[00:00:10] This Monday you know what time it is. Front Runner Podcast Collective is back on the air. I am your humble host of Vince and today we're going to be talking about the massive extension by
[00:00:26] Lori Markkan. We're also going to talk about some of the news and notes on potentially now that market is off the market, who is available and what is out there. And then we're
[00:00:41] going to finish it up with our trip around some of the 2025 NBA Prospects and then we'll get you out of here. But before we get to all that, we're going to hit the socials first and
[00:00:56] foremost, you to Front Runner Podcast Collective, go check out the videos there. Subscribe to the channel where going to be putting up things from the last spot and this spot within
[00:01:10] the next couple of days. So stay tuned for that. The other thing is that comment on, if you agree, or disagree with some of the things that are in the videos, there's little tidbits of
[00:01:28] information basically kind of buried within all the videos as far as this concern. And those are there for you to comment on and I don't know if I've ever made that clear. What we would
[00:01:43] love to see your participation in that and we look forward to it. The second thing that we're going to talk about is Twitter, X at Front Runner PC. And then though producers are at Raya
[00:02:01] underscore FUNCH FRPC. Follow joining on the conversation if there's a team or player that we are not hitting that you want us to hit soon. We take requests. So make sure that you
[00:02:19] lock in with us on there. And then we come to the podcast as so. And with the podcast, we're looking at a situation where we're going after four months in a row of personal best. Hopefully
[00:02:33] we can go ahead and get there. Also, August is the birthday month, August 25th is the date. We would love to hit the download record by that date. But I will take any personal best
[00:02:48] for a month if we can continue this streak. So we look forward to your guys' participation in this be a friend and tell a friend about the podcast. Tell people about Front Runner podcast collective and the work that we're doing here because we're doing it for you
[00:03:07] and we're doing it Monday, Wednesday and Friday. So with all of that said, let's get to the podcast. So the first thing that we're going to talk about is the Lori marketing deal, Lori marketing in science, a historic contract for the Utah Jazz. And in this contract, it
[00:03:29] is a five year, 238 million dollar extension. Obviously, it's the richest deal in Utah Jazz's history. So we talked about it on Monday. We said it was a fluid situation. We said that
[00:03:48] at the point in time that Lori marketing was not going to sign a deal. Obviously, they were not going to go in. They could have gone into the season with him at the number that he was
[00:04:03] at. I don't think it was comfortable for him and I don't think it was comfortable for Utah itself. He is a really good connection with the owner Ryan Smith, obviously Danny age. And there must
[00:04:17] be some sort of, they must have reassured him in some way where maybe hey, give us one more year and then we can go ahead and challenge in the West. So because he did talk about that,
[00:04:33] he wants to contend at some point. And it seemed like it was more, I would like that to be sooner rather than later. So this extension happening, not a super surprise, it's hard to turn
[00:04:50] down that kind of money. And he's looking at, you know, for the $7 million on average. So I mean, that's a great deal for him. Now let's talk about Lori market end to player. He is 23.2 points game. This is like his advanced stats. Rewell Square game 8.2, partner hundred possessions,
[00:05:18] assist 2.0. His efficiency rating is a 22.4. His shooting, his true shooting percentage is 62.1% his winchers are at 9.6. He has an offensive rating of 118. He has a defensive rating of 110. So I mean, you're getting a really good player here. This is why he held up the market.
[00:05:48] It's funny what is now considerable to hold up a market. Three years ago, it was been like a Kevin Durant or James Harton. Now we're getting Lori market end. Not saying that he's not a
[00:06:11] great player because he is. He has really turned himself around. He left Chicago, much maligned there, kind of found himself a little bit in Cleveland and then went out to Utah and just exploded. So
[00:06:27] for a guy who came into the league with a lot of promise, it took a while for it to all kick in. But now it's here and he's been richly rewarded for what he has put up in Utah.
[00:06:42] Now let's talk about some of the what else and could have been and whatever because this is what you come here for right. Now go and state now there is supposedly was a package on the table.
[00:06:55] Jonathan commie the commiega Moses moody 2025 first round pick. Now I will tell you that commiega was another part of that deal. I know they threw out moody in that deal and a bunch
[00:07:12] of first round picks and for Utah, you know, they wanted a Ponzinski in this deal and that was a nonstarter for Golden State. So I don't think Golden State and Utah really ever were close on the
[00:07:28] deal. I think there were maybe some exploratory conversations. I believe that maybe a couple of names were tossed around. I think that's how we got the Ponzinski out of here and what Golden State actually
[00:07:45] offered, which if you go read Anthony Slater in the athletic who is so tapped in to Golden State, that guy will definitely tell you that was like Moses moody and picks. As more reporting has come in on this, implications of marketing, marketing's in-aligability for trade, the season
[00:08:10] and it's impact on the jazz strategy. So I mean basically this is one of those situations, he signs it to you know, he signs it today. He puts himself in a situation where you can't get traded.
[00:08:24] That's great because his wife we reported on Monday, his wife really likes it there. He really enjoyed it there. We just talked about his relationship with Ryan Smith. So this is a good thing now. What does it all mean? Because now we got Lordy marketing on the board.
[00:08:45] So does this mean that we can start moving on some of these pieces and does this mean that Utah is now a player for some of these guys that we were maybe looking at Miami or other teams looking at
[00:09:02] some of the Jeremy grants and whatever other world. So we're going to go through some of these guys and see what's shaking, right? So obviously we don't have to talk about Lordy marketing anymore.
[00:09:15] He is off the list. So then at this point let's talk about the Angela Russell. Media quote, Russell's inconsistency in the playoffs has raised questions about his long-term fit with the his trade value is complicated by his contract. This is per shansh, sharonia of the athletic.
[00:09:39] This isn't executive quote. The makers are exploring all options including moving Russell. His salary makes it tricky but there's interest around the league and this is from a front office executive.
[00:09:53] So when we talked in the prior podcast about the Lakers and their inability to get the deal done, I want you to hear that quote again. This is from an executive in the league says Lakers are
[00:10:10] are exploring all options including moving Russell. His salary makes it tricky but there is interest around the league per an NBA front office executive. So again, there are deals that we had. We talked about the Lakers whether it's
[00:10:32] appetite for it or just out now fear of making the trade because they cannot be in a situation with egg on their face again because of the Russell Westbrook thing. We talked about the pressure said it would put in put on genie bus. The governor we talked about
[00:10:52] what it would have done to Rob Belinka because essentially that will end Rob's career as the Lakers player personnel guy. I believe that there are probably five or six things that are on the table for the Lakers and they are just basically paralysis by analysis at this point.
[00:11:15] I think they are stuck in their own head. We'll see if something arises. I think if you're going to do something, you got to do it within this next little care sale of activity that's a walk-up.
[00:11:28] I believe that people have learned their mistake from Milwaukee last year and regards to trading for Damian Lillard so close to the season starting. I think they're going to want to try to get
[00:11:40] their business done by the middle of August to maybe like the 20th of August. So this gives everybody a chance to say okay, this is where I'm going to be. This is, you know, I've got to
[00:11:54] ask let me myself here who are the players, what's my role, what does the team see for me and things of that nature. So I think at the Lakers are going to do anything in this cycle,
[00:12:10] I think it's about to start. I think we're maybe a date. Maybe about two, three days away and we'll see what happens and we'll start talking about the other players as well. Now salary cap, ample cases on the Angela Russell, Russell scoring ability is undeniable
[00:12:31] what his defensive lapses are a concern. He's best suited for a team that can cover for his weaknesses, said an anonymous NBA scout. We've talked about this long and hard about the
[00:12:43] Angela Russell. The one thing he did clean up last year that I do want to give him credit for is early in the season I was absolutely lamb-baseding Russell on his Laksa-Dasical handling of the
[00:12:58] basketball and just the foolish turnovers that we're going on. Now as a year went on and he got over the benching and got through the trade deadline, which we're going to talk about that in a second.
[00:13:13] But as he got through those things, you started to see a guy who really started to lock in and concentrate and some of the turnover situation. Now here's the thing with the Angela Russell.
[00:13:28] Unfortunately, he's not on the right team to really be a starter because we talked about it before. LeBron is going to be the rover. Anybody who's going to be LeBron James given his gravitationally, given his basketball IQ which is first and foremost. Let me not disrespect the man,
[00:13:55] but his basketball IQ is second to none. So you're definitely going to give him the nod if we're talking about what he's seen. His photographic memory when it comes to plays and dissection of
[00:14:11] out of time out plays and things that that nature. Now, also Russell has a back court in me in Austin Reeves who's not also not fleeting foot as well. So when you have that combination and
[00:14:26] yes, AD cleans up a lot of mess but they don't have a killer at that three spot and not having a guy like Jared Vanderbilt and really hot to more could like morph into one player and you can have the
[00:14:41] offense of Rui and the defense of Jared Vanderbilt then you will be cooking with gas. But you just can't do that. So unless the lecher's make it trade, the Angela Russell, his defense is always going
[00:14:56] to be an albatross because he's not fleeting foot. He does sometimes kind of gamble or kind of is peaking into the backfield sort of speak and then his player, his gone back door
[00:15:13] in the wide open lamp. These are the bug aloos of the Angela Russell. These are the things that the lecher's have tried to get around what you saw towards the end of last season is they would like
[00:15:27] to hell with it. We'll just outscore people because if you get into a free flow state with the Angela Russell, Austin Reeves, LeBron James and Anthony Davis and whoever else you put on
[00:15:40] the court with them, you do have a really good offense. You have really some real players, really some art players who can free lands inside a system and be able to find open spaces and
[00:15:56] things of that nature. And then you have one of the smartest players in the game in LeBron James. So it can work but if you're talking about other teams and how they see how these are the type
[00:16:10] things that they're talking about, but these are the issues that I bring up because as a lecher fan or as somebody who follows the lecher's or however you want to put it, you know we got to give you the real. The lecher's unfortunately have one above average
[00:16:28] defender and that's Anthony Davis. And you're starting lineup. Now Anthony Davis is great but LeBron is not above average defender now. There's too many plays where he's just not going
[00:16:46] to get on top of the screen, close out things of that nature. He's about to be 40. What could you possibly expect for him now? But with that, everybody else around you needs to be a one from
[00:17:06] day one and you just don't have that. And that's the bugger wheel and this is why the lecher's are in constant kind of odds with itself. You know they see themselves as a championship,
[00:17:23] contention team but they don't have the necessary parts to fulfill that but we'll see if they're able to move the Angela Russell in this next carousel moves that we hope is a window between
[00:17:38] like now and like August 20th. Be cool if something happened on my birthday though, I would be that would be great. That tells you what kind of sickle I am right? I'm wishing for trades
[00:17:52] on my birthday. Like I don't work enough. Okay, let's get to Brandon Ingraham. Now Brandon Ingraham we've talked about and here's a mediocre Ingraham and the pelicans are reportedly far apart on extension talks. This could lead to a trade if a deal isn't reached soon and this is
[00:18:15] by Mark Stein so stark. Potatial, Trees, scenario. This is an executive quote. If Ingraham doesn't extend the pelicans who will look to move him rather than risk losing him for nothing, that was the whole thing what marketing. Okay. Now they didn't want to lose him for nothing.
[00:18:39] Trees are monitoring the situation closely. This is why an NBA general manager. Now here's the thing with Brandon we talked about it. Brandon wants Max money. The teams in the NBA don't
[00:18:56] see Brandon Ingraham as a Max guy right now. So does he say screw it and get to a team that can allow him to utilize his skills. Hopefully also maybe he can get to a team where some of the
[00:19:16] offensive burden is taking a little bit off of him and he can use some of that energy on the defense of end which three years ago. You know we were talking about this dude as a real difference
[00:19:30] to make her because of how long he was and how active he was and it has just absolutely disappeared. So I wonder if a role change and if he would accept a role change because that's the problem in
[00:19:48] New Orleans. Brandon Ingraham has had enough time with Zion out because of injury or what have you that he's been given the number one option that means he's taken the most shots and you know
[00:20:02] he's making the most decisions in the times that is relatively important for the New Orleans Pelicans. Now if you are having this situation go on time and time again he's going to feel
[00:20:19] some sort of way because he's like well I'm what you got so you need to put your trust in me and I can understand it from his point of view but if the league is telling you hey man because they
[00:20:36] want to trade them. I mean that's all the reports is they want to trade him. They cannot find the deal that works because people are saying like listen we got to deal with the headache and give him the
[00:20:51] extension so why are we giving up with ton of stuff to get them because we don't seem as the max guy he thinks he is so we're getting ahead of it we want to give you less and the pelicans are
[00:21:09] going to wait. Hud on Brandon Ingraham is a it's a friend all star you know this is a 24 point of game guy so why are we just handing him over for like a ham sandwich that does not sound correct
[00:21:27] so it's a crazy little dichotomy with what's going on with Brandon Ingraham in the pelicans I for the pelicans sake I would personally say let's try to it's a sunk cost let's try to
[00:21:45] get what we can or get what we can get what we need let's at least extract a big man out of this situation unless we move on because they want to do it I think they were encouraged by the Zion
[00:22:06] performance in late in the season it was unfortunately he got injured you know right as the plan was starting but I think they're hopeful and I think they think with the John T. Murray there and what
[00:22:22] have you it's a it's a real you know it's a real positive vibe right now and if you can get the Brandon Ingraham situation square away your golden now there is a no Jeremy Grant is an interesting
[00:22:43] little situation he has said I don't even want to treat it so he likes an important one he wants to be there and important one seems to be one of those places like once you get there as a player
[00:23:05] there's been a lot of players like Damian Lillard still goes there in off season still has a home there and he enjoys his time importantly I think importantly would be a team that was you know
[00:23:20] contending obviously Damian would have stayed but you know then it was a breaks you know so really the lakers are super into Jeremy Grant there have been rumors of what's this one
[00:23:39] right on there was talks about like Jeremy Grant going to like Dallas I don't know how that's gonna work but I think Dallas likes what they are right now but it'll be interesting to see if for
[00:23:55] some reason that if something shakes loose there but we do have some news on Cam Johnson so Cam Johnson is been the guy that I've been talking about with Brooklyn and I said hey you
[00:24:08] got to move on because you're talking about tanking and you have a couple guys on your squad that are additive to winning and you want to kind of get rid of those guys right now especially since you
[00:24:21] have recoup your drag pic so here's the media quote Johnson is a key piece of the Brooklyn rebuild this stupid I don't know who's who he did this oh which will make some valuable trade
[00:24:40] acid if the nets decide to move him and this is by Brian Winhorse and the ZEC said the nets are open to offers but they value Johnson highly it would take a strong package to cry him away
[00:24:54] this is one NBA general manager so if that's being said I don't and let's they're gonna kind of because they are in New York City and the nicks are gonna dominate the just the new cycle every
[00:25:14] single day they could just skirt under the radar and if they wanted to sit Cam Johnson at their leisure they could and Cam Johnson is not a big enough star to make a state where he's like
[00:25:27] well I don't know why I'm not playing it now I think they could talk to Cam and say hey listen this is what we're trying to do and if we get this piece add it with you hey now we got something
[00:25:40] cooking plus Ben Simmons comes off the books next year so that's 40 million off the books for a guy who's basically just kind of stolen money the last couple years let's be honest and
[00:25:57] you know maybe that's the vision that Shawn Marks their player personnel guy has so Cam Johnson I don't know but it would seem far fish to me that you would go into the season with a guy
[00:26:14] like Cam Johnson who can shoot the buff on three has really good defensive instincts on the perimeter can provide some room protection he's long he's active that seems like the type of player
[00:26:32] that you would not want on a team if you are trying to go for the worst record in the NBA just saying but now if you listen to Ryan Racillo and I kind of agree with this you can't just be
[00:26:47] awful everywhere right you know you should have some talent on the squad what what's the point of just having to just ask players everywhere I get it but this is gonna be a competitive tank
[00:27:03] you got Detroit you know out there lurking you don't know what San Antonio is going to do now that Utah looks like they're not really really tanking they're still on that kind of
[00:27:18] bubble of tank not tank you know Charlotte you know just because they're young could be tanking Washington so you have some competitors for your tank interesting that Cam Johnson is not like more hotly
[00:27:37] contested you know we let's get his name out there and what have you so maybe maybe Shawn Marks has so division to Cam Johnson we move on to Kyle Kuzuma Kyle Kuzuma uh uh
[00:27:53] other Washington Wizards he loves it there I don't know what they you know what they will be possibly they got the tank commander of Jordan Pool they don't need anything else they got
[00:28:05] rid of Danny Obdia and that was your additive guy they also needed to make room for Alex Saur their number two overall pick from this year so Kyle Kuzuma's name has been in the news
[00:28:22] see the Washington is looking for young assets and picks Kuzuma could be moved in the right deal get the right deal comes along I mean pretty much you know we can all say that
[00:28:37] if the right deal comes along yeah I mean the right deal comes along I can be bought too you know I say so it's you know it's not happening and then obviously the Laging
[00:28:51] situation we got into that gold check out the YouTube video that's up right now on Zach Levine and some of the issues that are going on in Chicago I highly recommend that but you know
[00:29:04] is Andrew concerned and how much money he makes and yeah teams are definitely not gonna tray form especially if you're asking for stuff back like real stuff if you're asking for like
[00:29:18] hey would you like to get off some salary next year then some teams can help you out but if you're talking about hey we want some real like draft assets young player assets for this guy
[00:29:34] that's gonna be a hard for us move just because right now he just doesn't have any tray value whatsoever Andrew concerns attitude concerns you know um old a lot of money and you know they don't know what they're gonna get on their return on investment with him so
[00:29:58] it's a it's a real tough situation for Chicago because they got two guys like this they got Lanzo ball and they got Zach Levine both UCLA guys so real tough for you guy here that two
[00:30:13] UCLA guys are going through it and also one right now is kind of going like I don't want to really help you out in any way so we'll see how it falls as we get closer and closer to training camp
[00:30:30] let's talk about Bruce Brown shall we Bruce Brown uh for some reason is out there and this guy would be a great pick-up for somebody now what would you give up for him you know
[00:30:48] do you like to contract is it gonna take a first round or to get them the other guy is colon sexton out there in Utah if they are going to somehow tank you got Jordan Clarkson situation
[00:31:07] and you got colon sexton so you got two guys on your team if Lori market in obviously can't move now so there's a couple guys that you can move off of if there's a deal that comes your way
[00:31:25] or if you want to be because I think they still have 11 million dollars to play with they can absorb some extra contact for like a first round pick as well so there's a lot of
[00:31:38] things that Utah still in the mix for it it will be interesting how they play the next 15 to 20 days as well so we'll be monitoring Utah heavily they seem to have a lot going on now let's get to the
[00:31:54] draft crossback shall we we have been doing and I want to thank the producers again for this they have been really helping us out getting quotes from different people i'm gonna make some calls
[00:32:09] trying to get you as much information as possible on some of these players and I do advise if you are listening to us for the first time welcome we are glad you're here but this is the third
[00:32:23] installment of the draft picks so there's a lot of names that if you don't hear today they were probably on the last two so go back and listen to those and you can get caught up where we are
[00:32:39] with that being said let's talk about ace Bailey I say ace Bailey for today because I'll want to a little runaway with him he is he's going to he's going to a record
[00:32:55] oh god I'm not a fan the only good thing about records is that they're in the big 10 which that means they're gonna play UCLA and I am hoping that UCLA just kicks the dog shit out of
[00:33:09] records but ace Bailey awesome 610 guard and four skills shot making ability score and ability reminiscing of some of the big wings like tracing with grading and Paul George brand and Miller is also
[00:33:32] come to as well his offense he's an offensive talent no doubt he has the NBA fit in shock creation and range now he is a like high lottery pick like ace Bailey is basically going through
[00:33:53] the popping substance of college because he has it and because the g league in night is defunct now and they weren't really producing guys like they should have been anyway but I'm really interested
[00:34:07] to see because a guy that we profile in the last pot was Dylan Harper who is going to be ace Bailey's teammate and the great thing about those two is that you're gonna have two great players
[00:34:20] playing off of one another listen to some of these quotes that we picked up ace Bailey's combination of size and scoring a guillotine makes him a cant miss prospect his game reminds me of a young Paul George this is from ESPN's Jonathan Gobony Bailey's offensive versatility
[00:34:44] what sets what set him apart he can create a shot of for himself he shoots from range and he can finish at the room his defensive potential is also intriguing giving his link and this is from
[00:35:00] an NBA scout okay Bailey has the potential to get franchise cornerstone he has the skill set it's perfect suited for the modern NBA and he has a maturity to his game that is rare
[00:35:16] for his age and this is from a kind NBA general manager so which again with ace Bailey if you're getting the prototype of what we see in the modern NBA you know it used to be your small
[00:35:34] floor where was six seven six eight and you were so you thought it was awesome if he was like 225 pounds and could you know pound the basketball a little bit now these guys are coming in
[00:35:48] with guard skills like legit guard skills I'm talking about like you know dribble packages that are reminiscent to you know steam nation and others and their six ten and then they're also shooting it
[00:36:06] from range now what ends up happening is they don't get a post game to live like 24 when their body matures or whatever but ace Bailey is going to be a is gonna be a freak athlete
[00:36:23] in college basketball it is great that he's playing UCLA because I want to see it I need to see it I want to see all of his games we're gonna have fun breaking him down all year he's going to do
[00:36:39] some tremendous freaky freaky things and he's going to school with dinner hardware and they have a really good like special connection and I can't wait to see how they play off one another honestly so
[00:36:55] it's going to be a good year but a lot of people in the NBA are looking at this guy and honestly if Cooper flag wasn't in this draft at this ace Bailey might be the number two over all
[00:37:09] pick it might be the number one over all pick so look forward to that battle throughout the year the Cooper flag ace Bailey deal because there's a lot of teams that are saying like not that they
[00:37:23] are down on Cooper flag they're saying like it all depends on what you need you know and all depends on what you need so a lot of people are really excited about this draft they think they have
[00:37:36] options at the top and it's because of guys like ace Bailey like we're going to move on to freshman guard coming in a Drake pal he will be attending the University of North Carolina at
[00:37:55] Chapel Hill now Drake pal is 65 he's a versatile player with playmaking ability defense of skills and an improved catch and shoot game his strengths his ability to impact games in different ways he's a well rounded player so they're saying like he's not a 7 defense he's additive he revives
[00:38:23] the basketball he gets deflections he's not a black hole when he has a ball he finds teammates he has a real good feel for the game this is a quintessential North Carolina player too like
[00:38:39] they just grow these kids and they come into the system and when we talk about guys who come into college and we talked about like their fundamentals it's funny how certain schools
[00:39:01] gravitate towards those things are just kind of like synonymous with those things like if you look at Kansas you look at North Carolina now Yukon is like a new newer player to this field as far as that's
[00:39:16] concerned but several teams back in the day you see a lake trying to build that now you know there's Gonzaga another team that does it very very well it's those type of teams oh
[00:39:31] baler I don't want to you know what Scott Drew I love you do you do y'all thing down here but it's certain schools that get these type of players and North Carolina is one of them so I'm really
[00:39:47] excited to see how Drake Powell goes off this year let's get it into a couple more things that we dug up on our guy Drake Powell. Piles performance in the Jason Tatum elite camp showcased his
[00:40:05] first utility and his readiness to make immediate impact at North Carolina he's a well rounded player who can do can do a bit of everything says the athletic San Luisini Piles defensive instincts
[00:40:22] and playmaking ability are what really stand out he's not just a score he impacts the game in multiple levels and this is a NBA scout Drake Powell has a high basketball IQ and has the ability
[00:40:42] to play multiple positions his versatility will be a huge asset at the next level and this is from front office executive currently in the league so what are you getting with Powell here's another guy
[00:41:00] who I think we talked about it when we started to do this the 2025 draft has variety it has size it has guards you know that can play up it has you know your your quintessential scores
[00:41:21] it has your skill biggs it has your wing depth it has a lot in it is very robust but of a variety that we just did not see in 2024 but the main thing that we're seeing is that we're seeing a more
[00:41:47] well rounded offensive package and a couple nuances on the defensive side on your top top top guys right you're you're not getting like oh he can only shoot three and he's good in a team defensive
[00:42:07] setting now these guys are like oh no he thinks critically in defensive situations and offensive situations he's able to time crash downs on biggs to double team he gets out to the open shooters
[00:42:30] as far as that's concerned to get a hand up he's also on the offensive and he's not just standing in the corner just chilling you know he's moving around he's sitting pigs he's looking for angles
[00:42:42] to get to the basket and get free and then he could shoot it so there's a lot to like in the NBA aluminum on the NBA executives and and decision makers also like them now let's get to
[00:43:02] one of the most interesting guys in the draft rocko zikarski now rocko zikarski is gonna be playing down in austria he's seven two he's a big boy big boy all right he has exceptional room protection and mobility string interior defense finishing around the basket
[00:43:30] and has potential for growth here's some of the quotes on them now I'm gonna tell you I haven't done a lot of research on him so this is me grabbing things for you on him a tell you we'll do
[00:43:43] more of a deep dive later and I hope that you know we definitely get to that but zikarski is a defensive force with an incredible shot blocking ability his mobility at seven two is impressive
[00:44:02] he's only going to get better this is a sports illustrator Jeremy Wu who's at this rocko's room protection and re-wounding our elite for his age he needs to develop more offensively but his defense potential is off the charts and this is an NBA scout last quote
[00:44:26] zikarski has a tools to be a game changer on defense if he can add some offensive polish he'll be a high impact player in the league and this is why in NBA GM he's gonna have a lot to prove on the offensive
[00:44:44] side of the wall go here's a deal if he can forceably set picks and roll to the rim because he can he has the athletic ability to do that but if he rolls to the rim with force
[00:45:04] every single time when he's playing down in Australia this dude is going to be a lot of repit because we are starting to see that size does matter again in the NBA you can't get away
[00:45:20] with just saying oh we're going to like a six foot nine center and we're just gonna run around people and whatever no uh we got too many teams out here trying to get double gigs so
[00:45:34] zircoski rockels are kioski is going to give a chance in the NBA but my thing that I'm going to be looking for all year with him is i want to see the defensive awareness that a lot of people are
[00:45:46] talking about because i really have not seen a ton of tape on him yet can't wait to crack open the crates and look at this dude but the thing that I'm 100% going to be looking for on the offensive
[00:46:02] band are you setting these picks or are you like a big dude where it's like I don't want to set it really are you going to be exact 80 Steven Adams setting picks or are you going to be
[00:46:19] yonness setting picks? no shade yonness but you know you don't say it hard-ass picks you know you don't all right so that's our little situation when rockels the car skied the next guy that we're going
[00:46:35] to talk about yeah i love this he's a three-day guy Colin Murray Boyle's he's a powerful he's a sophomore he's going to be playing at South Carolina this is the thing that we love right 240 pound frame excellent hands interior scoring instincts for this guy scoring around the
[00:47:01] key defensive mobility and passing IQ are all strengths that our guy CMB possesses here's some quotes boring boils inside scoring and re-mounting make him stand out he's a throwback to the traditional big man with a modern twist and this is from CBS's sports gear
[00:47:29] he parish Colin has a knack for being at the right place at the right time his instincts around the basket are superb and he has the physical he has a physicality to compete at the next level
[00:47:44] and this is from an actual NBA scout the last one is from a exec CMB's production is undeniable he might not be the flashiest player but he gets the job done effectively and this is from a
[00:48:02] front office person in league so here's the thing we give you a lot of variety here right this is not the guy that as as somebody who's really dug into scouting in last five years and
[00:48:19] ask out to what are we looking for like what are the things that we're looking for usually we're looking for the wings or we're looking for the anomaly big that can handle or
[00:48:31] constressed the floor and then still provide the ring protection and ring pressure in the sense of being able to attack the ring on closeouts everyone's gonna while you get a guy like this and then
[00:48:46] everyone's in a while this guy we will look up and he's been in the league for like eight to 10 years and he's made a real good living at just being good at basket ball you know he's
[00:49:02] here's the thing with CMB he's going to be a guy who's going to be a lunch pill guy he's going to get off into rebound get put back he's gonna use his physicality
[00:49:15] he also has a really nice little nail game and what I'm talking about is that that yokeage area where he'll get on the nail and now people are moving around him he is a really good
[00:49:29] feel for the game his passes are crisp I love his little mini bounce passes to like cutting guards who are going towards the basket when he's at the nail so he's an enjoyable watch
[00:49:43] he's not your typical like oh he's gonna flash this huge upside and you think to yourself like he's going to give you you know this crazy production no he's going to be steady
[00:49:57] Eddie type of dude he's going to be a rotational big top eight type of guy but not anything where he's gonna be off star 10 so this is gonna be somebody who probably goes in the top 20 top 25
[00:50:13] but he's gonna be one of those guys that a good team will pick he'll fit right in fall right into a slot and they'll be like oh this is now our seven man now we don't have to worry
[00:50:28] about spending eight to ten million dollars on a seven man because we got one we just picked him up and that's who he's gonna be the last guy then I want to bring up is Donovan Freeman he's a power forward out of uh he's going to the Syracuse
[00:50:55] six foot nine with versatile scoring abilities and experience on the Bahamas National teams his strings are he has a face he is a face up game three-point shooting ability and offensive versatility so that music can handle the ball a little bit pass the ball a little bit
[00:51:16] but he's not gonna be your primary guy but you're not gonna be scared if he has the ball in his hands he's gonna know where to go with the ball and who to get it to but his his deal is
[00:51:30] he's a lanky six foot nine do who can face you up allah brand the ingrown style and kind of just devil statue you the midi and he can shoot the three so and then because you're scared of the three-point shooting then he can get by you
[00:51:53] and then use his frame and his ability to around the basket to score so let's talk about some of the quotes that we got for uh Donovan Freeman shall we? Fremids performance in the Olympic
[00:52:08] qualifiers was eye-opening he was a versatile forward who could score in multiple ways defend several positions and this is from bleacher reports Jonathan Wasserman now we you know that we've talked about Jonathan's work here we respect Jonathan we love a lot of his insight
[00:52:31] so when he's talking about he can score in a on multiple levels you know how key that is in the NBA now obviously will he will he be elevated to the point to be able to do that on the level
[00:52:51] that you need to give you the volume you have to have to be able to be able to be a three-level score usually you have to be a top two option you have to be a number one or a number two option
[00:53:04] or you're just that crazy six-man off the bench like Malik Monk or like old school uh Lube Williams right Joe Johnson used to get this too so I so Joe if you don't know about I so Joe
[00:53:20] look up looking look on on YouTube but um here's what a scout said Donovan skill said is very killing he can hit three attack close-outs and defend insight in out his versatility
[00:53:38] is his biggest string and this is an NBA scout uh Freeman has all the tools to be a productive NBA player his ability to contribute on both ends of the court uh make him a
[00:53:53] not just a worthwhile prospect but one of a prospect that you put higher than normal because of multitude of skills this is what one NBA exec said about uh Freeman so he is held in high
[00:54:09] regard we'll see how it all plays out at Syracuse he's gonna be playing in the ACC he's going to play kugher flag he's going to face North Carolina he's going to see wait forest he's
[00:54:25] going to see Florida State he's gonna see some teams so if all of these things are true and if all of these things are coming to fruition or our guide down on my Freeman in Syracuse here's a thing
[00:54:41] somebody told me this and I you know I don't do the comparisons until I really wrap my you know wrap my head around them but they said the name to me and it sparked my interest
[00:54:55] because I loved them coming out and this is a deep cut, deep cut but they were like this is this could be Billy on towards the jump shot and if you don't know who Billy ons is go look
[00:55:11] you must really ons was bad boy the only thing is he just got to the league and it just it just fell apart but super talented at Syracuse Billy ons was really really good and a lot of the guy told me
[00:55:27] that he mighted him of Billy ons would jump shot so I was like okay cool I liked that so you have now gotten what we think we got through like 15 16 Pros quick so far we're going to continue to do
[00:55:43] this right we're going to continue to introduce you to more and more dudes I thought we were going to do like two or three but we love it so much that we want to give it to you more so I hope
