[00:00:00] All right, it's Thursday and we are doing our NBA Prediction Show. It is what you do your whole events. I'm doing a solo today and I'm gonna excited to do this with you guys because it is now really the NBA season pretty much everybody is
[00:00:28] going to be played by the time you hear this. And then the West card about it is that we got to see some of it. Some of the some of the workies we got to see
[00:00:40] some of the other guys, you know, different faces in different places, that type of thing and I'm just happy to be here with you today. Now what we're gonna do was we're gonna do like, MVP, working the year six man, defensive player the
[00:01:01] year, most improved. I think I got workies and things that nature and then we just kind of go from there. We're gonna talk it through a little bit. I'm not just gonna give them to you. We'll kind of set the stage sort of speak and let's
[00:01:26] start with most improved because I believe there's a ton of candidates for this. I think there are decent surprise ones that come up out of the world works as we move along in the season because with the NBA, the unexpected is the expected.
[00:01:46] Let's just be honest about it. The first name that I want to bring up and actually I want to bring them up because of the fact that I did see his first game yesterday is K, he's cutting him. Now K is cutting back off the entry that
[00:02:02] he played 12 games last year and now he's coming back. The problem that I think K is going to be a lot better. The team right now doesn't fit him and that might be a problem but I think that he's going to be spectacular this year. I just I
[00:02:25] worry about the space. I worry about the lack of space and also it's just a team that has so many bigs and it's just the lack of shooting is alarming on this team. So obviously I think they're going to try to play this year out maybe go
[00:02:50] back into the draft and get another player and maybe this one will fit better or they might still be in a collection of talent situation because the one thing I've been talking
[00:03:02] with a lot of my guys with is that it doesn't seem to make any sense just the roster itself. And albeit on their own very talented IV during Isaiah Stewart, our store Thompson. All these guys are very talented on their own but collectively they just don't fit together.
[00:03:27] So I'm worried about that as far as I had him as a most improved candidate but we'll see how the year goes. The next guy on the list is some kill bridges we saw him in Brooklyn when
[00:03:41] he got traded for Kevin Durant. We saw him not just step up his game as far as points but just what he actually could do and to me that was very impressive knowing that well A they didn't
[00:04:02] key for you so you got to kind of develop your skills a little bit but it was impressive that he was now like as he went into the playoffs last year and everybody knows that he was the target.
[00:04:16] He did still play well so I'm impressed with him. I think they're still another level that he can get to and I'll be very interested to see how that plays out. Now what what Hotsie him a little
[00:04:32] bit and I think that's what we're going to do with all the players here. What Hotsie him a little bit is that their point guard play. Now Ben Simmons is back. He's running the offense and we'll see
[00:04:45] how it all goes. I don't I'm not clear on how that's going to work. We'll just see now all we heard from camp and all we heard from Ben is that I feel I feel the best I've ever felt
[00:05:04] since last couple of years we have nightmare all this type of stuff but until he's on the court and really doing it and we saw one game so far. Next results I don't know how it really affects
[00:05:22] Mikael bridges in a positive way but here's the thing they do have a lot of assets and they do have pieces so if they do want to go get somebody who's like a floor general they do have
[00:05:35] the capability of doing so but the problem is right now with Mikael bridges is his point guard play or lack there up. The next guy on my list that I don't want to talk about and I want to do it
[00:05:49] as a duel. Franz Wagner and Polo Boncaro both should take a leap this year. Franz played excellent in international play during summer. I think we'll see that come in to this season as well. Polo Boncaro actually played the five on USA basketball this year which was interesting.
[00:06:17] They're going to do it a little bit as well with the with the Orlando Magic as well so that should be very interesting to see how that all kind of plays out. I just think that they're very talented
[00:06:31] those two. They're going to have a ball in their hands and they play it well together last year and I just think when you have continuity like that and you have talent like that you're going to
[00:06:42] have a situation where it all comes together and I think that's where we might be headed towards with Franz and Polo Boncaro. The other couple guys on my list, JW in okay see that is the
[00:07:02] Santa Clara J. J. Williams. I mean he was so impressive his rookie year. I think there's so much more still to the game. Now he does have SGA who also people are saying could be like a shadow
[00:07:19] candidate for MVP. That could hold him back a little bit but they play so on selfish and they play together and it really is kind of like an AAU mentality with this group. I think he has a shot of
[00:07:39] really elevating his point total and put his name in the case for most improved player. Anthony Edwards is the case where this is kind of like the John Marant case if he's going to step
[00:07:56] his game up to that level where you're kind of we're knocking on the door a like Dame and things of this nature. Anthony Edwards has all the tools. Everybody knows that I love him.
[00:08:12] I love this kid. I love his mentality. I love how ferocious he is on the court. His competitiveness. This kid really believes like he can do anything and it's so refreshing to see him when he does
[00:08:27] interviews and things that nature but the one thing that you can expect is that I think what he might have learned at in USA International Play is that leadership is different and I think we're going to
[00:08:41] see a different type of Anthony Edwards this year and I look forward to another jump which is scary and I just wonder now the hindrance for Anthony Edwards. We we've been getting in
[00:08:56] in with everybody else but the hindrance for Anthony Edwards to me will give the ability of what call Anthony Italians is able to give them on the defensive end and what have you. Not saying
[00:09:10] he has play like light out defensive now what I'm talking about but be more comfortable in his world as kind of like the secondary guy not take shocks from aunt and allow the natural
[00:09:24] progression of aunt just becoming the dominant offensive hub that he needs to be for this team to get to where it needs to go. Now let's get to our last guy at the home repair obviously Austin Reeves
[00:09:41] the reason why Austin Reeves is in this he was also an international play we always look for the guy who's going to make the jump and usually there was a one or two and with Reeves we saw it
[00:09:54] last year we saw it in the playoffs just how comfortable he is in the offense how the command that he has within his own game is so efficient he plays with a a tenaciousness that belies his athleticism and the thing that I'll absolutely love about them
[00:10:21] is that he's not backing down from anyone so he's another guy that I'm looking for as far as most improve here's the other thing was the handerance right D-Low D-Low's the handerance
[00:10:37] we saw it first night we're going to see tonight we'll see how it all goes but first night D-Low was Uber aggressive and D-Low needs to understand that he needs to take a tertiary roll
[00:10:52] how let's you go how the pecking orders should go it should be 80 LeBron Austin 80 LeBron Austin that's how let's you go now the fourth guy if you want to say the
[00:11:05] Angela Russell is the fourth guy that's fine but when I saw what I saw in the first game and seeing D-Low being aggressive like that now I understand it's the first game and you're kind of going
[00:11:18] through the motions and whatever and just trying to figure everything out even though you play preseason the bullets are a little bit faster during the regular season no doubt but we got to see a decline in the productivity or actually yeah the productivity of D-Low
[00:11:38] and the incline of Austin ready so that's what his detraction would be with that being said all the guys that I sit here and I think who could really make the leap I'm kind of stuck
[00:11:55] between Polo Bancaro and Jaylon William so let me see who I'm going to go with here give me Jay to give me Jay to him okay see shots out to okay see thunder friends who show a lot

[00:12:52] of what he does he's a complete minutes now last year he did not get ding for the foul situation in the lack of minutes he played I wonder if that catches up with him this year so you want to look for
[00:13:05] a detraction from from Jiren Jackson Jr in Memphis is that one he's not playing with John Moran not saying that jaws of the defensive player because he's not actually this one my
[00:13:20] help him early in the year but the thing about triple Jay and he you saw it in a national play you saw it in the playoffs and you saw it all last year and he gets in foul trouble so he's on the
[00:13:36] floorless so these things can happen so keep the lookout for that Evan mobiley a Cleveland now everybody wants to meet the kind of just back off this dude while you still showing him love
[00:13:52] Vince he really hasn't put it together first game still look like a lot of the same of Evan mobiley we saw last year but they have said they will use him differently and Cleveland he'll be
[00:14:05] more involved in the the career of the defense so I'm kind of excited about that he'll have a more expanded role in that which is also good you just kind of also think at some point he's
[00:14:22] going to put it together it's not like he's not a hard working kid it's not like he's not trying it's not like any of that you just wonder when the light bulb will come on is this the year
[00:14:34] the next guy is a guy that I absolutely love and the reason why I love him is because he's a complete warrior he's a complete animal uh bam out of the aisle Miami it was impressive what they did last year
[00:14:51] I mean every single damn playoff series everybody's like this they have to end now it has to end now and it never did downplay better offensively in the playoffs as well last year which was kind of
[00:15:09] a little of a kind of going hmm I wonder if this kid translate into next year but when you're this depleted and Miami is going to be good no matter what it's
[00:15:25] Spolestar Jim brother bam you know what it is you know what the vibe is down in Miami we just keep it grimy and we just do what we need to do so we all that going on he's gonna have to
[00:15:39] remain the shot of being a defensive player that year he's always around as far as all NBA and things of that nature so I think he has an incredible shot at doing this now the next one
[00:15:54] Nick Clarkston now Nick Clarkston a lot of people had him on like all defensive teams last year and then Clarkston played very very well for the Brooklyn nets he's gonna get a chance to do it
[00:16:10] again this year the thing with Nick Clarkston is this he has the advantage of McCell bridges and Cam Johnson and some dudes that want to guard and it been Simmons is healthy
[00:16:29] watch out he might have a shot at this now it will also tie into what they do as far as how successful they are now this team can kind of pull it together and they're kind of like a rag
[00:16:44] tag group and it kind of is reminiscent to the team's previous before the Kyrie KD unhoney union we can see Nick Clarkston really vying for this award another guy that I want
[00:17:01] to get some love to I don't know if he'll win it but I think he'll get some consideration just because of the fact that I think there is another leap for him Walker Kessler of the Utah Jazz
[00:17:13] absolutely love this kid what a great trade they made it was like okay we get another go there younger cheaper and we get pigs yay what's up what we're doing here let's do this so Walker Kessler is
[00:17:29] another guy Homer pick obviously Anthony Davis and Los Angeles Lakers now here's the thing Anthony Davis could win this award he really could now the problem is to stay at the Angela Russell's off of on his team and the Angela Russell is going to miss some assignments
[00:17:48] it happened in the first game it's gonna happen all year the Angela will try on defense he's just not really a good defender you know there's no shame in that you know it's it is what it is he's
[00:17:59] slow for it he's not he doesn't move literally quickly it is what it is and he hasn't learned how to use his size as an advantage as some other defenders have done a lot of Marcus smart
[00:18:16] right drew holiday those guys have learned how to use their size they're string to kind of you know move people out of position suddenly so lead these kind of glimishes that he will be
[00:18:31] clan with the Angela Russell and also he'll be less face facts LeBron James is 38 years old he'll be 39 in December and he's gone miss some assignments as well so there's a lot to clean up there now
[00:18:47] if you can get anything from Jackson Hayes now I hope you can hear the dismay in my voice when I say that if I'm looking at Jackson Hayes and I'm looking at Christian wood as my guys who are going to help
[00:19:03] me on the on the on the back end I may as well just give up this dream will become a defensive player of the year now really on the other hand has shown well some defensive chops
[00:19:17] getting away from Washington seems to have done wonders for Ruri Hachamura but those are my picks for that now I guess I got a pick a guy you know what give me bam out of bio I think just
[00:19:34] the story with the day last year what's going on with them now it's just a great story it's you know you know how these things go it's a narrative so bam out of bio as my defensive player of the year
[00:19:49] now we move on to six men of the year you got your couple like usual suspects right you got ignoring power the clippers you got a manual quickly of the New York NYX you also have a bobby
[00:20:06] portus of the Milwaukee bucks and there's a couple of the guys we're going to talk about here normal you know what he is he's a bucket gitter I mean he can average 17 18 points
[00:20:19] again in his sleep is no problem there let's see where he ends up is does he stay a clipper because that's the word right now as of Thursday the 26th of October
[00:20:33] normal power is still a clipper and the trade talks seem to have backed off a little bit the hardened antics have gotten to a level that even the clippers who need help
[00:20:47] have decided hey let's pop the breaks on this maybe we can go another route James is playing himself out of money all right so there's normal power now a manual quickly is on the New York NYX
[00:21:05] which is obviously one of the greatest cities as far as basketball as concerned he's going to be on TV a lot he plays in a system where TIGs does allow him to do that now his kind of flaw in his pursuit
[00:21:23] of this award is that they also sigh Dante Diven Chenzel and you know how much how much TIGs loves defense so if a manual quickly misses some assignments or whatever I can see quickly ended up in the
[00:21:40] dog house and not being able to get this award but quickly has really been other than like Derek Rose Tiff does a light plan of workings a manual quickly has found a way to kind of stay around
[00:21:59] the rotation stay around the rotation and then play a role and be able to get a significant role on the team so if anybody can go through the crucible that is a ton of Tiff it'll it's him so
[00:22:17] a manual quickly is another guy bobby court is is going to be very important for Milwaukee because just the lack of depth that they have lost with the day and trade and also he's going to
[00:22:29] get easier shots if he's on the court with those two guys there's no way that he's not going to get better shots and they're going to be wide open so look for Bobby to have a really big year now
[00:22:43] for the three guys who are kind of making kind like their debut in this situation now for your so my submission to the who heads out there I got Malik Mark of the Sacramento Kings I just think
[00:22:59] high volume score comes off the bench you know Mike Brown kind of lets him do what he needs to do out there he had a massive dunk last night man that dunk last night was amazing he ended
[00:23:14] that guy so R. I. K to his family whoever that guy was who got dunked on so on that note um Mark is just he's playing on a good team he's playing on team that's going to be competitive
[00:23:28] he's going to be vital to them getting to wherever they're going to go and let's see Malik Mark and the Sacramento Kings like the being a lot this year a lot let's see that the other two
[00:23:42] one is funny to me and one is kind of funny and serious pain pressure of the boss in Celtics now Loki he saw a dig a riggy extension it wasn't for a lot of money but he did sign it
[00:23:58] now pain pressure for last couple years have been complaining about his role and when I say complaining don't take it like he's been like bitch and about it he has asked for more opportunities
[00:24:11] it's not been this like contentious deal okay so pump the brakes there's no no aggregation here alright now he's going to get a more expanded role this year just because of the fact that
[00:24:25] they have now taken hits with their depth because of some of the trades they made a lot Christophe Prosengus and also the Drew holiday trade so without all getting said Peyton Pritzard should be running the bench unit and he is going to get buckets
[00:24:44] he is going to get them and they're going to need him to get it because they're trying to push to tempo they want to play out a faster pace but they definitely still want to shoot threes
[00:24:54] and if they want to shoot threes Peyton Pritzard is your guy alright last but not least here we got Chris Paul okay so CP3 we got him now obviously with with a
[00:25:12] Drainman not on the court right now you know you might see him start more you might you know I don't know how to win for role it's going to kill but eventually what's going to end
[00:25:22] of happening is that Chris Paul is going to go to the bench that's going to be his role and there it is right if he's going to help a high profile still curried lead
[00:25:37] Golden State Warders team to a very good record in a regular season I think after last year I think curr and the brain trust of Golden State they see the importance of
[00:25:53] well first of all they need to see the importance of winning on the road because they didn't do a lot of that last year okay so there's one with that I think they were like 11 and 40 or 11 and 30
[00:26:04] something like that not great um the other thing is just that the regular season has to be important because seating is going to be important because the less is the absolute dumpster fire because every team is a contender for some reason somehow some reason
[00:26:21] everybody can talk themselves into it but if CP3 is leading a bench unit and doing crushed time minutes and he's doing Chris Paul things and let's say for some reason stat line isn't awesome awesome but let's say it's like 9 10 points
[00:26:39] but he obviously pretty good to sit right let's say he's everything like 6 sits and like 3 3 great rounds Chris Paul might be in the mix on something like this and we'll see how this excram and girls because this is crazy. Golden State is super small now I know Jordan

[00:30:57] opportunities and kind of come out and know where and kind of be able to average big points and let's say you know seeing from ms67 oh you know Taylor Hendrix and I'm gonna play it 10
[00:31:21] it was case of Wallace 11 so probably not I'm trying to think of a guy who might be able to come on a nowhere and kind of snatch this award I really don't think so I think if you look
[00:31:33] at the San Antonio Squares game they had Jeremy Sohan planned the point guard position and they had in Victor really planned the small forward I think this year is an experimental year on San
[00:31:45] Antonio and they gone allow Victor to do everything so big Vic is going to be out there he's going to be amazing us with his play and some of the things he does and to me Victor when
[00:31:58] why yamma is the rookie of the year the only thing that holds him back is playing the games it is he going get to 65 is he going get to the amount uh school to Henderson to me I love school so I'm
[00:32:13] not going even be um just why don't look before I didn't sell any of my school stock after last night you know he was going up against the clippers they're long they got all the wings they're
[00:32:28] the wings fans are crazy you know sure they put clodling on them a lot because there's nobody else there he is the guy so school there's going to see you know I don't know how many teams going to be doing
[00:32:42] that but uh maybe maybe school when we get to see the second game will show us something I think homegirl is just going to be solid I think he's going to be the just the quintessential
[00:32:57] complementary piece to SGA and J. Doug and I'm not saying that he's playing third fiddle and doing all this other stuff but he clearly cares about defense and he clearly cares about
[00:33:09] rebounding and block your shots and I'm not saying he doesn't care about offense he has a really good bag offensively and it showed up throughout the preseason I don't have a lot of worries about
[00:33:21] shit um obviously he's going to get bullied because he is slight um but he might be a guy because that he's going to start and also okay see how the chance to do something real special they might
[00:33:37] this team might make a playoff run so let's get all that together as well right um but a victor is my guy I just think that if he stays healthy um and they monitor him they get him
[00:33:54] through the regular season and I think I think he's going to I think he's going to average like 18 I think the blocks which weren't plentiful last night because there was only one I think they
[00:34:10] will come with time I just think he got him foul trouble it didn't it didn't go well and then he showed up in the fourth quarter and damn near got that team of victory so keep that in mind as well
[00:34:22] all right MVP now yoke jiannis and in beat will yoke jiannis are like the top two going into the year and really tell you true that's probably where you kind of need to look at
[00:34:36] now Jason Tatum is getting buzz as well up in Boston and I'm not saying that he wouldn't be able to do it but there's a ton of talent on that team as well yoke we all know he he's such a tremendous player
[00:34:52] we saw it all into finals and all throughout the playoffs so I would have no problem taking a a favorite in this situation but if you want somebody who's kind on outskirts put
[00:35:07] I'm here and everybody's starting to say his name a lot so I feel good that I was also on the right track Kevin Booker I've had conversations with a guy's eye trust at follow-league and um
[00:35:21] a guy who who I think is a real strict evaluator who really doesn't give a lot of credit to a lot of people so when he gives out any kind of platitudes I'm very like keen to hear him shots out to Momo
[00:35:39] he said that Booker has a dark horse running him and it was something that I would have had said earlier if you check out our pod that previewed every team their star the leap player

[00:36:55] going to see the rampment game bill already missed a game this is going to be super crazy I think that Devon Booker has an outside chance to win the MVP this year. I might say in that Yokech
[00:37:12] won't win it or Yannets won't win it I'm just saying that if Booker comes off strong you know how people love new when it comes to MVP if this dude is doing what he was doing in the playoffs last
[00:37:24] year. Hilly in that consideration yes Yannets will be there yes Yokech will be there but Devon Booker what also will be there as well so Jason Tatum is another guy he could have lost a game first
[00:37:38] game out and they needed every last bit of it because the New York tri-hard nicks who are just going to grind every game down they're going to be in so many clutch games somebody
[00:37:52] from that team was probably going to be the clutch player of the year but yeah Devon Booker was phenomenal in his first game so yeah I could see he's way bigger he looks like he put on like
[00:38:05] 10 15 pounds and it's solid so it looks like he's you know trying to take a lead and we'll see how it all goes now okay all NBA team I'm gonna lead that alone for right now I like I like
[00:38:25] watching the players before I like you know getting in there I think there's a and because of the if the influx of the young guys I think all NBA is going to be harder to pick than any time
[00:38:39] probably within last 10 years but as far as all rookie I think it's pretty easy actually it's a Victor Wing by Yamaha Chet Hongran scoot hinders in and then the Thompson twins all rookie first team and then second team Balal Kulabale or Washington
[00:38:57] shots out to the Wizards Derek Lively Jr. of the Dallas Mavericks shots out to the Mavs greatie dick of the Toronto Raptors Jaime Highcast Jr. of the Miami Heat and Brandon Miller of the Charlotte Hornets I think Brandon Miller showed up so well in his first game
[00:39:20] we question the dribbling we question does he have moves to get himself open and create offense well here if you got the mellow ball you don't have to create nothing when you got the mellow
[00:39:37] it's like it's on a gravy kid but he did do a couple things you also try to in somebody's life he missed a dunk but he tried to in somebody's life as well so Brandon Miller
[00:39:48] actually surprised me a little bit and I look forward to seeing how he plays in Charlotte I'm just I'm so mad at Charlotte with all the other stuff that's going on that's like off the court
[00:39:59] but we're not going to get into that this is a celebration day all right um let's see is it the Thompson twins I just think they're gonna have enough opportunities on their team

[00:55:39] what good player a whole people accountable play good defense things of that nature can hit you a shot so I think Memphis 10 I think they just have enough talent to hold off the rest of the
[00:55:56] teams and so let's get to Dallas Dallas is 11 now if for some reason any of these teams have injuries or whatever the case may be obviously Dallas is going to be one of these teams
[00:56:09] that snakes into the plant Dallas I am Lucas incredible Kyrie is one of the most gifted offensive players I've ever seen the only problem that I see is that there's a ton of youth
[00:56:27] that they're counting on starting so I'm a little worried about that what happens when Kyrie and Luca aren't playing or not in the game I'm a little worried about that so that's why I have the
[00:56:47] Dallas Maverick set 11 at 12 I have the Houston Rockets it's going to be I think they're first 40 very rough if you look at their first game they looked out of sorts they looked disjoyed
[00:57:02] they didn't look like they were playing together you're going to see a lot of that early on but Emea Delca is a really really good coach I think he's trying to see what he has
[00:57:17] I think the second 40 the second 40 games for the Houston Rockets is going to be really really great you're going to start to see like the formation of what the future is going to look like so
[00:57:29] I look forward to that but I have them 12 I had the Utah Jazz 13 now I think this is more of I don't know if they feel was encouraged to win this is put it that way I think the jazz do take a step back it has nothing
[00:57:52] do with the talent it has nothing to do with the outstanding draft that they had I read at all I just wonder do they there's a front office want to win it's not the players

[00:59:00] year allowed us to do what he needs to do he's just gonna amazing everything on night we're going to tune in and hey at the games or clothes at the end that's all we care about
[00:59:12] and number 15 no surprise Portland Trailblazers it's a tough year for them but this is kind of what they needed they needed a pallet cleanser their I think this is I think this is what they need to do
[00:59:29] I love school I love that they have shading sharp up there and for any Simon's they do have a couple of vets they have a number one pick in overall in a deodry eight in as well
[00:59:45] I just think rookie point guards it's hard it's hard to lead it's really hard to play so I look forward to seeing just their development but I don't think they're going to win the
