[00:00:41] The B-A-Fran telephinemotra motto, the lifestyle that we are living today in Houtland or Houtville However, we want to put this, we need to we need to coin a phrase for our community But

[00:02:02] But particularly leaning into this week You know what we've done and then go ahead and give you all of the quotes and things that are out there

[00:02:16] On your favorite players on your teens what they're doing and how they're doing it so keep front runner podcast collective on YouTube Like subscribe now like today That will be helpful And then X Twitter The producers are going to start utilizing the account they didn't utilize a lot

[00:02:43] They've been posting things and what have you I think they're going to start asking you guys questions so keep a lookout for that and that is at rea underscore Funge FRPC and then you can get me at front runner PC

[00:03:00] Okay, so now that we got all of the socials out of the way Well, we're going to talk about today is we're going to go ahead and do some house cleaning We're going to go ahead and start talking about some of the franchises

[00:03:16] And what they did so far in the off season Now we know that there still some major major pieces to be moved And we will talk about that in the upcoming podcast That will be released on Friday

[00:03:33] But we know that there are certain things that are not done There's no way that Miami is staying over the cap in the second apron What the team looking at the way it is right now, part Riley will never do that

[00:03:49] We also know that the brand the ingriting still hasn't has a resolution yet So we're working on those type of things So when we look at Golden State right now all we're looking at is what has transpired at this present time

[00:04:09] After we'll give you some observations and things that we've heard on things that we kind of lined out And you know, we'll quote some other people and go from there So let's start with Golden State now clay Thompson leaves Right

[00:04:29] If you hadn't heard the story or if you just been said that Clay Thompson has left Basically they could not bridge a gap as far as what the contract should be That was the first and foremost thing The second thing clay Thompson seemed to be really upset about

[00:04:51] The Golden State Warriors might done leaving Junior and Kurt like a Saying to clay Thompson basically hey we have some business that we need to take here first Once we take here this business then we'll come back to you and get you the contract

[00:05:10] For clay as somebody who had been in the Golden State Warriors organization for 13 years I can see where he could take a personal front to that Wait hold on. I got to be the act of thought I help Bill The splash Brothers I help you get four championships

[00:05:38] And I'm on the appetite Now They could have And this has been a theme in the Golden State Warriors organization over like the last I say last four years Cole calculated organization They ran the Bob Myers contract out They

[00:06:06] Allow Drayman green to kind of live in this space of lunacy and being dangerous to teammates and also to the franchise goals So there seems to be some sort of like rebellion while while West aspect to what goes on And in the Bay But

[00:06:32] I know some people who have worked in that organization who probably continue to work in this in that organization now They feel like the organizations will run They feel like there's a plan there's a purpose They feel like yes Could they have handled the clay situation better?

[00:06:54] Yes, but also keep in mind Curt Lake and Mike Dunliving Jr This is all new territory. We're dealing with things That are Really weird Because we remember Bob Myers ran that organization for a long period of time

[00:07:14] And he had a way of communicating in a way of creating a message where it seemed to just kind of like okay We can all collaborate. We can all work together Now you got two new guys in there who are

[00:07:30] Getting their feet wet and I'm not saying that they're not up to the task What I'm saying is is that there's going to be a different approach in Golden State from here on out And yes

[00:07:45] Did they have to rip the band aid off a clay they had to because The one thing that we've talked about on this podcast over like the last two weeks is What is the main component of what the new NBA is going to look like?

[00:08:02] You got to be able to dribble past and shoot Defend Those things are important in the NBA Clay can shoot Clay cannot create for himself And he can't pass He can hit the Okman he can swing it But a creative pass

[00:08:31] I'm like okay I'm driving to the lane Do I see the guy and do I see the Okman corner shooter? That's not Clay's back He's going to a place where he has two phenomenal creators And actually there's a virgining third one

[00:08:51] So if you look at Clay he moves to Dallas he has Luca who is like a Modern modern version of magic Johnson Right eyes on the backwards head See things that you shouldn't see Six foot eight Absolute tank and he's just absolutely just Incredibly hard to deal with

[00:09:13] Then you have Kai Rhee who's just this Absolute Ball of energy and when he gets it going and gets it going towards the paint All eyes are on him like two-poque say And then you're open and there's a phenomenal pass

[00:09:33] That's thrown to you right in the pocket you shoot and there goes And then they also have Derek Lively Jr Who showed tremendous awareness Offence of awareness in the playoffs So for Clay I think this was a phenomenal move

[00:09:51] And also for Golden State this is something that they had to move away from And less Clay was going to accept a lesson role Now we saw how hard that was for him Last year so I don't know if that would have went well this year

[00:10:11] Now let's talk about what they have to so I want to give Kudos to Kurt Lake up and my done leave you Jr They brought in buddy healed they brought in Kyle Anderson And they also brought in D Anthony Milton Now in this situation

[00:10:36] I really like all the three pieces that they brought in Because what he held handles the shooting that he lost with Clay Kyle Anderson represents the size that she lost with Clay

[00:10:55] And D Anthony Milton it of healthy because he has some lingering back issues that we just don't know If he's healthy or not and we'll find out this year right

[00:11:09] But if D Anthony Milton is healthy this is somebody who is going to be instrumental in what Golden State does this year He's a 6th or 2 and a half 6th or 3 guard who seems to be able to guard up from his position he rebounds well

[00:11:25] He shoots a 3 he loves to defend this is a perfect compliment To what Golden State wants to do And all three of these guys are interchangeable And all three of these guys have just a really high basketball IQ which is something that Golden State absolutely needs

[00:11:48] Remember that when buddy healed left the Indiana Pacers Tyreys Halliburton talked about how Dip Colt now it was going to be because buddy healed set really nice screens They would do guard on guard screen for a high picking roll

[00:12:07] And buddy would know when to slip he would know when to stay he would know when that Tyreys will try to get downhill and to attack the paint He just had awareness to him

[00:12:21] And if you remember now we did blame it on the injuries that were going on with Tyreys Haliburton because he did have Oh, well it was a great injury that pretty much played him the rest of the second half of the season

[00:12:37] But he talked about missing buddy healed He talked about what he meant to the offense and how his role was Intercultural what they did and now you bring that to the Golden State warriors who base everything all movement

[00:12:54] I think this is a perfect fit for what stuff and what Steve Kerr wants to do and activate some of these other guys because they're going to be the important pieces So we move on to the pillars now the pillars have changed It used to be stuff Clay

[00:13:16] Dremon KD It used to be stuff clay, Dremon, Igledala however you want to put that one But now it's just stuff and Dremon and In this podcast I want to say around Christmas time or maybe around the first of the year and it made a comment

[00:13:41] And I said Dremon doesn't realize how good a friend Steph Kerr he was To him And it's just so funny that the two Members standing Of the Golden State dynasty are stuff and Dremon

[00:14:02] Kerr he knows he needs Dremon he needs his energy he needs his offensive of initiation He needs all of those things to be able to do the things that he's good at Which is coming off wall Coming off screens Clean That's the thing with clay

[00:14:21] Or with Steph is that can he come off a screen clean Now when Dremon is acting up and acting crazy When Dremon is acting up and acting crazy You have a situation where now he's missing games

[00:14:44] And that affects just a whole rotation of what Golden State wants to do But with Kyle Anderson there you have another guy who can kind of maybe not in the same vein as Dremon but basically can you be used as that hug

[00:15:04] Definitely awareness on the offensive then gets to get to the ball the shooters and being 69 And he goes at his own pace, you know what his nickname is slow-mo But Kyle Anderson is just a constant professional and he's going to hit the open shot

[00:15:24] He's going to hit the open man he's going to get to rebound he's going to make the outlet pass He's just a solid basketball player

[00:15:33] And he's going to be integral to not what just stuff and Dremon does but the other pieces because now we need to talk about Who can take it to the next level

[00:15:44] For the ghost day warriors now I have three people in this bracket and the people that I have in this bracket And I want to say this for everybody out there this is the time of hope

[00:15:59] This is a time of just like hey they're going to be the best they could possibly beat what I do want to give a caveat All development is not linear Okay Just because somebody had an uptick last year doesn't mean that same

[00:16:18] percentage of uptick is going to necessarily go into the next year They could struggle Their role could change And then now they got to fill out another role and especially in with this particular team you just lost clay toxon the roles are going to change

[00:16:37] People's productivity and opportunities are going to change Now how you deal with those opportunities and how you deal with the responsibility of what has been laid at your feet Because you just lost a 13 year vet a four-tonch champion that's a different type of pressure

[00:17:00] You are now maybe on the whiteboard and you weren't and what I mean by the whiteboard is Every team in the league has a whiteboard where they have a set of roles or principles that they're going to utilize in their game plan

[00:17:20] For the specific offensive threats that they have or defensive threats depending on how the team is set up Yeah, you want some guys who are definitely going to end up on the whiteboard who are not there last year

[00:17:34] So let's get into it right now the guys who possibly could hit another level Jonathan Caminga who came on last year He definitely played he wanted to play he spoke out about playing in his opportunities And he didn't make the most of it

[00:17:58] So he had a really good third year campaign he did was Steve Kerr asked him to do which was rebound That's what got him on the court. That's what calmed him on the court

[00:18:09] The thing with Jonathan Caminga is going to be the big thing to unlock all of it all the athleticism all the potential He still got a lot to learn one

[00:18:23] There I'll not say in there from maturity issues. I'm just saying that someone needs to convey to Jonathan Caminga That if you concentrate on the defensive side of the wall The offensive opportunities that you're looking for are going to be there because you have set up incredible wingspan

[00:18:46] You have such a lightness on your feet that you can be able to move laterally That you're going to get steals into flexions And then your team is going to be off to the races so the dunks Put backs on light Steph three on on on fast breaks

[00:19:10] These are the opportunities that Jonathan Caminga Once desires and knows necessarily what will make him successful But what we have not seen from Jonathan Caminga is the commitment on the defensive side of the wall to get better So if he wants his offense to take this next leap

[00:19:35] He needs to concentrate on the defensive side of the wall Our next guy that we're going to talk about is the rookie out of Santa Clara last year branding Pod Zimski B Pods was out of his mind last year He plays so well

[00:19:53] And it's a credit when you take somebody who spent three years in a college form You know he's seen pressure he's been to confidence tournaments He's played big games against big time talent

[00:20:11] Now yeah, this is a different level at the NBA level no doubt but at least being in that atmosphere And having time to mature And matriculate yourself in a point where it's like oh this is now slower to me

[00:20:27] Oh I've seen big crowds. Oh I've seen ESPN come to my games Oh I've seen us get to the tournament and it's a one and done high pressurized situation And I need to lock in my focus So Kazinski comes out shows an array of skills one

[00:20:47] He's an offensive initiator So another guy who can pass shoe and dribble It's going to be a thing folks, so get used to it You might want to start a drinking game off of it or whatever the case may be Go bananas

[00:21:04] But Kazinski showed the ability to shoot the three He rebounds at a high level for his position in his size You know there were a lot of times where he was getting six seven rebounds in a game

[00:21:18] And also he has a little kind of MF or a tool you know like he didn't get pumped He stayed in people's faces when they definitely did not want him in their face He seemed to talk trash a little bit as well

[00:21:42] But not like crazy trash not like our guy Anthony Edwards that guy talks crazy trash But just enough where it's like hey I'm here. I'm just letting you know that is not it's not the same like little white dude out here

[00:21:58] And you can just say all kind of crazy stuff to me because I'm gonna hit this three And then I'm gonna look at you and I'm like yo this is gonna be all night playboy

[00:22:09] So Brandon Kazinski and the thing that he needs to just continue to do is continue to learn the cur system He needs to figure out the ends and outs of it where he can be effective and find his his niche role

[00:22:24] Now I think that he has a real opportunity to take another leap because to me he came in and kind of did that his first year And I think when you can do that as a rookie on a team that did have aspirations now

[00:22:42] I know those aspirations dwindled As Andrew Wiggins decided not to play basketball What you saw with Brandon is you saw him like okay, alright

[00:22:54] I can go ahead and be aggressive offensively right now because you know clay was having some issues and you know curry was off the court He can't play curry 48 minutes game

[00:23:08] So Brandon found his spots and then he found his spots in the way like okay now I'll play a wick curry I need to defer Those are subtle nuances of the game that rookie's really don't pick up on early in their career Either they're too passive

[00:23:31] Where they're deferring too much. They're just a struck a who they're on the court with or they have a rational confidence and they're like yo This is now my team Hey, listen y'all spread out. I'm an ISO this situation. This is me

[00:23:52] But pods found a balance and I was really not just intrigued but I was I was impressed by what he was able to pull off in his rookie hair prank

[00:24:03] The last guy that we want to talk about is trace Jackson Davis he was the big they came on in Indiana. He was also a late second round pig There's a lot of talk about a high profile second round pig

[00:24:21] I'm not going to tell you that guy if you don't turn out to be trace Jackson Davis but what trace was able to do

[00:24:31] Which was really hard to do he was able to take the physicality and his athleticism from Indiana and it transposed it into the NBA pretty seamlessly The other thing is that trace Jackson Davis has a flop that played in the NBA

[00:24:54] So he was one of the Davis brothers that played in Indiana So he has a feel for the game that is is natural and is organic to him

[00:25:06] So for him the play in the Golden State system was like literally just basketball and Arana as my dog eats his bone He must be in no brana as well at this point

[00:25:22] The thing with trace Jackson Davis he's going to have to just elevate all the things that he did last year He's going to have to elevate the rebounding you know get stronger you know obviously as the season war on I mean trace Jackson Davis played like

[00:25:44] At the most 38 games in the season and Indiana here you play in 82 So get stronger Make sure that that that mental fatigue doesn't hit you Now he'll be a lot more prepared this year than he was last year

[00:26:03] And then the other thing is is that I don't know if the outside shy will ever come But continue to roll hard to the basket continue to also look for shooters in the corner That was something that he was really good at

[00:26:18] I want him to continue to work on that skill Get quicker with his decisions sometimes I saw him kind of think out there a little bit but it wasn't It wasn't a locked so it gave me hope that

[00:26:33] This is like oh, I maybe he just like a wall and sometimes you just get fatigue and your mind is not working It's not firing you know like it was so

[00:26:47] Maybe that will just it and maybe now with another year under his belt he won't understand what it's going to take to get through those Type of situations that he didn't have in his toolbox going in to last year

[00:27:01] Okay, so the guys that we need we need more from In Golden State Moses moody and Andrew Wiggins two different reasons most of moody just needs opportunities Well Moses your time has come buddy

[00:27:19] Your six six we're gonna wait and for you for a while you should be able to guard your yeah ass off You can shoot the three the corner three We still don't know about his offense initiation debt

[00:27:34] I'm not seeing that a lot from him now he can play the game He knows what it be he's a tough minded defender. He does rebound at a high level for his position, which I love

[00:27:47] It's are you running shoot consistently and for some reason are you gonna find the role that specifically fits you are are you gonna continue to fight the role that You envision yourself as something that Golden State definitely doesn't see you as and

[00:28:09] There's some sort of inner turmoil there in between the player and the player development people And I don't know what the disconnect is but I really hope that they find themselves this year because I think Moses is really talented I believe that if he was preded

[00:28:30] I think we would see a different Moses moody then we saw it going state and it wouldn't be like oh Golden State Well kind of yeah, we'll be they kind of dropped the bag a little bit right But Remember opportunity where are you land in the draft?

[00:28:48] Is also going to be let you know where your aquatundies are going to land If you land on the team that has chances of going in a deep playoff run Yeah, you're gonna be asked to do maybe two things specifically on a basketball court all that light

[00:29:11] Has he dribble between twin between your legs You know getting in your bag Doing like high level picking roll tight stuff that you were doing in college You know seemingly pretty effectively

[00:29:26] No, they're not gonna let you do that here in the NBA unless you're like one of those dudes So we'll see and with Andrew Wiggins it's It's baffling to me Now I know there was some personal things that went on and then those personal things did get out

[00:29:47] There is speculation whether it's true or not I'm not here to get into all that. I just want to talk about the guy I'm basketball court Now He's still fairly young, which is still the light the most amazing thing to this

[00:30:07] But Andrew Wiggins in 2022 when they were in the NBA finals It's hard press for me to say that he wasn't the second most important warrior on the on the winning NBA finals team

[00:30:26] So whatever happened to that guy I just I don't know. I just I just don't know why that guy disappeared I don't know if it was the extension he got the extension and now it's like oh it's time that coast on in Because now I'm a mad man

[00:30:49] Or if it's just whatever all the personal stuff that happened I don't know but he's definitely not the same basketball player. He's not as aggressive He doesn't even rebound at an average level for his position now, which is amazing to me

[00:31:08] He's been overtaking by Jonathan Camingo, which that tells you all you need to know Okay, and this is the dude that could average light 22 points again He's talented enough. He can shoot through a well enough. He's athletic enough to get to the rim

[00:31:26] He can find the open shooter. He's not really easily adapt it, but he can do it at a decent level But his rebounding and his his length in his athleticism should be his calling card to get out into the open court

[00:31:45] And he has a running mate in Jonathan Camingo where literally they get almost kind of take the reins from curry If they played their cards right and I am just at a loss why we can't see that Andrew Wiggins anymore So we'll see

[00:32:06] Couple questions I have about the gun state warriors and kind of leads into the next thing that we're gonna talk about is who's the number two On this team who's the number two option. We know that curry is going to get his 22 shots Right

[00:32:24] Who is going to take the 16 who's gonna take that 16 shots again behind him? Do you trust Jonathan Camingo? Because those results are varying Is it the right time for Pazinski to be that guy?

[00:32:46] I mean, your most favorable situation is Andrew Wiggins. The of the options that are available to you on the team I know you guys are screaming out there. Try, try, try, try And then the second question I have is can't drain my green stay focused

[00:33:07] You know and not have all this buffoonery follow him And yeah, I use the word buffoonery and in good reason why because drain line is critical to what they do defensively and offensively and his lack of presence there It is discerning to me Is it's just absolutely Incredible

[00:33:39] Just disrespect will to the guy who got you the four year Hundred million dollar deal so Keep your head on straight my guy and play basketball Stop getting these silly technical files and flagrants and stuff like that and just be a physical presence Being intimidating

[00:34:04] And you know, market people whatever but this this outland is behavior and in punching people and kicking people and fighting with people. No man Let that go So they're great right now. It's incomplete personally I

[00:34:28] Mean the next question I have leads into all of all of what goes on with going state is What are what is Laker and this is the Kurt Laker and Mike done leave me join your going to do now because here's the thing

[00:34:48] There's a couple things that are out there I know you guys have heard about it. We talk about it on this pot like crazy level because nothing's happening yet, but Loring market in supposedly is on the market for the right price that right price is a king's ransom

[00:35:06] I think Utah really wants to tank I think people are calling their bluff on wanting to tank and Yes, Loring market it is worth a lot He's worth a lot of the picks that people are talking about Because he's 27 years old. He's 70 tall. He shoots like 42% from three

[00:35:29] He doesn't need a lot of like usage to get his points which is great And he would fit on pretty much any team Any team that has championship aspirations could use a Loring market it now Danny age is notorious for I want to win the trade

[00:35:51] I will win this trade and I will need light pretty In fact, he is a Tough guy to deal with But tough A negotiator so Real struggle to deal with Utah His right hand man's anic is also a real heavy a front office guy

[00:36:17] I think that they will be a trade. I don't know if it will be for the bounty of picks that Utah is looking for But I can see four Four first routers in some sort of iteration whether it's like three are protected or three

[00:36:33] Slightly protected and then like a pick swap and whatever the case would be so I can see something like that going on To satisfy the

[00:36:44] Danny age contingency in Utah, but that's the name that that's a big big fish that is out there for Golden State to kind of make the office more Threatening because right now it doesn't have a lot of teeth to it

[00:37:06] Then I guess you also have the wings in Brooklyn that's another thing that you can think of and if you're really looking at a wing in Brooklyn

[00:37:17] You're probably looking more at Cam Johnson as far as scoring because then it's kind of like we're going to do the second bite The second guy by committee is like we'll use Camiga one night Cam Johnson another night Maybe it's positive to you another night

[00:37:34] And we hope in prey Unless wagons would be in the steel which he probably would be You know if you can somehow hold on to wagons because you do have some other contrast that you can kind of slide in there and make it work, but

[00:37:51] if you had a For some Cam Wiggins Caminga In Pauksensky You're You got to be assured that one guy One of those guys It's going to have it going That night so Those are the things that are out there and it's really up to

[00:38:21] This is really the next iteration of the Golden State Warriors We are now away from their championship category Yes, they still have remnants of it But we are starting to go into what the next team is going to look like

[00:38:36] And it's up to Mike Dunliving and it's up to Kurt Laker to make the right decisions to put this team And a position to win because you do not want to waste What Steph Curry has left? Don't be the Lakers Do not be the Lakers

[00:38:56] Just wasting Anthony Davis prime right now That's insulting Really, oh, says me Let's move along to the Charlie Hornets Charlie Hornets, they've had a major reconstruction right So let's talk about the ownership situation We got great plopton and we have a Rick Shnaw

[00:39:17] Those are the two new owners They've taken over Michael Jordan, Michael Jordan is now a minority owner So he's still getting paid so props to Mike They also went and changed out Mitch Cubshack They got a new EVP of basketball operations His name is Jeff Peterson

[00:39:40] He's one of the youngest execs in the league He was in Brooklyn Before under Sean Marks They also got a due-tune Akewala He's from Atlanta A lot of people speak highly of him As far as scouting, as far as player development

[00:40:01] Or like looking at a player and going like I can envision him As you know a rim run in a shot locker And he can do this this and this for the team And it usually manifests itself So a lot of people really like that move

[00:40:18] For the Charlotte Hornets We talked a lot about Charles Lee and what we thought of him and how highly this podcast thought of Charles Lee But I think the thing that I think I talked about it when he first got hired The discipline and the attention

[00:40:43] The discipline and the attention to detail that Charles Lee is going to bring to the Charlotte Hornets This is so avantages for the mellow ball Because when we get into the team You're going to be like, whoa, hold on like wait What's going on over here?

[00:41:02] Because all of a sudden Charlie looked real nice But Charles Lee was in Boston he was a Assisticote he helped Mazzula lead that team to a championship He brought in just some just hey look this is this is your role this is what we're doing

[00:41:26] And however he was able to convey that message along with Joe Mazzula Got a lot of these guys to buy into their role and you saw how successful it was They also got Chris Gent Chris Gent was on the Laker Star He was on dark have hamster

[00:41:47] Chris Gent is like offensive guy Really smart really into spacing He can he can do a lot with a little And then you got Ryan Frazier he's going to be like the defensive guy along with Josh long staff

[00:42:10] Which I listen, I don't I don't make these names up This is literally their assistant coach of set and a lame-ular and a lot of people like playing as well I talked to about why people on the league and they are really high on

[00:42:26] Just his mind for the game he's able even you know if he's in the second role he's one of those guys who could Really dissect how game is going and going hey, we kind of if we switch this up real quick We can probably really catch them

[00:42:43] You know don't stuff and we can we can use this against them so I think they build a really good staff now the reason why I praise the staff and the whole the whole regal because

[00:42:57] What are the pillars the pillars are Charles Lee's emphasizing the core principles whatever those are are we going to be a defensive team Are we gonna be offensive team are we gonna share the ball are we going to isolate for lamello are we going to

[00:43:17] Give a bigger role to Brandon Miller these are all questions that Charles Lee has to answer thank God. I don't have to answer them right So what's another pillar for the Charlotte Hornets well take a deep breath and we say lamello ball

[00:43:35] And it's not because low mellow is a bad player well mellow is a great player I think he has a tremendous future ahead of him

[00:43:47] He has to stay healthy and he has to start taking his conditioning seriously and it's in a different way where when we talk about Zion We're talking well hey, maybe you don't want to indulge as much and with

[00:44:07] Lamello we're talking well hey, man. You just need to get stronger you have a six foot eight frame your ankles have been weak and You've had issues with them

[00:44:24] Whatever you got to do whether it's go over to Germany and do all the things that gone over there or get with stuff curry which you'd your color guy is his dad So you got a direct connect to Steph Curry

[00:44:43] If you have ankle issues who's the first person you should go to To talk about strengthening your ankles probably the best shooter on the face of the planet That might that might help I don't know

[00:44:59] But yeah, Lamello has to start taking it seriously. I think that he will he will learn that I think that's what he will learn to trust me Now With Charlotte there kind of system is a little bit different. We're talking about more levels of development

[00:45:17] With Charlotte when I talk about like okay, who's the second guy? What's the core? What's this whatever we're talking about development right now So Brandon Miller had a fantastic rookie season and if it wasn't for Victor Weng by Yamla

[00:45:31] He probably wanted what a one rookie of the year Uh, he He started off slow which was kind of what I thought it was gonna be because I thought man. He's frail not frail but he's smaller He's got to grow into his body

[00:45:51] I thought that Taylor Hendrix would be more successful early in the league than Brandon Miller It turns out I was absolutely wrong Brandon Miller showed his range. He showed his ability to get into his own offense He showed the ability to

[00:46:12] Place in defense and graphs and rebounds and be tough He took physicality Way more than I thought he would and by the second half of the season I was like okay, yeah, this is he's a real dude So now you have Brandon Miller

[00:46:31] He was super effective last year Mark Williams who's a third year big It is time for him to step up if he's going to be the defense of anchor for this team First of all the opportunities for him to be able to do that need to be there

[00:46:50] Um, and he will have the opportunity this year because I will tell you that I am sure With Charles Lee seeing what poor Zing is provided for the Celtics I am sure he is going to try to bring that that thought process to

[00:47:10] Um, Mark Williams on the defense of side. I'm not asking him to do all the things that poor Zingist does On the offense of side. It's just basically on the defense of side But a seven footer legit Strong guy kind of reminds me of Mitchell Robinson for real

[00:47:33] Um, I'm really high on him Now let's talk about the youth So you got Miller and then you got the Who's the second pick overall the 23 draft and then you also got the French kid Tijani Salon and Six foot eight six foot nine like 215 to 216 pounds

[00:48:05] Going to play some defense so maybe that is it maybe we did get some sort of signal from Charles Lee How he wants to play because this dude is a physical tough he can shoot the three

[00:48:21] That's about it. We don't know about the offensive game other than that But put backs plan defense getting in the pass and laying running He knows how to do that so you have all that and then here's the swing piece for me

[00:48:38] Miles bridges who signed a three year deal It's like for seventy five million dollars Now Miles bridges we talked about in previous podcast while some things have gone on with them But if you look at the team and we're just talking about basketball right

[00:48:57] The mellow ball brand and Miller Mark Williams Miles bridges The guards like mechage If they want to add a guard ties Jones is out there still You know So there's a ways for them

[00:49:16] This year I mean I look at this team and I'm just going like this team could make a real big leap I'm not saying they're going to be in the playoffs or anything like that I'm saying that the mellow has his head on straight

[00:49:29] And you get Miles bridges and you saw what Brandon Miller was able to do in his first year They could do something in the east they could challenge for one of those plan positions really easily you could see Charlotte making a huge leap

[00:49:48] In a real quick fashion all these things hit now We're asking a lot we're asking a lot for Charles Lee to come in and implement all those things so we want to give him grace We want him to just Make a work because sometimes he's the thing

[00:50:07] Some people take to coach and differently Some people will say well maybe Brandon Miller flourished under a steep clever But what do you flourish under Charles Lee? I'm not saying there will be an issue or won't be an issue

[00:50:23] All I'll say in this that you got to get to know your players they got to get to know you it takes some time Remember how Ema Adoka was his first year in Boston the first half of that year

[00:50:37] Was garbage that team with like barely over 500 I was a championship contingent team And they were barely over 500 and then they took off the second half because It took him a while to understand what Ema really wanted from them

[00:50:55] And the longer you know your coach and the longer your coach knows you and what you like and what's important to him So then you can get yourself on the court

[00:51:08] Makes all the difference in the world and when we're the Charlotte Hornets learn that lesson of what Charles Lee is all about what he demands It could click early click later But this team does have a possibility of making a real big leap

[00:51:24] I'm excited about the Charlotte Hornets ere direction And we here at FRC said it at the end of the year and we'll say it again We were wrong about Brandon Miller going number two Going to the Portland Trailblazers we thought that was a bad situation

[00:51:43] It worked out great and I honestly think that they made the right move So we're here to give flowers where flowers is due That's what we do here So the last thing that we're going to do and hit a couple news and notes

[00:51:59] And then we're going to break up out of here And remember we're going to go ahead and give you a pod off right day and expect a lot of videos Over the weekend So all the stuff that we've done over this week going to get clipped up

[00:52:15] Get put out onto YouTube and we're going to take care of you So keep a lookout Let's see if there's anything else that we really need to hit Oh yeah, we need to hit this this US Olympic team situation

[00:52:31] All right two comments are two things to come out of this Olympic situation We're going to leave on a good note happy note funny note whatever All right first and foremost Anthony Edwards is being full Anthony Edwards in Vegas

[00:52:50] During the Olympic practices and we'll have you so a couple things will come out Anthony Edwards is said like of course he's in the starting lineup because he's best player on the team That's quote from Anthony Edwards Now

[00:53:08] There was a quote about Steve Kurt saying to Anthony Edwards hey listen You know when Brian was on team and Kobe was on team, you know or no, Duane way

[00:53:27] Duane way came off the bridge because you know Kobe was on team he was like well we don't have a Kobe on this team This is with Steph Curry Kevin Durant LeBron James JOLMB all dudes of one MVP's okay

[00:53:46] Do still got Jason Tatum on his team who won an NBA championship Right and he's like not I'm hearing all that I know what I'm worth and what I'm worth is I start

[00:54:08] And I get buck is bro, so whatever you got to do work around that situation you need to figure that out So Anthony Edwards going full Anthony Edwards is the greatest thing on face of the planet I love that kids confidence. I mean

[00:54:24] What else could you possibly want from your next major American superstar basketball star so Anthony Edwards we salute you we salute your campaign to be the greatest on the Olympics and just absolutely take it over I'm sure dudes are not challenged that guy want to one yet so

[00:54:47] And then the other thing to come out the Olympics So Kalylin it Proclaim to himself healthy Says two weeks ago It just clicked everything is good

[00:55:03] He rolls in the Vegas he you know he's got the corn rolls down, you know the hair is now like snow dog out, you know he's looking real serene and calm

[00:55:17] And as soon as Kaly got there was pretty much as soon as Kalyla because Kaly has been shut down with knee-sorness And he's going to take this tie to properly heal and get himself ready for the upcoming NBA season. So that is that dude

[00:55:41] Now was this surprising? No, it's not surprising The clippers can't get him on the court. Did you think USA basketball is gonna be able to get this dude on the court Come on now Now I have a lot of optimism. I think I

[00:55:59] Think it's tap it with some realism No, but Kalyla entered playing for USA basketball when he couldn't play for his team in the playoffs would have been a bad look either way

[00:56:14] I don't know of his people the clippers. I think it's a combination of everybody in law personally, but I think it was a good move obviously not to have him on the team the optics

[00:56:31] Of him playing on the team and not being able to play for the clippers it just would look terrible so whoever Whoever Whoever made that decision

[00:56:44] God bless them because they definitely made the right decision when it cost to it. All right, so with that being said let me tell you how it breaks down here We are going to have another pie that is going to drop tomorrow and

[00:56:59] I'm going to give you what's on that one because it's good weird just reflow Friday Typhil deal on on that pot But we got some interesting things coming up There will be more teams that will be put in the franchise offseason focus

[00:57:19] I give the harness for their awesies and by the way, so you know I give them a A I really think what they've done with the awesies and with the with the coaching staff with

[00:57:30] The level player bringing back miles bridges on that contract. I think it was a mean Whatever you think of him off the court on the court He is a phenomenal player. I have my issues with him off the court

[00:57:46] But I can't sit here and tell you all in the court this do is not Phonominal way what he does and he brings a physicality in a presence to that team that they they surely lacked in his and his time off

[00:58:01] He provided that last year and I think whether healthy or mellow ball this team is going to look a lot different Then they look in the last couple years, so keep on looking out for that But I think their awesies and was a alright

[00:58:17] So we will be doing some more stuff on Friday for sure and just keep it locked here because you know where you're going to get all the hoops chat

[00:58:27] You know where you're going to get the funding you know where you're going to get the information is that front runner podcast collective So I like to think my producers bunch of fun and Sarea from being on the ones and tools today

[00:58:40] And we always like to close out with this listen best part of you is you The people that are in your life please have them bright in your light The people that are in your life that might be trying to extinguish your light

[00:58:57] You know isolated and maybe move on from them do a little good in the world And we'll see you back on this sheet on Friday Doos
