[00:00:19] It's Friday, you know what time it is. Front Runner Podcast Collective is back on the air. I am your humble host, Vince, and today's podcast, we will be talking about, we're going to break down some prospects that you might know, but you need to know better, and we have real deep breakdown on some of these prospects.

[00:00:42] We also need to get into the baseline buzz, and also there has been some breaking news that we need to get to. So, we are going to quickly run through the socials. We're going to quickly say hello to our lovely audience.

[00:01:00] Thank you for showing up and being a part of Front Runner Podcast Collective, and making us your destination for NBA hoops discussion the way you need it.

[00:01:13] The other thing is this, is that if you are new to the podcast, welcome. The other with that, tell a friend about the podcast, and you will be being a friend to the podcast by doing so.

[00:01:31] So, let's break out those socials.

[00:02:00] So, Rhea, and she is at frpc-raya.bsky.social

[00:02:08] When we start talking about these topics today, you know where to come.

[00:02:13] Because we want to hear from you. We want to hear what you have to say about maybe the things that we talked about.

[00:02:19] Do you agree with some of the things that we're about to say? Do you not agree?

[00:02:24] That's also good as well. Just hit us up on the socials so we can go ahead and create discussion and go from there.

[00:02:33] The other thing is this, YouTube, there have been some updates.

[00:02:39] Go to the community page. Vote on the poll.

[00:02:42] Very big on that.

[00:02:44] We need to get more feedback so we know that we're going in the right direction as well.

[00:02:51] And without further ado, let's go ahead and get into this podcast.

[00:02:57] The first thing up is the breaking news.

[00:03:01] The Miami Heat have just put out a statement and the statement I will read.

[00:03:06] We have suspended Jimmy Butler for seven games for multiple instances of conduct detrimental to the team over the course of the season and particularly over the last several weeks.

[00:03:20] Through his actions and statements, he has shown he no longer wants to be part of this team.

[00:03:27] Jimmy Butler and his representatives have indicated that they wish to be traded.

[00:03:32] So, therefore, we will listen to office.

[00:03:36] Bobby Marks chimes in with the suspension.

[00:03:39] The Jimmy Butler suspension will cost $346,543 each game.

[00:03:50] So, my man is going to lose out on $2.35 million.

[00:03:55] And yeah.

[00:03:56] So, let's get into this because here's the thing.

[00:04:02] Jimmy's getting traded.

[00:04:04] Now, you can say Jimmy won.

[00:04:07] We don't know yet.

[00:04:10] Pat Riley's in charge.

[00:04:12] Let's go back, shall we?

[00:04:14] Because the one thing that I love to do is I'm a history buff.

[00:04:20] And no, I'm not going to take you like some far 1980s player or anything like that.

[00:04:27] No, we're just going back to the summer.

[00:04:29] And the reason why we're going back there is because this all started.

[00:04:35] Jimmy made some comments about the Boston Celtics and about the Knicks about, you know, how their team was or whatever the case may be.

[00:04:42] At that point in time, Pat Riley came out and said, people who aren't playing maybe shouldn't be speaking on things that they're not involved with.

[00:04:53] And we just need Jimmy not to not to talk.

[00:04:59] Now, there was a statement right around free agency period.

[00:05:05] Pat Riley steps up to the mic again and says, if Jimmy wants his extension, Jimmy is going to have to go ahead and play in more games.

[00:05:14] We need Jimmy available to us.

[00:05:18] Because at that point, Jimmy knew he wasn't going to get an extension in Miami.

[00:05:29] Now, we don't know at that point, was there some sort of nod to Jimmy and say, hey, we're going to try to trade you.

[00:05:38] We have heard that the market for Jimmy has been slower to process.

[00:05:45] With all that being said, there was a whether it was something by Shams that he put out, whether he got it from the agent or not.

[00:05:55] There's some reports there.

[00:05:58] We don't know who let what out the bag or whatever.

[00:06:01] But at the end of the day, came out a couple of weeks ago that Jimmy getting anxious about his trade and being able to go play for another team.

[00:06:12] Pat Riley comes out, really never speaks during the regular season at all, unless it's something really big.

[00:06:19] He comes out and says, I can see this could be a distraction.

[00:06:24] We're not trading Jimmy Butler and we need to just focus on what's going on the court.

[00:06:32] This leads to the press conference last night.

[00:06:37] Where?

[00:06:38] It says that Jimmy says, it says there was a reporter that asked him a question.

[00:06:42] What do you want to see happen?

[00:06:44] Jimmy says this.

[00:06:45] I want to see me get my joy back for playing basketball, wherever that may be.

[00:06:52] This is what Jimmy is saying.

[00:06:54] Then he goes on to say, he says, I'm happy here off the court, but I want to be back somewhere to somewhat dominant.

[00:07:03] I will just want to hoop.

[00:07:05] I want to help this team win, but right now I'm not enjoying it.

[00:07:11] So Jimmy sent that little side ball last night.

[00:07:18] Pat Riley's response was suspension.

[00:07:22] Now.

[00:07:24] Now.

[00:07:24] Is Jimmy going to get traded probably within the next seven days?

[00:07:28] Yes.

[00:07:29] Am I going to drink a shit ton of coffee?

[00:07:33] To wait for this trade?

[00:07:35] Yes.

[00:07:35] But here's the one thing I will say.

[00:07:41] Jimmy.

[00:07:42] You are messing with old school Pat Riley here.

[00:07:46] Now, with that being said.

[00:07:49] You could end up in Brooklyn, my man.

[00:07:54] Now, that might be like a short stop to somewhere else.

[00:07:58] But I'm just saying.

[00:08:00] It wouldn't be beyond Pat Riley to make a point out of Jimmy Butler.

[00:08:07] Remember.

[00:08:08] Pat Riley was taking shots at LeBron when he was going out of town.

[00:08:12] Now, talking about things when things get hard.

[00:08:16] That's when you show your compete level.

[00:08:18] Things aren't always going to be easy.

[00:08:21] This is when we learn who the warriors are and things of that nature.

[00:08:26] Pat likes to talk in a lot of battle scenarios and things of that nature.

[00:08:32] Jimmy might have had his night trap Pat Riley's queen right now on the chessboard.

[00:08:42] But make no mistake about it.

[00:08:44] Pat Riley has been around this game for a very long time.

[00:08:48] He's had success at every level.

[00:08:52] And the one thing that I do know Pat Riley is that he is stubborn as the day is long.

[00:09:00] Now, yes, there are teams out there like the Golden State Warriors.

[00:09:04] There are teams out there like the Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks

[00:09:09] who would love to get their hands on Jimmy Butler.

[00:09:13] I wonder how open Pat Riley is going to be to that whole situation.

[00:09:21] But we are here.

[00:09:23] Jimmy Butler is the disgruntled superstar that has now

[00:09:30] basically assed out.

[00:09:33] So, that's the breaking news.

[00:09:35] Out of Miami, Jimmy Butler suspended for seven days.

[00:09:38] It looks like the beginning of the end has started.

[00:09:43] Start the clock.

[00:09:44] It would not shock me.

[00:09:46] We have what?

[00:09:47] Today is Friday.

[00:09:50] Do we get through the weekend

[00:09:52] with Jimmy Butler

[00:09:54] being on the Miami Heat?

[00:09:58] Is there an emergency pod in my future

[00:10:01] on Saturday or Sunday?

[00:10:04] These are all the questions that we ask the NBA Cosmos all the time.

[00:10:09] At this point, we really love coffee.

[00:10:12] We really love our wife

[00:10:15] who provides the sweet

[00:10:18] nectar of the gods for us.

[00:10:20] And we are just going to hunker in

[00:10:23] for Jimmy Butler

[00:10:25] Watch

[00:10:26] 2025.

[00:10:29] So, there we are.

[00:10:31] Now, we can get on to the rest of the podcast

[00:10:33] at this point.

[00:10:34] We have a really

[00:10:36] big podcast for you.

[00:10:38] We have to start off

[00:10:39] on a song or note.

[00:10:41] And I hate to do it

[00:10:42] because

[00:10:43] this guy was playing so well.

[00:10:45] And

[00:10:46] you probably saw it

[00:10:47] a couple nights ago.

[00:10:48] I wanted to talk about it

[00:10:50] because

[00:10:50] I wanted to talk about

[00:10:53] him as a player.

[00:10:54] I wanted to talk about

[00:10:55] his development

[00:10:56] and what we've seen.

[00:10:58] And I want to just

[00:10:59] go through it all.

[00:11:01] So,

[00:11:01] where we're going to start

[00:11:02] is in Detroit.

[00:11:04] Jay Nivey

[00:11:05] for the Pistons,

[00:11:06] the dynamic young guard

[00:11:08] recently

[00:11:09] underwent surgery

[00:11:10] to repair

[00:11:11] a broken

[00:11:12] fibula.

[00:11:13] He's expected

[00:11:14] to be

[00:11:14] re-evaluated

[00:11:15] in four weeks.

[00:11:16] This injury

[00:11:18] is a huge blow

[00:11:19] to the Detroit Pistons

[00:11:20] who were in the midst

[00:11:22] of a breakout season.

[00:11:23] Remember,

[00:11:24] they were 15

[00:11:25] and 18

[00:11:26] at the time.

[00:11:27] Let's talk numbers

[00:11:28] on Ivey.

[00:11:30] He was the

[00:11:31] number five

[00:11:32] overall pick

[00:11:33] in the

[00:11:33] 2022

[00:11:34] NBA draft.

[00:11:36] Now,

[00:11:37] the one thing

[00:11:37] I do want to talk about

[00:11:39] with this

[00:11:40] is I want to take

[00:11:40] a little sidebar.

[00:11:42] Let's remember

[00:11:43] back to that draft

[00:11:44] a bit.

[00:11:45] At the time,

[00:11:47] who had the

[00:11:48] number four pick?

[00:11:49] That was the

[00:11:49] Sacramento Kings.

[00:11:50] I want you to keep

[00:11:51] that in mind.

[00:11:52] They took

[00:11:53] Keegan Murray.

[00:11:56] This is going

[00:11:57] to be something

[00:11:58] that I'm going

[00:11:59] to bring up

[00:12:00] later in

[00:12:01] baseline buzz.

[00:12:03] So,

[00:12:04] just keep that

[00:12:05] in your back pocket.

[00:12:06] Now,

[00:12:06] back to Ivey.

[00:12:08] He's averaging

[00:12:09] 18.2 points

[00:12:11] a game

[00:12:11] with 5.1 assists

[00:12:14] and 3.9 rebounds

[00:12:15] this season.

[00:12:16] He's also

[00:12:17] shooting a

[00:12:18] career best

[00:12:19] 39.2%

[00:12:21] from three-point

[00:12:22] range

[00:12:22] and the Pistons

[00:12:23] have already

[00:12:24] surpassed last

[00:12:25] year's win total.

[00:12:27] And Ivey

[00:12:27] has been one of

[00:12:29] the key reasons

[00:12:30] why.

[00:12:30] Yes,

[00:12:31] the transformation

[00:12:31] in Ivey

[00:12:32] this year

[00:12:34] is

[00:12:36] night and

[00:12:37] day.

[00:12:37] Now,

[00:12:38] obviously,

[00:12:39] he went

[00:12:40] through just

[00:12:40] a tumultuous

[00:12:41] year last

[00:12:42] year with

[00:12:43] the whole

[00:12:43] Monty Williams

[00:12:44] situation.

[00:12:46] Monty didn't

[00:12:47] even know if

[00:12:48] he wanted to

[00:12:48] coach the team,

[00:12:49] that whole

[00:12:50] debacle.

[00:12:51] But,

[00:12:51] here's the

[00:12:52] thing.

[00:12:53] We are seeing

[00:12:54] the things

[00:12:55] that we were

[00:12:55] seeing when

[00:12:56] we first

[00:12:58] scouted

[00:12:59] J.

[00:12:59] Knight.

[00:13:00] The explosive

[00:13:01] first step,

[00:13:02] getting downhill

[00:13:03] and being able

[00:13:04] to score the

[00:13:05] basketball at

[00:13:06] the hoop in

[00:13:07] a variety of

[00:13:08] ways.

[00:13:09] The improved

[00:13:10] three-point

[00:13:11] shooting,

[00:13:11] this is

[00:13:11] something that

[00:13:12] we didn't

[00:13:12] know if it

[00:13:13] was going to

[00:13:13] come about.

[00:13:14] This was the

[00:13:15] thing that was

[00:13:16] going to take

[00:13:16] him to the

[00:13:17] next level

[00:13:18] when we did

[00:13:19] our scouting

[00:13:19] process on

[00:13:20] J.

[00:13:21] Knight V

[00:13:21] at that

[00:13:22] time.

[00:13:23] The reason

[00:13:24] why I bring

[00:13:24] up his

[00:13:25] scouting

[00:13:25] situation is

[00:13:26] because we

[00:13:28] have a big

[00:13:30] segment on

[00:13:31] some guys you're

[00:13:32] going to want

[00:13:32] to need to

[00:13:33] know about

[00:13:34] as we get

[00:13:35] closer and

[00:13:35] closer.

[00:13:36] to the

[00:13:37] NBA draft

[00:13:37] and that's

[00:13:38] going to

[00:13:38] come up

[00:13:38] later.

[00:13:39] Now,

[00:13:42] the three-point

[00:13:43] shooting we

[00:13:43] just talked

[00:13:44] about is at

[00:13:44] a career best

[00:13:45] 39.2%.

[00:13:47] This makes

[00:13:48] him an actual

[00:13:49] spacer.

[00:13:50] This also

[00:13:50] makes him

[00:13:51] somebody that

[00:13:52] the defense

[00:13:52] must touch.

[00:13:55] Can't just

[00:13:55] leave him

[00:13:56] open because

[00:13:57] he has the

[00:13:58] ability to

[00:13:59] punish you

[00:14:00] with a three-point

[00:14:01] shot.

[00:14:02] His ability

[00:14:03] to get into

[00:14:04] the paint

[00:14:04] because now

[00:14:05] he has extended

[00:14:06] the range out

[00:14:07] to three-point

[00:14:08] land just

[00:14:10] makes him

[00:14:11] more dangerous

[00:14:11] which makes

[00:14:13] this all

[00:14:14] the more

[00:14:15] terrible that

[00:14:17] he has

[00:14:17] suffered this

[00:14:18] injury.

[00:14:19] It was a

[00:14:19] freak accident.

[00:14:21] Cole Anthony

[00:14:22] ran up on

[00:14:23] the back of

[00:14:23] him and

[00:14:25] awkward fall

[00:14:26] and we

[00:14:27] just want a

[00:14:29] speedy recovery

[00:14:30] to Jay

[00:14:30] Nivey and

[00:14:32] damn,

[00:14:32] the Pistons

[00:14:33] were doing

[00:14:33] work at that

[00:14:35] point in time.

[00:14:35] Now we

[00:14:36] still got

[00:14:36] some other

[00:14:37] stuff that

[00:14:37] we want

[00:14:37] to talk

[00:14:38] about with

[00:14:39] them.

[00:14:40] And Jay

[00:14:40] Nivey.

[00:14:41] Now beyond

[00:14:42] the stats,

[00:14:42] this injury

[00:14:43] has deeply

[00:14:44] impacted the

[00:14:45] team.

[00:14:45] Asura Thompson

[00:14:46] was seen

[00:14:48] being in

[00:14:48] tears on

[00:14:49] the bench

[00:14:50] and Cade

[00:14:50] Cunningham

[00:14:51] post-game

[00:14:52] comments

[00:14:52] highlighted

[00:14:53] Ivey's

[00:14:53] resilience.

[00:14:55] He said

[00:14:55] he's built

[00:14:56] for this.

[00:14:57] Cade

[00:14:57] said he'll

[00:14:58] come back

[00:14:59] better than

[00:14:59] ever.

[00:15:00] The question

[00:15:01] is now

[00:15:01] who does

[00:15:03] or how

[00:15:04] does

[00:15:05] Detroit

[00:15:06] adjust

[00:15:06] at this

[00:15:07] point in

[00:15:07] time?

[00:15:08] Well they

[00:15:08] have a

[00:15:08] couple

[00:15:09] options.

[00:15:10] One is

[00:15:10] rookie

[00:15:11] Ron Holland.

[00:15:12] The other

[00:15:13] is second

[00:15:13] year guard

[00:15:14] Marcus Sasser

[00:15:15] are likely

[00:15:17] to step

[00:15:17] into larger

[00:15:18] roles but

[00:15:19] losing Ivey

[00:15:20] shooting

[00:15:20] efficiency

[00:15:21] and the

[00:15:21] ability

[00:15:22] to stretch

[00:15:22] the floor

[00:15:23] will be

[00:15:24] challenging.

[00:15:25] And let's

[00:15:26] not forget

[00:15:26] Detroit's

[00:15:27] 16th ranked

[00:15:28] three point

[00:15:28] percentage

[00:15:29] this season

[00:15:30] relied heavily

[00:15:31] on Ivey's

[00:15:32] career best

[00:15:34] mark going

[00:15:35] well down

[00:15:36] going forward

[00:15:37] you don't

[00:15:38] have that.

[00:15:38] So we're

[00:15:39] going to

[00:15:39] need guys

[00:15:39] to step

[00:15:40] up.

[00:15:41] Now Holland

[00:15:42] he does

[00:15:43] not shoot

[00:15:44] the ball

[00:15:44] very well

[00:15:45] from three.

[00:15:46] Now Sasser

[00:15:47] does.

[00:15:47] Now at least

[00:15:49] he did in

[00:15:49] college.

[00:15:50] Now we'll

[00:15:50] see if this

[00:15:51] is something

[00:15:52] that he's

[00:15:52] brought to

[00:15:53] the pros.

[00:15:54] Obviously

[00:15:54] the line

[00:15:55] a little bit

[00:15:55] longer.

[00:15:56] He did

[00:15:57] show

[00:15:58] glimpses

[00:15:59] of it

[00:15:59] last year

[00:16:00] when he

[00:16:00] did get

[00:16:01] a chance

[00:16:01] to play.

[00:16:02] Remember

[00:16:03] that was

[00:16:04] a whole

[00:16:04] abomination

[00:16:05] year.

[00:16:06] We had

[00:16:07] for pretty

[00:16:08] much half

[00:16:08] of a

[00:16:08] year

[00:16:09] we had

[00:16:10] Killian

[00:16:10] Hayes.

[00:16:11] Killian

[00:16:12] Hayes

[00:16:12] was starting

[00:16:13] games for

[00:16:13] the Detroit

[00:16:14] Pistons

[00:16:14] last year.

[00:16:15] Now I

[00:16:16] know Detroit

[00:16:17] Pistons fans

[00:16:18] don't want

[00:16:19] to hear this.

[00:16:20] I know you

[00:16:21] don't because

[00:16:22] it's just

[00:16:23] PTSD for you

[00:16:25] but for

[00:16:26] the outsiders

[00:16:27] who maybe

[00:16:28] weren't watching

[00:16:29] you as much

[00:16:30] last year.

[00:16:32] Again

[00:16:34] now we

[00:16:35] pick on

[00:16:36] KLC

[00:16:38] about

[00:16:38] Killian Hayes

[00:16:39] but Killian

[00:16:40] Hayes is no

[00:16:41] longer the lead.

[00:16:44] So that just

[00:16:45] tells you

[00:16:45] just the

[00:16:47] dysfunction

[00:16:48] that was

[00:16:49] going on in

[00:16:49] Detroit last

[00:16:50] year.

[00:16:50] and here's

[00:16:52] a guy who

[00:16:53] has

[00:16:54] comparisons

[00:16:55] to

[00:16:56] when he

[00:16:57] was coming

[00:16:58] into the

[00:16:58] league he

[00:16:58] had

[00:16:59] comparisons

[00:16:59] to

[00:17:00] Russell

[00:17:00] Westbrook

[00:17:02] and now

[00:17:03] I think

[00:17:04] he's like

[00:17:05] a De'Aaron

[00:17:06] Fox

[00:17:07] mixed in

[00:17:08] with a

[00:17:08] little Drew

[00:17:09] Holiday

[00:17:09] personally.

[00:17:11] So

[00:17:12] it's a

[00:17:13] huge loss

[00:17:14] those guys

[00:17:15] Ron Holland

[00:17:16] and Marcus

[00:17:17] Sasser are

[00:17:18] going to

[00:17:18] have to

[00:17:18] carry a

[00:17:18] bigger

[00:17:19] load.

[00:17:20] Cade

[00:17:21] has been

[00:17:21] such an

[00:17:22] amazing

[00:17:22] season.

[00:17:23] He's

[00:17:24] definitely

[00:17:25] on

[00:17:25] an

[00:17:25] all-star

[00:17:26] pace

[00:17:27] personally.

[00:17:29] All the

[00:17:30] things that we

[00:17:30] wanted to see

[00:17:31] last year out

[00:17:32] of Cade

[00:17:32] and Jaden

[00:17:33] came to

[00:17:35] fruition this

[00:17:36] year and it's

[00:17:37] just so

[00:17:37] unfortunate

[00:17:38] that Jaden

[00:17:39] Ivey

[00:17:39] is going to

[00:17:40] lose this

[00:17:40] time.

[00:17:41] So

[00:17:42] with that

[00:17:42] being said

[00:17:43] our hearts

[00:17:44] go out to

[00:17:45] Jaden Ivey

[00:17:46] and his

[00:17:46] family get

[00:17:48] well soon.

[00:17:48] My guy

[00:17:49] you were

[00:17:49] having an

[00:17:50] incredible

[00:17:50] season but

[00:17:52] come back

[00:17:53] completely

[00:17:54] don't rush

[00:17:55] you know

[00:17:57] hey

[00:17:58] guys suck

[00:17:59] last year

[00:17:59] if for some

[00:18:00] reason this

[00:18:02] injury allows

[00:18:03] you to

[00:18:04] kind of

[00:18:04] tank out

[00:18:05] again

[00:18:07] it's not

[00:18:07] the worst

[00:18:08] thing in

[00:18:08] the world

[00:18:08] more young

[00:18:09] talent to

[00:18:11] be able to

[00:18:11] do things

[00:18:12] with and

[00:18:13] be able to

[00:18:13] maneuver to

[00:18:15] get you to

[00:18:15] the next

[00:18:16] iteration of

[00:18:17] great Detroit

[00:18:18] Pistons

[00:18:19] basketball.

[00:18:22] Now the

[00:18:23] other thing

[00:18:24] that we

[00:18:25] need to

[00:18:27] talk about

[00:18:27] is we

[00:18:28] just talked

[00:18:29] about

[00:18:29] Jaden Ivey

[00:18:31] when he

[00:18:33] was

[00:18:35] Sacramento

[00:18:36] had picked

[00:18:36] Keegan

[00:18:37] Murray out

[00:18:38] of Iowa

[00:18:39] and at

[00:18:41] the time

[00:18:41] a lot of

[00:18:42] people

[00:18:42] scratched their

[00:18:43] heads

[00:18:43] because

[00:18:44] Jaden Ivey

[00:18:44] was a

[00:18:46] superior

[00:18:47] prospect

[00:18:48] and we

[00:18:49] were all

[00:18:49] going

[00:18:50] well the

[00:18:50] Kings

[00:18:50] have done

[00:18:51] it again

[00:18:53] then the

[00:18:54] King

[00:18:54] with

[00:18:54] Monty

[00:18:55] McNair

[00:18:55] had turned

[00:18:56] it around

[00:18:56] a little

[00:18:56] they

[00:18:57] treated

[00:18:57] Tyrese

[00:18:58] Halliburton

[00:18:59] they

[00:19:00] inserted

[00:19:00] Demantis

[00:19:01] Sabonis

[00:19:02] onto the

[00:19:02] team

[00:19:03] created a

[00:19:04] little more

[00:19:05] physicality

[00:19:06] the one

[00:19:07] thing that

[00:19:07] you know

[00:19:07] about

[00:19:08] Demantis

[00:19:08] Sabonis

[00:19:09] is that

[00:19:09] he

[00:19:10] absolutely

[00:19:11] cares

[00:19:11] about

[00:19:12] playing

[00:19:13] basketball

[00:19:14] and playing

[00:19:15] basketball

[00:19:15] as hard

[00:19:16] as he

[00:19:17] possibly

[00:19:17] can

[00:19:17] so

[00:19:19] it was

[00:19:20] the perfect

[00:19:20] fit

[00:19:21] now

[00:19:23] we

[00:19:23] fast

[00:19:24] forward

[00:19:24] two

[00:19:24] years

[00:19:25] remember

[00:19:25] it was

[00:19:26] like

[00:19:26] the

[00:19:26] beam

[00:19:27] the

[00:19:28] beam

[00:19:28] team

[00:19:29] Sacramento's

[00:19:30] back

[00:19:31] broke

[00:19:31] a 16

[00:19:32] year

[00:19:32] playoff

[00:19:33] drought

[00:19:34] it's not

[00:19:35] even two

[00:19:36] years

[00:19:36] later

[00:19:37] and

[00:19:38] have

[00:19:39] fired

[00:19:39] Mike

[00:19:40] Brown

[00:19:40] sometimes

[00:19:41] I don't

[00:19:41] even know

[00:19:42] where to

[00:19:42] start with

[00:19:42] the Kings

[00:19:43] but

[00:19:44] Mike

[00:19:45] Brown

[00:19:45] who led

[00:19:45] them to

[00:19:46] the

[00:19:46] playoffs

[00:19:46] last

[00:19:47] year

[00:19:47] was

[00:19:47] unceremoniously

[00:19:48] fired

[00:19:49] after the

[00:19:50] shaky

[00:19:50] start

[00:19:51] to this

[00:19:51] season

[00:19:51] now

[00:19:52] listen

[00:19:52] the

[00:19:53] Kings

[00:19:53] were not

[00:19:54] covering

[00:19:55] themselves

[00:19:56] in glory

[00:19:57] this year

[00:19:58] they are

[00:19:59] having a

[00:19:59] struggle

[00:20:00] they are

[00:20:01] 14

[00:20:01] and 19

[00:20:02] at this

[00:20:03] present

[00:20:03] time

[00:20:03] and

[00:20:05] there have

[00:20:06] been

[00:20:06] rumors

[00:20:06] that

[00:20:07] Rich Paul

[00:20:07] of Clutch

[00:20:08] Sports

[00:20:08] had

[00:20:09] come to

[00:20:10] town

[00:20:10] a week

[00:20:10] ago

[00:20:11] before

[00:20:11] this

[00:20:13] firing

[00:20:14] had

[00:20:14] happened

[00:20:14] and

[00:20:15] to talk

[00:20:16] about

[00:20:16] with the

[00:20:17] leadership

[00:20:17] of the

[00:20:18] Sacramento

[00:20:18] Kings

[00:20:19] the

[00:20:20] direction

[00:20:20] of the

[00:20:21] franchise

[00:20:22] because

[00:20:23] De'Aaron

[00:20:23] Fox

[00:20:24] was worried

[00:20:25] about

[00:20:26] basically

[00:20:27] spinning your

[00:20:28] wheels

[00:20:29] and

[00:20:29] he's 27

[00:20:30] and he wants

[00:20:31] to be able

[00:20:31] to win

[00:20:32] and try

[00:20:32] to win

[00:20:34] on a big

[00:20:34] stage

[00:20:35] and he

[00:20:35] was trying

[00:20:35] to do

[00:20:35] it for

[00:20:36] the

[00:20:36] Kings

[00:20:37] now

[00:20:39] you have

[00:20:39] this

[00:20:40] situation

[00:20:40] this

[00:20:41] marks

[00:20:42] the

[00:20:42] 8th

[00:20:43] head

[00:20:43] coach

[00:20:43] in

[00:20:44] 12

[00:20:45] years

[00:20:45] 8th

[00:20:46] here's

[00:20:48] the other

[00:20:48] thing

[00:20:48] they also

[00:20:49] have gone

[00:20:50] through

[00:20:50] 4 executives

[00:20:51] in that

[00:20:52] same

[00:20:52] time span

[00:20:53] so if

[00:20:54] you look

[00:20:55] at it

[00:20:55] they're

[00:20:55] basically

[00:20:56] firing

[00:20:57] a whole

[00:20:58] regime

[00:20:58] every

[00:20:59] 3 years

[00:21:01] presidents

[00:21:02] get longer

[00:21:03] than

[00:21:04] 3 years

[00:21:05] now

[00:21:06] let's talk

[00:21:07] about

[00:21:08] De'Aaron

[00:21:08] Fox

[00:21:08] the rumor

[00:21:09] mill

[00:21:09] is buzzing

[00:21:10] about

[00:21:11] Fox

[00:21:11] might

[00:21:11] have

[00:21:12] had

[00:21:12] a

[00:21:13] hand

[00:21:13] in

[00:21:13] Brown's

[00:21:14] firing

[00:21:15] but I'm

[00:21:15] going to

[00:21:15] tell you

[00:21:16] right now

[00:21:17] I think

[00:21:18] Rich Paul

[00:21:20] went there

[00:21:20] he did

[00:21:21] ask some

[00:21:21] questions

[00:21:22] hey

[00:21:22] what are

[00:21:23] we doing

[00:21:23] we didn't

[00:21:24] make any

[00:21:25] major moves

[00:21:25] last year

[00:21:27] bring in

[00:21:28] DeMar DeRozan

[00:21:29] this year

[00:21:29] clearly is not

[00:21:31] working

[00:21:31] and my

[00:21:32] client

[00:21:33] who has

[00:21:35] basically

[00:21:36] been an

[00:21:36] all-star

[00:21:37] but nobody

[00:21:37] knows about

[00:21:38] it because

[00:21:38] he plays

[00:21:39] here in

[00:21:40] Sacramento

[00:21:40] is looking

[00:21:41] to see if

[00:21:42] we can get

[00:21:43] ourselves back

[00:21:44] into that

[00:21:44] playoff

[00:21:45] contendership

[00:21:46] mode

[00:21:47] and he

[00:21:48] aspires to

[00:21:49] be on

[00:21:49] the biggest

[00:21:50] stages

[00:21:51] how are we

[00:21:53] going to

[00:21:53] be able to

[00:21:54] accommodate

[00:21:55] this

[00:21:55] how can

[00:21:56] we help

[00:21:57] you achieve

[00:21:57] this

[00:21:58] brain trust

[00:21:59] of the

[00:22:00] Sacramento

[00:22:00] Kings

[00:22:01] together

[00:22:02] and they

[00:22:03] put their

[00:22:03] thinking caps

[00:22:04] on

[00:22:05] and they

[00:22:05] said you

[00:22:06] know what

[00:22:06] we're gonna

[00:22:07] do

[00:22:08] we're gonna

[00:22:09] fire Mike

[00:22:09] Brown

[00:22:10] under Mike

[00:22:12] Brown

[00:22:12] last season

[00:22:13] Kings saw

[00:22:13] their defensive

[00:22:14] rating improved

[00:22:15] significantly

[00:22:16] jumping from

[00:22:17] 27th to

[00:22:18] 16th in the

[00:22:19] league

[00:22:19] this season

[00:22:20] however

[00:22:20] they have

[00:22:21] slid back

[00:22:21] to 24th

[00:22:23] a concerning

[00:22:24] regression

[00:22:25] add to the

[00:22:26] public

[00:22:27] outcry from

[00:22:28] the fans

[00:22:28] and the

[00:22:30] league

[00:22:30] insider's

[00:22:31] delight

[00:22:31] and the

[00:22:31] Sacramento

[00:22:32] management

[00:22:33] has some

[00:22:34] serious

[00:22:34] explaining to

[00:22:35] do

[00:22:35] I want

[00:22:36] you to

[00:22:36] keep

[00:22:37] that in

[00:22:37] mind

[00:22:37] as well

[00:22:38] because

[00:22:39] here's

[00:22:39] the thing

[00:22:41] Mike

[00:22:42] Brown

[00:22:42] comes

[00:22:42] over

[00:22:43] from

[00:22:43] the

[00:22:43] Golden

[00:22:44] State

[00:22:44] Warriors

[00:22:44] now

[00:22:45] if you

[00:22:47] look at

[00:22:47] the

[00:22:47] two

[00:22:47] franchises

[00:22:48] up in

[00:22:49] what we

[00:22:50] would

[00:22:50] consider

[00:22:50] Northern

[00:22:51] California

[00:22:53] just like

[00:22:54] in Southern

[00:22:54] California

[00:22:55] there is

[00:22:56] a

[00:22:57] clear

[00:22:58] difference

[00:22:58] in the

[00:22:59] history

[00:22:59] of those

[00:23:00] two

[00:23:01] organizations

[00:23:01] situation

[00:23:01] now

[00:23:04] a lot

[00:23:05] of success

[00:23:05] with Golden

[00:23:06] State

[00:23:06] so they

[00:23:07] hire a

[00:23:07] guy

[00:23:08] who was

[00:23:09] on

[00:23:10] the

[00:23:10] Golden

[00:23:11] State

[00:23:11] Warriors

[00:23:11] staff

[00:23:12] through

[00:23:12] the

[00:23:12] championship

[00:23:13] years

[00:23:13] and was

[00:23:14] an

[00:23:14] integral

[00:23:14] part

[00:23:15] in

[00:23:15] those

[00:23:16] situations

[00:23:16] good

[00:23:18] move

[00:23:18] on their

[00:23:18] part

[00:23:19] you make

[00:23:20] a trade

[00:23:21] that was

[00:23:21] unpopular

[00:23:23] at the time

[00:23:23] because the

[00:23:24] Tyrese

[00:23:25] Halliburton

[00:23:25] trade

[00:23:26] to

[00:23:26] DeMontis

[00:23:27] for

[00:23:27] DeMontis

[00:23:28] Simonis

[00:23:29] that trade

[00:23:30] was

[00:23:31] very

[00:23:32] unpopular

[00:23:32] I did

[00:23:34] not like

[00:23:34] that trade

[00:23:35] I thought

[00:23:35] Tyrese

[00:23:36] was a

[00:23:36] better

[00:23:36] player

[00:23:37] now

[00:23:37] will I

[00:23:38] tell you

[00:23:39] can I

[00:23:40] come back

[00:23:40] and tell

[00:23:40] you now

[00:23:41] that

[00:23:43] obviously

[00:23:43] DeMontis

[00:23:44] is

[00:23:44] better

[00:23:45] with the

[00:23:45] Kings

[00:23:46] than

[00:23:46] Tyrese

[00:23:47] Halliburton

[00:23:48] and

[00:23:48] De'Anon Fox

[00:23:49] were doing

[00:23:49] together

[00:23:50] collectively

[00:23:50] yes I

[00:23:51] can come

[00:23:52] back

[00:23:52] and say

[00:23:52] that

[00:23:54] 100%

[00:23:54] now

[00:23:56] the one

[00:23:57] thing we

[00:23:57] did say

[00:23:58] DeMontis

[00:23:58] when he

[00:23:59] did get

[00:23:59] traded

[00:24:00] there

[00:24:00] is that

[00:24:00] there is

[00:24:01] a ceiling

[00:24:01] on him

[00:24:02] the ceiling

[00:24:03] is that

[00:24:03] he does

[00:24:04] not provide

[00:24:05] protection

[00:24:06] that you

[00:24:06] absolutely

[00:24:07] need

[00:24:08] in the

[00:24:08] NBA

[00:24:08] because

[00:24:09] everybody

[00:24:10] wants to

[00:24:10] get to

[00:24:11] the rim

[00:24:11] and shoot

[00:24:12] threes

[00:24:13] who was

[00:24:14] going to

[00:24:15] provide

[00:24:15] that rim

[00:24:16] protection

[00:24:18] you didn't

[00:24:18] have anybody

[00:24:19] then

[00:24:19] and you

[00:24:20] don't have

[00:24:21] anybody

[00:24:21] now

[00:24:22] that's

[00:24:23] the one

[00:24:23] conundrum

[00:24:24] you didn't

[00:24:25] saw

[00:24:25] so you

[00:24:26] jettison

[00:24:27] the guy

[00:24:28] who got

[00:24:29] you from

[00:24:29] 27th

[00:24:30] defensively

[00:24:32] the year

[00:24:32] prior

[00:24:33] to 16th

[00:24:35] last year

[00:24:36] yeah he

[00:24:37] took a step

[00:24:37] back

[00:24:38] because

[00:24:40] your team

[00:24:41] defensively

[00:24:42] is held

[00:24:43] together

[00:24:44] by bubblegum

[00:24:45] and shoestring

[00:24:48] maybe if you

[00:24:49] had a

[00:24:50] sturdier

[00:24:50] defense

[00:24:51] this wouldn't

[00:24:52] be less

[00:24:53] of a problem

[00:24:54] and I

[00:24:55] don't

[00:24:55] even

[00:24:56] blame

[00:24:56] Monty

[00:24:56] McNair

[00:24:57] for this

[00:24:57] because

[00:24:58] this

[00:24:58] comes

[00:24:59] directly

[00:25:00] from

[00:25:02] the top

[00:25:03] and what

[00:25:04] I mean

[00:25:04] by that

[00:25:05] is that

[00:25:05] the firing

[00:25:07] wasn't just

[00:25:08] unprofessional

[00:25:09] it was

[00:25:10] chaotic

[00:25:10] brown was

[00:25:12] informed

[00:25:12] over the

[00:25:13] phone while

[00:25:13] driving to

[00:25:14] the airport

[00:25:15] for a road

[00:25:16] trip

[00:25:16] meanwhile

[00:25:18] Vivek

[00:25:19] Ranadive's

[00:25:20] silence

[00:25:20] only fueled

[00:25:21] speculation

[00:25:22] about

[00:25:22] dysfunction

[00:25:23] at the

[00:25:24] top

[00:25:24] the

[00:25:25] Sacramento

[00:25:26] Kings

[00:25:26] at time

[00:25:28] of this

[00:25:29] recording

[00:25:29] now remember

[00:25:30] they fired

[00:25:31] him Friday

[00:25:31] last Friday

[00:25:32] this is a

[00:25:33] week

[00:25:33] they still

[00:25:35] have not

[00:25:35] had a

[00:25:36] press

[00:25:36] conference

[00:25:36] on

[00:25:38] why

[00:25:40] what was

[00:25:41] the final

[00:25:41] straw

[00:25:41] what did

[00:25:43] you see

[00:25:43] this year

[00:25:44] no one

[00:25:45] for management

[00:25:46] has said

[00:25:47] anything

[00:25:48] they just

[00:25:49] stuck Doug

[00:25:50] Christie

[00:25:50] in the

[00:25:50] in

[00:25:51] in the

[00:25:51] role

[00:25:52] of head

[00:25:52] coach

[00:25:52] and said

[00:25:53] keep

[00:25:53] me

[00:25:53] moving

[00:25:54] now the

[00:25:55] only other

[00:25:56] question is

[00:25:56] will Fox

[00:25:57] be next

[00:25:57] to walk

[00:25:58] out the

[00:25:58] door

[00:25:59] teams like

[00:25:59] the Spurs

[00:26:00] the Heat

[00:26:00] the Lakers

[00:26:02] the Orlando

[00:26:03] Magic

[00:26:04] have a

[00:26:05] strong

[00:26:05] interest

[00:26:07] in De'Aaron

[00:26:07] Fox

[00:26:07] and I'm

[00:26:08] gonna tell

[00:26:08] you right

[00:26:08] now

[00:26:09] if I

[00:26:10] was

[00:26:11] Orlando

[00:26:11] I would

[00:26:12] pull the

[00:26:12] trigger

[00:26:12] immediately

[00:26:15] because I

[00:26:15] think it

[00:26:16] would be a

[00:26:16] vast upgrade

[00:26:17] to what you

[00:26:18] have

[00:26:18] honestly

[00:26:19] you're not

[00:26:19] getting rid

[00:26:20] of any

[00:26:20] of your

[00:26:21] core

[00:26:21] you're not

[00:26:22] getting rid

[00:26:22] of Suggs

[00:26:23] you're not

[00:26:23] getting Apollo

[00:26:24] or Franz

[00:26:26] but you have

[00:26:26] other pieces

[00:26:27] that they

[00:26:28] might find

[00:26:29] intriguing

[00:26:30] and it

[00:26:31] might not be

[00:26:32] the worst

[00:26:33] thing in the

[00:26:33] world for

[00:26:33] Sacramento

[00:26:34] to go ahead

[00:26:35] and reset

[00:26:35] because clearly

[00:26:37] this is not

[00:26:37] working

[00:26:39] and to tell

[00:26:41] you the truth

[00:26:42] it's funny

[00:26:43] you know

[00:26:43] you

[00:26:44] you do

[00:26:45] these pods

[00:26:46] and you

[00:26:47] talk to

[00:26:47] people

[00:26:47] and

[00:26:49] have

[00:26:49] friends

[00:26:50] on

[00:26:50] social

[00:26:51] media

[00:26:52] and you

[00:26:52] get to

[00:26:52] talk to

[00:26:53] people

[00:26:53] in different

[00:26:54] areas

[00:26:54] and you

[00:26:54] find out

[00:26:55] they're having

[00:26:56] the same

[00:26:56] problems

[00:26:57] with their

[00:26:57] team

[00:26:58] that you

[00:26:59] might be

[00:26:59] having

[00:26:59] with your

[00:27:00] team

[00:27:01] and

[00:27:02] I look at

[00:27:03] the Kings

[00:27:04] fans and

[00:27:04] they were

[00:27:05] so excited

[00:27:05] when they

[00:27:06] made the

[00:27:07] playoffs

[00:27:07] and I

[00:27:08] was excited

[00:27:08] for them

[00:27:09] too

[00:27:09] now

[00:27:09] as a

[00:27:10] Laker fan

[00:27:11] a lot

[00:27:11] of people

[00:27:12] so how

[00:27:12] is that

[00:27:12] even

[00:27:13] possible

[00:27:14] I don't

[00:27:14] have the

[00:27:16] I don't

[00:27:16] have the

[00:27:17] vitriol

[00:27:18] against the

[00:27:19] Sacramento

[00:27:19] Kings

[00:27:20] and their

[00:27:21] fans

[00:27:22] as the

[00:27:23] Sacramento

[00:27:23] Kings

[00:27:24] have

[00:27:24] against

[00:27:24] the

[00:27:25] Lakers

[00:27:25] now they

[00:27:26] point to

[00:27:26] 2002

[00:27:27] and all this

[00:27:28] other nonsense

[00:27:28] or whatever

[00:27:29] the case

[00:27:29] I don't

[00:27:32] dog out

[00:27:32] and win

[00:27:33] then

[00:27:33] and y'all

[00:27:34] still ain't

[00:27:34] winning

[00:27:36] but at the

[00:27:37] end of

[00:27:37] the day

[00:27:37] I do feel

[00:27:38] bad for

[00:27:38] fans

[00:27:39] and I'll

[00:27:39] tell you

[00:27:39] why

[00:27:41] they've

[00:27:42] had good

[00:27:42] coaches

[00:27:43] Michael

[00:27:43] Malone

[00:27:44] was there

[00:27:45] say what

[00:27:46] you want

[00:27:46] to say

[00:27:47] about what

[00:27:48] was that

[00:27:48] guy

[00:27:48] Yeager

[00:27:48] he was

[00:27:49] a good

[00:27:49] coach

[00:27:50] and then

[00:27:51] also now

[00:27:52] you have

[00:27:52] Mike

[00:27:52] Brown

[00:27:54] there have

[00:27:54] been good

[00:27:55] players up

[00:27:56] there

[00:27:56] the problem

[00:27:57] is that

[00:27:58] you haven't

[00:27:58] had a

[00:27:59] front office

[00:28:00] regime stay

[00:28:01] long enough

[00:28:02] to be able

[00:28:02] to put the

[00:28:03] pieces

[00:28:03] together

[00:28:03] to form

[00:28:05] a good

[00:28:05] cohesive

[00:28:06] unit

[00:28:08] and now

[00:28:09] you're starting

[00:28:09] all

[00:28:10] not starting

[00:28:10] all over

[00:28:11] again

[00:28:11] but now

[00:28:12] you've got

[00:28:13] a new

[00:28:13] head coach

[00:28:14] in the

[00:28:15] middle of

[00:28:15] the season

[00:28:17] and anybody

[00:28:18] who has

[00:28:18] followed this

[00:28:19] game long

[00:28:19] enough will

[00:28:20] tell you

[00:28:20] that if

[00:28:22] you're firing

[00:28:23] your coach

[00:28:23] in the middle

[00:28:24] of the season

[00:28:24] the season's

[00:28:26] done

[00:28:27] it's a wrap

[00:28:29] they're not

[00:28:30] coming back

[00:28:30] to be a

[00:28:31] contender

[00:28:31] this year

[00:28:32] no way

[00:28:34] so

[00:28:35] my question

[00:28:37] is

[00:28:37] are we

[00:28:38] starting

[00:28:39] the process

[00:28:40] now

[00:28:40] in Sacramento

[00:28:43] and

[00:28:44] it's funny

[00:28:45] I have a

[00:28:45] couple guys

[00:28:46] that I

[00:28:47] used to

[00:28:48] talk to

[00:28:49] from time

[00:28:49] to time

[00:28:50] they're big

[00:28:50] big Sacramento

[00:28:52] Kings

[00:28:53] and they

[00:28:54] used to

[00:28:54] get on

[00:28:55] us Lakers

[00:28:56] about we

[00:28:56] buy championships

[00:28:57] and all this

[00:28:58] other stuff

[00:28:59] I wonder what

[00:29:00] those two guys

[00:29:01] are thinking

[00:29:01] about their

[00:29:02] leadership

[00:29:03] group right

[00:29:03] now

[00:29:04] I wonder

[00:29:04] what they're

[00:29:05] thinking about

[00:29:05] how

[00:29:06] their

[00:29:07] guy

[00:29:08] that

[00:29:09] they root

[00:29:09] for

[00:29:10] the guy

[00:29:10] that

[00:29:11] pushes

[00:29:12] their team

[00:29:13] is

[00:29:14] probably

[00:29:15] looking for

[00:29:15] his exit

[00:29:16] strategy

[00:29:16] right now

[00:29:17] as well

[00:29:18] all this

[00:29:19] has happened

[00:29:20] and

[00:29:21] think about

[00:29:21] the last

[00:29:23] couple years

[00:29:23] for the Sacramento

[00:29:24] Kings

[00:29:25] has been great

[00:29:26] making the playoffs

[00:29:29] excitement

[00:29:29] yes it hasn't

[00:29:30] ended the way

[00:29:31] you wanted it

[00:29:32] to

[00:29:33] but you

[00:29:34] were in

[00:29:34] the mix

[00:29:36] and now

[00:29:37] you had a

[00:29:38] bad start

[00:29:39] you fire the

[00:29:40] coach

[00:29:41] you might

[00:29:42] have want

[00:29:43] to look

[00:29:43] at the

[00:29:43] roster

[00:29:45] and the

[00:29:46] Keegan

[00:29:46] Murray thing

[00:29:47] is so funny

[00:29:48] to me

[00:29:49] for this

[00:29:49] reason

[00:29:50] at the

[00:29:51] time of

[00:29:51] the draft

[00:29:52] we thought

[00:29:52] that Jaden

[00:29:53] Ivey

[00:29:53] was a

[00:29:54] prospect

[00:29:55] then

[00:29:56] Keegan

[00:29:56] Murray

[00:29:57] had a

[00:29:57] good

[00:29:57] first year

[00:29:58] and obviously

[00:29:59] it took

[00:30:00] Jaden

[00:30:00] a while

[00:30:01] to get

[00:30:02] it

[00:30:02] because

[00:30:02] guards

[00:30:03] who come

[00:30:04] into

[00:30:04] league

[00:30:06] have a

[00:30:06] harder

[00:30:07] time

[00:30:08] they're

[00:30:09] dealing

[00:30:09] with

[00:30:09] killers

[00:30:09] every

[00:30:10] single

[00:30:10] night

[00:30:10] now

[00:30:11] we fast

[00:30:12] forward

[00:30:12] to this

[00:30:13] year

[00:30:13] now

[00:30:13] yes

[00:30:14] Jaden

[00:30:15] Ivey

[00:30:15] just

[00:30:15] got hurt

[00:30:15] but

[00:30:16] he was

[00:30:17] having

[00:30:17] an incredible

[00:30:17] season

[00:30:18] we're seeing

[00:30:18] huge

[00:30:19] leaps

[00:30:20] of development

[00:30:21] in

[00:30:22] Jaden

[00:30:22] Ivey

[00:30:24] and

[00:30:25] no shade

[00:30:25] to

[00:30:26] Keegan

[00:30:26] Murray

[00:30:26] because

[00:30:29] I

[00:30:29] asked

[00:30:29] the

[00:30:29] question

[00:30:30] when

[00:30:30] DeMar

[00:30:30] DeRozan

[00:30:31] came

[00:30:31] aboard

[00:30:32] was

[00:30:32] how

[00:30:33] is

[00:30:33] this

[00:30:33] going

[00:30:33] to

[00:30:34] affect

[00:30:34] Keegan

[00:30:34] Murray's

[00:30:35] development

[00:30:35] into

[00:30:36] that

[00:30:36] score

[00:30:37] you can

[00:30:38] count

[00:30:38] on

[00:30:39] down

[00:30:39] the

[00:30:39] road

[00:30:41] now

[00:30:42] we'll

[00:30:42] never

[00:30:43] know

[00:30:44] because

[00:30:45] I

[00:30:45] don't

[00:30:45] think

[00:30:45] Keegan

[00:30:46] Murray

[00:30:46] is

[00:30:46] going

[00:30:56] shooting

[00:30:56] threes

[00:30:57] in the

[00:30:57] corner

[00:30:57] playing

[00:30:58] pretty

[00:30:58] good

[00:30:58] defense

[00:30:59] getting

[00:30:59] a board

[00:31:00] here

[00:31:00] and there

[00:31:00] and

[00:31:01] playing

[00:31:02] connectivity

[00:31:03] basketball

[00:31:04] but we'll

[00:31:07] never know

[00:31:07] if he could

[00:31:08] have been

[00:31:09] truly

[00:31:09] developed

[00:31:09] in

[00:31:10] number

[00:31:10] two

[00:31:10] three

[00:31:11] option

[00:31:13] because

[00:31:14] they

[00:31:15] constantly

[00:31:15] kept

[00:31:16] blocking

[00:31:16] his

[00:31:16] development

[00:31:18] and now

[00:31:19] here we

[00:31:19] are

[00:31:20] here

[00:31:21] we are

[00:31:23] that's

[00:31:24] what's

[00:31:24] going

[00:31:24] on

[00:31:24] with

[00:31:25] Sacramento

[00:31:25] I

[00:31:26] want to

[00:31:26] before we

[00:31:27] get to

[00:31:27] our major

[00:31:28] stuff

[00:31:28] need to

[00:31:29] talk

[00:31:29] about

[00:31:29] I

[00:31:30] want

[00:31:30] to

[00:31:30] end

[00:31:30] on

[00:31:31] a

[00:31:31] note

[00:31:31] did

[00:31:32] anybody

[00:31:32] see

[00:31:33] what

[00:31:33] Tyler

[00:31:34] Kolek

[00:31:34] pull

[00:31:35] off

[00:31:35] the

[00:31:35] other

[00:31:35] day

[00:31:35] for

[00:31:36] the

[00:31:36] New

[00:31:36] York

[00:31:36] Knicks

[00:31:37] now

[00:31:38] if

[00:31:38] you're

[00:31:39] not

[00:31:39] familiar

[00:31:39] with

[00:31:39] Tyler

[00:31:40] Kolek

[00:31:40] he's

[00:31:41] a rookie

[00:31:41] out of

[00:31:42] Marquette

[00:31:42] had

[00:31:43] incredible

[00:31:44] years

[00:31:44] at

[00:31:45] Marquette

[00:31:45] really

[00:31:46] good

[00:31:46] floor

[00:31:47] general

[00:31:47] shoots

[00:31:48] the

[00:31:49] three

[00:31:49] not

[00:31:50] super

[00:31:50] athletic

[00:31:51] but

[00:31:51] just

[00:31:52] crafty

[00:31:52] and all

[00:31:53] these

[00:31:53] things

[00:31:54] now

[00:31:54] he

[00:31:58] but

[00:31:58] he

[00:31:59] does

[00:31:59] play

[00:31:59] for

[00:31:59] their

[00:32:00] G

[00:32:00] league

[00:32:00] affiliate

[00:32:01] and

[00:32:01] things

[00:32:01] of

[00:32:01] that

[00:32:01] nature

[00:32:02] but

[00:32:02] my

[00:32:03] man

[00:32:04] credit

[00:32:05] to him

[00:32:05] last week

[00:32:06] he played

[00:32:07] in a

[00:32:07] G

[00:32:07] league

[00:32:08] game

[00:32:08] and then

[00:32:09] suited up

[00:32:10] for

[00:32:11] an NBA

[00:32:12] game

[00:32:12] in the

[00:32:13] same

[00:32:13] in the

[00:32:16] same

[00:32:17] now

[00:32:17] he

[00:32:18] played

[00:32:18] 12

[00:32:18] minutes

[00:32:19] and

[00:32:19] tally

[00:32:20] two

[00:32:20] points

[00:32:21] and

[00:32:21] four

[00:32:21] assists

[00:32:21] for

[00:32:22] the

[00:32:22] Knicks

[00:32:23] but

[00:32:23] man

[00:32:24] shout

[00:32:24] out

[00:32:24] to

[00:32:25] Tyler

[00:32:25] Kolek

[00:32:26] my

[00:32:27] man

[00:32:27] pulled

[00:32:27] off

[00:32:27] a

[00:32:28] double

[00:32:28] head

[00:32:28] playing

[00:32:29] basketball

[00:32:30] in the

[00:32:33] same

[00:32:33] day

[00:32:33] man

[00:32:34] that's

[00:32:34] crazy

[00:32:34] I

[00:32:35] love

[00:32:35] that

[00:32:35] I

[00:32:46] you

[00:32:50] know

[00:32:50] your

[00:32:54] bench

[00:32:58] players

[00:32:58] need

[00:32:59] to be

[00:32:59] got

[00:33:00] their

[00:33:00] head

[00:33:00] on

[00:33:00] swivel

[00:33:01] too

[00:33:01] just

[00:33:02] because

[00:33:02] you

[00:33:02] played

[00:33:02] a

[00:33:03] game

[00:33:03] in

[00:33:03] the

[00:33:03] G

[00:33:03] league

[00:33:04] doesn't

[00:33:05] mean

[00:33:05] that

[00:33:06] you

[00:33:06] not

[00:33:06] going

[00:33:07] to

[00:33:07] get

[00:33:07] on

[00:33:07] this

[00:33:15] but

[00:33:16] look at

[00:33:16] Tibbs

[00:33:17] getting

[00:33:17] getting

[00:33:18] more

[00:33:19] bang for

[00:33:19] his

[00:33:19] buck

[00:33:20] per

[00:33:20] usual

[00:33:22] per

[00:33:22] usual

[00:33:23] for

[00:33:23] Tibbs

[00:33:25] damn

[00:33:25] I can't

[00:33:26] play

[00:33:26] Josh

[00:33:26] Hart

[00:33:27] 48

[00:33:27] minutes

[00:33:28] alright

[00:33:29] Tyler

[00:33:29] you

[00:33:30] gonna have

[00:33:30] to

[00:33:30] play

[00:33:30] what

[00:33:31] I

[00:33:31] just

[00:33:31] played

[00:33:31] a

[00:33:32] G

[00:33:32] league

[00:33:32] game

[00:33:32] I

[00:33:32] don't

[00:33:32] care

[00:33:33] man

[00:33:34] I

[00:33:34] need

[00:33:35] you

[00:33:35] to

[00:33:35] play

[00:33:35] in

[00:33:35] this

[00:33:35] one

[00:33:36] too

[00:33:36] let's

[00:33:37] go

[00:33:37] chop

[00:33:39] okay

[00:33:39] now

[00:33:40] we're

[00:33:40] gonna

[00:33:40] move

[00:33:40] on

[00:33:41] and

[00:33:42] not

[00:33:42] the

[00:33:42] greatest

[00:33:43] segue

[00:33:43] on the

[00:33:44] face

[00:33:44] of the

[00:33:44] planet

[00:33:44] I

[00:33:45] do

[00:33:45] apologize

[00:33:46] but

[00:33:46] I

[00:33:47] do

[00:33:47] believe

[00:33:47] that

[00:33:48] we

[00:33:48] will

[00:33:48] make

[00:33:48] up

[00:33:48] for

[00:33:49] it

[00:33:50] in

[00:33:50] substance

[00:33:51] in

[00:33:51] the

[00:33:51] next

[00:33:52] part

[00:33:52] of

[00:33:52] this

[00:33:52] podcast

[00:33:53] because

[00:33:53] what

[00:33:54] we're

[00:33:54] gonna

[00:33:54] talk

[00:33:54] about

[00:33:55] is

[00:33:55] we're

[00:33:56] gonna

[00:33:56] talk

[00:33:56] about

[00:33:56] some

[00:33:56] NBA

[00:33:57] prospects

[00:33:58] now

[00:33:58] some

[00:33:59] of

[00:33:59] these

[00:33:59] names

[00:33:59] you're

[00:34:00] gonna

[00:34:00] know

[00:34:00] and

[00:34:01] some

[00:34:01] of

[00:34:01] these

[00:34:01] names

[00:34:01] you're

[00:34:01] gonna

[00:34:01] go

[00:34:02] I

[00:34:02] have

[00:34:02] who

[00:34:03] is

[00:34:03] this

[00:34:03] and

[00:34:04] why

[00:34:04] is

[00:34:06] Vince

[00:34:06] not

[00:34:06] talking

[00:34:06] about

[00:34:07] Cooper

[00:34:07] Flag

[00:34:08] or

[00:34:08] Dylan

[00:34:09] Harper

[00:34:09] or

[00:34:10] Ace

[00:34:10] Bailey

[00:34:11] there

[00:34:11] are

[00:34:11] people

[00:34:12] beyond

[00:34:12] those

[00:34:13] names

[00:34:14] who

[00:34:16] are

[00:34:16] really

[00:34:17] moving up

[00:34:18] the draft

[00:34:19] boards

[00:34:19] and you

[00:34:19] guys need

[00:34:20] to hear

[00:34:20] about

[00:34:20] these

[00:34:21] people

[00:34:21] so

[00:34:21] let's

[00:34:22] get

[00:34:23] to

[00:34:23] it

[00:34:24] the

[00:34:24] first

[00:34:25] guy

[00:34:25] that I

[00:34:25] want

[00:34:26] to

[00:34:26] talk

[00:34:26] about

[00:34:26] is

[00:34:27] Jeremiah

[00:34:27] Fears

[00:34:28] now

[00:34:29] Jeremiah

[00:34:30] Fears

[00:34:30] is a

[00:34:31] 6'4

[00:34:32] point guard

[00:34:33] for

[00:34:33] Oklahoma

[00:34:34] and

[00:34:35] Fears

[00:34:35] is

[00:34:36] healing

[00:34:37] it

[00:34:37] for

[00:34:37] Oklahoma

[00:34:38] he's

[00:34:39] averaging

[00:34:39] 19.8

[00:34:40] points

[00:34:41] a game

[00:34:41] he's

[00:34:42] averaging

[00:34:42] 6.2

[00:34:43] assists

[00:34:44] a game

[00:34:44] he's

[00:34:45] also

[00:34:45] averaging

[00:34:46] 1.7

[00:34:46] steals

[00:34:47] now

[00:34:48] the

[00:34:49] scouting

[00:34:49] point

[00:34:49] on him

[00:34:50] is

[00:34:50] that

[00:34:51] he's

[00:34:52] elite

[00:34:52] downhill

[00:34:53] scorer

[00:34:53] with

[00:34:54] explosive

[00:34:54] athleticism

[00:34:55] he has

[00:34:57] high level

[00:34:58] playmaking

[00:34:58] ability

[00:34:59] which is

[00:35:00] reflected

[00:35:01] in his

[00:35:02] 34.4%

[00:35:04] assist rate

[00:35:06] okay

[00:35:07] so my

[00:35:08] man

[00:35:08] shares

[00:35:09] the sugar

[00:35:09] and he

[00:35:10] does it

[00:35:11] efficiently

[00:35:13] the other

[00:35:14] thing

[00:35:14] is that

[00:35:15] he touches

[00:35:16] the pain

[00:35:17] he's

[00:35:18] he has

[00:35:18] such a

[00:35:19] calm about

[00:35:19] him

[00:35:20] when he

[00:35:20] touches

[00:35:21] the pain

[00:35:21] some people

[00:35:22] if they get

[00:35:23] a crowd

[00:35:24] around

[00:35:24] them

[00:35:24] they'll

[00:35:25] start to

[00:35:26] panic

[00:35:27] and

[00:35:27] you know

[00:35:27] you'll

[00:35:28] see

[00:35:28] balls

[00:35:28] go

[00:35:29] errantly

[00:35:29] into

[00:35:30] the

[00:35:30] stands

[00:35:30] or

[00:35:30] whatever

[00:35:31] with him

[00:35:32] there seems

[00:35:33] like a

[00:35:34] peace

[00:35:34] comes

[00:35:34] and he's

[00:35:36] able to

[00:35:37] get to

[00:35:37] the shot

[00:35:38] that he

[00:35:38] wants

[00:35:39] or find

[00:35:39] the open

[00:35:40] man

[00:35:40] at that

[00:35:41] present

[00:35:41] time

[00:35:43] he has

[00:35:43] excellent

[00:35:44] touch

[00:35:44] on his

[00:35:45] floaters

[00:35:45] and his

[00:35:46] mid-range

[00:35:47] shots

[00:35:47] are beautiful

[00:35:49] and he

[00:35:50] can get

[00:35:50] to that

[00:35:50] his spot

[00:35:52] I would

[00:35:54] say

[00:35:55] a good

[00:35:56] 90%

[00:35:57] of the

[00:35:57] time

[00:35:57] there's

[00:35:58] not

[00:35:58] going

[00:35:58] to

[00:35:58] be

[00:35:58] a lot

[00:35:59] of

[00:35:59] people

[00:35:59] that's

[00:35:59] going

[00:35:59] to

[00:35:59] stop

[00:36:00] him

[00:36:00] and get

[00:36:01] into

[00:36:01] his

[00:36:01] spot

[00:36:01] a couple

[00:36:02] of the

[00:36:03] weaknesses

[00:36:03] that I have

[00:36:04] noticed

[00:36:04] is that the

[00:36:05] perimeter

[00:36:05] shooting

[00:36:05] is

[00:36:06] inconsistent

[00:36:07] but this

[00:36:08] goes along

[00:36:09] with somebody

[00:36:10] who is

[00:36:11] just turned

[00:36:12] 19

[00:36:12] so that's

[00:36:14] going to

[00:36:14] need some

[00:36:14] improvement

[00:36:15] now his

[00:36:16] decision making

[00:36:17] under pressure

[00:36:18] can lead

[00:36:18] to turnovers

[00:36:19] now he

[00:36:20] has some

[00:36:21] hero ball

[00:36:22] in him

[00:36:23] there are

[00:36:24] some times

[00:36:25] where he

[00:36:25] sees the

[00:36:26] game a little

[00:36:26] bit faster

[00:36:27] than his

[00:36:28] teammates

[00:36:28] see the

[00:36:30] aim

[00:36:31] I think

[00:36:32] once they

[00:36:33] are connected

[00:36:34] fully

[00:36:34] some of

[00:36:35] those turnovers

[00:36:36] will not be

[00:36:37] turnovers

[00:36:39] keep in mind

[00:36:40] this is

[00:36:41] a 19

[00:36:42] year old

[00:36:42] guard

[00:36:44] playing with

[00:36:44] probably a

[00:36:45] bunch of

[00:36:45] 19 year olds

[00:36:46] and

[00:36:48] there's going

[00:36:49] to be some

[00:36:49] continuity

[00:36:50] issues

[00:36:50] from time

[00:36:51] to time

[00:36:52] now

[00:36:54] what's the

[00:36:55] comp

[00:36:55] I don't

[00:36:56] like to do

[00:36:56] comps

[00:36:57] but

[00:36:57] he has

[00:36:59] I'll say

[00:37:00] this

[00:37:01] he has

[00:37:01] some similarities

[00:37:02] to Westbrook

[00:37:03] with some

[00:37:04] of the

[00:37:04] exclusivity

[00:37:05] but I

[00:37:06] liken him

[00:37:07] a little

[00:37:08] to

[00:37:08] Jaden

[00:37:08] Ivey

[00:37:09] I don't

[00:37:09] think he's

[00:37:10] nearly the

[00:37:11] athlete

[00:37:11] that

[00:37:13] Ivey

[00:37:13] is

[00:37:14] but

[00:37:16] and when

[00:37:17] I say

[00:37:17] that

[00:37:17] I don't

[00:37:18] know

[00:37:18] that sounds

[00:37:18] like

[00:37:18] shade

[00:37:20] maybe

[00:37:21] he is

[00:37:21] a

[00:37:21] elite

[00:37:23] elite

[00:37:23] like

[00:37:24] 1%

[00:37:25] top

[00:37:26] 1%

[00:37:27] my

[00:37:28] guy

[00:37:29] might

[00:37:29] be

[00:37:29] in

[00:37:29] like

[00:37:29] the

[00:37:30] 95th

[00:37:30] percentile

[00:37:31] like

[00:37:32] high

[00:37:32] caliber

[00:37:33] athlete

[00:37:34] but

[00:37:35] not

[00:37:35] at

[00:37:35] that

[00:37:36] almost

[00:37:36] immortal

[00:37:37] stage

[00:37:38] of

[00:37:38] athlete

[00:37:38] like

[00:37:39] Jaden Ivey

[00:37:39] and

[00:37:40] like

[00:37:41] Iman

[00:37:41] Thompson

[00:37:42] and people

[00:37:42] like that

[00:37:43] I think

[00:37:44] his

[00:37:45] potential

[00:37:45] role

[00:37:45] in the

[00:37:46] league

[00:37:46] is that

[00:37:47] if he

[00:37:47] continues

[00:37:48] to mature

[00:37:48] like this

[00:37:49] and continues

[00:37:50] to show

[00:37:50] he can

[00:37:52] take care

[00:37:52] of the

[00:37:52] basketball

[00:37:53] he has

[00:37:54] the potential

[00:37:54] to be a

[00:37:55] starting

[00:37:55] guard

[00:37:56] in the

[00:37:57] league

[00:37:57] and

[00:37:58] if the

[00:37:59] scoring

[00:37:59] and the

[00:38:01] shooting

[00:38:02] there's

[00:38:03] more

[00:38:03] consistency

[00:38:04] on the

[00:38:04] jump shot

[00:38:06] he has

[00:38:06] a chance

[00:38:07] to be

[00:38:07] like an

[00:38:08] all-star

[00:38:08] caliber

[00:38:09] level

[00:38:10] guard

[00:38:10] in this

[00:38:11] league

[00:38:12] so

[00:38:12] now

[00:38:13] when I

[00:38:14] say

[00:38:14] all-star

[00:38:14] caliber

[00:38:15] guard

[00:38:15] then say

[00:38:16] perennial

[00:38:17] I say

[00:38:18] like

[00:38:18] I'm

[00:38:19] going to

[00:38:19] make two

[00:38:20] or three

[00:38:21] not

[00:38:22] I'm

[00:38:22] going to

[00:38:22] make 12

[00:38:24] big

[00:38:25] difference

[00:38:27] but

[00:38:27] as a

[00:38:28] prospect

[00:38:29] I do

[00:38:30] like him

[00:38:30] and he's

[00:38:31] also

[00:38:32] fierce

[00:38:33] is showing

[00:38:33] something

[00:38:34] also

[00:38:34] in his

[00:38:35] game

[00:38:35] that I

[00:38:35] want to

[00:38:36] talk

[00:38:36] about

[00:38:36] is

[00:38:37] that

[00:38:37] he's

[00:38:37] also

[00:38:37] shown

[00:38:38] the

[00:38:39] ability

[00:38:39] to

[00:38:40] to

[00:38:40] save

[00:38:41] something

[00:38:41] for

[00:38:42] later

[00:38:42] in the

[00:38:42] game

[00:38:43] and

[00:38:43] what

[00:38:44] I

[00:38:44] mean

[00:38:44] by

[00:38:44] this

[00:38:45] is

[00:38:45] that

[00:38:45] there

[00:38:45] was

[00:38:45] a

[00:38:46] game

[00:38:46] that

[00:38:46] he played

[00:38:46] I want

[00:38:47] to say

[00:38:47] it was about

[00:38:49] a week

[00:38:49] ago

[00:38:49] where

[00:38:50] he

[00:38:51] was

[00:38:52] using

[00:38:53] his

[00:38:53] right

[00:38:53] hand

[00:38:54] and

[00:38:55] a lot

[00:38:56] he was

[00:38:57] using a

[00:38:57] lot

[00:38:58] but

[00:38:59] he set

[00:39:00] up his

[00:39:01] left hand

[00:39:01] so

[00:39:01] devastatingly

[00:39:02] like

[00:39:03] towards

[00:39:03] later

[00:39:04] in the

[00:39:04] game

[00:39:04] and it

[00:39:05] was crazy

[00:39:05] because

[00:39:06] he kept

[00:39:06] going

[00:39:07] is he

[00:39:08] is he

[00:39:09] just

[00:39:09] right

[00:39:09] dominant

[00:39:10] no

[00:39:11] he was

[00:39:12] setting up

[00:39:13] the left

[00:39:13] hand

[00:39:14] when he

[00:39:14] needed

[00:39:14] and I

[00:39:16] thought

[00:39:16] okay

[00:39:17] okay

[00:39:17] see

[00:39:18] so he

[00:39:19] has

[00:39:19] some

[00:39:20] some

[00:39:21] high

[00:39:22] level

[00:39:22] chest

[00:39:23] playing

[00:39:23] to his

[00:39:24] offense

[00:39:24] in his

[00:39:25] back

[00:39:26] he's one

[00:39:26] to look

[00:39:27] out for

[00:39:27] and I'll

[00:39:27] tell you

[00:39:28] right now

[00:39:28] Jeremiah

[00:39:29] Fiers

[00:39:29] could be

[00:39:30] somebody

[00:39:30] that

[00:39:31] it wouldn't

[00:39:32] surprise me

[00:39:33] he ends

[00:39:33] up in

[00:39:34] like the

[00:39:34] top five

[00:39:35] of this

[00:39:36] upcoming

[00:39:36] NBA

[00:39:37] draft

[00:39:38] now

[00:39:38] we're

[00:39:39] gonna

[00:39:39] move

[00:39:39] along

[00:39:40] to

[00:39:40] our

[00:39:40] next

[00:39:41] guy

[00:39:41] which

[00:39:41] is

[00:39:43] I

[00:39:44] love

[00:39:44] saying

[00:39:44] it

[00:39:44] it's

[00:39:45] Kaspers

[00:39:46] and

[00:39:47] let me

[00:39:47] tell you

[00:39:48] something

[00:39:48] about

[00:39:48] this

[00:39:49] 6'6

[00:39:49] Lithuanian

[00:39:50] guard

[00:39:51] who plays

[00:39:51] for

[00:39:52] Illinois

[00:39:52] let me

[00:39:52] tell you

[00:39:53] something

[00:39:53] about

[00:39:53] this

[00:39:53] kid

[00:39:54] savvy

[00:39:55] is not

[00:39:56] even

[00:39:56] a

[00:39:57] question

[00:39:58] okay

[00:39:58] he's

[00:39:59] averaging

[00:39:59] 14.5

[00:40:01] points

[00:40:01] a game

[00:40:01] he's

[00:40:02] 7.8

[00:40:03] assists

[00:40:04] a game

[00:40:05] okay

[00:40:05] so

[00:40:05] 7.8

[00:40:06] assists

[00:40:07] in

[00:40:08] college

[00:40:08] that's

[00:40:09] awesome

[00:40:09] the other

[00:40:10] thing

[00:40:10] is he's

[00:40:11] 6'6

[00:40:11] so

[00:40:13] see over

[00:40:13] the offense

[00:40:15] whatever

[00:40:15] case

[00:40:15] can be

[00:40:17] here's

[00:40:17] some of

[00:40:18] his

[00:40:18] strengths

[00:40:18] he's

[00:40:19] a jumbo

[00:40:19] playmaker

[00:40:20] obviously

[00:40:21] of the

[00:40:21] highest

[00:40:22] order

[00:40:22] with

[00:40:23] elite

[00:40:24] court

[00:40:24] vision

[00:40:25] he's

[00:40:26] a

[00:40:26] reliable

[00:40:26] shooter

[00:40:26] and his

[00:40:27] mechanics

[00:40:28] are smooth

[00:40:29] he has

[00:40:30] composure

[00:40:31] under

[00:40:31] pressure

[00:40:32] he's

[00:40:32] honed

[00:40:33] internationally

[00:40:34] with his

[00:40:35] abroad

[00:40:37] now

[00:40:38] is he

[00:40:38] the fastest

[00:40:39] dude

[00:40:39] he lacks

[00:40:40] some lateral

[00:40:41] quickness

[00:40:41] so that

[00:40:43] limits him

[00:40:43] on defense

[00:40:44] he's

[00:40:44] a better

[00:40:45] team

[00:40:46] defender

[00:40:47] than an

[00:40:48] individual

[00:40:48] defender

[00:40:50] he needs

[00:40:51] to improve

[00:40:51] physicality

[00:40:52] to handle

[00:40:53] the NBA

[00:40:53] defenses

[00:40:54] he can be

[00:40:55] pushed off

[00:40:56] a little

[00:40:56] bit

[00:40:56] and

[00:40:58] the

[00:40:59] offensive

[00:41:00] player can

[00:41:01] advance

[00:41:01] on him

[00:41:02] a lot

[00:41:02] once he's

[00:41:04] on the

[00:41:04] hip

[00:41:04] of

[00:41:05] the

[00:41:05] offensive

[00:41:06] player

[00:41:07] he's

[00:41:07] not able

[00:41:07] to get

[00:41:08] around

[00:41:08] on that

[00:41:09] so there

[00:41:10] are some

[00:41:10] things that

[00:41:11] he definitely

[00:41:11] needs to

[00:41:12] work

[00:41:12] but

[00:41:13] as somebody

[00:41:14] who can

[00:41:15] get you

[00:41:15] into a

[00:41:16] good look

[00:41:19] cast

[00:41:19] cast

[00:41:19] cast

[00:41:19] yaku

[00:41:20] chunas

[00:41:20] can do

[00:41:22] cast

[00:41:22] yaku

[00:41:23] chunas

[00:41:23] is a

[00:41:24] high

[00:41:24] level

[00:41:25] play

[00:41:26] maker

[00:41:28] this is

[00:41:29] not a

[00:41:29] dude

[00:41:29] to be

[00:41:30] fool

[00:41:30] with

[00:41:31] because he

[00:41:32] will make

[00:41:32] you look

[00:41:32] stupid

[00:41:33] I saw

[00:41:33] it

[00:41:33] time and

[00:41:34] time again

[00:41:35] on the

[00:41:37] film

[00:41:38] and

[00:41:40] he's a

[00:41:41] guy that

[00:41:41] he can use

[00:41:42] the pick

[00:41:42] and roll

[00:41:43] he can

[00:41:44] uses it

[00:41:45] in a

[00:41:45] myriad of

[00:41:46] ways

[00:41:46] he can

[00:41:47] find

[00:41:47] open

[00:41:48] shooters

[00:41:48] in the

[00:41:49] corner

[00:41:49] if you

[00:41:50] double him

[00:41:51] he loves

[00:41:52] it

[00:41:52] it makes

[00:41:53] the game

[00:41:53] so much

[00:41:54] easier

[00:41:54] for him

[00:41:55] because he'll

[00:41:56] just dissect

[00:41:56] you

[00:41:57] my thought

[00:41:58] to him

[00:41:58] is this

[00:41:58] is that

[00:41:59] he kind

[00:41:59] of reminds

[00:42:00] me a little

[00:42:01] bit

[00:42:02] he has

[00:42:03] some edge

[00:42:03] to him

[00:42:04] kind of

[00:42:04] reminds me

[00:42:05] he has

[00:42:07] some shades

[00:42:07] like

[00:42:08] Chauncey

[00:42:08] Billups

[00:42:09] Chauncey

[00:42:10] Billups

[00:42:10] was one

[00:42:10] of those

[00:42:11] guys

[00:42:11] that really

[00:42:11] got a lot

[00:42:12] out of

[00:42:12] his talent

[00:42:13] but he

[00:42:14] relished

[00:42:15] the big

[00:42:15] moment

[00:42:15] and Yaka

[00:42:17] Chuna

[00:42:17] reminds me

[00:42:18] in that

[00:42:19] just that

[00:42:20] part

[00:42:20] I'm not

[00:42:21] saying he's

[00:42:22] Chauncey

[00:42:22] Billups

[00:42:22] what I'm

[00:42:23] saying is

[00:42:23] that

[00:42:23] in his

[00:42:25] clutch

[00:42:25] situations

[00:42:28] his heart

[00:42:29] level

[00:42:29] his heartbeat

[00:42:30] does not

[00:42:30] raise

[00:42:31] at all

[00:42:33] I think

[00:42:34] he can

[00:42:34] be a

[00:42:35] versatile

[00:42:35] guard

[00:42:35] in the

[00:42:36] league

[00:42:36] he's

[00:42:37] capable

[00:42:37] of running

[00:42:38] an offense

[00:42:39] I think

[00:42:40] that he

[00:42:40] could be

[00:42:41] a

[00:42:41] high

[00:42:42] role

[00:42:43] player

[00:42:43] I think

[00:42:44] that

[00:42:44] he has

[00:42:45] a chance

[00:42:45] to start

[00:42:46] I think

[00:42:47] he could

[00:42:47] be

[00:42:47] a

[00:42:48] pivotal

[00:42:49] part

[00:42:50] of a

[00:42:50] rotation

[00:42:50] obviously

[00:42:52] like

[00:42:52] top

[00:42:52] seven

[00:42:53] type

[00:42:53] of guy

[00:42:53] somebody

[00:42:55] that

[00:42:55] you're

[00:42:55] counting

[00:42:55] on

[00:42:56] on a

[00:42:57] nightly

[00:42:57] basis

[00:42:58] to get

[00:42:58] you buckets

[00:42:59] in production

[00:42:59] and get

[00:43:00] your team

[00:43:01] to the

[00:43:01] right

[00:43:01] offense

[00:43:02] the key

[00:43:02] for him

[00:43:03] will always

[00:43:03] be

[00:43:04] can

[00:43:05] you hide

[00:43:05] him on

[00:43:05] defense

[00:43:06] or can

[00:43:06] he find

[00:43:07] some more

[00:43:08] physicality

[00:43:08] where he's

[00:43:09] not

[00:43:10] push

[00:43:10] over

[00:43:11] because he

[00:43:11] needs to put

[00:43:12] on some

[00:43:12] weight

[00:43:12] but he's

[00:43:13] 19

[00:43:14] let's move

[00:43:15] on to

[00:43:16] a couple

[00:43:17] bigs that I

[00:43:18] want to talk

[00:43:19] about

[00:43:19] and the first

[00:43:20] big that I do

[00:43:21] want to talk

[00:43:22] about is

[00:43:22] Asa Newell

[00:43:23] now

[00:43:24] Asa Newell

[00:43:25] is playing

[00:43:26] for Georgia

[00:43:27] he's

[00:43:28] 6'11

[00:43:28] they list

[00:43:30] him as a

[00:43:30] forward

[00:43:30] center

[00:43:32] Asa Newell

[00:43:33] is right

[00:43:34] now averaging

[00:43:34] 17.3

[00:43:36] points a

[00:43:36] game

[00:43:36] he's averaging

[00:43:37] 8.3

[00:43:38] rebounds

[00:43:39] and he

[00:43:39] shoots

[00:43:40] 35%

[00:43:41] from 3

[00:43:43] great

[00:43:45] that

[00:43:46] now

[00:43:47] Asa

[00:43:48] he's one

[00:43:49] of these

[00:43:49] kids that

[00:43:50] when you

[00:43:50] see him

[00:43:51] in AAU

[00:43:51] you go

[00:43:52] okay

[00:43:53] he's

[00:43:54] huge

[00:43:54] big kid

[00:43:56] long

[00:43:57] big kid

[00:43:57] because the

[00:43:59] thing he goes

[00:43:59] about 220

[00:44:00] so he's

[00:44:01] going to need

[00:44:02] to put a

[00:44:02] little more

[00:44:02] weight

[00:44:03] now

[00:44:04] he has

[00:44:05] some crazy

[00:44:06] athleticism

[00:44:07] he has two

[00:44:08] way athleticism

[00:44:09] and he has

[00:44:10] the ability

[00:44:11] to switch on

[00:44:11] defense onto

[00:44:12] smaller guys

[00:44:14] the reason

[00:44:15] why I say

[00:44:16] that is

[00:44:16] because

[00:44:18] it's rare

[00:44:18] when you get

[00:44:19] the big

[00:44:19] that can

[00:44:20] do that

[00:44:21] those are

[00:44:22] hard to

[00:44:23] combine

[00:44:23] the bigs

[00:44:24] that can

[00:44:24] actually switch

[00:44:25] onto smaller

[00:44:26] guys and

[00:44:26] you're cool

[00:44:27] with leaving

[00:44:27] them on

[00:44:28] that

[00:44:28] and I've

[00:44:30] seen it

[00:44:30] I want to

[00:44:31] say that

[00:44:32] I've seen

[00:44:32] it on

[00:44:32] five occasions

[00:44:33] with like

[00:44:34] big time

[00:44:35] teams that

[00:44:36] Georgia has

[00:44:36] played that

[00:44:37] he's on

[00:44:38] the guy

[00:44:38] that is

[00:44:39] their primary

[00:44:39] wing guy

[00:44:41] who is

[00:44:42] getting buckets

[00:44:44] and he's

[00:44:45] been able to

[00:44:45] hold his

[00:44:46] own with

[00:44:47] those type

[00:44:48] of guys

[00:44:48] on the

[00:44:49] perimeter

[00:44:49] which makes

[00:44:50] me think

[00:44:51] that he's

[00:44:52] very comfortable

[00:44:52] in this role

[00:44:53] it's not

[00:44:54] something that's

[00:44:55] foreign to

[00:44:55] him and

[00:44:56] it's something

[00:44:57] that will be

[00:44:58] translatable

[00:44:58] to the

[00:44:59] NBA

[00:45:00] so he

[00:45:01] moves his

[00:45:01] feet very

[00:45:02] well

[00:45:02] he's able

[00:45:03] to

[00:45:04] I wouldn't

[00:45:05] say mirror

[00:45:05] but use

[00:45:06] his length

[00:45:07] and his

[00:45:07] size

[00:45:08] and his

[00:45:09] physicality

[00:45:10] to not

[00:45:11] allow

[00:45:12] the

[00:45:13] offensive

[00:45:14] player to

[00:45:14] get to

[00:45:15] his line

[00:45:16] of where

[00:45:16] he wants

[00:45:17] to go

[00:45:17] to the

[00:45:17] basket

[00:45:18] he can

[00:45:18] bump

[00:45:19] them off

[00:45:19] and then

[00:45:20] use his

[00:45:20] length

[00:45:20] to deter

[00:45:22] the shot

[00:45:22] he has

[00:45:23] shown me

[00:45:23] some of

[00:45:24] those

[00:45:24] defensive

[00:45:25] chops

[00:45:26] that I

[00:45:30] promising

[00:45:30] is the

[00:45:32] emerging

[00:45:32] three-point

[00:45:33] shooter

[00:45:33] with the

[00:45:34] smooth

[00:45:34] mechanics

[00:45:35] now in

[00:45:36] the high

[00:45:37] school film

[00:45:38] that the

[00:45:39] mechanics

[00:45:39] I was like

[00:45:40] okay

[00:45:43] there's

[00:45:43] something

[00:45:43] there

[00:45:45] clearly he's

[00:45:46] worked on

[00:45:46] his shot

[00:45:47] clearly he's

[00:45:48] worked on

[00:45:48] his game

[00:45:49] the shot

[00:45:50] looks smoother

[00:45:50] on the

[00:45:51] release is

[00:45:52] a little bit

[00:45:53] higher

[00:45:53] and what

[00:45:55] I've seen

[00:45:55] is obviously

[00:45:56] it's a more

[00:45:57] effective shot

[00:45:57] than what it

[00:45:58] was even

[00:45:59] just like

[00:46:00] six seven

[00:46:01] months ago

[00:46:01] so with that

[00:46:02] being said

[00:46:03] I am I'm

[00:46:04] not saying

[00:46:04] that the

[00:46:05] three-point

[00:46:05] shot as

[00:46:06] of yet

[00:46:06] but what

[00:46:07] I've seen

[00:46:08] of his

[00:46:09] use of

[00:46:09] it so

[00:46:10] far

[00:46:10] I am

[00:46:11] buying that

[00:46:12] there is

[00:46:13] room for

[00:46:13] improvement

[00:46:14] and that

[00:46:15] excites me

[00:46:16] because he

[00:46:16] is shooting

[00:46:17] at 35%

[00:46:18] at this

[00:46:19] present time

[00:46:20] the other

[00:46:21] thing that is

[00:46:22] really good

[00:46:22] about this

[00:46:23] kid is that

[00:46:23] he has a

[00:46:24] high motor

[00:46:24] and he has

[00:46:26] relentless

[00:46:26] he is going

[00:46:28] to get you

[00:46:28] second chance

[00:46:29] points

[00:46:30] he's going

[00:46:31] to get

[00:46:32] offensive

[00:46:32] rebounds

[00:46:33] he doesn't

[00:46:34] get well

[00:46:35] on plays

[00:46:36] he's the type

[00:46:37] of guy where

[00:46:38] if they

[00:46:39] score the

[00:46:40] basketball

[00:46:42] in the

[00:46:42] backcourt

[00:46:43] and see if

[00:46:44] he can

[00:46:45] pick off

[00:46:45] a lazy pass

[00:46:46] to get

[00:46:47] an easy

[00:46:47] chickpe

[00:46:48] so these

[00:46:49] are all

[00:46:49] things I like

[00:46:50] about him

[00:46:50] he's just

[00:46:51] an annoyance

[00:46:52] which is

[00:46:53] great

[00:46:54] anytime you

[00:46:54] can be

[00:46:55] 6'11

[00:46:55] and you

[00:46:56] can be

[00:46:56] annoyed

[00:46:57] on the

[00:46:58] defensive

[00:46:58] end of

[00:46:59] the court

[00:47:01] fantastic

[00:47:03] what are

[00:47:03] his weaknesses

[00:47:04] two things

[00:47:06] he needs

[00:47:06] to add

[00:47:07] muscle

[00:47:07] I told you

[00:47:08] he's about

[00:47:08] 220 pounds

[00:47:09] might be

[00:47:10] being generous

[00:47:11] when I say

[00:47:11] he's 220

[00:47:12] but that's

[00:47:13] the report

[00:47:14] that they

[00:47:14] give us

[00:47:15] he's going

[00:47:16] to need

[00:47:16] to add some

[00:47:16] muscle

[00:47:17] to be able

[00:47:17] to compete

[00:47:18] in the paint

[00:47:18] obviously

[00:47:19] with the

[00:47:19] big boys

[00:47:20] in the

[00:47:20] NBA

[00:47:21] the other

[00:47:22] thing that

[00:47:22] I want

[00:47:23] to see

[00:47:23] is the

[00:47:24] free throw

[00:47:24] shooting

[00:47:25] consistency

[00:47:25] must be

[00:47:26] improved

[00:47:26] now

[00:47:29] you say

[00:47:30] why do you

[00:47:31] question

[00:47:31] three point

[00:47:32] shot

[00:47:32] it's because

[00:47:33] of this

[00:47:33] free throw

[00:47:34] shooting

[00:47:34] situation

[00:47:35] he's in

[00:47:35] the low

[00:47:36] 60s

[00:47:36] right down

[00:47:37] and I

[00:47:38] want to

[00:47:39] say it's

[00:47:39] a concentration

[00:47:40] issue

[00:47:41] it is

[00:47:42] not

[00:47:42] stroke

[00:47:43] related

[00:47:44] it is

[00:47:44] not

[00:47:44] mechanics

[00:47:45] it is

[00:47:46] literally

[00:47:47] in between

[00:47:48] the ears

[00:47:49] and

[00:47:51] once he

[00:47:51] fixes

[00:47:52] that

[00:47:53] or has

[00:47:54] some sort

[00:47:54] of bearing

[00:47:55] to the

[00:47:56] routine

[00:47:56] that he

[00:47:57] currently

[00:47:58] has

[00:47:58] maybe

[00:47:59] that will

[00:48:00] help his

[00:48:00] focus

[00:48:01] and that

[00:48:03] will help

[00:48:03] the free

[00:48:04] throw

[00:48:04] shooting

[00:48:04] because

[00:48:05] he can

[00:48:06] get

[00:48:07] so

[00:48:08] that's

[00:48:09] something

[00:48:09] that you

[00:48:09] want to

[00:48:09] see

[00:48:11] him

[00:48:12] kind of

[00:48:13] accentuate

[00:48:14] as he

[00:48:14] moves

[00:48:14] along

[00:48:15] in his

[00:48:15] development

[00:48:16] because

[00:48:17] right now

[00:48:17] the

[00:48:17] he has

[00:48:20] that reminds

[00:48:21] me a little

[00:48:21] bit of

[00:48:22] Bobby Portis

[00:48:23] with like

[00:48:23] the chaos

[00:48:24] defense

[00:48:25] you know

[00:48:25] like

[00:48:26] he

[00:48:26] Portis

[00:48:26] makes

[00:48:28] sometimes

[00:48:28] he makes

[00:48:29] really

[00:48:29] boneheaded

[00:48:30] plays

[00:48:30] but then

[00:48:31] he'll make

[00:48:32] some

[00:48:33] defensive

[00:48:33] stuff

[00:48:34] and you

[00:48:35] forget

[00:48:35] about

[00:48:35] the

[00:48:36] boneheaded

[00:48:36] play

[00:48:38] Asa

[00:48:38] Newell

[00:48:39] has a

[00:48:39] little

[00:48:39] bit

[00:48:39] in

[00:48:40] him

[00:48:40] he has

[00:48:41] a little

[00:48:42] bit of

[00:48:42] riverboat

[00:48:43] gambler

[00:48:43] in him

[00:48:44] he will

[00:48:45] gamble

[00:48:46] for a

[00:48:46] steal

[00:48:46] here and

[00:48:47] there

[00:48:47] I want

[00:48:49] him to

[00:48:49] understand

[00:48:50] that he's

[00:48:50] big

[00:48:51] that he's

[00:48:52] tall

[00:48:52] he's 6'11

[00:48:53] and sometimes

[00:48:54] he acts

[00:48:55] like he's

[00:48:55] 6'7

[00:48:57] that would

[00:48:58] be the

[00:48:58] one thing

[00:48:58] that I

[00:48:59] might

[00:48:59] change

[00:48:59] in his

[00:49:00] game

[00:49:00] but

[00:49:01] he's a

[00:49:01] talented

[00:49:02] kid

[00:49:02] and

[00:49:03] to

[00:49:03] me

[00:49:04] I

[00:49:05] think

[00:49:05] that he

[00:49:05] has

[00:49:05] a

[00:49:06] chance

[00:49:06] of

[00:49:06] being

[00:49:07] like

[00:49:07] a

[00:49:07] starting

[00:49:08] center

[00:49:08] or

[00:49:08] starting

[00:49:09] power

[00:49:09] forward

[00:49:10] in this

[00:49:10] league

[00:49:12] on the

[00:49:13] right

[00:49:13] team

[00:49:13] depending

[00:49:14] on the

[00:49:15] opportunities

[00:49:17] I can

[00:49:17] see this

[00:49:18] kid

[00:49:18] maybe

[00:49:19] sniffing

[00:49:20] around

[00:49:21] an

[00:49:21] all-star

[00:49:22] here and

[00:49:22] there

[00:49:22] personally

[00:49:23] if the

[00:49:24] shot

[00:49:24] is for

[00:49:25] real

[00:49:25] though

[00:49:25] I want

[00:49:26] to see

[00:49:26] more

[00:49:26] I want

[00:49:27] to see

[00:49:27] more

[00:49:28] data

[00:49:29] I need

[00:49:30] to see

[00:49:30] more

[00:49:30] games

[00:49:31] with him

[00:49:31] playing

[00:49:32] and I

[00:49:32] need

[00:49:33] to see

[00:49:33] him

[00:49:33] be

[00:49:34] in the

[00:49:35] highest

[00:49:35] level

[00:49:35] stakes

[00:49:36] games

[00:49:36] and see

[00:49:37] him

[00:49:37] being able

[00:49:38] to shoot

[00:49:38] that

[00:49:38] shot

[00:49:38] organically

[00:49:39] if he's

[00:49:40] doing that

[00:49:41] if he's

[00:49:42] letting it

[00:49:42] fly

[00:49:42] not thinking

[00:49:43] about it

[00:49:44] we might

[00:49:45] have

[00:49:45] something

[00:49:46] the next

[00:49:47] guy

[00:49:49] that I

[00:49:49] want to

[00:49:50] talk about

[00:49:50] is another

[00:49:51] big

[00:49:52] he is

[00:49:53] Derek

[00:49:54] Queen

[00:49:54] now

[00:49:55] Derek

[00:49:55] Queen

[00:49:57] has been

[00:49:58] moving up

[00:49:58] the draft

[00:49:59] board

[00:49:59] steadily

[00:50:00] I don't

[00:50:01] know if

[00:50:01] you kind

[00:50:02] of checked

[00:50:02] his whole

[00:50:03] scene out

[00:50:03] but let

[00:50:04] me break

[00:50:04] it down

[00:50:05] for you

[00:50:05] he's

[00:50:06] 6'10

[00:50:07] he's a

[00:50:07] center at

[00:50:08] Maryland

[00:50:08] he's

[00:50:09] averaging

[00:50:10] 16.7

[00:50:12] points a

[00:50:12] game

[00:50:13] 9.2

[00:50:14] rebounds

[00:50:15] a game

[00:50:15] and he's

[00:50:16] averaging

[00:50:17] 4.1

[00:50:18] assists

[00:50:19] a game

[00:50:21] he

[00:50:21] is a

[00:50:22] stat

[00:50:23] stuffer

[00:50:23] of the

[00:50:24] highest

[00:50:25] one

[00:50:25] he's

[00:50:26] an elite

[00:50:27] post

[00:50:27] scorer

[00:50:28] with

[00:50:28] like

[00:50:29] crazy

[00:50:29] footwork

[00:50:30] super

[00:50:31] advanced

[00:50:32] footwork

[00:50:34] for somebody

[00:50:35] this young

[00:50:35] he's an

[00:50:37] excellent

[00:50:37] passer

[00:50:38] for his

[00:50:38] size

[00:50:39] vision

[00:50:39] is great

[00:50:40] his

[00:50:41] anticipation

[00:50:43] of seeing

[00:50:45] a cutter

[00:50:45] is great

[00:50:46] he makes

[00:50:48] the game

[00:50:48] easier

[00:50:48] for his

[00:50:49] teammates

[00:50:49] and I

[00:50:50] love

[00:50:50] watching

[00:50:51] his

[00:50:51] tape

[00:50:52] it is

[00:50:52] some

[00:50:53] of the

[00:50:53] fun

[00:50:54] some

[00:50:54] of the

[00:50:55] fun

[00:50:55] stuff

[00:50:55] that I

[00:50:56] get

[00:50:56] to do

[00:50:56] is when

[00:50:57] I get

[00:50:58] to watch

[00:50:58] a Derrick

[00:50:59] Queen

[00:51:00] either

[00:51:00] 20 minute

[00:51:02] like breakdown

[00:51:02] tape or

[00:51:03] if I get

[00:51:04] to watch

[00:51:05] a whole

[00:51:05] game

[00:51:05] but he's

[00:51:07] always doing

[00:51:07] something

[00:51:08] right

[00:51:08] and if

[00:51:09] you use

[00:51:10] him as

[00:51:10] an

[00:51:10] offensive

[00:51:11] hub

[00:51:12] I know

[00:51:13] this in

[00:51:13] college

[00:51:14] sometimes

[00:51:14] the office

[00:51:14] gets

[00:51:15] really

[00:51:15] bogged

[00:51:16] down

[00:51:17] I would

[00:51:17] say the

[00:51:18] majority

[00:51:18] of the

[00:51:19] time

[00:51:19] if they

[00:51:20] got

[00:51:20] Derrick

[00:51:21] Queen

[00:51:21] involved

[00:51:21] they got

[00:51:22] a good

[00:51:23] shot

[00:51:24] and that

[00:51:24] bodes well

[00:51:25] for him

[00:51:25] because that

[00:51:27] means that

[00:51:27] there's quick

[00:51:28] decision

[00:51:28] making

[00:51:29] going on

[00:51:30] there's

[00:51:31] next level

[00:51:32] processing

[00:51:33] going on

[00:51:34] inside that

[00:51:35] head of

[00:51:35] his

[00:51:36] and you

[00:51:36] see it

[00:51:37] all the

[00:51:38] time

[00:51:38] all the

[00:51:39] time

[00:51:39] if you

[00:51:40] put

[00:51:40] tape

[00:51:40] Derrick

[00:51:41] Queen

[00:51:41] is making

[00:51:42] the right

[00:51:42] pass

[00:51:43] he's

[00:51:44] making

[00:51:44] the right

[00:51:45] play

[00:51:45] and he's

[00:51:46] big as

[00:51:47] shit

[00:51:47] and he's

[00:51:48] physical

[00:51:49] as hell

[00:51:50] weakness

[00:51:51] is limited

[00:51:52] defensively

[00:51:53] versatile

[00:51:54] now he's

[00:51:54] a big

[00:51:55] he's not

[00:51:55] going to

[00:51:56] be able

[00:51:56] to switch

[00:51:56] out

[00:51:56] to the

[00:51:57] other

[00:51:57] guys

[00:51:57] he's

[00:51:58] more

[00:51:58] of a

[00:51:58] drop

[00:51:58] center

[00:51:59] type

[00:51:59] of

[00:51:59] dude

[00:51:59] now

[00:52:00] the

[00:52:01] perimeter

[00:52:01] shooting

[00:52:01] remains

[00:52:02] a question

[00:52:03] mark

[00:52:03] for him

[00:52:03] that's

[00:52:04] going to

[00:52:04] be a

[00:52:05] problem

[00:52:05] because

[00:52:06] I

[00:52:06] think

[00:52:08] for him

[00:52:08] to be

[00:52:09] more

[00:52:11] than

[00:52:11] a

[00:52:12] back

[00:52:12] big

[00:52:13] in

[00:52:15] something

[00:52:16] is

[00:52:16] going to

[00:52:16] have

[00:52:17] to

[00:52:17] push

[00:52:17] forward

[00:52:18] either

[00:52:20] he's

[00:52:20] going to

[00:52:45] have

[00:52:46] if the

[00:52:47] perimeter

[00:52:47] shooting

[00:52:48] doesn't

[00:52:48] come

[00:52:48] around

[00:52:48] you

[00:52:49] got a

[00:52:49] really

[00:52:49] solid

[00:52:50] backup

[00:52:50] big

[00:52:50] for a

[00:52:51] long

[00:52:51] period

[00:52:51] of time

[00:52:51] so

[00:52:52] it

[00:52:53] depends

[00:52:53] on what

[00:52:54] he's

[00:52:54] going to

[00:52:54] do

[00:52:56] the

[00:52:56] next

[00:52:57] guy

[00:52:57] that

[00:52:57] I

[00:52:57] want

[00:52:58] to

[00:52:58] talk

[00:52:58] about

[00:52:58] who

[00:52:58] is

[00:52:59] also

[00:52:59] streaming

[00:52:59] up

[00:53:00] the

[00:53:00] draft

[00:53:00] boards

[00:53:01] is

[00:53:01] Thomas

[00:53:02] Sorber

[00:53:02] and

[00:53:03] Thomas

[00:53:04] Sorber

[00:53:04] is

[00:53:04] out

[00:53:04] of

[00:53:05] Georgetown

[00:53:05] he's

[00:53:06] 6'10

[00:53:07] he's

[00:53:08] averaging

[00:53:08] 15.1

[00:53:09] points a

[00:53:10] game

[00:53:10] he's

[00:53:11] healing

[00:53:12] 10.4

[00:53:13] boards

[00:53:14] a game

[00:53:15] remember

[00:53:16] in college

[00:53:17] basketball

[00:53:18] they only

[00:53:19] play

[00:53:19] 40

[00:53:20] minutes

[00:53:21] okay

[00:53:22] he's

[00:53:23] also

[00:53:23] averaging

[00:53:24] 2.8

[00:53:25] blocks

[00:53:25] a game

[00:53:25] as well

[00:53:26] so

[00:53:26] holding

[00:53:27] on to

[00:53:28] the

[00:53:28] standard

[00:53:29] that is

[00:53:30] Georgetown

[00:53:30] basketball

[00:53:31] if

[00:53:33] you

[00:53:33] are

[00:53:34] new

[00:53:34] to

[00:53:36] this

[00:53:36] podcast

[00:53:36] you know

[00:53:37] that

[00:53:38] I am

[00:53:38] old

[00:53:39] as

[00:53:39] hell

[00:53:39] so

[00:53:40] I

[00:53:40] remember

[00:53:41] Patrick

[00:53:42] Ewing

[00:53:42] sleep

[00:53:43] playing

[00:53:43] for

[00:53:44] Georgetown

[00:53:44] I

[00:53:46] remember

[00:53:46] Alonzo

[00:53:47] Mourning

[00:53:48] and

[00:53:48] Dikembe

[00:53:48] Mutombo

[00:53:49] at the

[00:53:49] same

[00:53:50] time

[00:53:50] playing

[00:53:51] for

[00:53:51] Georgetown

[00:53:52] it's

[00:53:53] good

[00:53:53] to

[00:53:53] see

[00:53:53] that

[00:53:54] Thomas

[00:53:54] Orwell

[00:53:55] is

[00:53:55] bringing

[00:53:56] the

[00:53:57] tradition

[00:53:57] of

[00:53:58] the

[00:53:58] really

[00:53:59] skilled

[00:53:59] big

[00:54:00] man

[00:54:00] back

[00:54:01] to

[00:54:01] Georgetown

[00:54:01] University

[00:54:03] let's

[00:54:04] get into

[00:54:05] what he

[00:54:06] is

[00:54:06] he's

[00:54:08] a

[00:54:08] dominant

[00:54:08] protector

[00:54:09] with

[00:54:10] elite

[00:54:12] he's

[00:54:12] a

[00:54:13] really

[00:54:13] efficient

[00:54:14] interior

[00:54:15] scorer

[00:54:15] he has

[00:54:16] a high

[00:54:17] motor

[00:54:18] and

[00:54:18] he's

[00:54:19] a

[00:54:19] rebounding

[00:54:20] physical

[00:54:20] presence

[00:54:21] like

[00:54:22] you

[00:54:22] feel

[00:54:22] him

[00:54:23] you

[00:54:23] feel

[00:54:23] his

[00:54:24] impact

[00:54:24] when

[00:54:25] he's

[00:54:25] in

[00:54:25] the

[00:54:25] game

[00:54:27] as

[00:54:27] a

[00:54:27] guy

[00:54:28] who

[00:54:28] can

[00:54:28] switch

[00:54:28] on

[00:54:28] to

[00:54:29] smaller

[00:54:29] players

[00:54:29] that

[00:54:29] is

[00:54:30] not

[00:54:30] his

[00:54:30] specialty

[00:54:31] that

[00:54:32] is

[00:54:32] not

[00:54:32] something

[00:54:32] that

[00:54:33] you

[00:54:33] should

[00:54:33] ask

[00:54:33] him

[00:54:33] to

[00:54:34] do

[00:54:34] because

[00:54:35] he

[00:54:35] is

[00:54:35] a

[00:54:36] weakness

[00:54:37] to

[00:54:37] his

[00:54:37] game

[00:54:37] he

[00:54:38] does

[00:54:38] need

[00:54:39] to

[00:54:39] develop

[00:54:40] something

[00:54:40] else

[00:54:40] than

[00:54:47] I

[00:54:47] don't

[00:54:47] ever

[00:54:48] see

[00:54:48] him

[00:54:48] being

[00:54:49] like

[00:54:50] a

[00:54:50] stretch

[00:54:50] but

[00:54:52] as

[00:54:53] a

[00:54:53] rim

[00:54:54] roller

[00:54:54] as

[00:54:55] somebody

[00:54:55] who

[00:54:56] has

[00:54:56] really

[00:54:57] nice

[00:54:57] touch

[00:54:57] around

[00:54:58] if

[00:54:58] he

[00:54:59] gets

[00:54:59] an

[00:54:59] offensive

[00:55:00] board

[00:55:00] and

[00:55:02] there

[00:55:02] are

[00:55:03] bodies

[00:55:03] around

[00:55:04] him

[00:55:04] he'll

[00:55:04] find a

[00:55:05] way to

[00:55:05] get

[00:55:05] the

[00:55:17] quarters

[00:55:17] underneath

[00:55:18] the

[00:55:19] basket

[00:55:19] whatsoever

[00:55:19] he

[00:55:20] finds

[00:55:21] a

[00:55:21] way

[00:55:21] to

[00:55:21] be

[00:55:21] able

[00:55:22] to

[00:55:22] use

[00:55:22] his

[00:55:22] strength

[00:55:23] and

[00:55:23] his

[00:55:23] bulk

[00:55:23] to

[00:55:24] get

[00:55:24] himself

[00:55:25] some

[00:55:25] space

[00:55:26] and

[00:55:26] then

[00:55:26] be

[00:55:26] able

[00:55:27] to

[00:55:27] go

[00:55:27] up

[00:55:27] with

[00:55:27] the

[00:55:27] shot

[00:55:28] but

[00:55:29] he

[00:55:29] definitely

[00:55:30] needs

[00:55:31] to

[00:55:31] stretch

[00:55:32] out

[00:55:32] the

[00:55:32] range

[00:55:33] a

[00:55:33] little

[00:55:33] bit

[00:55:34] come

[00:55:35] out

[00:55:35] to

[00:55:35] about

[00:55:36] 15

[00:55:36] feet

[00:55:37] to

[00:55:38] where

[00:55:38] the

[00:55:38] free

[00:55:38] throw

[00:55:38] line

[00:55:38] is

[00:55:39] and

[00:55:39] then

[00:55:40] we

[00:55:41] might

[00:55:41] be

[00:55:41] able

[00:55:41] to

[00:55:41] see

[00:55:42] other

[00:55:42] parts

[00:55:43] of his

[00:55:43] game

[00:55:43] open

[00:55:45] but

[00:56:14] I

[00:56:15] is

[00:56:16] a

[00:56:17] 6'9

[00:56:17] forward

[00:56:18] out of

[00:56:18] St.

[00:56:19] Joe's

[00:56:20] now

[00:56:21] the

[00:56:21] reason

[00:56:21] why

[00:56:22] I

[00:56:22] want

[00:56:22] to

[00:56:22] talk

[00:56:22] about

[00:56:22] him

[00:56:23] is

[00:56:23] this

[00:56:24] is

[00:56:24] that

[00:56:24] he's

[00:56:24] a

[00:56:25] three

[00:56:25] year

[00:56:25] and

[00:56:45] he's

[00:56:46] put

[00:56:47] together

[00:56:48] but

[00:56:49] some

[00:56:49] of

[00:56:49] this

[00:56:50] stuff

[00:56:50] we

[00:56:50] had

[00:56:50] seen

[00:56:50] early

[00:56:51] and

[00:56:52] it

[00:56:52] seems

[00:56:52] like

[00:56:52] this

[00:56:53] year

[00:56:53] he's

[00:56:54] got

[00:56:54] more

[00:56:54] opportunities

[00:56:55] and

[00:56:56] he's

[00:56:56] taking

[00:56:56] complete

[00:56:57] advantage

[00:56:59] of the

[00:56:59] opportunities

[00:57:00] that he's

[00:57:01] been given

[00:57:01] so

[00:57:02] Rashear

[00:57:03] Fleming

[00:57:03] is a

[00:57:04] 6'9

[00:57:04] forward

[00:57:05] he's

[00:57:06] shooting

[00:57:06] 40.9%

[00:57:09] from

[00:57:09] three

[00:57:10] and he's

[00:57:11] averaging

[00:57:11] 15 points

[00:57:12] a game

[00:57:13] now

[00:57:14] his

[00:57:14] strengths

[00:57:14] are

[00:57:15] he's

[00:57:15] a

[00:57:15] three

[00:57:15] level

[00:57:16] scorer

[00:57:16] with

[00:57:17] emphasis

[00:57:18] on

[00:57:18] catch

[00:57:18] and

[00:57:18] shoot

[00:57:19] so

[00:57:20] corner

[00:57:20] three

[00:57:21] top

[00:57:21] of

[00:57:22] the

[00:57:22] break

[00:57:22] three

[00:57:22] he

[00:57:23] knocks

[00:57:23] it

[00:57:23] down

[00:57:24] if

[00:57:24] you

[00:57:24] just

[00:57:25] feed

[00:57:25] it

[00:57:25] to

[00:57:25] him

[00:57:25] he

[00:57:26] has

[00:57:27] defensive

[00:57:27] versatility

[00:57:28] that means

[00:57:29] that he

[00:57:29] can guard

[00:57:29] three

[00:57:30] through

[00:57:30] five

[00:57:31] now

[00:57:32] his

[00:57:33] weaknesses

[00:57:33] are

[00:57:34] he

[00:57:34] needs

[00:57:34] to

[00:57:35] refine

[00:57:35] off

[00:57:35] ball

[00:57:36] defense

[00:57:36] he

[00:57:36] gets

[00:57:37] lost

[00:57:37] sometimes

[00:57:38] okay

[00:57:39] he

[00:57:39] can

[00:57:40] miss

[00:57:40] an assignment

[00:57:41] here

[00:57:41] and

[00:57:41] there

[00:57:42] now

[00:57:43] also

[00:57:43] he

[00:57:44] is

[00:57:44] not

[00:57:44] the

[00:57:44] type

[00:57:44] of

[00:57:45] guy

[00:57:45] who's

[00:57:45] going

[00:57:45] to be

[00:57:45] able

[00:57:46] to

[00:57:46] put

[00:57:46] it

[00:57:46] on

[00:57:46] the

[00:57:46] floor

[00:57:47] and

[00:57:48] get

[00:57:48] his

[00:57:49] shot

[00:57:49] he

[00:57:49] needs

[00:57:50] to

[00:57:50] be

[00:57:50] with

[00:57:51] an

[00:57:51] expert

[00:57:53] shot

[00:57:53] creation

[00:57:54] guy

[00:57:54] a la

[00:57:55] K

[00:57:56] somebody

[00:57:57] like

[00:57:57] that

[00:57:57] he

[00:57:58] needs

[00:57:58] to be

[00:57:59] with

[00:58:12] he

[00:58:12] he

[00:58:13] knock

[00:58:13] knock

[00:58:13] down

[00:58:13] his

[00:58:13] catch

[00:58:14] and

[00:58:14] shoot

[00:58:14] numbers

[00:58:14] are

[00:58:15] in

[00:58:15] the

[00:58:16] 93

[00:58:17] percentile

[00:58:18] so

[00:58:18] he's

[00:58:19] he's

[00:58:20] devastating

[00:58:20] when it

[00:58:21] comes

[00:58:21] to

[00:58:21] them

[00:58:21] his

[00:58:22] pull

[00:58:23] up

[00:58:23] three

[00:58:23] pointers

[00:58:24] are

[00:58:25] in

[00:58:25] the

[00:58:25] 82nd

[00:58:26] percentile

[00:58:27] So he is really a catch and shoot three guy, but he moves his feet.

[00:58:35] He gives you rebounding.

[00:58:36] He gives you a rim protection.

[00:58:40] He also gives you anticipation on the defensive end where he can get into the passing lane.

[00:58:46] There's a lot that he offers on both sides of the wall.

[00:58:50] He seems to be really heady.

[00:58:51] I like him a lot.

[00:58:54] There were some parts of his tape that there were some things where I'm not going to even say it because the other guy who he reminds me of a little bit is somebody who also got hurt earlier this year with a real catastrophic injury.

[00:59:10] But I'll say he's a stretch four with two-way potential, and you know what that means.

[00:59:16] Those guys stay in the league for a long time and get paid.

[00:59:19] Those are your 28 to 32 million dollar a year dudes, and he seems to be one of them.

[00:59:28] But we love him a lot.

[00:59:30] His tape was real fun.

[00:59:31] So if you haven't caught a St. Joe's game, Rashear Fleming, St. Joe's, I would tell you.

[00:59:40] French Kiss must watch because he gets it.

[00:59:45] He knows his role.

[00:59:46] He understands it.

[00:59:48] He does a little bit outside his role, but he doesn't do too much where it's a detriment to the offense or a detriment to the defense.

[00:59:57] But real, real good prospect and somebody that if you got him like at 22 in the draft or something like that, this is the type of guy that you go, we just hit.

[01:00:11] We hit.

[01:00:13] And we hit late.

[01:00:15] Like if you are a team that has two picks.

[01:00:19] And you want to take a big swing early.

[01:00:22] And you got you thinking later in the draft.

[01:00:25] Rashear Fleming is a nice backup plan.

[01:00:28] If for some reason your first guy flames out, because I don't think this guy is going to miss.

[01:00:35] And I think you're going to get immediate production.

[01:00:39] And you're going to see not ebbs and flows to a game, but you're going to see development like in the shooting.

[01:00:46] And I think you're going to see develop in the rebounding and on the defensive side.

[01:00:52] I think he's going to bring a lot of value to any team that he goes to.

[01:00:57] Big fan of Rashear Fleming.

[01:01:00] Now, the next guy that I want to get to is Boogie Flan.

[01:01:05] Boogie Flan is a six foot two point guard out of Arkansas.

[01:01:09] If you remember, we talked about Boogie Flan, I want to say in the summer.

[01:01:14] And he was outstanding as far as just elite speed.

[01:01:20] He can stop on a dime and make somebody look silly.

[01:01:25] But now as I've broken down the tape, here's a couple of things that I found out.

[01:01:30] He has elite playmaking ability, not just for himself, but for others.

[01:01:35] And his decision making is one of the best I've seen.

[01:01:39] And when I'm saying best I've seen, I'm talking about for the college level.

[01:01:43] But his processing is really good.

[01:01:45] And I'm always really interested in the guy who makes six foot two on the smaller side when they are seeing the game and how they see.

[01:01:55] And he has such an ability to understand, OK, it's almost like he's it's almost like he's a.

[01:02:05] Like he's using radar to find people, because sometimes I don't even think he necessarily really sees the guy.

[01:02:14] He's just throwing it to a spot where in practice that guy was there.

[01:02:21] And he hits him right on the button.

[01:02:24] Boom, shot goes up or he it's a nice cutting situation where he'll throw a bounce pass and the guy is right there.

[01:02:31] And it's just easy layup.

[01:02:32] He does it all the time.

[01:02:33] I've seen I've seen it so many times in some of these games with him.

[01:02:37] So he's a consistent shooter both on and off the ball, which is great because if you have a big playmaker.

[01:02:45] Bringing Boogie Flan off the bench and have him just go nuclear, you can see that.

[01:02:52] The great thing about him is that he moves off ball.

[01:02:56] He's not just a guy who just stand there and go, OK, I don't have the ball.

[01:03:00] So what I'm going to do right now, just chill out here above the break, you know, by the three point line.

[01:03:06] If they get in trouble, then I'll go ahead and turn on my superpowers.

[01:03:11] No.

[01:03:12] He's moving around.

[01:03:14] He's creating motion.

[01:03:16] He will into paint and then dip to the point and then come back to the above the break three.

[01:03:23] There's a lot of things that he does on just fluid motion, perpetual motion.

[01:03:29] I love Boogie Flan when it comes to that.

[01:03:33] Now, obviously, some of the weaknesses that he has in this game, he's not tall.

[01:03:38] He's six foot two.

[01:03:39] Now, people will say his athleticism is not up to par.

[01:03:46] I don't know about that.

[01:03:47] Like his cardio is fantastic.

[01:03:49] Can he jump out the building?

[01:03:51] Is he Scoot Henderson?

[01:03:52] No.

[01:03:52] But his hand-eye coordination is brilliant.

[01:03:56] And his passing and his anticipation on what the defenses are trying to do to him and what they're trying to do to necessarily get him off his spot.

[01:04:10] He knows that.

[01:04:12] He knows what your counter is.

[01:04:14] He has a counter to the count.

[01:04:17] And I like that about him.

[01:04:21] But his game reminds me a little bit of Kimball Walker.

[01:04:26] So, that's what we're talking about here.

[01:04:30] And I think that he could be a backup guard in the NBA for a long period of time.

[01:04:36] And he's one of those guys that...

[01:04:38] Tyus Jones.

[01:04:40] There you go.

[01:04:41] Tyus Jones.

[01:04:42] This is the professional arc for Boogie Flan.

[01:04:46] If he takes care of the basketball, which he does, because he's 6.2 assists a game.

[01:04:53] And his turnover ratio is 3.27 to 1 assist to turnover ratio at this point in time.

[01:05:04] So, he takes very good care of the basketball.

[01:05:08] He knows where his teammates are instinctually.

[01:05:12] Almost like second hand.

[01:05:14] And then he's able to get to the spots on the court with just constant movement.

[01:05:21] And his ability to be able to stop on a dime.

[01:05:24] He can lose a defender and make you look silly at any point in time.

[01:05:29] Boogie Flan is one of those guys that I think definitely is going to be a first round draft pick.

[01:05:34] I think right now you could see him somewhere outside the lottery.

[01:05:39] Depending on how the year goes for him.

[01:05:42] In the sense of...

[01:05:43] Does Arkansas make a big run?

[01:05:46] The tournament...

[01:05:47] What kind of impact does he have?

[01:05:49] We'll have a real determination on where he ends up in the draft.

[01:05:53] Now, his pre-draft workouts will be important.

[01:05:58] I think his individual workouts will be very important.

[01:06:02] But he's going to need to show some toughness in some of these tournament games.

[01:06:07] At least he's a gritty defender.

[01:06:09] That he's not just a sieve.

[01:06:11] I think that will help him a lot on where he might actually end up going.

[01:06:17] Because here's a...

[01:06:19] Talk about a 6'2 guard.

[01:06:22] You have to be super special.

[01:06:25] So, if you're not super special...

[01:06:28] You go from maybe getting drafted at 18...

[01:06:32] To getting drafted at 28.

[01:06:34] Just like that.

[01:06:36] So, Boogie Flan is an intriguing prospect.

[01:06:41] There's some things to work on.

[01:06:42] But the one thing that you can't work on is being a 6'2...

[01:06:46] And being basically about a buck 73.

[01:06:49] So, he's going to have to get in the weight room.

[01:06:52] But...

[01:06:53] Just the offensive skill set...

[01:06:55] Is so intriguing to me that I would love to see...

[01:06:58] A late...

[01:07:00] First round...

[01:07:02] Team take a chance on help.

[01:07:04] With that being said...

[01:07:06] What I want to do is...

[01:07:07] I want to thank Soraya.

[01:07:09] Man...

[01:07:09] The behind the scenes work...

[01:07:12] Before we go...

[01:07:14] The behind the scenes work that goes on here...

[01:07:17] Is...

[01:07:19] We are...

[01:07:20] We have a draft board.

[01:07:22] And it's something that I put together yesterday...

[01:07:25] Or not yesterday...

[01:07:26] Over a period of time...

[01:07:27] With notes that I've gotten...

[01:07:29] By talking to people...

[01:07:30] Notes that I've written...

[01:07:31] By watching video...

[01:07:33] Watching tape on these guys...

[01:07:34] I have a complete dossier on like 45 guys now...

[01:07:38] With a little area where I can put little...

[01:07:41] Added notes...

[01:07:42] When I see things pop up...

[01:07:44] And...

[01:07:44] Things arise...

[01:07:46] In their situation...

[01:07:47] That maybe might change a little...

[01:07:49] Their scouting report or whatever...

[01:07:51] But...

[01:07:52] The effort that went into that...

[01:07:54] The timeless hours that went into that...

[01:07:56] I want to thank Soraya...

[01:07:57] For all the work that she has done...

[01:08:00] Behind the scenes with this...

[01:08:01] Thank you Soraya for everything you do...

[01:08:04] And then...

[01:08:05] Again...

[01:08:06] We love this...

[01:08:07] We love...

[01:08:09] Looking into these guys...

[01:08:11] Getting into the tape...

[01:08:13] Talking to people...

[01:08:15] And trying to get you a little bit...

[01:08:17] Of a clear picture...

[01:08:19] About guys that...

[01:08:21] Yeah...

[01:08:22] You see a lot of Dylan Harper highlights...

[01:08:25] For sure...

[01:08:26] And you're gonna see a lot of...

[01:08:28] Cougar Flag...

[01:08:29] And...

[01:08:29] Con Canupel...

[01:08:31] And...

[01:08:31] Ace Bailey...

[01:08:32] And people like...

[01:08:33] Trey Johnson...

[01:08:36] And I'm not saying that these guys are no names...

[01:08:38] Or anything like that...

[01:08:39] These are...

[01:08:40] I mean...

[01:08:40] A couple of these guys we talked about...

[01:08:42] Are...

[01:08:42] I highlight...
