[00:00:11] Welcome back to Front Runner Podcast Collective. This is the part two of the episode. This just can't be it. And in the first episode, one of the three teams that have had kind of interesting off seasons.

[00:00:25] So go check that out. It was Atlanta. It was Utah and it was New Orleans. And in this episode, we're going to hit three other teams. But before we do that, let's hit the socials.

[00:00:40] X. So get with Front Runner PC and then the producers are at Rhea underscore. Funch FRPC. They had their own little dialogue that goes on on that. It's crazy to me. So go ahead, check that out.

[00:01:02] Also go to the YouTube channel. The YouTube channel has some really cool things on it. The last one we did was basically using lyrics from the Anthony David, India, our Rhea song.

[00:01:17] More than words or nothing but words. And we weaved it into what's going on with the lakers. Pretty proud of it. So go check that out. Also subscribe to the channel like comment because then I'll go ahead and come back.

[00:01:36] I'll go ahead and then coming back to you. The other thing is what else is there? Oh yeah, I'm sorry. Tired late night. So the actual podcast we talked about it on the first one.

[00:01:51] We're going to talk about it again on this one. We are grateful for all the downloads that we're getting. It looks like we're going to break the record that we had our individual record that we had last month into this month.

[00:02:04] So kudos to everybody out there, but we have to continue. Be a friend, tell the friend that everybody know about the podcast. If you like basketball, if you like on draft stuff, if you like rumors, if you like fun.

[00:02:22] I think this is the podcast that you can come and get those things from and you can also get some information as well.

[00:02:29] So we hope hopefully we cater to a lot of different people and we are looking to grow. So we do that with you. So please be a friend and tell a friend. And then at the end of this pod, we didn't give you on the first one.

[00:02:47] So we owe it to you on the second one. Some suggestions on if you told all your friend group about the podcast, who do you tell after and we'll do that for you. Other than that, let's get into this pod. I'm glad to get into this pod.

[00:03:07] And we have some teams to go over. So the first team that I really want to talk about are the Brooklyn nets.

[00:03:16] So the Brooklyn nets, they acquired their picks back from Houston in a trade. So they now have their coveted 2025 first round pickback. Now, if you are a person that doesn't like really job with the draft or whatever.

[00:03:36] From what the intel that I received is that it's not just Cooper flag. There's a bunch of players in this draft as balian and others. It's a pretty impressive group. We will start hammering the.

[00:03:56] The 2025 draft in August actually. So look forward to that. There will be multiple like components to it. And we'll start breaking it out for you as we get closer. Probably we'll start dropping stuff off to you sometime next week.

[00:04:17] I will say probably towards the end of next week we'll start having information about what kind of things we're going to have and where to go get them. All right, then the other thing that we could talk about.

[00:04:34] With the Brooklyn nets now that they got their draft break, right. They went ahead and signed Nick Plax into a four year 100 million dollar deal pretty standard. I know it's kind of shocking to say hey.

[00:04:51] A rim rollings, a rim protective center is like we're 25 million a year but I'm trying to tell you in in about two or three years. We're going to see some of these these salaries and 25 is going to seem like a bar me.

[00:05:11] So I was at first I looked at I was like who that's a lot of money and then I was like no the cap was going up and this will all make sense in like two years.

[00:05:21] So I got it's like yep can't worry about it now then the traded McKell bridges.

[00:05:28] And people are like whoa okay we're doing this we got our pigs back we're going to go ahead and do the rebuild properly and we hope to get one of these really nice young.

[00:05:42] Prospects to build around and I understand the motive also understand the motive operation they're doing okay they trade McKell bridges they do trade him to New York.

[00:05:58] I'm not upset with McKell bridges going New York okay I understand the Villanova connection I understand you know what it means to the city and now how come the city. Especially coming off of what kind of playoff run the next had in last year's post season.

[00:06:18] But you trade with the next you give them this guy who like you know.

[00:06:25] Bronson loves them you know the other Novakas level and now like they're the total city I have no problem whether you got to you got picks whatever the case may be now they did get bojan the other bojan by Donovitch.

[00:06:44] Back he's a server he's a serviceable that I don't know how much he has left personally but we'll see. And here's the thing that. I have a question about what the work went that's now that you trade it McKell bridges.

[00:07:04] You have cam shots and sitting on this roster you have Dorian Fini Smith sitting on this roster whatever you think of.

[00:07:14] Count Thomas he's a bucket he's a bucket getter and I'm not saying you have to get rid of him or whatever the case would be but I still think that you have a lot of pieces that will help you win.

[00:07:28] And maybe you are trying not to win as much to get you lower in the tractor. So if that's the case I don't understand the inactivity after the McKell bridges trade.

[00:07:44] I don't think this is something that you can wait until February and say hey you know what I think we should go ahead and take these two guys or three guys or whatever off the team and then we can just.

[00:07:59] Do full on take mode from there I think that would be a monumental mistake you will have teams that will be. I think that you will be a great team. in prime tank mode when the season starts. So again, it puzzles me that there hasn't

[00:08:26] been more chatter, more conversation around Cam Johnson and Dory and Finney Smith. Now Dory and Finney Smith I don't know what kind of Christ's hack he will fetch you know get in that I think he's like 31. So I don't know what that makes a big difference.

[00:08:48] I'm gonna take a sip of water, give me one second. My broke guy dried right there. So you have can't, you have these two guys and I'm looking at it and I'm going well yeah they

[00:09:08] weren't great last year and you know it just is just a lot still there that you're going to this win, could this team win 34 games? Possibly not great but not good enough to get

[00:09:28] you into like the top five right. You kind of want to be in that 20 like 25 ish below 23 ish you want to be in there you know you don't want to be topping out at like 30 you know

[00:09:45] I mean with the draft odds flat lead I definitely understand that this is your ins that you can go from seven to two I definitely understand that what I'm sure that teams are kind of

[00:09:59] going I hope this year it kind of falls chalk you know because I think there's gonna be a lot of teams in earnest taking for some of these guys at the top of the draft. So that's the reason

[00:10:14] why we kind of put the backdrop of the NBA draft next year in focus with Brooklyn because to me they got a lot more work to do if they're really trying to get really really bad so

[00:10:27] we'll see what they continue to do with this offseason as we have said previous pods I do believe that these next 48 72 hours is pretty critical because my feeling on it and from what I've kind of gathered

[00:10:48] from people who work in the league is that once the summer league is over not saying that everybody is not working anymore but I think what you're going to see a lot of is a lot of people will focus

[00:11:02] their energy on their players that are overseas in the Olympics and that would mean that there will be a little hiatus on some of the moves that are going on in the league now we have been

[00:11:17] surprised before in things of happened in just weird times a year but I would take a close look in the next two to three days to see if something doesn't shake loose that's just my call

[00:11:34] I've been wrong before but that's what I'm thinking of now we move on to another team that we can say and their fan base I know for a fact they're saying this is this this can be it right

[00:11:53] and that's the Miami heat and the guy father Pat Riley they got they got him out here waiting waiting like a like a person waiting on long hill to drop a new joint new songs

[00:12:13] new album or whatever that she had dropped in many a year right so we heard all this chatter you know you heard the tray young rovers early right oh he's going to be on the move no doubt

[00:12:31] and then it was a dot in the Mitchell oh he's you know we're going to see if he's going to get out of his contract and then there were you know got to the other people you know we still have the market and

[00:12:45] think out there he's still out there there's some others that are not floating around but you know you heard of grinding in grung you know he his name has been out there for a long time so

[00:13:02] I'm sure Kat Riley thought that hey I'm going to kind of wait this market out see who gets desperate to either unload a guy because they're scared of the cap or whatever case may be and I am sure he thought that he would be kind of like the

[00:13:25] little beneficiary of teams panicky it hasn't worked out that way and so they lost Caleb Martin they lost the long right so Caleb Martin went to the Philadelphia 76ers and the long right

[00:13:43] went to the Milwaukee bucks good pieces solid pieces um Caleb Martin might be a bigger hit because of the playoff experience and and what he's provided in the playoffs now he had that one

[00:13:57] series that was crazy against Boston or the three series that then accompanied that culminated in the Milwaukee series but I will say that you know we'll see I think he can fit in Philly

[00:14:15] I think he does it's the thing with the Miami heat players though it's like once they leave Miami you know the track record isn't awesome and that's the like I want this to be true

[00:14:28] they Caleb Martin is just going to be continued to be awesome as a role player but you know that Miami little stigma I don't know we'll see now they did sign BAM at a mile it wasn't like they

[00:14:45] said they didn't do anything they also side hey we're high Smith and they also signed Alec Burks now Alec Burks 13 years in league does he have any more juice love I don't know we'll see

[00:14:58] they also re-sign Kevin Love he still plays at a decent level especially if you're saying hey man we just need like 15 minutes off the bench you know Kevin Love solid do you that solid so

[00:15:14] and I think Kevin Love kind of knows where he is in his career so he's fine what what he's doing and he's also in self-reach it's not a bad gig if you can get it now there has been a

[00:15:31] fundamental shift in some of the I'm wouldn't say fundamental I think this is always going to case but maybe because they just have to hand the opportunities over whatever in like let's say

[00:15:43] last like six years previous what I noticed that they have really focused in on their first round picks over the last couple years and it seems like they've taken more onus like hey we're

[00:15:58] this part of the draft has some opportunities where we can get cheap really established guys or guys that fit our criteria and our system well that allow us to do the things that we kind

[00:16:13] of want to do so with that we said last year they brought in high me high kids junior solid pro right off the bat the shooting kind of went down towards the end of the year I wonder if

[00:16:29] it was because of role and also he's playing 82 games for the first time so give my man a break um the other thing that has happened is they got kuell where a kale kale where I'm sorry

[00:16:50] look at that kid's name apologize kale where now he went to Indiana I said when we did our draft podcast and by the way we're proud of that and if you have

[00:17:05] been listened to it go back and listen to that but I remember saying in that specifically that this is going to be the true test of heat culture and what I meant by that is kale where is a very

[00:17:21] talented big this guy does he can shoot it from the outside it's streaky right now um what he has that he has the capability of doing it he can be a tremendous finisher at the

[00:17:36] room a room protector he can switch on defense he can do all these things my wonder with kale is this does he really love basketball and I know that that sounds really critical but if you notice there's

[00:17:58] a lot of bigs and if you talk to them and you get them in a real honest moment I remember Travis night Travis night play for the lakers thinking went to Yukon yep he was a husky he went to the

[00:18:15] lakers he bould out I think you know the first couple years with the lakers I think he was second around Kaker he was able to get out of his contract because he was a second around Kaker and then

[00:18:27] he went to Boston on a free agent deal and he was just playing to get to that second deal he said he was like once I get that say a deal so I'll gravy from there I'm not you know he didn't love it

[00:18:46] and I'm not saying that where does it but he gave some indications in Oregon that he did he was now some you can say whatever you want Dana Altman has been a really good coach in Oregon

[00:19:02] he goes to Indiana under Mike Woodson maybe there is something there where there's a message convey differently Mike Woodson gets a lot out of where and we see the potential that

[00:19:19] wears the clothes of sea out of this kid because he is phenomenal so now all that being said what else is there for Miami to do well here's the thing the hero value right now is is

[00:19:38] Neil a lot of people aren't really checking in the contract the contract is just too cumbersome right now for the type of production that he's going to be able to give you because a

[00:19:52] lot of people see him as a six man now maybe Miami overshot their shot when you know he came up at the most opportune time when they made that run to the finals but damn dude it's it's

[00:20:07] proof it's hard now it's hard because it's like okay are you attaching something to hero are you attaching like necola yovitch or a high-me-hocca's junior a lot of people a lot of fans

[00:20:31] he fans don't have the stomach for that I personally wouldn't want to do that no let's keep that young talent let's try to build around it now with that being said is it a bounce

[00:20:46] without gear for roe here I think so I think that somebody of roe fears caliber does it all of a sudden forget to learn how to forget to play basketball I just don't get that he had a terrible

[00:21:03] year maybe put a lot of pressure on to himself because he had been playing in Charlotte for like the you know three years and you know he's on the team that you know the game's count the it matters

[00:21:17] you know whatever you think of Jimmy Butler playing not playing maybe roe here got there and said shit I'm here you know this is a big time let me see what I can do and maybe now with a

[00:21:33] offseason understand it all of the ins and outs of the Miami heat you know what the concepts are what they like to run where he exactly fits and I'm sure Eric Sposter the old video coordinator

[00:21:50] type of guy he is he probably has about 10 to 15 clips that he's sending a roe's year to say hey man this is kind of where we want you in the offense that nobody gets thrown away in Miami

[00:22:09] the research remember the research in the Tyler he were I'm hearing he was left for day for a while ducking Robertson also got that situation as well so I do see a bounce back

[00:22:23] year for roe here I think it will help what at the overall in Miami but I still think there pieces that need to be taken care of now how do they get that where is it is there a superstar

[00:22:40] that kind of falls into the lab are they the team that's waiting out Brandon Ingram and once Brandon Ingram finds out that he is not a 45 plus million dollar a year player they get him for like I don't

[00:22:57] know 35 and then say hey dude put the chip on your shoulder you're on Miami heat and lift roe you know that's a nice little piece of firepower for them I don't know what is actually

[00:23:11] going to be on the table for the Miami heat but it is really it's difficult for me to believe that this is literally what they're going to walk into the year with now I could be I will be shocked

[00:23:27] that this is it I would honestly it it just doesn't make a lot of sense especially if you're saying okay we have a motivated Jimmy Butler who's on the last year of his contract well we're going to use

[00:23:43] that and partly that into you know trying to win and if we're trying to win we should maybe have one more guy to help with the firepower issue especially when you see your the upper echelon

[00:23:59] of the Easter conference low enough Boston didn't really need to do anything they just add it somebody who was a flame thrower in college in bailing the shineman is the type of guy where

[00:24:15] you know he's old enough what he's also young enough right he's old enough where okay I see some stuff in college basketball and now I'm in the pros and he's young enough where it's like

[00:24:31] oh your rational confidence guy because if he sees a couple of shots going crazy and then you that the next obviously got Philadelphia you know Cleveland it looks like they're saying their

[00:24:44] their stamp pat still don't know about that but we see and then also iniana is loaded again so there's a lot going on in the ease at this point in time and the whole hero value situation

[00:25:02] has put a really light just just so everything is in the mud now so they're going to have to be creative or they're just going to have to be patient and wait until maybe somebody just gets

[00:25:16] completely disenchanted with their franchises and says you know what I don't like what's going on over here so I'm out and do it up and see what happens but it's really hard to see Miami in this

[00:25:31] situation that moves on to our last team which is kind of a people say well what could they have done but let's talk about it a little bit the Milwaukee bucks now the Milwaukee bucks is they've been

[00:25:48] getting a lot of praise now I'm going to remind you of what they had to work with now Milwaukee has a first round pick in 2031 and that is really it they've exhausted all the other resources as far

[00:26:06] as trade assets as far as picks as air concern now as far as trade assets that might be a different thing but a lot of people might see differently but I digress let's give you the overall and then let me

[00:26:19] kind of tell you my thoughts so Milwaukee is a team that got touring in prints I think that's good work I think touring prints will definitely be additive to a Milwaukee buck team led by Docker rivers

[00:26:38] DeLon right I also think is a hell of a pick up for a team that had these type of constraints that were up that they were up against so you got those two guys now Malik these Lee is out I

[00:26:54] honestly I think what they got in and what they got out I think this is a plus plus kind of you know but that's me Emily weasley you do lose somebody who pinched you for three now touring kint crints did shoot the three very well

[00:27:11] for the lakers when he was in a role that fit his situation better when he was in his like a like a 20 minute a night do great. Darby Ham for some reason thought he was a starter now

[00:27:27] Darby Ham is also in Milwaukee with a doc river so I don't know if some of the thoughts are going through their head I hope not but we'll see so then they also lost Daniel uh Tice now

[00:27:44] okay I think touring prints kind of crosses out Daniel Tice don't on right you know I think you get better playmaking you get you know better ball distributor you get a smart player you also get

[00:28:03] a with these two guys you get better defense from elite beastly the one thing that he was not able to carry the mail on was the defense so they did get more stout at point of attack and also

[00:28:14] on just collect the way as a defense of T did the my question was did the bucks run out of bullets and are they going to lie on their young talent because here's the thing doc river is his

[00:28:33] not been a coach that loves young talent okay um everybody implored him to play Andre Jackson Jr last year it took until like what they were desperate in the playoffs and then they finally played

[00:28:51] them uh Marjong bow champ is one of those guys who have really showed out in some of the he will have the occasional game in preseason and then for some reason he can't stay on the court

[00:29:06] and I don't know where that development arc is going and where it's coming from he's still fairly young he's like 21 now so you know you got it you still got a young guy on there and then they

[00:29:21] drafted a tyrosmith that's the glee guy who's like 696 10 shoots it from the outside life's distributed from the outside a lot not really a big like let's go inside and let's do some work

[00:29:40] tyros with dude he is a perimeter guy you know what he he he can't defend the ram I wouldn't call him a ram protector but he can defend the ram and then their first round cake which was

[00:29:55] a lot of people were like whoa hold on and that was AJ Johnson now that that German he was a California all-stay guard he went over to Australia for ilyuara play there he didn't get a lot of

[00:30:13] time struggled but the kid is 6 foot 4 and he's 167 pounds it's funny to see this because um what am I best friends in high school was basically about this he was like 6 foot 4

[00:30:34] he might have been like 170 he's time to tell me he was like 180 I do was a stick and this kid is basically the same he's he's going to need a lot of development especially just physical

[00:30:47] development but the tools are there the handles there the shot is done can come um I just think he was overwhelmed in Australia and I don't know you know some some people react different I don't know

[00:31:05] what at the end of the day he was he's a spindly kid you know he's very you know he's very slight it's just going to take time with him um here's my question about Milwaukee

[00:31:24] now I understand that you know yannis helps you know just like every superstar does right now here's my question I'm not saying you you trade aim or anything like that I do question whether you should have had any consideration in trading Chris and Middleton

[00:31:46] now yes does that break up continuity 100% and we are here at this podcast where we're on a podcast collective if you do have a core that can be successful you know I always am kind of like hey let's get a

[00:32:02] little continuity let's see if we can make some margin improvement marginal improvements and running back and see what goes on and maybe bring in a bench piece that fits with the the starting the starting group better where it allows more efficiency to play itself out I don't know

[00:32:27] but in this respect Chris Middleton has struggled with health I still think that Chris Middleton has a lot to give I wonder if Chris Middleton can give at the level he wants to give at

[00:32:47] playing like 30 plus minutes a game still that's my question it's not the question of talent it's not the question of oh is this is a bad dude there's a bad dude you know Chris Middleton

[00:33:04] you know quite a scout was one of those dudes that was like when they were getting to the finals he was hitting big shots in the four quarter holding it down for Janice to get them to the

[00:33:17] finals and then Janice just had a Godzilla King Kong type of down final where he's hitting 50 points in the last game the clothes it out so you know I know in listen I didn't come to you like going

[00:33:36] hey trade Chris Middleton I'm throwing it out as an option and what I'm saying by this is like you know defensive kind of slow down the offensive production is kind of slow down could they have

[00:33:49] maybe traded him for pieces right could they have turned him into like a younger wing could they have thought outside the box about like miles bridges you know I understand that you know maybe for personal reasons and what the off-the-court situation it might not have

[00:34:13] going to fit from Milwaukee I'm not saying that they did or did not have these discussions these are the type of things I'm thinking about when I'm thinking about Milwaukee is how can and now I know Middleton doesn't fit Charlotte's timeline but it's those type of players or

[00:34:30] hey maybe there is there is there a trade with Chicago before the whole tomorrow derolson thing happened is demarcados and a piece that maybe fits there you know I don't know now you believe what

[00:34:48] you want I've been told under good good sourcing that the rumor for Levine about adding picks to and I said it on the previous spot that the those rumors are over exaggerated for real

[00:35:11] and I think what I think I what I was looking for was a little more imagine imagination for the Milwaukee brain trust and I do I do love the margin pieces that they pull so I mean if you're

[00:35:29] saying this is all we could do we just did not have the resources to do it but I really do believe that maybe in one situation like a little less could have been more and maybe instead of taking

[00:35:48] you know 75 cents on the dollar you take three quarters you know you take three 25 sink pieces and see what we can do with it you know there's a lot of guys who are in that like

[00:36:00] what we consider that second draft type of situation I like I love Denny Obdia in Portland I love the idea that you know I think that's a really good position for him to be in

[00:36:21] so it's not it's not like I'm trying to be critical what Milwaukee has done it's just more of could they have maybe kind of widen their view a little bit and say okay we do this and get a young

[00:36:40] wing that you know in Chris middle kid Chris middle ten would have fetched you a wing with ball handling skills and defensive capability like I do not doubt that Chris and Hilton has value

[00:36:53] around a league he's a good vet he's a solid leader he is a guy that you can count on you know in crunch time minutes as far as this concern he has a lot of value around the league and I just

[00:37:08] wonder if I know there would have been players for him I know there would have been players for him so they didn't do that they decided to go ahead and work the margins the question again

[00:37:22] will doc play the young players because this does not work at all if doc does not play the young players all right a couple things little news and notes before we get out of here um

[00:37:40] we were talking about Atlanta and we're talking about how they had a lot of wings and a lot of bigs on the part one of this podcast and there is a there's an update so Atlanta Hawks Center

[00:37:57] clink Pella has reportedly drawn interest for the New York Nix and the Los Angeles Lakers per SNY's in Bayley in Bayley is tapped in clink Pella Atlanta was one of the bigs that the

[00:38:17] Nix checked in on Bayley reported he didn't know how the talks went I don't know if they were active active at this very moment but they did check in on Cappella so maybe we might get some news on

[00:38:36] Cappella but we had made the we had made the comment in the previous podcast that Atlanta had a lot of bigs and they had a lot of wings and they had we some sort of consolidation trade available to them

[00:38:53] um I would love to see the Lakers getting on this I would love to see the Lakers get in on this but I digress so clink Pella is one of those guys that we are definitely keeping our eye on again

[00:39:07] Brandon Ingram is the other one and then the wings and Brooklyn were waiting to see what happens we did tell you about the rough trade in the first pod now Westbrook getting traded to Utah is funny

[00:39:23] because if you remember back Russ was in a sense was part of that Utah deal that got the Lakers Jerry van the Bill got our guy uh D-Lo back in the fold so good piece of business for the

[00:39:46] Lakers in that situation and now my guy Westbrook is going to be in Utah well he will never be in Utah but he's getting traded to Utah they're gonna buy him out and then it looks like he's going

[00:39:58] in Denver so and it looks like from what I from other reporting it looks like this is legit that Gilkitch is oh he's really like pumped up about playing with Westbrook which is interesting because we

[00:40:16] never see Yilkitch really pumped up about anything but maybe he sees a vision for Westbrook that we don't currently see we will see how this all plays out trying to see if there's anything else

[00:40:32] that we kind of need to hit on before we go now that's it so with the audience said I want to thank you guys again oh we need to talk about who you can talk to about our podcast so

[00:40:47] a couple other things that the producers and I were kicking around they were like well okay who could they talk to about the podcast right now I personally think that a person that you know is behind a counter at a 711 you know possibility I'm thinking also

[00:41:26] above driver you know like you know we did say Uber driver but our friends that do the the mass transit in metropolitan cities 100% above driver before we also thought about our our bus boy that you know they bust the dishes for us at the restaurants of

[00:41:51] Westgirls we are not trying to be sexist here on this podcast you know what you know the people who bus our tables you know they you know if it's helped them the stay active listen to the podcast

[00:42:04] front-runner podcast collective we're here for you we did say all of like Amazon and like your YouTube like it not YouTube your uh what's the other people what's the other people so yeah

[00:42:21] oh like your FedEx people right DHL all those people yeah so all those people right there as well grow up for sure oh yeah Johnwood Jews person listen key situation listen if you go to a

[00:42:39] juice place now we live in Southern California here we got Johnwood Jews okay Johnwood Jews is dope now I like Johnwood Jews it takes a while to get a Johnwood Jews you know because you get all your

[00:42:54] stuff in it you get to protein you get to you know you get to you know you get to you know be 12 in it you get your immune boost you get your energy boost whatever right so it takes some time so

[00:43:07] you got a lot of time to kill talk about front-runner podcast collected that's what you should be doing all right with that being said I hope you guys enjoyed this podcast this is the Friday podcast

[00:43:19] we are recording it on Thursday trying to get ahead of schedule so we can pump out videos on the weekend for you guys for this podcast and the previous podcast so keep it locked here with front-runner

[00:43:33] podcast collective because we are monitoring the Cleveland situation the Brandon E. Grun situation and if something else shake loose like the click pellet situation so all of those things are up in

[00:43:48] the air and then as we always like to say especially going into the weekend the best part of you is you make sure that you are surrounding yourself with people who are only going to brighten your
