their best for me lineup. That crown goes to the Or So he's involved in every statistical best lineup that they have.

[00:31:54] He is what he is is that he's allowed them to get into a click-and-roll action where now

[00:32:06] to get into a kicking little action where now the wing on the guard is now on him and now with Kristoff for as long as being 7.37 or somewhere close to

[00:32:13] there you can shoot right over some like 6.7 there's no big deal with that and

[00:32:19] if you're talking about he's gonna be at like easy looks at 18 feet or three

[00:32:25] coinshots or if he did frisky once it's going to the going

[00:32:29] to the paint and yeah I'm on you. He's going to be able to do

[00:32:33] that because the match up that's a matter of that they're

[00:32:39] looking for in that particular set. They've done it a lot

[00:32:42] with Jalen Brown and they've done it a lot with Tatum.

[00:32:46] Actually, Derek White, I think Derek White is one of the best picker world cards in the lead.

[00:32:53] I love him. I know that Trey is as far as passer as concern is probably the most talented,

[00:33:07] is probably the most talented, but I love the way Deriguaite plays. It's so surreal. It's definitely looking for the best shot, not his best shot, but the team's

[00:33:14] right shot. Let's see what else we got in Wild Boston. And here's the other thing. I don't think we've been Boston for 15 years.

[00:33:29] And there's a lot of people in Boston that I love that I'm incredible, incredible relationships

[00:33:37] with great times still hated to self-its.

[00:33:44] Y'all know.

[00:33:46] You know what I mean?

[00:33:48] You know, it's purple and gold all day long.

[00:33:53] So this gives me no joy to talk great about the self-ex,

[00:33:58] but we got to do it because this is what we do.

[00:34:01] The other thing that I want to do is give a little shout out

[00:34:04] to my god, Nico, because as soon as the acquisition was made on Christoph of the week, for as

[00:34:11] I guess he said, he said to me, he said, or into everyone who listened, he said,

[00:34:20] the forzenga straight is a completely, this a completely game changer for the Celtics. Um, and I just wanted to my cap to long because the

[00:34:31] Canadian shopping was absolutely right. So shout out to my guy, Nico. As soon as

[00:34:37] that trade was made, it was like, I cannot believe that the Celtics died or fingers. I kind of conclude it a little bit

[00:34:45] because to tell you truth, I wasn't watching a lot of wizards that's before. He's

[00:34:58] getting, he just looks so comfortable. Well, he looks so happy for playing basketball. It's great to see. So for

[00:35:07] shots out to him, shots out to our guy, Chris, so unfortunately against four having to

[00:35:13] say incredible season and adding to this, this juggernaut offensive team, which is the

[00:35:20] boss of Celtics. The Celtics have multiple matchup options. They're quick and

[00:35:26] roll action with course in gives

[00:35:27] the white is devastating. We'll just

[00:35:30] talk about it because for Zingas

[00:35:32] is a threat beyond the hard

[00:35:33] viewpoint line each season 36.9%

[00:35:37] on the season. But when

[00:35:41] course in goes rolls to the

[00:35:42] realm is damn near automatic, he's averaging 1.4 to 0.4 possession

[00:35:52] or taking a role action when he's the roller.

[00:35:55] He's not missing.

[00:35:58] Basically, that's what that's telling you is that he's not missing. Again, for Zingaz, he looks free, he's constantly smiling.

[00:36:10] It looks like he's finally found a home and he's found a right fit.

[00:36:14] And the Celtics and

[00:36:17] Joe Mozilla, Dexter's laboratory guy,

[00:36:21] getting for Zingaz tattoos,

[00:36:24] only averaging these averaging less than

[00:36:27] 13 shots a game. I just want everybody know that. 12.8.

[00:36:35] It's the quality of shots. The story when he gets looks for a very good, I mean,

[00:36:41] they're wide open. They're absolute. There's nobody within 16% of it when you shoot in a dirty.

[00:36:50] It's an incredible situation.

[00:36:53] And then he punches guards in the paper all action.

[00:36:58] Now, I want to talk about two things.

[00:36:59] One, the gun state win, when they won a hundred and forty to eighty eight was, that was the pinnacle of what to look at with the with the Celtics. Of course, English wasn't even on the board.

[00:37:14] But this is the thing with the Celtics. They live and die by the three.

[00:37:19] You know the Celtics are out of being game basically. Half their shots are three point tops.

[00:37:26] Total, like four of the season.

[00:37:30] Now, when you shoot, get the one percent.

[00:37:35] Like they did against the Golden State Warriors off 49 attempts.

[00:37:40] Hell yeah, you're going to score 140 points.

[00:37:43] Again, I'm going to say that again. They shot 51%

[00:37:50] of 49. That means they made 25 degrees of 49. Of course, the Celtics marketing machine is the made incredible strides this year in his leadership and his play on the court of both ends.

[00:38:29] But he is not an MVP at this point in time.

[00:38:35] MVPs are for Shay Gildes Alexander, Yokeed, Ruthah, things like, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know,

[00:38:57] okay. Well, to the other thing that're going to talk about with the Boston Justice because

[00:39:06] just like with the, the sender is like there are a lot of weaknesses with the Celtics to say he gives them a different, a different looking field than

[00:39:29] one market smart ever gave down. And what I mean by that is that he is a little more

[00:39:38] less of a wild car is consistency level or the shot and its consistency level is assisted

[00:39:47] turnover ratio doesn't have a lot of damage. So when you have a guy like that

[00:39:53] who's so steady eddy when it comes to that type of thing, it's hard to look at

[00:39:58] that team and say well where is the fatal flaw? Again the fatal flaw. Again, the fatal flaw right now is are you getting to the basket enough?

[00:40:09] When you drive, you don't have to necessarily kick it every single time. And that might be my

[00:40:16] only little kind of jab at the selfies. But I mean, mean the purpose in the pudding is the record is

[00:40:26] what it is that they're clearly the best came in the NBA as far as

[00:40:32] record is concerned so the Celtics back court of White Holiday has been

[00:40:37] excellent it just ran two lunch fill guys getting in. The willingness for doing screener, being in the screen is,

[00:40:48] the willingness to be the defenders that they need to be.

[00:40:53] The willingness to be the process that they need to be.

[00:40:57] It just one of those.

[00:41:00] It's one of those pertinent storms when it comes to these type of things.

[00:41:03] You see this type of magic every once in a while, but we'll see what it looks like in a

[00:41:08] playoff because the one thing that I do agree with with some other people out there,

[00:41:14] we've always seen it a couple times. When you don't have the best player in a series,

[00:41:25] later in a series you usually lose.

[00:41:27] It's not usually it's like all the time. It's like 99.8% of the time.

[00:41:31] Like the Pistons back in the day, maybe.

[00:41:39] If you wanna tell me,

[00:41:40] you know, San Antonio team, you know,

[00:41:43] wasn't as good as the Miami Heat team. I would tell you

[00:41:46] differently with Tim Duncan on that team, but hey, it is what it is. All right. Um, we'll just see him

[00:41:55] play out. We'll just see what it's going to be like. So, um, I'm, I'm, I'm looking forward to seeing

[00:42:02] what the Celtics are going to do with East. Now, I'm actually looking forward to seeing what the self-deafs are going to do with ease. I'm actually looking forward to seeing if the ease can kind of get right.

[00:42:10] The reason why I say that is that we've got trade, we've got trade young who has a radio

[00:42:20] collateral ligament care in his fifth finger. So he's thinking,

[00:42:25] he's going to be out before weeks. Maybe he would longer.

[00:42:32] You know, we had the, you know, we got the injuries to the New York

[00:42:39] Knicks. We know about the big guy, but don't be right now. Maxie has some concussion.

[00:42:48] Donna, the Mitchell is out.

[00:42:50] He had a plasma.

[00:42:55] A plasma shot.

[00:42:59] I mean, there's just a couple things going on.

[00:43:01] So is it our day?

[00:43:03] Is it he's going to get back healthy and make this a thing?

[00:43:08] Or is this just a coordination for Boston just walking through the East?

[00:43:14] On time will tell.

[00:43:17] On time will tell with that. Go and stay code, Steve Kerr, that extension of two years of 17.5 a year.

[00:43:35] I know he's gone saying over a nice bottle of wine to our guy, Manuel Williams. We'd like to thank Manuel Williams for hijacking up the prices on hit coaches.

[00:43:52] Let's see, let's see, a couple of things,

[00:43:55] couple of things, and then we can get a product here. Okay. I'll hit this.

[00:44:30] So Jordan Cole got managed. I can't believe that the cool party this over man.

[00:44:33] It's crazy.

[00:44:34] For the month of February, he was at 10 point three points again, 5.76.

[00:44:41] Yeah, four boards.

[00:44:43] He's going to shoot in a dismal 30% from the field

[00:44:46] and 25% from three.

[00:44:48] You know, here at Colos,

[00:44:49] we're hanging out there.

[00:44:51] You can't just be canceling the bank.

[00:44:53] He's canceling the best tank commander

[00:44:57] in the business today.

[00:44:59] Shouts out to our guys, Jordan Poole.

[00:45:02] You got a couple of games off the fence though

[00:45:04] that looked really good good so hopefully you can

[00:45:06] get back in a good place and get everything gathered.

[00:45:17] As we are out to do in today's society we gloss over everything. I don't even blame, I don't even blame you because

[00:45:27] the total accessibility of pretty much everything, whether it's frequent or immediate highlights,

[00:45:38] you know, whatever. I mean, you can get, when music dropped, it's right there. I remember we had to wait high for stuff like this.

[00:45:49] It's just, it is what it is, what it is today.

[00:45:53] Wait, I think sometimes it doesn't make things

[00:45:56] as special as what they could be.

[00:46:01] I remember when I was younger,

[00:46:04] there was a show that I really loved that was called

[00:46:07] George Michael Sports Machine. Imagine this is so funny. So imagine younger generation It's late Sunday night, like 1145, something like that.

[00:46:27] And like, you and your partners are hanging out and you're hyped up about George Michael

[00:46:34] Sport Machine.

[00:46:36] It was a sports highlight show that aired like after your local moves.

[00:46:49] But I remember me and my guy will

[00:46:53] we watched that in B-Lide. So deep for the highlights.

[00:46:58] You know, because that's when you would get them.

[00:47:01] You know, because the news at that point in time, you know, they give the sports probably

[00:47:08] about three minutes for minutes tops and they had, they hit their local stuff, maybe

[00:47:13] a couple national things if it was like incredible.

[00:47:17] But they didn't give you like, oh, we're going to get Atlanta hog highlights.

[00:47:21] We're going to give you Chicago bull highlights.

[00:47:24] We're going to give you Minnesota Atlanta Hall highlights. We're gonna get you Chicago Bulls highlights. We're gonna give you Minnesota Tim will wolves highlights.

[00:47:28] It was like, it's gonna give you local,

[00:47:33] whatever the greatest thing happened up national,

[00:47:36] and that was it.

[00:47:37] So it's something happening really dope

[00:47:40] in the Cleveland Cavalier game.

[00:47:41] We were not gonna get that.

[00:47:44] But George Michael Sports machine on Sunday night, dope in the Cleveland Cavalier game, we were not going to get that.

[00:47:45] But George Michael Sports was shooting on Sunday night.

[00:47:49] We were kidding that.

[00:47:51] We were super excited about it.

[00:47:54] But we would sit down and watch it and we would watch for a lot of Sean Kemp, Doug's

[00:48:03] Jordan, neat highlights.

[00:48:09] But our singular focus was on that 40 minutes show.

[00:48:15] Could some every minute of it we enjoy this so much.

[00:48:20] It's funny as cynical as we were of trades.

[00:48:27] I don't think we ever commented on how we did this funny.

[00:48:39] You think about yourself. I think about myself then.

[00:48:42] It's like typical teenage guy, you know,

[00:48:47] all that trade was stupid. This dude was trash while they, you know, why they trade for

[00:48:52] him and stuff like that. Now, getting back to the George Michael sports machine, I don't

[00:49:00] think I ever commented on how ridiculous the George Michael actually found a so-called

[00:49:07] sports machine.

[00:49:09] They think we hit an actual button and then voila highlights.

[00:49:18] But now performance is coming out and with the advent of Mewtwo and X quarter, the immediacy of the next great scoring output

[00:49:31] for a cycle nutty dump or even trade rumors or even a de-occ occasional athlete trip up and you said something about the laboratory

[00:49:45] out of press conference.

[00:49:49] We don't

[00:49:52] we don't make time to truly like celebrate these moments.

[00:49:56] Not because we're being a spoil, but actually

[00:50:00] with all of these

[00:50:02] tech, basically with all the technical art goal advancements that we've had nothing is it's a moment it is what it actually

[00:50:12] is it's a moment in time so when you see somebody score 73 points or you see

[00:50:19] somebody score 60 or you see somebody score 55 and 3 quarters of a quarter, you see a

[00:50:28] done. Well, there's going to be the next highlight in the next two minutes that we didn't

[00:50:36] have back in the depth. So we could talk about like a neat, dominant Dominique Wilkins done for like two days in school.

[00:50:48] Now this is me, it doesn't make us better make you worse anything like that.

[00:50:54] This is not why I'm bringing it up, but what I am doing is that what I talked about when we first got on is we want to celebrate these moments and make

[00:51:09] these moments mean something a little bit, right?

[00:51:14] Because it is kind of cool to score 73 points or 70 or 65 or whatever it is. It's cool to see Nerkids get like 30 rebounds and again.

[00:51:29] These are awesome. These are some things that we should talk about

[00:51:34] for a couple of days. They should not be something that we talked about for once

[00:51:40] second and then we move on to the next thing and then we're back into our

[00:51:45] take weight world and who's right who's wrong who's this who's trash who's whatever

[00:51:53] but again like I said this is not discouragement on anybody this is just basically we look

[00:51:58] in at it and seeing it and thinking about like how I used to really consume sports and media

[00:52:05] thinking about like I used to really consume sports and media. The great thing about now is that you really can't get true.

[00:52:12] You really have enough numbers to back up your theory.

[00:52:15] You can imagine video with statistics and say, okay, this is matching up.

[00:52:20] There's so many good things about it, but there are some things that are a little bit of a drawback where I

[00:52:28] Don't know if the young generation talks about finally like oh, where were you when you know books for seven?

[00:52:37] You know, I don't know if that has the same weight

[00:52:42] To it as like

[00:52:52] Let's say if you were in the 90s and you saw Vince Carter go off for 56 against somebody.

[00:52:57] Them dudes were talking about that for two or three days.

[00:53:01] No doubt. know how. And there have been games in you know that have overshot overshout one another

[00:53:09] because it was so close together or whatever the case may be. But we still have space for

[00:53:17] the game that the due score 56 and then somebody scored 60. And now it just seems we don't.

[00:53:26] Because it just comes out so fast.

[00:53:28] Which is, I mean, what is supposed to be, obviously.

[00:53:32] You know, it's what it is.

[00:53:34] We wanted it, we craved it, and now we got it.

[00:53:40] But I want all of us to take a beat

[00:53:42] and hear and actively listen to the other side, to form an opinion.

[00:53:50] All the highlights, the YouTube, the TikTok, the clips, all the numbers and all the analytics,

[00:53:57] all those who grind tape or grind video, and watch all the games.

[00:54:03] Here's the one thing that I do want to say is that we're all part of the same community.

[00:54:08] Hopefully this podcast can bring all of us under the same month, brother.

[00:54:16] Analytics and shit offers.

[00:54:22] The breakdowns and the player comp people.

[00:54:25] That's what I hope.

[00:54:27] We've said we can combine all of it together, have good conversations and be in that mode.

[00:54:34] Let's divide some myths and more, more co-teamship.

[00:54:40] That's what I'm looking for.

[00:54:42] That's the platform that I want to.

[00:54:45] All right.

[00:54:46] Couple other things that we want to talk about a little bit is,

[00:54:53] Sacramento.

[00:54:55] Hmm.

[00:55:02] They stuck it to the Lakers last night.

[00:55:06] It wasn't that they stuck to the Lakers.

[00:55:10] But this team is basically about the same as it were last year.

[00:55:15] But there's no fault of that.

[00:55:18] But the West got so much better.

[00:55:21] And now with that being a state, chose to bring that, all their dudes.

[00:55:30] They chose to bring back Harrison Blond's, they resized Deontis of honest when they didn't

[00:55:35] have to, but they did.

[00:55:37] They wanted good faith situation and wanted to make sure they took care of that.

[00:55:41] They did.

[00:55:42] But they didn't go out of grade.

[00:55:45] And I wonder, and I think we talked about this

[00:55:49] in an earlier podcast.

[00:55:51] Now, there's something we said if there's not the right deal

[00:55:55] out there, don't make a deal,

[00:55:56] don't make a deal, just to make a deal, right?

[00:56:00] But I look at this situation and I look at it and go,

[00:56:03] I wonder what they could do now.

[00:56:08] You know what they have

[00:56:10] with the money that is now, you know, basically caught up with the players that they have.

[00:56:16] What's their flexibility standpoint?

[00:56:19] We'll get more into this as we start getting closer to the offseason.

[00:56:23] We'll have like team check out some things that nature.

[00:56:27] I look forward to that.

[00:56:28] That's going to be great in the offseason.

[00:56:30] But I just feel kind of bad for him

[00:56:33] because they're kind of in the stuff in the same place.

[00:56:36] It doesn't mean they're necessarily a bad team.

[00:56:39] They're a very good team.

[00:56:40] They're very exciting, daring boxes.

[00:56:43] Amazing the game that he plays with

[00:56:45] Demontis of all this is incredible to watch.

[00:56:49] What can you see that they're missing something?

[00:56:55] And my thought is, it is so, you can get good.

[00:57:03] But when you get good, it's really hard to get great.

[00:57:08] You know, I'm saying it's really, really hard to get to that next level.

[00:57:13] And I look forward to seeing what, um,

[00:57:17] money may narrow the guy's due open-saturamental with that situation.

[00:57:22] Okay, the couple of things that we have to talk about, man,

[00:57:28] Carl Anthony channels, her torn meniscus. It couldn't happen in the worst time for the Minnesota

[00:57:36] Temple walls. Who are having just an incredible season? Looking great. Playing excellent basketball.

[00:57:49] season. Looking great. Playing excellent basketball. There was a report that it could have been season ending now. They're kind of walking that one back. I wonder why I don't have any news,

[00:57:56] any anything on this as it yet. But man, heart goes out to the car, Anthony Towne.

[00:58:05] I've been hard on him on this particular podcast.

[00:58:09] But when he's done this year, the way he's been able

[00:58:13] to play his role, I know sometimes he's still shaky

[00:58:17] and we're still, you know, we got questions in the playoffs.

[00:58:21] Let's be real honest about what it is.

[00:58:23] We got questions about what he is in the playoffs.

[00:58:27] But this season, you can't doubt what he's done. I'm excited. I was really excited to see what this

[00:58:34] playoff run was going to be like, but now the expectations have been gamped with a little bit. And now it's just,

[00:58:42] I don't even know if he can get healthy before the end of the year because

[00:58:47] there's a question about MB, right? And all new injuries are different, whatever location

[00:58:53] be when they're in different stages of their lives and all that. But I wonder if this is

[00:59:07] I wonder if this is it, this is it, this is it, this is an, and then, you know, we just, we're running back next year.

[00:59:12] But it's a, it's a hard pill to swallow for the middle of the terminal of fans.

[00:59:16] We feel for you and man.

[00:59:19] The good thing about this is not read. Nazri is going to be a minute. I'm excited about that part. I'm also excited

[00:59:25] as well. Does this mean that if Nazri gets bumped up to the starting

[00:59:31] rotation, does this mean that Leonard Miller, the second round pick, that we got in

[00:59:39] the 2023 NBA draft, is he now get minutes where those were the nine three minutes. So does

[00:59:47] does really take over the call if in tell minutes and limit Miller take over the

[00:59:54] nine three minutes? That's the question. That's the question I have and we're going to get

[01:00:00] answers on that and we're going to get to these games as of right now. So again, apologize for the week off.

[01:00:09] We were having a bunch of technical difficulties.

[01:00:11] Again, I also say user error.

[01:00:14] So my bad on that as well.

[01:00:17] But we will be back on this feed,

[01:00:22] my jet guarantee Monday, and then you'll have a call. Later on the week, just like today, money, debt guarantee, Monday, and then you'll have a

[01:00:26] call later on the week, just like today, Thursday, we will not

[01:00:30] be there for us out and we will get them to you as quickly as we

[01:00:36] possibly can. Again, I want to thank everybody out there who is consuming the pot.

[01:00:46] The numbers have been growing.

[01:00:49] Thank you so much.

[01:00:51] It is impressive what the YouTube channel has done

[01:00:56] over the last couple months.

[01:00:57] Thank you so much again.

[01:01:00] Be a friend, telefriend.

[01:01:02] Tell them what the pod is all about

[01:01:06] We're looking to do some sort of expansion. I'm not gonna even talk about that part of it right now

[01:01:12] But the one thing that I can't clue in is it's just that I am personally working on something and

[01:01:21] I'll give you a sneak peek to it

[01:01:25] What do NBA basketball fans love a lot?

[01:01:30] They love their rankings and they love player comments.

[01:01:36] And I think I have a way to do the player comments.

[01:01:42] You know, real, innovative way you know, way where we can

[01:01:47] shed some light on some of our history of the game and what have we. And as we get closer and closer

[01:01:55] and closer to that, and I don't think it's too far away, I want to say that I would love to have this up and running by the end of the month.

[01:02:11] But as I continue to push through this process, I'm really excited.

[01:02:18] And I think you guys are too, because if you're who fans like I'm a who fan and y'all are nerds for basketball, like I'm an urban basketball, I think you guys are

[01:02:23] going to enjoy

[01:02:25] this deal. I will guarantee that when we do this,

[01:02:30] when we do this player-conf thing,

[01:02:33] it will absolutely be on YouTube.

[01:02:37] 100% guarantee you will have no questions about that because

[01:02:42] I will consider this ever-bring content. I think you guys will

[01:02:47] go back to it. You guys will tell your friends about it. You guys will like use this and

[01:02:53] argument some things of that nature. So I'm really, really excited about it and I hope you guys are too.

[01:03:01] So with that being said, I want to,

[01:03:05] I want to thank my wife.

[01:03:07] I want to thank my Lord and Savior.

[01:03:10] And I want to thank you guys again for this,

[01:03:13] this, this chance to talk with you

[01:03:17] and give me some information and hopefully,

[01:03:19] hopefully entertain you.

[01:03:21] That's the, that's the main goal.

[01:03:23] So we will be back on this feed again.

[01:03:25] Like I said on Monday and then we'll have a quick pod later on in the week. Y'all stay easy

[01:03:31] and enjoy the game and we'll see you down the road. Peace!
