[00:00:12] It's Monday, you know what time it is. Front Runner Podcast Collective is back on the air. I am your humble holds of Vince and today we're going to be talking about media day.

[00:00:25] It is here. People are in new uniforms. We're going to talk about Boston. We're going to talk about the new look Oklahoma City Thunder.

[00:00:37] We're going to just bounce around the league and basically what we're going to do is look at some of the quotes.

[00:00:44] We're also going to touch on a couple of teams and really just get into some of the best of media day.

[00:00:54] But before we do all that, let's get into the socials. X at Front Runner PC also get on with the producers at Raya Underscorer.

[00:01:06] Funge, FRPC. You stay locked on there. You're going to make sure that you are with us when news breaks.

[00:01:15] Like we were on top of the cat thing. We were really the first ones to get out of pot and break it down to all aspects from the New York NYX side, from the current crush time lineups.

[00:01:31] Also the financial ramifications. So if you have not heard that pod, it is on the feed. It was done Saturday. Please go ahead and take a look at that as well.

[00:01:45] The other thing is that you want to stay locked with us is the YouTube page where about to go under construction.

[00:01:53] We're going to try to make it a little more audited friendly, but polls up things of that nature. So bear with us.

[00:02:01] But we should be posting things and you should see a new look to the YouTube page.

[00:02:08] I want to say really starting next week. We're going to try to get to it throughout this week. Try to get everything clear it out and whatever.

[00:02:18] And then you'll start seeing new things start to pop up. Maybe on the weekend or the start of next week. So we have some things that are in the locker waiting to come out. Stay tuned to that.

[00:02:34] So front runner podcast collective on YouTube, get with us on there. And then the last thing is you guys are doing a hell of a job with being a friend and telling a friend.

[00:02:44] Okay, we are still doing really good numbers. Obviously we want to do better and also we want to connect with you more. So that's where the ex and Twitter come in handy.

[00:02:57] That's where the YouTube page come in handy. So when we revamp it and make it a little more audience friendly for you guys to leave your comments and things of that nature.

[00:03:07] We'll let you know and then let out. And we can see we can go ahead and build this community. All right.

[00:03:15] And with all that said, let's get into what we came to talk about which is media day of first and foremost couple things right off the bat.

[00:03:24] Clay Thompson looks absolutely weird in a Dallas Mavericks uniform. I just want to throw that out there. I saw that today and it was alarming.

[00:03:34] And then the couple other things that were like cool little sites to media day seeing Chris Paul with Victor Winba Yamma had to be one of most hilarious things I've seen in a while.

[00:03:48] This dude is seven for five Chris is okay, five eleven. I'll give him that.

[00:03:55] And you got this really young percosious kid with this savvy grizzled veteran.

[00:04:03] It was just a really cool pairing to see and I can't wait to see it on court. So we're like two, three days away from gangs are you excited?

[00:04:15] I am damn it. I'm a couple of things from today Anthony Edwards is just being Anthony Edwards and we'll get to him a little bit later, but Anthony keeps his super real.

[00:04:29] You ask him a question. He's going to give you an answer.

[00:04:32] One of these days, somebody is going to get to him and the spick it is going to get turned off and we're going to be so sad. But for right now we're getting just raw.

[00:04:45] And then in the Delta rated Anthony Edwards and it's brilliant. So his media day was awesome. I loved it.

[00:04:54] And then a couple other things to hit on.

[00:04:57] We saw the big three in Philadelphia. We saw Joel and be Paul George and Tyre's Maxi together and seeing those three in the blue 76 just uniform was cool. It was really awesome to see.

[00:05:11] We saw tips and jailing brunch in in Josh Hart. Be coy about Carl Anthony town since the deal is not completed yet.

[00:05:23] And then we saw Ronnie James and Dalton connect in media day and Ronnie James Holden Court and my man, Doug and connect just sitting up there looking super bored.

[00:05:36] Those are a lot to get to. Those were some of the kind of like snapshot just things that just cut my eye and I just wanted to run past it, but we actually have actual meat on the bones stuff to get to.

[00:05:51] And we're going to start with the Boston Celtics and I know there are people out there going events. Are you sick? Are you okay?

[00:06:01] Here's the thing. There's a message that peds me to start with the Boston Celtics because they are my most hate it rival.

[00:06:11] They are the world champions. So guess what? As the NBA champions we start off with the Boston Celtics and we're going to start off with what Brad Stevens had to say today.

[00:06:22] This was on navigating the CBA. He says, I think you always feel you have a sense of urgency to win and put yourself in the mix. Now, last events is that team came back basically whole obviously they have the injury with Chris Dawg porzingas.

[00:06:43] But they have enough depth from what they basically had from the championship run. There's nothing that left.

[00:06:53] So Horifords there, Cornets there, the kid they got from Memphis I can't. I'm drawing a blank what is named right now.

[00:07:02] Then they, you got your Drew holiday. You got your Derek White's.

[00:07:07] Jailing Brown and Jason Tatum or two of the most durable wings that you have in the league.

[00:07:15] Then you have Peyton Pitchard and everybody else. This team is loaded plus their draft it who was a college senior.

[00:07:23] I think he was a super senior.

[00:07:26] Baylor Sherman.

[00:07:29] If you look at this team and the Stevens discussed the Celtics approach under the new CBA, how Boston will rely on its defensive rating, which was 110.6 which was third in the league last season to maintain their title contention.

[00:07:45] Yeah, you can say with Chris Dawg porzingas out. They're taking a defensive hit but what the wings that are available with the way Derek White and the way Drew holiday plays.

[00:07:58] I don't see them taking any steps back anytime soon. Now, you can tell me the top of the East is more rugged.

[00:08:07] So they're, they're a cent to the top of the East will be a little more treacherous. I'll grant you that.

[00:08:14] The lay of the land is different.

[00:08:17] There's a couple more giants here, but also we saw a Boston team. I honestly don't think they played as well as they could play.

[00:08:31] Which is scary, right? They wanted championship.

[00:08:35] So, and also thinking about what I am saying.

[00:08:38] As somebody who has supported the lakers as long as I have had now, now that I've put my analysts had on, I think I'm less of a fan but we'll get into that on another part or whatever.

[00:08:51] But as I think about this, they're going into year two with this system.

[00:08:59] The system where we want to shoot 45 threes again.

[00:09:04] There were times where they did it with tremendous success last year.

[00:09:11] Could you imagine with another year continuity what's that's going to look like and how many threes they're going to put up and just they're going to literally

[00:09:21] see it into their brain that this is how they went because Joe Mozilla made it a math problem last year.

[00:09:30] And if they're going to continue to launch threes at this pace and also at the clip with what they'd make them because they don't care.

[00:09:40] 45 get them up. We'll see how that goes for them this year in a much more contested east.

[00:09:53] Now, let's talk about Jason Tatum leadership role. This is a quote.

[00:09:57] There's no question about our talent. It's about staying locked in and healthy. This is Jason Tatum.

[00:10:03] Now, Jason Tatum last year. His true shooting percentage was 60.5 last season and he'll likely be taken on a more of a playmaker role this year as you start to age through holiday a little bit.

[00:10:20] Maybe Jason takes on a little bit of more that role. He improved his assist percentage rating last year to 23.4.

[00:10:30] So that's something to look forward to this year and he's looking to adapt more to his game. This would be a better facilitator for his guys.

[00:10:40] Now, all this being said, Christophe Orzinga is we told you in a previous podcast that Brad said,

[00:10:52] he should be glad sooner rather than later. I told you to more caution, more caution with that. I told you don't care if he comes back in 2025 and I'm still there.

[00:11:09] Again, see Joe L. M. B. That's all you need to do. So to fans I know you're probably like out the New York next did this.

[00:11:20] Look at what Philadelphia's done. A Cleveland is a year older in the end as a year older. Is there another leap for Paulo Gancaro?

[00:11:31] Celtic fans.

[00:11:32] R. E. L. A. X. Relax.

[00:11:38] All right. And I think this would be a good time to segue into some other things that we saw.

[00:11:45] The other thing that you usually see in media day is you see messaging, right?

[00:12:00] The culture that we're trying to instill into the team this year or all these things. What have you? They had their bullet points they're talking about.

[00:12:10] We're going to get it to a couple of those.

[00:12:13] Because it's fun, fun, fun.

[00:12:15] All right. Let's start off with a high profile new coach in the NBA. He is a phenomenal podcaster.

[00:12:22] He did a podcast with LeBron James last year. He was also host of old men in the three. I'm also talking about Duke legend JJ Ray.

[00:12:35] He's a head coach of Los Angeles Lakers and this is his quote.

[00:12:41] I want 80 to take more of the reporters this season.

[00:12:47] And I will tell JJ.

[00:12:50] I heard Frank Vogel say this.

[00:12:53] I heard Darwin Ham say this.

[00:12:57] And it still hasn't happened. So if you got the magic elixir to allow Anthony Davis who shot 25% 25.7% from three last year on 1.3 attempts,

[00:13:12] if you found a way to boost that up to 33% and for attempt to gain my guy, you got my vote for coach of the year.

[00:13:24] I don't care what your record is.

[00:13:26] If you can get him to shoot like 8 to 9% better from 3 and have him shoot literally 4 times the amount of 30s that he's doing right now,

[00:13:39] my guy, you are a wizard. You might have some sorcery powers that we are not aware of, but we will see.

[00:13:51] Now I will tell you this. If for some reason there is some sort of uptake, whether it's via Anthony Davis, LeBron James.

[00:14:02] If it's via the Angela Russell Austin, Reza, whomever it is.

[00:14:09] Here's the thing about it. Here's the thing about it. If they attempt to shoot more 30s, if they do increase their 3. shooting just attempts.

[00:14:21] They have a better chance and a better opportunity to raise their effect to fill go percentage, which last year stood at a while 53.6%.

[00:14:32] You need to be in that 55 range, 56 range is like elite elite.

[00:14:38] But the thing that the 3 does, and this is something that JJ ready has talked about, and nausea.

[00:14:46] By shooting more 3s, it gives you more opportunities for driving lanes.

[00:14:53] Now you gotta have the guys to garner the respect of their 3.9 to not clogged the paint.

[00:15:01] But I understand the philosophy of what he's trying to convey to the makers.

[00:15:09] Now LeBron is 39 years old, 39 years of age. I will say that again. LeBron is 39 years of age.

[00:15:20] Okay, this is what 21 year and league.

[00:15:24] Bro, yeah, if you can get him to shoot more 3s right back at you.

[00:15:29] I think your volume 3.2 are really Austin Reeves and the Angela Russell, and it depends on the green light that they are given to see if they can go ahead and boost the number of the actual 3.10 shots from the Lakers.

[00:15:49] Those are the guys that are critical to that start now off the bench.

[00:15:53] That will be the task of gave Vincent and also Max Christie. Can they get a volume 3s while they're on the court?

[00:16:04] Now again, it would be great if your stars would do it.

[00:16:10] I just don't know if they are not even about capability. It's about whether they're want to allow for their games to transform into that.

[00:16:24] Now, to another guy who has been saying some stuff.

[00:16:29] Now, he had a quote today that basically said it's really hard to repeat.

[00:16:35] Now I want to give you a quote from previous. Now this is from Calvin Booth.

[00:16:41] Calvin Booth is the president of play a personal of the different nuggets.

[00:16:46] This is a quote from a little while last year. He says,

[00:16:53] It's not about today. It's about sustaining success.

[00:17:00] Okay, now let's couple that with the quote that he had today.

[00:17:06] Quote he had today was, it's hard to repeat. Calvin, you made a very astute point there.

[00:17:14] But also, I want to remind you it is also hard to repeat when you continue to lose valuable and vital pieces to the actual operation that made you a championship contender to begin with.

[00:17:32] So two years in a row, Bruce Brown Jr. left and went to Indiana. Got a big contract.

[00:17:40] We didn't bad at I. We said, yeah, that's going to sting. It's going to hurt what we understood the cat rent, the cat rentifications and things of that nature.

[00:17:49] We understood it. This year, we did not understand.

[00:17:53] Contabies call well, Pope took his talents to Orlando. And now Booth who has been preaching the young kids in development and that's why this quote came from.

[00:18:07] It's not just about today. It's about sustaining success. And he is quote all his eggs in the basket of Christian Brown, Julian Strother, Jalen Pickett, we shall see. Oh, Peyton Watson, I do not want to forget our UCLA guy.

[00:18:30] A clap while I'll Dave my brother and I hope you have a tremendous year. But here's the thing, Denver's defense of box plus minus is at a 1.7 and Christian Brown is a 1.2 he will be key as they aim to maintain their title contention status. Now I have had it on good authority that the final remaining starting slot

[00:18:59] is going to come down to Peyton Watson and Christian Brown. Those are the two guys. So you're looking at a team that is basically seeing that you're very familiar with so you have yolkage, you have Michael Porter, Jr. Aaron Gordon, then you have Jamal Murray

[00:19:17] that last but is held for Christian Brown or Peyton Watson, whoever wins that count battle will start.

[00:19:28] Just a little piece of the information and I come up with everyone to the wall. A Kevin O'Connor who has now switched over to Yahoo, he emphasizes the importance of key can dimmer its offensive rating at 118.2 at the top of the league.

[00:19:42] Now you can say the choice between Peyton Watson and the choice between Christian Brown is the choice between offense and defense. I do not believe that.

[00:19:55] I believe it's a different type of offense. I do not believe necessarily that you are giving up offense to just have defense.

[00:20:06] I think Christian Brown is a really good defensive clip. I don't know if he has the athleticism of Peyton Watson, who is athletic freak and also can provide some room protection that Christian Brown cannot.

[00:20:21] But if you're saying that Christian Brown is like this dead eye shooter, but we still haven't seen that yet.

[00:20:29] So to me, the jury is still out. I think there's a lot of things that you can do with Peyton Watson that make him viable in a starting lineup even though he's not the greatest spacer that he could be.

[00:20:42] I think you can put him in the Bruce Brown role and the dunker spot because of yokeage and the gravity that he possesses.

[00:20:51] It just depends on what Michael Mollon decides on the importance and what he feels is going to be the better, I guess the better reliability for his team in the long term.

[00:21:05] Well, we will see how it all plays out. But that'll be one of the early season things that I'm looking for and I gave you that nugget early. So this is something that you guys can look out for as we go forward.

[00:21:20] Now, we're going to get to one of my favorite people in the NBA and actually I should say, I should take that back.

[00:21:29] This is one of my wife's favorite people in the NBA. We are getting to Jimmy Butler, or the Miami heat.

[00:21:37] Okay, Jimmy Butler has been known for his outrageous hairstyles in the past on media day when you take the media day, you have the media day photo.

[00:21:51] When they do the starting lineups on the on any national televised game or whatever.

[00:22:00] So Jimmy has had fun with that and went at the fans put like the last three or four years.

[00:22:11] This year was a little bit different.

[00:22:15] Jimmy came business like this year. It was 100% Jimmy 100% of the time.

[00:22:25] Here's a quote from Jimmy Butler, I've got a clue that I'm major part of a winning of winning and rightfully now this comment or this quote from Jimmy Butler has a lot to do with a pat rally quote.

[00:22:42] Pat Riley said, during the off season, hey, we are not given Jimmy Butler an extension because he has to play actual games.

[00:22:58] I'm going to tell you one thing, we lost Jerry West earlier this year and it devastated me at a personal relationship with Jerry souls. It was a little more tougher.

[00:23:10] Pat Riley was part of my childhood because Showtime, Lakers, Magic Johnson, Creme, the whole thing. Jerry West put it together, the whole story.

[00:23:23] But Pat Riley is from the old school and when he leaves man somewhere our quotes are just going to be not as good because he tells you exactly how it is.

[00:23:38] So Jimmy Butler obviously has come in with a more renewed vigor to play, unless a less cavalier attitude towards low management and kind of saying, hey, we need to shift from that and be here for the team.

[00:23:55] Here's my thought. Butler is playing with a bunch of motivation now you could use this two ways to do that in a second.

[00:24:02] But he's full, he's filled with not receiving a contract in this off season. Now he's a vital piece to what Miami has done but he has played he played in 63 games last season including his playoffs absence due to injury is raised availability concerns and how can you give somebody 40 45 plus million dollars a year.

[00:24:31] If that there's a quarter of the season that person is not going to be there. Sound the clippers sounds quite Leonard.

[00:24:43] Pat Riley is not going down that route.

[00:24:47] You either play and then you get paid and you show us that you're committed to this team or be you continue to do what you're doing and then we will make a business decision of our own.

[00:25:01] That's how that's going go. I think though that this gives Miami a really good chance to make some noise going into this season if they have a locked engine,

[00:25:17] butler because a locked engine, well, there is going to give you a ton of effort and just be an absolute past on the defensive end and he's such a smart offensive player as well.

[00:25:29] So I'm looking forward to seeing a playoff Jimmy in the regular season and see what that looks like.

[00:25:37] Now we kind of talked about it briefly at the top and I'm going to hit on it again now Clay Thompson in a Maverick uniform to me was just the oddest thing I saw today.

[00:25:50] It just hit me so like it just hit a nerve. It was just and I lost out curry.

[00:25:58] I would say that if the lakers are not winning, I enjoy watching stuff curry play basketball and with that in with that being said also Clay Thompson in their hey date playing basketball.

[00:26:14] Remember there was some lean times back in the teens of the 20s as far as that's concerned.

[00:26:21] And just seeing him in that uniform was just it struck me to struck me as I but here's what they're getting.

[00:26:30] Could his 41 to 41.2% 3. shooting from last year could that be the unlocking of this offense when you know you have Clay Thompson standing out there.

[00:26:45] Who are you doubling?

[00:26:49] You got to double look at right he's a load. He if he if he gets to the basket he's going to score or give out.

[00:26:59] Kyrie is a menace with the basketball in his hand and now you have Clay Thompson and you also have Clay Thompson in a role where it came out is not 18 shots again bro.

[00:27:12] It's 12 we want you to find the perfect spot will hit you with the pass you get all hit load up and shoot your shot and we'll have a great.

[00:27:27] And the more and more I have thought about this situation with him going to those I know the defensive situation is not what it used to be.

[00:27:39] I understand that his defensive prowess or his deep offensive reputation that is gone.

[00:27:45] We saw a slower Clay Thompson last year we saw a laterally.

[00:27:52] Challenged Clay Thompson.

[00:27:56] And it's probably really hard to be the same guy you were coming off in an ACL tier and also in a kill east tier back to back.

[00:28:05] But if you're telling me with quint and grimes with the two big say god Daniel Gaffert and our guy Derek Lively Jr.

[00:28:15] Who everybody in the Mavericks organization believes he will take a huge step this year.

[00:28:25] Anybody who will talk to me all say that Derek Lively Jr. or Derek Lively the second they feel will be taking a big step this year.

[00:28:41] Take that if you're Dallas fan or if you're a person who bets or fancy or whatever the case may be.

[00:28:48] That's little inside baseball information for you right there.

[00:28:55] What this move means also is that if you looked at last year if you looked at what the Mavericks had now they had look at and Kyrie was in there and out of there if you remember the playoff run there were a couple games where he deferred way too much.

[00:29:12] Now we found out that he had some sort of broken hand or something and playoff or whatever and maybe that cause some of the lack of aggression on Kyrie's part.

[00:29:26] What now you got a dead eye shooter out there and if you're saying hey tonight we need to lean on you because Kyrie doesn't have it.

[00:29:38] Kyrie is still effective he can get into the paint and then kick it out to shooters and if you have Luke a Kyrie and Clay on the court.

[00:29:49] Clay is going to get some open looks there's no question of why that his quality of look is going to get better no offense to what Golden State was last year.

[00:30:02] We're just talking about a completely different animal now that's my take on that it's still super weird to see Clay in a Mavericks uniform, but he's probably going to shoot the hell out the ball this year so good luck to us.

[00:30:16] All right, a couple other things and then we can probably get up out of here but Adam chefter of ESPN long standing NFL insider he was basically the world of the NFL is now the world of the NBA Adam chefter looks like he's going to be replacing.

[00:30:38] Adrian Weldonowski as the NBA insider and what ESPN is basically calling it the ultimate insider covering NBA and NFL so he will continue with his duties in the NFL and then also double as an NBA insider.

[00:31:00] Two things with this with woes leaving and then putting shepter in there two things you have football going on as basketball.

[00:31:12] Especially at that time of the year when January comes up we got coaching decisions in the NFL and we started to get trade rumors in the NBA now I understand that Adam chefter is a absolute professional understand that he's a machine.

[00:31:30] I've heard the work ethic I've heard the regimen and all of these things I'm not going to say that this man is going to allow things to slip through the cracks when I'm asking for or the days of nuance at ESPN are they just over.

[00:31:49] Are we just transactional at this point here's the games.

[00:31:53] Oh this is what we heard Phoenix is trying to trade for X player or the liquors are trying to get Y do and that's it.

[00:32:06] I'll tell you what they could have had me for a hell of a lot less man you pay whatever you want to add them chefter I'm sure I'm sure you're paying him a pretty penny but that's.

[00:32:17] I'm going to say 2.8 million and just call to the day and get me some money but anyway at the end of the day I wonder.

[00:32:29] Two things one just what I said are we going to get any nuance are we going to get any context to any of these deals or stories or rumors and then the second thing is that.

[00:32:45] You let Zach logo and I'm not saying that Zach logo could have been a world I'm saying that.

[00:32:52] You could have put somebody in the spot of a world and then Zach who is an incredible writer he could have gave context and nuance to the rumor you could have put somebody on air said hey this is what I'm hearing this is what's going down that person's probably.

[00:33:12] I'm not sure if you're going to be a super excited about being on air and then Zach logo your your veteran NBA writer.

[00:33:25] One of the best podcasts you have on ESPN.

[00:33:30] I absolutely must listen to in the Carter household I must say myself and now he's gone and Adam Shaftar is doing NBA it's a brave new world tell you that it's a brave new world.

[00:33:53] The last thing that we need to hit is something that I'm glad we got a quote for this.

[00:34:01] This is from Damian Lillard and this is from the Milwaukee bucks media day he said.

[00:34:08] quote we were in contact the whole offseason but we did not get on the court together and he's talking about with the other star on the Milwaukee bucks which is yannas and to come and I found this to be extremely.

[00:34:26] I'm going to be odd in upsetting and then I took a step back I took a step back.

[00:34:38] Fan events had to go away and analysts have been it's had to come in when you hear this quote this is what everybody's seeing they haven't even done drill the first of all.

[00:34:52] yannas went to the Olympics folks and yannas whatever we would like to call him a wing power forward or whatever he's a big.

[00:35:07] yannas takes an absolute beating every single year the last couple years he's been injured that has preempted a long playoff run for the Milwaukee bucks.

[00:35:21] So yannas probably stayed in Greece did his workouts there.

[00:35:27] state in shape of whatever videos and stuff that doc were trying to implement they shift them on over the yannas and he did his thing.

[00:35:37] Meanwhile.

[00:35:38] Dame is in the states working out with like some former marine and like health enthusiasts and like health enthusiasts to the stars.

[00:35:51] and he's in incredible shape trying to get his core together because that's what he's been ailing him the last three or four years is he even has surgery to fix the.

[00:36:09] and he's been doing everything his power to get that right and as he said.

[00:36:24] he said this he said hey I didn't train last off season well I didn't know where I was going and I wanted to make sure I wasn't going into training camp with some sort of like knee injury lingering growing injury or whatever case may be.

[00:36:40] so now we have dang full off season he's in great shape.

[00:36:47] and he's going to be a minute or whatever and again.

[00:36:53] I will say the kick-and-roll situation between yannas and Damian Lillard was not existent last year the early returns on what that looks like this year will tell us all we need to know on what the Milwaukee bucks season.

[00:37:10] and we'll look like if they're running more kick-and-roll those two those specific two together.

[00:37:19] this is a better more diversified very hard to stop offense if they continue to work independently of one another we are going to run into the same issues that we did last year.

[00:37:38] and I wonder which superstar will go first if this trend of lack of pick and roll between the two continues.

[00:37:52] a couple other things before we get out of here I want also want to say the bucks off it's a rating last year even though it was such a a slog right a 117.3 which if you think about it if you go back like 10 years this would have been far.

[00:38:09] and a way the best offense of rating now that we've gone a decade and people say that's right do things have gotten better in 10 years you need to deal with the change like catch up oh guy but here's what I'm saying.

[00:38:27] and a year where they struggled in a year where they couldn't find identity in a year where there was a continuity of what the coaching staff and or with the second coach staff that they had.

[00:38:42] they scored they had an offensive rating of 117.3 which is two to three points off the top mark so they now they were not necessarily so far away from.

[00:38:54] really getting to where they needed to go so a couple of choice here and a couple little nuances here we could see a completely different Milwaukee bucks team.

[00:39:06] I think it's all tied to the yannis. Damian Lillard picking roll.

[00:39:12] if you tell me they're doing this in more volume early on the season I expect really good things for the Milwaukee bucks if you tell me it looks very similar to last season.

[00:39:24] I tell you that we have a problem in Milwaukee. All right now couple of things I want to get to because we did do the call Anthony Towns Julie Fremel trait now as of right now as of recording.

[00:39:44] which is at 523 Pacific Standard Time the trade was not completely finalized.

[00:39:52] Do we expected we find lie yes do we think everything is in place yes Julie is in Minnesota cat is in New York City.

[00:40:03] Don't even think it's where he needs to be which is in Minnesota.

[00:40:09] The questions are just the actual machinations of the trait I think Dequan Jeffries has to go first to Charlotte to allow this to go through so there's some paperwork things that they are working out and then they will go ahead and announce the trade is complete.

[00:40:30] But as I was thinking about the trade and as we talked about it on the previous part the emergency part where we broke it all down.

[00:40:41] There were a couple more things that kind of.

[00:40:43] I thought about in this.

[00:40:48] We made a big deal about Dante Devin Chanzo and I made a comment in the pod about that this was a twofold answer to a problem.

[00:41:01] And what I meant by that was that my colleague Jr is 37 years old so he is going to need time on and injury might take him out for a little while.

[00:41:14] So there's Dante Devin Chanzo who is a 40% 3. shooter and also like a 43% catching shoot 3. shooter which is excellent.

[00:41:27] I am thinking that Dante Devin Chanzo is way more valuable to the Minnesota Timberwolves than Julie's Randall.

[00:41:38] Hear me out on this.

[00:41:41] I'm not saying that Julie's Randall is not a all star.

[00:41:44] I'm not saying that Julie's Randall cannot fit on the Minnesota Timberwolves.

[00:41:49] I'm not saying that whatsoever.

[00:41:52] But the.

[00:41:54] His ability or Dante Devin Chanzo's ability to buffer for Mike Collin Jr and then on the opposite end.

[00:42:04] But for for Rob dealing him to me is the most important thing of this deal.

[00:42:12] This allows Rob dealing him to develop.

[00:42:16] We said this on the previous part I want to re-inarrate it here and as I thought about it and kept on.

[00:42:22] I was just a little bit more confident about the.

[00:42:22] The room and aiding on the trade.

[00:42:24] I came to this.

[00:42:25] A cliff and that Dante Devin Chanzo.

[00:42:29] The defense that he provides point of attack.

[00:42:32] The just the intentionality of getting into passing lanes and getting deflections of what have you.

[00:42:40] This brings another level of perimeter defense to.

[00:42:47] The Minnesota Timberwolves that they didn't necessarily have last year and if you pair him with Anthony Edwards in that back court.

[00:42:54] This takes a little less.

[00:42:57] Little more stress off of Rudy go bare who doesn't have his 611 7 foot count of point in call and the town's.

[00:43:10] He has a six foot eight.

[00:43:12] Brewster.

[00:43:13] Power forward in Julius Randall.

[00:43:16] So Rudy go bare with going where Coco Moore has this season.

[00:43:20] But if the point of attack defense is going to be so nasty with jade and megg Daniels.

[00:43:26] Anthony Edwards Dante Devin Chanzo.

[00:43:31] And in the list goes on.

[00:43:33] We haven't even talked about it in the kill Alexander Walker.

[00:43:37] They got Jaylen Clark on this team, which is he was out with a killies injury last year.

[00:43:43] He was the second round pick out of UCLA a couple years ago.

[00:43:47] You don't know what we're getting from him.

[00:43:49] So there's a lot to be.

[00:43:52] Look forward to and then also the versatility that everybody speaks up.

[00:43:56] Nause read is sitting right there.

[00:43:58] So you really want to go to.

[00:44:02] Something close to what you had last year.

[00:44:05] Nause read does shoot the three ball at a not just a respectful level, but a level where people are going to pay onus

[00:44:14] and attention to him.

[00:44:16] So you would basically have the same offensive configuration as you did last year.

[00:44:24] So you still got that in your bag even with Julius Randall there.

[00:44:29] Now the financial ramifications are still what they are.

[00:44:35] There's no getting around them Minnesota say $8.5 million and it looks like that was on purpose.

[00:44:45] In November the situation between Glen Taylor, Lori and A-Rod will have fixed itself because it's going to arbitration.

[00:44:57] And they will be a final answer to who is going to own this team.

[00:45:05] Remember also Tim Colleen has really worked his contract where he is now a one year executive.

[00:45:15] So if for some reason the ownership situation doesn't fall a certain way which I would tend to believe that Tim Colleen wants it to fall the way of the Lori A-Rod side.

[00:45:30] Then it would be the Glen Taylor side.

[00:45:34] Could you imagine Tim Colleen as a free agent next year?

[00:45:41] These are the type of things that go through my head.

[00:45:43] And here's the other thing and I think I did make mention this in the emergency park but I want to bring this up.

[00:45:51] For the Minnesota fans who are just absolutely killing this deal or the local media who are absolutely killing this deal, you have the right person in place to pivot off of Julius Randall and get what you require to get back some of the things that maybe you lost with.

[00:46:13] Carl Anthony tells if you choose to go that route or you could pivot off of Julius Randall and bolster even more maybe picks and or maybe a couple more bench players or whatever the case may be.

[00:46:27] But you have the right guy at this point in time in place.

[00:46:35] My question is, come November when the decision is made will Tim Colleen be looking out for himself or will he be looking out for the Minnesota timber walls.

[00:46:51] So we'll be interested to see how that arbitration goes but I wanted to leave you with those thoughts.

[00:46:57] Now before we get up out of here, obviously there will be more things that come out of media day if there are any kind of like explosive quotes or things that we need to hit on.

[00:47:07] We will go hit and finish those up on Wednesday.

[00:47:12] We will then also be reintroducing reintroducing you to the class of 2025 when it comes to the NBA draft prospects.

[00:47:23] So we went through a couple three or four in the last couple of pots.

[00:47:30] We will continue that as well as the week goes along so keep that as something if you are interested in the draft,

[00:47:40] you know what to come front runner podcast collective we got all your needs baby if you like front office.

[00:47:45] We got you if you like CBA like nicks and crannies of the CBA we got you.

[00:47:59] I see you out there analytics people, I see you Monday Wednesday and Friday we're here for you.

[00:48:06] So with that being said, the best part of you is you make sure that the people that are around you are doing nothing but to brighten your light.

[00:48:15] And bring you to the person that you need to be so you can go ahead and do good in the good in this world.

[00:48:23] We will see you back on this feet on Wednesday and as always, dooses and we out.
