[00:00:12] It's late night Monday, you know what time it is. Front Runner Podcast Collective is back on the air. I am your humble host, Vince. I am glad to be here.

[00:00:22] I am joined on the ones in two by, so Rhea and also Bunch of Funge, and let me tell you something. This podcast would not happen without them. Yo boy broke his pinky. Okay, so we're a potting hurt right. I feel very much like Dhammatis

[00:00:50] Sabonis when he was hurt a couple years ago and he played through the injury. So that's what we're doing here because we have a lot to get to. We're going to talk about some of the signings that happened over the weekend.

[00:01:05] We're also going to put the Chicago Bulls under the front runner offseason front office focus and unless something else pops up. Oh, we got some other things to talk about because there's some other big time money deals going down in the NBA

[00:01:27] and it's not necessarily on the court. So that's a little tease. That's what we call it in the business. You get it because I'm a old school radio guy. What can I tell you?

[00:01:40] But before we get to all that, we must break down the socials first X or Twitter as you would like to call it at front runner PC and then follow the producers because the producers are funny as hell.

[00:01:58] They argue with one another over Twitter. There's Venomoh payments going back and forth. It's it's a riot. I trust me. So that is at Rhea underscore punch, FRPC. Then YouTube channel, YouTube front runner podcast collective please subscribe. Please go ahead and

[00:02:23] like some of the videos and also leave a comment because I won't answer those comments. Comment tell again coming in, trickling in more and more which is great and it's good to be able

[00:02:35] to interact with you guys. So let's keep that momentum going. And then the third thing which is the last thing is the podcast. Okay, so be your friend, tell the friend about the podcast. Let them know

[00:02:51] that we do it three times a week. Monday, Wednesday and Friday as the CFO of this company tells me every single week, we must be doing three shows a week or funding stops immediately. Right? So that's how

[00:03:11] we do it. You let them know that we do it three times a week. It's going to be basketball, law to law. And now we can drop to you a little plans of August. I told you that we had some plans

[00:03:26] coming for you and it is a new day with front runner podcast collective. So the one thing that we are very, very sensitive to is making sure that we deliver on our promises. We weren't really good at

[00:03:45] it before we now because we have helped. Thank you, Serena. Thank you, bunch. That we can go ahead and offer you certain things. We will start our draft coverage for the 2025 draft in August.

[00:04:03] And how we're going to do it is we're going to take two cross-gicks every podcast and we're going to talk about them and try to get as much information as possible on them. So it gives you kind of

[00:04:17] a little peek into what we're looking forward to when we get into November. And we start seeing these guys play basketball at the collegiate level or internationally. So keep it locked here at front

[00:04:31] runner podcast collect us so we can go ahead and get you that information. And we are proud to give it to you. So August, it will start and it will start right away. So first podcast in August

[00:04:45] and we're going to give you probably about 30 prospects and as much information that we can possibly get at that present time and then we will go from there. The other thing that is coming

[00:05:02] in August, the producers have decided that they are going to blog about the podcast, give you some of the inner workings, the behind the scenes look of the podcast, what we talk about that might not

[00:05:23] basically it might be a little too hot for the podcast. So whatever, but they're going to put that up on a blog and that will be on our website. And it's under a little bit of construction right now

[00:05:38] but when it goes right back up, this will be the first thing that hits it. So look out for basically producer, no, I don't know what they're going to call it. Have you guys named it yet? You guys can't

[00:05:52] hear this. This is bad podcasting only I can hear them right now. So no name as it yet. So they're workshopping the name, but they want it to put this out there. So keep a lot. We're going to give you

[00:06:06] the information to the website. This will be kind of almost like a second screen to the podcast right? So if you're listening to the podcast obviously if you're on your device or you're on your computer

[00:06:18] at home, you can listen and then you can go over to the producer notes and kind of reload and see what might have been some of the thoughts here and there might give you a little more in

[00:06:29] a workings to what I might actually be thinking about and what the staff is thinking about too. So that's what's going on with us. So you know what we need to get to right

[00:06:41] the actual podcast. So let's go. What we're going to hit first is we're going to hit the signings first. The first signing that we're going to talk about is the Evan Moebully signing

[00:06:55] in Cleveland. So Evan Moebully signed his working max. So it's five years. It can be up. It can be worth to 269 million. I think it falls into 224 as of right now, but it has a chance of being 269

[00:07:15] if he hits like defensive player the year all in VA, those type of things. So here's the thing Cleveland has been telling us the whole time that they're going to keep these four players together.

[00:07:33] You have Jared Allen who they got from the Brooklyn Edts and that really true deal. You have Evan Moebully who they drafted. Right? Then the Donna's initial trade, the Utah trade and then also Jerry's Garland who is also another homegrown product. Now

[00:07:57] with all that being said I love Evan Moebully. I might be one of the only ones still on Evan Moebully I owned. I when he was coming through the draft process one of the things that I knew about is

[00:08:15] that he worked out extensively with Chris Bough and you know, the concept started to happen right now. You know sometimes with a big it takes time. Now there've been some injuries that have stopped

[00:08:33] and started his progress the other thing with Evan Moebully is this and I made this comment last year. Donna's in Mitchell showing up in Cleveland all the things that we thought that Evan Moebully

[00:08:46] was going to be able to do he probably was going to be able to show that as much when you have two guards who are as bald dominant as Jerry's Garland and Donna's in Mitchell now also makes you more

[00:09:00] successful as a team. This team is now a legitimate playoff team they're usually hosting as you know in the first round as far as the servants of the Utah Forest seed and they have linked that it's hard

[00:09:18] to be. Now we talk about the actual strength of the two guys so Jerry, Alan and Evan Moebully who got this very large contract and we'll have you now he's going to still have to put on some weight.

[00:09:34] Let's talk about Evan Moebully a little bit. I don't have a problem with the contract at all this is what you do. He's signed your guys. He is defensively wise he can be such a game changer

[00:09:50] the offense needs to catch up and he also needs to get stronger. The thing that you would hope in this deal and that we saw a little bit last year hopefully the volume goes up is that he was

[00:10:07] able to shoot the three point shot and he shot at a respectable level but he did not shoot it a lot. So for the Cleveland offense to be as robust as it possibly can be it's going to need

[00:10:24] Evan Moebully to take that leap that we didn't see in the second year and we definitely didn't see it in the third year. So now it's time you got your money, all right? So it's time to go

[00:10:37] head and show all the people what is really inside Evan Moebully which is I think extremely talented guy I think there's a lot underneath the hood sort of speed with his offensive game

[00:10:55] and to really get clearly into an area where you feel comfortable talking about them with the likes of New York Philadelphia and Boston you're going to need that next step from Evan Moebully. Donovan Mitchell is basically a finished product now he's 2728 so he's going to give you what

[00:11:23] he's able to give you which is tremendous production you know this guy has a propensity go off for 50 at any moment but the other thing what this is too now we have in Moguli sign now that you know Allen has got his signing contract last year.

[00:11:45] Now you're looking at Gary's Garland and I always said in this podcast since the off season really started at first it was Donovan Mitchell what was going to happen well he pushed all his chips into the middle of the table and he's all in on Cleveland and Cleveland

[00:12:09] is all in on him right so they go ahead get this marriage they sign him to the extension and now with Evan Moebully off the board is Gary's Garland and I still think there's a tweak or a move

[00:12:24] there I'm not saying necessarily that is going to happen in the off season now at this point I am fairly confident now that we're pretty much done so for a lot of teams who are looking at their off season kind of scratching their head going hey man um

[00:12:47] we got some real big holes here and none of these are field and you're telling me we're done I think the market really is super difficult to navigate at this present time now a lot

[00:13:03] of it is due to the to the new collective bargaining agreement I would go ahead and turn that is one of the crime factors in what's going on here because it's just hard to match up salaries and

[00:13:15] things of that nature but at this point Cleveland is told us hey we're keeping this core for I still have my doubts not because Darius Garland is not a great player I just think that he is

[00:13:34] repetitive in his skill set with Donovan Mitchell and if you could replace him and put something that is has a little bit better size to him and you know can still shoot it from the outside

[00:13:48] I think this would be a win also I think Darius Garland being able to run his own team is also a good thing but it's something that will move on in to the regular season

[00:14:03] if you want to believe what Kobe Altman has told us so right now all reports out of Cleveland core core for is there Evan Mobile assigned to his rookie fun max extension and congratulations to our

[00:14:23] guy all right congratulations to Evan Mobile we loved him coming out the draft let me give you a couple quotes the Cavaliers are projecting well each we wanted to elite two-way big men for years to come

[00:14:40] and that is coming from Chris Fetter a Cleveland dot com um this is basically what they've been talking about the things that we weren't seeing the last couple years where we were so focused on his

[00:14:53] offensive game they were more focused on his defensive game and what he could do now that shot even though it wasn't at a high volume just the fact that he was taking the shot

[00:15:09] in NBA games last year is a huge step up so we're there now can we coax him into more volume that's the key because that max that he got this time this is for dudes who are

[00:15:29] while to be real dudes in the NBA right like we give these contracts to like Anthony Edwards okay like that's who we give these contracts to we can say with all honesty they'll we don't think

[00:15:49] every Mobile has lived up to that yet but I am still betting on the talent I'm still betting on the work ethic and I'm hoping that a little bit more aggression comes now that he is secured

[00:16:04] with the money right so could those two ever muggly getting the contract super excited for him and we'll see if Cleveland sticks to their guns with this core four still still get mass body

[00:16:22] tingle still give it okay we move on to the other signing and that is Sam Hals now Sam Halser is back up six foot eight wing for the Boston Celtics the raining defending in

[00:16:42] the NBA champion 18 times by the way Boston Celtics hurt me every time I say that and I have a producer on this show who lives in Boston right now so this must be great for

[00:16:57] anyways Sam Halser signs a deal of four years let's see what the money ever that the like it's four years 54 mil now you would say hey that's a pretty lofty contract 14 that is

[00:17:15] way over the second apron right the restrictions now are real they go into this first year of this apron and then next year is when all of the real crazy there's a lot of restrictions

[00:17:32] that go in this year that draft pig next year gets frozen so we get through 2025 2425 we get to the 25 26 season if they go into that calendar year in the second apron wherever the 23 the 23

[00:17:59] draft pig is it gets now frozen and it goes to the back of the line so keep that in mind now we talk all the time how Boston is set up for and here's another piece with Sam Halser right

[00:18:14] Sam Halser is not going to put you in a situation where he's gonna give you this this great performance and whatever what Sam is going to be able to do for you is he's gonna come in for his 12 to 16 minutes

[00:18:36] he is going to space the floor surprisingly he is going to move his sheet on defense and I say that people say well he's white that's why you say that no I say this because

[00:18:50] Sam Halser wasn't a good defender coming out of college he wasn't he has learned what he can he cannot do kudos to him and putting the work in but the one thing that Sam Halser can do

[00:19:03] is he can shoot that thing Sam Halser can shoot the thing so my whole thing with Sam is I love that he got the money I love that Boston is like a drunk and sailor

[00:19:18] you know home from leave to spend him money left and right you know he's they're going to wake up in a couple days and be like what we spent money on what we what the hell is the Sam Halser

[00:19:33] no no Sam Halser good Wayne good spaceer they're going to need him a lot in the first 40 games of this season Christoff Corsing is that ankle which it didn't look good

[00:19:49] when he came on back onto the court Christoff is going to be out at a they say December others are saying February so listen he came out like a lion trying to help

[00:20:06] when a championship mission complete his I guess his uh his battle scar is that that ankle is shot right now and we are not going to see Christoff for a while in this next upcoming season

[00:20:24] so Sam Halser will be very important he is somebody who allows them to play the the way they really want to play which is the five-hour style and the one thing that Sam gets when he does

[00:20:38] go into the game if you notice if he plays without one of the jays he is he is incentivized to go ahead and shoot it if for some reason he's planned with both of the jays

[00:20:54] what you see him do is then become that complimentary piece that you would see normally a corner guy he's going to set picks and then get out on the flare screen and pop out to the three point

[00:21:06] line above the break so these are all things that Sam is able to do Mozilla has been able to weaponize him in a way where you hide some of the deficiencies he's had enough to be able to be

[00:21:20] physical enough with his uh with the offensive player that's in front of him and he's able to say on court for four minute stretches so that is very imperative in the NBA to have a guy that

[00:21:35] you know you can put it in a playoff game so Sam Halser gets paid as well now speaking of money this segue professional is how we do it Amazon who thought they had the secondary

[00:21:59] NBA rights no one or brother time Warner has come in and said we have now invoked our right to match so the TNT inside the NBA with Ernie Johnson Kenny to Jess Smith Charles Barkley and Shaquille Niel and that incredible staff behind the cameras

[00:22:31] behind the scenes that production staff is A1 one of the reasons why Charles was having such a hard time if for some reason Amazon would have won this thing you know would they have been able

[00:22:44] to bring their own people if that was the case would they have gone over to NBC my sources tell me that the NBC thing was never wrote that they could go down that they were going to use their own

[00:23:01] people and that wasn't going to be a no go for Charles no matter how much money they threw at him so it's good to see that we as NBA fans we know that we know with all star games it's going to

[00:23:18] be we know where NBA in the all star setting nice going to be we know where we're going to watch Chuck and and and and Shaq just be funny and give insights to basketball that are

[00:23:37] needed sometimes and I know some I know people are out there and say all these are all dudes and they hate on the young dudes and you know I get it understand where you coming from you like oh they're getting

[00:23:49] critical of them well welcome to the actual NBA right well Shaq says to oh well this guy could be you doing way more and he's not well who would know better than the Shaq now I get up here and

[00:24:06] talk and I I try to get enough right to be able to have some sort of equity with my audience to to get stuff right right so it's like okay we can we can depend on events he's got enough

[00:24:22] right where it's like okay but when it comes to the true intricacies of basketball I listen to Shaq I hear him he makes a lot of sense you know aggressively for a big you should be able to effort

[00:24:42] eight points you know through your size and and you're want to rebounding and being on the glass you should be able to basically effort yourself to eight and then whatever you do on top of that

[00:24:56] with your skillset whatever will depend on what kind of center you're gonna be which takes us all the way back to Evan Moby the best offense that Cleveland ran last year was when Evan Moby and Darius

[00:25:13] Garling were out and Dury Allen was in and they just put shooting all around Donovan Mitchell I'm not saying they trade Evan Moby that's not my deal whatsoever I think Evan Moby is there to stay my question is can you get strong enough to play the five

[00:25:33] or is that shot going to continue to progress to a point where people aren't just absolutely ignoring you at the three point line but it's good to see that TNT keeps basketball that's

[00:25:50] where we like it I know there's some young people out there saying I would fms on what I got it that's fine I get you whatever I don't know what they had in stores for is what their

[00:26:03] post game Rappler show was gonna look like this for this isn't and it probably could have been really entertaining I don't know Amazon really has stepped up in the football arena with their games

[00:26:16] they give me a lot of choices with the the on-screen viewing and the audio that goes with it you get multiple choices with that so I have no idea what this post game NBA show would look like on Amazon

[00:26:33] but for us who like a little laugh and some information and then Ernie Johnson holding it all together give me more of that because I'm old and I'm sitting my way so could those two time-warner

[00:26:50] keeping the NBA on TNT which then that brings us to our last thing that we're gonna talk about and it's gonna be the longest segment because we're putting somebody in the run-off is

[00:27:04] offseason focus and that team is the Chicago Bulls I wear to start okay well Jerry's Ryan's door is the owner we know we know that the pockets or fat we also know that Jerry does not like

[00:27:26] to spend money right so we are seeing a slow tear down we saw Alex Cruisle leave right they have been to say they have tried to trade Zach Levine is an understatement

[00:27:47] now I reported on this podcast I believe on the last the very last one we did that Zach Levine rumour meal about Chicago offering a first round pic I told you that was an erroneous rumor

[00:28:06] now I know other people who have reported that that's fine let them do it when I have good sourcing they have said that we have never offered a first round pic to send Zach Levine away

[00:28:24] that's just shooting ourselves in the foot at this point now does his contract and his inability to play or when everything wasn't going right last year you saw the powding that he was doing do you think maybe in a different environment Zach Levine gets better

[00:28:48] is it the caliber of players that he's playing with all we do know is this once Zach Levine left the lineup Kobe White showed out and we'll get to him in a second and they played better

[00:29:01] so there's a lot of work to do for Zach Levine and here's the other thing 43 million dollars if you want to round up 43.1 that's what we're looking at it's a lot of money

[00:29:18] and we're we're in a situation where we're not getting a lot of bang for our buck and your hard to trade one of quotes is that the bulls have been shopping with Vines it's

[00:29:32] January indicating a desire to re-structure and this is from Joe Kelly of the Chicago song times man it's a tough deal right now for Zach Levine and the boys in Chicago and that leads us

[00:29:49] into our next situation which is Lanzo Ball so Lanzo obviously he had the the knee injury he from all accounts he's looking a lot healthier we don't know what it's going to look like

[00:30:08] when he gets on the court we don't know what the explosions going to look like we have no idea how long this is going to take he's been off the court for a year and a half

[00:30:21] so one of the quotes is this is from Adrian Woddonowski Lanzo's health will determine the bulls play off aspirations we don't have to worry about that we don't have to worry about that at all

[00:30:37] okay excuse me they're trying to take let's just be real I don't understand now I do get not giving a first round pick understand that he's a distress asset I stand there Lanzo Wall obviously right now is also a distress asset and it looks like the

[00:31:03] Nicole of Luzovic salary is also holding them back to do something with him has he's been making 20 a year so he's made a 20-mile a year Lanzo's making 21-3 a year

[00:31:21] so I mean it's it's tough and those are the three guys that you got and it's you got to be better and they doubled down it's a re-sign of rules of age of all things which is something that you just

[00:31:39] can't do what they done it and now here we are and we're gonna have to get into the season we're gonna have to see what Levine looks like we're gonna have to see what Lanzo looks like as well

[00:31:51] and then go from there because there's no way that you can attach picks to a team who is devoid of picks and they're coming here so it's a real deal but here is some bright note

[00:32:13] the guy Josh Giddie now you say well Crucel Crucel here's the thing Crucel doesn't fit your timeline if you're if you have a diminutive guard in Kobe White now I know that he's like 64

[00:32:28] but he's on the slider side Josh Giddie now he might not be able to chase like the little idiotic guards when he does give you some defensive flexibility being 6768 he rebounds really well

[00:32:45] for his position and the one thing that Giddie is gonna give you is his passing his ability to see the floor is second level you know it's just this up there and I think that with somebody like this

[00:33:01] he can probably get Kobe White better shots now guy that I really want him to activate is Cratch William now I will tell you this about uh Cratch Williams being gonna watch his back

[00:33:19] because Matt is Bouselis that kid now the shot is not great he gets shoot it but the percentages aren't fantastic he's like a low dirty shooter at this point in time but he does so much other

[00:33:39] things with basketball the the one thing that's gonna be critical is the Levine part is the Long's Obaquart and the Kobe White part because it was Ellis is in the game you're gonna need those three guys on the court to provide the spacing that you're gonna need

[00:33:59] because Bouselis in Patut Williams have the same problem they both do not shoot the three well enough to allow them to be like the number one option or the number two option whatever the case

[00:34:15] may be. Gitty runs into the same problem so it'll be Bouselis and Gitty looking in a mirror because that was the problem in okay see what Josh Gitty is that listen you got to shoot the wall

[00:34:29] I understand that you feel less confident but you know what the chances are if you never shoot it probably zero so there that is now they do like both the Bouselis and Gitty's versatility

[00:34:50] to the game they are going to try to weaponize both of them I do not see unless there's some sort of significant job in Bouselis shooting ability I can't see them well playing on the court together

[00:35:07] so there is that let's talk about Kobe White Kobe White to me is one of the better value contracts in the league sky went off when you got it when you got this chance

[00:35:19] in last year when Levine got hurt they stuck Kobe White in there and Kobe White was like this after but he actually signed case and point we just talked about the working max so Kobe White

[00:35:36] signed contract last year this was also hit the second his second contract he signed for $12 million annually see there are levels to this but obviously because of his infrequent play we didn't know what

[00:35:57] he was doing you know how good he was there were injury concerns things of that nature and then finally he got his chance last year and provided an excellent spark to a lifeless Chicago Bullseye

[00:36:13] led him to another plane which is also good for Jerry Wines door because he likes money he's too a jerk um Kobe White was something of a revelation last year it's great to see a guy they will

[00:36:31] be able to stick to this was the guy that I saw in in North Carolina and it was exciting to see that Cody White again last year so I look forward to another year

[00:36:47] of development with him we'll see if the lead learns more about him I always worry about how slidious because he's really sinewy best turn I can use for him and let's see if there's anything else

[00:37:05] I don't really want to talk about what to um okay so you get you lose the more the rows and you lose out of the crew so you lose uh Andre drumming well where's the signs of hope right

[00:37:22] you saw in patch of Williams back your you know you got Kobe White what's Ellis is going to do a lot of cool stuff I'm gonna tell you right now he's gonna do some stuff you go I wish you wouldn't have done that

[00:37:36] he's gonna do some stuff where you like down I'm great woof love it um now the future graphics for the Chicago girls are S such uh the 2025 pick is in peril because it is top 10 protected

[00:37:57] so what that means is is that the bulls have to be terrible they have to get within that top 10 to be able to hold on to their pick if not if it's 11 or higher San Antonio gets that pick

[00:38:17] this is from the the Rosen situation now here's the deal with the rest of their draft 26 is also top 8 protected by San Antonio uh and then 27 is when they are starting to own

[00:38:38] their first round pick so they have to find a way to alleviate Zach Levine as early as possible to make sure that they can go ahead and solidify hold on to this pick in coming up coming here

[00:39:00] which we're like we said we're gonna talk about this draft in earnest in August so keep it locked here with us at Frank Render podcast collective uh let's see is there anything else no guilley

[00:39:13] dynamics of good coach I wish he I wish he had better in Chicago honestly he was a great coach in Florida I know a lot of people will talk about you know I think he was he was with okay see for a while

[00:39:26] play I mean coach well there went to Chicago and he just haven't been able to find the right combination of players to put around their start talent whether it was well their roles got hurt

[00:39:40] can't really you know fall him on that but they've had other situations where just they could just never get it right and that derrosing to this day hurts Chicago and all Chicago bulls fan

[00:39:56] it was just they just they just smash the way from Chicago fans just like that and in Jerry's in the NBA can be cruel they can be very unforgiving and they can change the trajectory of your franchise

[00:40:12] in the most monumental way possible so Chicago is up against it they need to find the Levine trade whether it's they need to get creative somehow and need to start looking at some of these

[00:40:30] contenders and saying hey listen maybe it's not picks back maybe it's just like the trade they made for with okay see when Josh Gettie came to the bulls and Alex Cruz went to Oakland Oklahoma

[00:40:46] City I think they should start looking at that it's like you don't want this guy on your team anyway the vibes were bad last year and then as soon as he left the vibes or he makin'

[00:41:02] and I think that's something that they want to get back to they also want to allow Josh Gettie to see if he can reclaim some of his gang back and they're gonna need enough run way for our guy

[00:41:16] Matt is Boozellus their first from pick the Levine pick overall by the Chicago Bulls also hometown kid in Chicago also Lithuania so he you know he a bad boy he talk a lot of trash I love them

[00:41:33] a lot of energy so can't wait to see what he does this year so all right with that being said we can get up out of here we'll be back on this feed on Wednesday you know how we do it

[00:41:48] three times a week you know I can't do it with the fingers because it's broken anyway three times a week we do it that way right we do three times a week that way all right let's see is there anything else well

[00:42:02] obviously I told you my feelings on you know I'll tell you let's see what happens this weekend let's see if anything comes about nothing came about so I am now under the impression that

[00:42:18] people are kind of going to get in their parasoling get in the liquid situation square away and you're gonna start maybe people have started taking vacation we might not have a lot of action when it comes to transactional situations but keeping locked here because we're gonna go

[00:42:39] all the teams we're gonna talk about the you know the draft picks coming up from next year so we have a lot of plans so keep it locked with us at front runner podcast collective and again thank you

[00:44:26] post-taste we need to hit all the dry clings all of them right we need to hit all of them and then the other people that we need to hit is we need to hit the people at the past store

[00:44:46] pet grooming people you know saying people who get the treats for the dogs you know saying also the veterinarian who takes care of our dogs got talked to that guy while front runner
