[00:00:14] It's Wednesday, you know what time it is, Front Runner Podcast Collective is back on your air and it is your host Vince.
[00:00:22] I am humbly here to talk about the NBA Finals, the predictions, how we think it's gonna go,
[00:00:32] then we'll get into some news and notes.
[00:00:34] But before we do all that, two things that we need to get to, the socials. First off,
[00:00:42] be a friend, tell a friend about the podcast.
[00:00:46] Make sure you're downloading the podcast.
[00:00:49] I got a cool five-star rating the other day.
[00:00:53] Those are nice to get have so
[00:00:57] You can get Front Runner Podcast Collective on all major
[00:01:01] podcast platforms.
[00:01:03] Now the YouTube channel,
[00:01:05] Front Runner Podcast Collective on YouTube, it has clips from the shows, what have you.
[00:01:12] We will be talking about a clip that we have posted a
[00:01:17] couple weeks back and it has some newsworthy situations going on today
[00:01:23] later in the podcast, but
[00:01:26] the other thing that goes along with this is that comment, share,
[00:01:32] like,
[00:01:33] subscribe to the channel.
[00:01:35] The reason why I ask these things is that we are trying to grow.
[00:01:39] We are a humble, independent
[00:01:43] podcast and all the help that we can get is greatly appreciated.
[00:01:49] So thank you so much.
[00:01:51] And then that leaves us with X.
[00:01:54] At Front Runner PC.
[00:02:00] Let's say that again so everybody can hear it clearly.
[00:02:03] At Front Runner PC and then do not forget the producer, the greatest producer of
[00:02:10] all sports podcasts at
[00:02:13] BFunch FRPC.
[00:02:17] Hit us both up.
[00:02:19] Drop maybe some
[00:02:21] some thoughts about the podcast or
[00:02:24] also what you might want to see on the podcast or whatever the case may be. We are open to
[00:02:32] audience participation.
[00:02:34] So
[00:02:35] with all that being out of the way, let's get to the NBA finals now. We're here. We're finally here and
[00:02:42] the first thing that we need to talk about is that we got the Dallas Mavericks in the Boston Celtics in this finals
[00:02:48] obviously you have the
[00:02:51] the main thing with that, you know, Boston going for their
[00:02:56] 18th title.
[00:02:59] You know, so we don't get into storylines in a second
[00:03:03] They both took different routes on getting here, right?
[00:03:07] The Celtics I think we talked about all through you know, they had just very
[00:03:13] you know
[00:03:14] however
[00:03:14] you want to look at it if you're looking at it for the pure hoop heads out there their role was less challenged, right?
[00:03:25] They had a situation where you had injuries throughout with the different teams and the different star players
[00:03:32] and then you have Dallas on the other hand who has to go
[00:03:37] through a Clipper team
[00:03:39] who lost Kawhi.
[00:03:42] They went through
[00:03:45] an OKC team, right? And
[00:03:49] then they went through
[00:03:52] the Minnesota Timberwolves.
[00:03:54] So let's get to the to the NBA finals storylines.
[00:03:57] The first one that we need to get to is the most obvious. It's the Kyrie return to Boston.
[00:04:04] To me, this is not a revenge factor type situation. We're gonna come at this from the
[00:04:11] most surprising way of all and
[00:04:16] to me I think
[00:04:18] the Celtics cannot sit here and
[00:04:21] allow both Luca or Kyrie
[00:04:26] to just get off whenever they want.
[00:04:29] They're gonna have to stop one of them.
[00:04:32] My bet is that they try to do that with Kyrie.
[00:04:35] The reason why I think that is is because of the fact that you know, he's a smaller guard
[00:04:41] He stands at 6'2", 6'3". The other thing is this
[00:04:45] if you look at Kyrie
[00:04:48] and you look at
[00:04:51] the analytical process of Kyrie
[00:04:55] 14.2 of his
[00:04:58] 25.6 points that he averages are from
[00:05:04] three-pointers, layups, and free throws.
[00:05:09] So our guy is pretty analytically sound
[00:05:14] and
[00:05:16] what also Kyrie is now
[00:05:19] and I think a lot of people, I don't know if a lot of people really realize this
[00:05:24] but he's a second side initiator now.
[00:05:27] With Luca handling ball most of the time for the Dallas Mavericks
[00:05:32] you usually come up with two versions of the story. You either blitz Luca on the pick and roll
[00:05:40] which then he kicks it out to whoever the outlet person is who will
[00:05:46] immediately get it to Kyrie
[00:05:48] then they will go into some sort of action or Kyrie will just
[00:05:53] tremendously get downhill because his angles and his
[00:05:58] English with his layups with either hand his lefty is
[00:06:03] crazy accurate
[00:06:05] and
[00:06:07] it's one of those things that you have to decide on what you're gonna do.
[00:06:12] Now
[00:06:16] again 14.2 points
[00:06:18] out of 25.6 are coming off threes, layups, and free throws.
[00:06:25] What this is telling me is that Luca has figured out
[00:06:30] how people have wanted to guard him and then has been able to put his weapons in the most optimal position possible.
[00:06:39] Derek Lively who is a rookie who absolutely has been
[00:06:45] transformative for the Dallas Mavericks throughout this series
[00:06:49] throughout this playoffs and
[00:06:51] now is gonna be imperative in this series. He was perfect in
[00:06:57] the last series.
[00:06:59] Like he shot from his field goals. Yes, they were lobbed but he was perfect
[00:07:05] and we'll get to him more later when we start breaking everything down.
[00:07:09] But you know, I just wanted to comment make mention of how
[00:07:13] Luca wants to play and then how Boston might look to kind of stop them.
[00:07:21] Boston is the best in the league at deterring corner threes.
[00:07:27] Team shoot the worst percentage in the league against them.
[00:07:32] This is something that Luca is absolutely adept at. So this is the cat-and-mouse game within the
[00:07:39] however long the series goes. So if it's a six seven game series,
[00:07:43] you know, these are the adjustments and how do you spring open those locks
[00:07:50] on the defense or on the offense so you can go ahead and get a better outcome for your team.
[00:07:57] Then we need to get into
[00:08:00] like yo, we have you talked about Boston defense. What's up?
[00:08:03] You know, I know you're a Laker fan, but you gonna talk about our guy? We're gonna talk about our guys. What's up?
[00:08:11] I got you, right?
[00:08:13] Well,
[00:08:15] the series is also based on Jason Tatum and Luca Donch is the young ascending stars
[00:08:22] going to war so
[00:08:24] we got a little kind of Captain America, what? Captain America
[00:08:30] Tony Stark action civil war type thing going on.
[00:08:34] Great thing is also
[00:08:36] one guy is from Slovenia. The other guy is from the United States of America.
[00:08:44] Can't get any better than this.
[00:08:47] Luca obviously is one of the most competitive guys that we've seen
[00:08:53] come into the league in quite some time. One thing that we might have missed,
[00:08:59] I don't know if we misinterpreted or we just misread the situation, but
[00:09:04] we thought that Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves had really kind of unlocked that
[00:09:12] final level of competitiveness
[00:09:15] which you know, there's levels to this and Luca showed them in that in that clip
[00:09:21] in that closeout game what it's supposed to look like when you're really really dominant.
[00:09:28] Now,
[00:09:30] Luca in this matchup is obviously the people's champion when we when we're talking on podcasts when you are
[00:09:39] watching the NBA today or
[00:09:41] whomever you like to watch or listen to or consume as far as
[00:09:47] knowledge for your
[00:09:49] you know, your whatever your hoop IQ is right.
[00:09:55] Obviously Luca is gonna get more of the shine. He's the better player in this series.
[00:10:00] There's no doubt who the best player in this series is.
[00:10:04] Now Jason Tatum has a chance to maybe right some wrongs here and
[00:10:11] prove to people that maybe he is
[00:10:14] closer to Luca than we have given him credit for.
[00:10:21] We'll get into that a little bit later, but these are some of the storylines that are out there.
[00:10:27] Oh by the way,
[00:10:29] when I call Luca the people's champ, here's the one thing.
[00:10:33] I want to do say I want to apologize to Dwayne The Rock Johnson
[00:10:38] but he is also being known as the final boss now
[00:10:42] So I think the copyright infringement slide by is very choice on my part because
[00:10:50] I'm not trying to go up against The Rock. All right, he's like 6'5",
[00:10:55] like 280. I don't want no part of that.
[00:10:59] Smart.
[00:11:01] Alright, um next thing.
[00:11:04] The worry with Tatum is this and this is the thing that has reared his ugly head
[00:11:10] throughout the
[00:11:14] The playoffs is those those
[00:11:17] say it with me guys say it with me Celtics fans the step back threes.
[00:11:24] He's shooting 29% from three-point land
[00:11:29] in this playoff season.
[00:11:31] Now I will tell you that there is a positive to that.
[00:11:36] So there's a yin and then there's a yang.
[00:11:39] He's also averaging just about eight free throws a game.
[00:11:42] I believe with 7.8 to be exact if you want to go right there.
[00:11:47] But what I am telling you is that just to tell them there has been a
[00:11:53] at least an acknowledgement that he needs to go to the hole more.
[00:11:58] It seems to have the light has gone on now.
[00:12:03] I don't know because of maybe the
[00:12:07] the tier of talent he was playing that he felt so free to do those things or was it that
[00:12:13] he understood at this point in time that it is winning time.
[00:12:18] We must go and get it and
[00:12:21] I must
[00:12:23] be more aggressive in my game.
[00:12:25] I'm hoping it's the latter and it's not just something he
[00:12:30] played to the tier of his talents just felt free.
[00:12:36] The other thing that's going up against Tatum is this.
[00:12:40] Luca has such a fiery personality.
[00:12:44] He has a flair for the dramatic with his shot making
[00:12:48] in some of the angles that he can get in.
[00:12:50] He's just a more creative scorer than Jason Tatum.
[00:12:55] Jason Tatum was just not a flashy player.
[00:12:59] Yeah, he'll throw down a ferocious dunk here and there.
[00:13:03] But he's fundamental guy.
[00:13:07] Get into his fundamentals.
[00:13:08] It's not real pay.
[00:13:11] It's not Kyrie bag.
[00:13:15] We look at Kyrie's dribble package with childlike wonderment
[00:13:22] and I'm 51 years of age.
[00:13:25] Right?
[00:13:27] Because the dedication the time it took.
[00:13:32] It's beautiful to watch is balletic in its nature the
[00:13:39] movements the angles that he could get into the acceleration
[00:13:44] the deceleration and the handle and the command of his
[00:13:49] handle through the whole time is truly one of the greatest
[00:13:55] things we have seen in this.
[00:13:59] You know as I've been watching basketball, there's not I
[00:14:03] think there may be two or three other guys that we can
[00:14:05] say that might come close to this dudes handle but really
[00:14:11] Kyrie to me is the king of handles at this point.
[00:14:16] Um, so it's it's not that Jason Tatum shouldn't get his
[00:14:23] flowers.
[00:14:23] It's not that Jason Tatum is not worthy of these type of
[00:14:26] things.
[00:14:26] It says that Jason Tatum was born right?
[00:14:31] He's not a flashy you don't have the imagination of
[00:14:35] Luca Luca also has that kind of fiery, you know,
[00:14:39] like I also annoying too because he talks the refs
[00:14:42] all game long all game this duties.
[00:14:46] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah to the
[00:14:49] refs.
[00:14:51] But Tatum has however long it takes for victories to
[00:14:59] put a stop to all this.
[00:15:01] So we'll see how that goes more about this series
[00:15:07] and now we're going to get into kind of like what
[00:15:10] we are looking for.
[00:15:12] I wanted to make sure that you guys had pretty a
[00:15:16] pretty good template for your viewing pleasure when
[00:15:21] you watch these finals and the thing that I came
[00:15:24] up with was this to me what it's going to come
[00:15:29] down to is the Tatum buffer insurance that's
[00:15:32] going on.
[00:15:33] So you got Jalen Brown who is the Eastern
[00:15:36] Conference most valuable player.
[00:15:39] He averaged 30 points a game at two steals in that
[00:15:42] series.
[00:15:43] Derek White to me is fantastic when you got a
[00:15:49] guy who really will get to him in a second,
[00:15:55] but Christoph Porzingis that is but when you
[00:15:59] have a guy who truly is like a number four
[00:16:02] option obviously on your team and he can give
[00:16:06] you 18 points and he shoots 8.4 three point
[00:16:11] attempts at a 40 almost a 41% clip.
[00:16:17] I mean that's crazy.
[00:16:20] By the way, Derek White's box plus minus is 6.3
[00:16:26] and that's from a tertiary player.
[00:16:29] You're getting that type of production from like
[00:16:33] your fourth dude and then you toss in Drew
[00:16:37] Holliday.
[00:16:38] You know what I you know, I love Drew Holliday
[00:16:42] consummate professional 61.4% true shooting
[00:16:47] percentage on 10 field goal attempts throughout
[00:16:50] the playoffs and now they're getting Porzingis
[00:16:52] back.
[00:16:53] Now one of the reasons why I kind of fluctuated
[00:17:01] back and forth between who I'm going to pick
[00:17:04] is we have not seen Christoph Porzingis for
[00:17:07] quite some time.
[00:17:08] I think he played what two games in the first
[00:17:12] round and really didn't even complete the second
[00:17:14] game and Cavs are tricky and you just don't
[00:17:21] want a Kevin Durant moment, but they say he's
[00:17:26] full goal.
[00:17:27] He will be starting game one.
[00:17:29] I don't know how much he'll play.
[00:17:31] I don't know if he'll be on a complete minutes
[00:17:35] restriction.
[00:17:37] My guess is that he would be it'll be somewhere
[00:17:40] in between 18 to 22 minutes to go out.
[00:17:45] That means that you're going to have another
[00:17:47] 26 minutes to fill.
[00:17:50] I'm sure for Al Horford who is 38 years of
[00:17:53] age.
[00:17:54] He is looking at this going wait, I'm only
[00:17:57] going to play 26.
[00:17:58] This is a complete vacation from what previously
[00:18:03] I have been going through with the Celtics
[00:18:07] over the Playoff Series.
[00:18:08] So you tie all that up, you know, you tie
[00:18:14] all that up.
[00:18:15] Porzingis is really like the linchpin of
[00:18:17] this situation.
[00:18:19] When you are talking about somebody who is
[00:18:21] willing at 7'3 to go out and shoot 5 plus
[00:18:26] 3 threes a game and shoot it at a high level
[00:18:30] like Kristoff Porzingis is.
[00:18:33] It changes your offense exponentially.
[00:18:37] This is why that Joe Mazzula has turned
[00:18:41] the Celtics into the greatest trigonometry
[00:18:46] problem ever.
[00:18:48] He's literally turned it into math.
[00:18:51] Their whole purpose, their whole goal in any
[00:18:55] game is to shoot 45 plus threes.
[00:19:01] That's the target.
[00:19:03] They feel if they shoot 45 plus threes,
[00:19:07] they're going to win the game.
[00:19:08] Bears out in the numbers, bear it out all
[00:19:11] year.
[00:19:12] This is one of the most historic net ratings
[00:19:15] we've ever seen in basketball history and
[00:19:19] the Celtics have that.
[00:19:21] So those are the key players for the Boston
[00:19:24] Saints.
[00:19:25] All right, so we're going to get into Dallas
[00:19:26] now and basically what we're looking at with
[00:19:29] Dallas is just the Dallas two-step roster
[00:19:33] changes that have been made.
[00:19:36] We got into this in the last part, but it
[00:19:38] bears repeating PJ Washington has come over
[00:19:42] and his willingness and also the freedom
[00:19:45] that he's been given to shoot the threes
[00:19:48] is amazing.
[00:19:49] He's averaging 6.6, three point attempts a
[00:19:53] game.
[00:19:54] He's shooting at a respectable 36.3% clip
[00:19:59] which if you're willing to take them,
[00:20:03] it just helps the offense space the floor
[00:20:06] better and when you have somebody like
[00:20:09] Derrick Lively that becomes very very
[00:20:12] important.
[00:20:13] One of the things that I need to do this
[00:20:17] because I used to get on Nico about this,
[00:20:20] but one of the things that LeBron is going
[00:20:23] to have to do if and I believe this is
[00:20:26] it's over the Anthony Davis three-point
[00:20:30] experiment is over with the Lakers.
[00:20:32] So LeBron is going to have to shoot
[00:20:35] somewhere between 6 to 8 threes a game
[00:20:40] to space the floor to give his team a
[00:20:46] chance to be successful next year, but
[00:20:49] Luka having PJ Washington on this team
[00:20:53] and his ability to shoot the three
[00:20:55] and then being able to switch on to
[00:20:57] smaller players or larger players depending
[00:21:00] on the matchup.
[00:21:03] Also being able to provide rebounds
[00:21:05] and rim protection.
[00:21:07] He has been an absolute find and steal.
[00:21:12] We gave Nico Harrison his flowers in the
[00:21:17] last pot.
[00:21:18] It bears mentioning again that he had a
[00:21:23] close personal relationship with PJ Washington
[00:21:27] and knew that he was from the Dallas
[00:21:31] area and it was his dream to play for
[00:21:34] the Mavericks.
[00:21:35] So salutes to Nico Harrison pivoting on
[00:21:39] the Grant Williams situation that
[00:21:42] obviously wasn't working internally.
[00:21:45] Whether there was some sort of social
[00:21:49] aspect or you know, whatever team
[00:21:52] philosophy aspect or whatever it was
[00:21:55] they pivoted.
[00:21:57] They pivoted quickly.
[00:21:58] They identify what they actually needed.
[00:22:01] They got it and now PJ Washington is
[00:22:04] really one of the key parts of what
[00:22:09] their game plan is.
[00:22:10] If he continues to hit the three at this
[00:22:13] level, they are going to be hard to stop.
[00:22:16] Now PJ has not been this guy throughout
[00:22:20] his career.
[00:22:22] So as far as the volume is concerned
[00:22:26] for real and also the numbers as far
[00:22:29] as shooting the three.
[00:22:31] So I'm really interested to see how
[00:22:36] this all plays out and meanwhile the
[00:22:39] other thing keep in mind the Celtics
[00:22:43] are the best team in the NBA as far
[00:22:49] as the percentage of that corner short
[00:22:53] that short corner three.
[00:22:56] So teams have a hard time shooting it
[00:22:59] against them because of their length
[00:23:02] and because of their quickness of their
[00:23:03] wings and then also they're just not
[00:23:06] letting them shoot it.
[00:23:08] So we also need to get to Derrick Lively.
[00:23:12] We kind of spoke about him a little
[00:23:14] bit earlier, but I want to go ahead
[00:23:15] and talk about this dude real quick.
[00:23:19] Two things.
[00:23:21] He doesn't miss my guy.
[00:23:25] We talked about it earlier.
[00:23:26] He hit all his field goals in the
[00:23:28] Western Conference Finals.
[00:23:30] Now here's the here's the stat that
[00:23:32] I want to bring up to people.
[00:23:37] Derrick Lively is a plus 2.3 in
[00:23:43] defensive box plus minus for the playoffs.
[00:23:48] He's also averaging 7.2 rebounds
[00:23:52] a game 1.2 blocks a game and also
[00:23:56] really underrated 1.6 assists a game
[00:24:01] as well.
[00:24:02] He is a really good passer and I'm
[00:24:07] going to tell you right now at Duke.
[00:24:09] We didn't see this at all.
[00:24:12] We didn't think that he was going
[00:24:13] to be able to move this way when
[00:24:15] scouting him last year.
[00:24:19] He was really to tell you truth.
[00:24:21] I thought he was an albatross
[00:24:23] until late in the season when
[00:24:25] they finally found a way to work
[00:24:28] our zone and allow him to roam
[00:24:30] in the middle of the paint.
[00:24:32] And block shots and be effective
[00:24:33] as a rim protector for Duke.
[00:24:35] So to see him go in to a situation
[00:24:41] his rookie year right mind you
[00:24:44] with also all the personal things
[00:24:46] that are going on and you know
[00:24:49] our condolences go out to his
[00:24:51] family and you know his mom passing
[00:24:55] and everything like that man.
[00:24:57] That's that's terrible.
[00:24:58] My mom passed away like a year ago.
[00:25:00] So I definitely understand the
[00:25:03] sting.
[00:25:05] I'm honestly a lot older.
[00:25:09] So I have a lot more years with
[00:25:10] my mother than he did with his
[00:25:12] so he's playing with a heavy
[00:25:14] heart and it looks like he is
[00:25:16] trying to finish the job.
[00:25:20] So we want to give him his
[00:25:22] flower.
[00:25:23] The other guy that I want to
[00:25:24] talk about and this is one of
[00:25:26] the things that I want to bring
[00:25:28] up as we get into the off
[00:25:31] season as we start ramping up
[00:25:34] rumors and we start talking about
[00:25:37] oh how this dude is going to
[00:25:39] fit on this team and how it's
[00:25:41] going to change dynamically.
[00:25:44] I want to again, reiterate what
[00:25:47] LeBron James said on the
[00:25:49] Mind the Game podcast.
[00:25:55] Role players are essential to
[00:25:59] winning a championship.
[00:26:02] Derrick Jones Jr.
[00:26:04] was a minimal sign.
[00:26:07] Anybody could have had
[00:26:10] Derrick Jones Jr.
[00:26:12] 2.7 million a year.
[00:26:15] That's all it took.
[00:26:17] It's all it took 2.7
[00:26:20] and you could have had this
[00:26:22] 6667 Wayne who is annoying
[00:26:27] as hell.
[00:26:28] He's taking 3.1, 3.10 a game.
[00:26:32] He's shooting at 39.6%.
[00:26:36] The defense is suffocating.
[00:26:38] He's completely annoying.
[00:26:40] Oh by the way, he's blocking
[00:26:41] 1.1 shots a game.
[00:26:43] He's blocking shots as well.
[00:26:48] And again, here's a guy who
[00:26:52] you know they played around.
[00:26:54] I remember starting the
[00:26:55] playoffs.
[00:26:56] I was talking about what was
[00:26:57] going to be the wing roulette
[00:27:02] for the Dallas Mavericks and
[00:27:03] that was going to make a
[00:27:05] difference on how far they
[00:27:06] were going to go in the
[00:27:07] playoffs.
[00:27:07] One of the reasons I think
[00:27:10] we were worried about them
[00:27:11] against the Clippers was who
[00:27:13] was going to step up and
[00:27:15] provide production for them.
[00:27:18] And it's turned out that
[00:27:19] Derrick Jones Jr.
[00:27:21] has been staring us in the
[00:27:22] face all along, right?
[00:27:26] Shouts out to him.
[00:27:29] Again, it shouts out to
[00:27:30] Nico Harrison on this situation
[00:27:32] as well.
[00:27:33] The other person that we need
[00:27:35] to bring up is Daniel Gafford.
[00:27:38] Shouts out to our Arkansas
[00:27:40] guy.
[00:27:42] 1.8 blocks per game.
[00:27:45] And so I'm going to do this
[00:27:48] for you guys.
[00:27:49] So these three guys all
[00:27:50] together, they are averaging
[00:27:52] 4.1 blocks per game and
[00:27:55] they're also averaging 16.7
[00:27:57] rebounds a game between the
[00:27:59] three of them.
[00:28:01] That is production
[00:28:04] at the highest level when
[00:28:05] you are talking about role
[00:28:07] players, understanding your
[00:28:08] role, understanding what
[00:28:12] your job is and executing
[00:28:14] your job to the level where
[00:28:17] you have your team in the
[00:28:19] NBA Finals.
[00:28:20] Congratulations to Jason Kidd,
[00:28:23] that coaching staff,
[00:28:25] Michael Finley and
[00:28:29] Nico Harrison and that whole
[00:28:30] crew over there at Dallas.
[00:28:32] They have really done their
[00:28:35] thing.
[00:28:35] I was very skeptical when
[00:28:39] they made these trades
[00:28:40] because I was like they
[00:28:41] have left the barn
[00:28:44] completely open and it is
[00:28:46] there.
[00:28:47] Nobody guarded it.
[00:28:50] There was nothing in that
[00:28:51] barn because they had just
[00:28:53] gave everything away.
[00:28:54] You want the hay?
[00:28:55] Here you go.
[00:28:57] You need some tools?
[00:28:59] Here you go.
[00:29:00] We got a tractor.
[00:29:01] You want that too?
[00:29:03] They gave everything away
[00:29:05] and it has worked out in
[00:29:08] spades for them.
[00:29:09] So again, these are the
[00:29:12] key players in the series.
[00:29:16] We talked about them.
[00:29:18] Now I'm going to put in a
[00:29:20] last-minute audible.
[00:29:23] Maxi Kleba did play in the
[00:29:25] Western Conference Finals.
[00:29:27] Now, I don't know if that
[00:29:29] was a preview to him playing
[00:29:31] fully in the NBA Finals,
[00:29:35] but if Maxi Kleba can come
[00:29:37] back,
[00:29:39] it really changes the series
[00:29:41] because it gives Dallas
[00:29:43] another look that they didn't
[00:29:47] previously have.
[00:29:48] He can stretch the floor.
[00:29:51] He's a guy that you could,
[00:29:53] if you wanted to,
[00:29:54] you could run a death lineup
[00:29:57] and put him at center
[00:29:59] and then have the Lucas
[00:30:01] and you know,
[00:30:03] and you know,
[00:30:03] Daryl Jones is going board.
[00:30:06] So if you wanted to go small
[00:30:08] and match the Celtics,
[00:30:09] you could do that as well.
[00:30:12] Yeah, Maxi Kleba.
[00:30:14] Also, short corner three
[00:30:17] assassin like over 40,
[00:30:20] 41% on the short corners.
[00:30:24] So those are the guys that
[00:30:26] we need to talk about.
[00:30:27] We talked about Kyrie,
[00:30:28] talked about Luka,
[00:30:29] talked about all the
[00:30:30] role players will have you.
[00:30:32] Now we need to get it to
[00:30:33] the coaches, right?
[00:30:35] Because that's where
[00:30:36] that's where the money is
[00:30:37] made my guys.
[00:30:39] That's when the money is
[00:30:40] made.
[00:30:42] We talked about on our last
[00:30:43] pot.
[00:30:44] So if you are new to the
[00:30:45] loop, I welcome.
[00:30:47] Thank you for joining us
[00:30:48] for the first time.
[00:30:49] We are excited that
[00:30:51] you are here.
[00:30:52] But if you have no idea
[00:30:55] about what the hell
[00:30:56] I'm talking about when
[00:30:57] it comes to
[00:31:01] coaching and how important
[00:31:02] is and who got paid
[00:31:05] Ty Lou got paid.
[00:31:07] 14 million annually.
[00:31:09] So
[00:31:11] love that for him.
[00:31:12] Now let's get to this
[00:31:14] coaching matchup Jason
[00:31:16] kid Joe Mozilla.
[00:31:19] Now
[00:31:21] Hooper vote versus
[00:31:24] video guy.
[00:31:26] That's really not fair
[00:31:27] to Joe Mozilla.
[00:31:28] He played at West Virginia.
[00:31:31] So he did play some
[00:31:32] he did play some ball.
[00:31:34] He obviously wasn't
[00:31:35] really an NBA player.
[00:31:37] So
[00:31:38] understand that but
[00:31:40] Jason kid obviously Hall
[00:31:42] of Famer point guard
[00:31:44] awesome.
[00:31:46] We we know about the
[00:31:47] exploits.
[00:31:48] We know about the
[00:31:49] championship.
[00:31:50] We know about going
[00:31:51] to the championships
[00:31:52] on multiple occasions.
[00:31:53] So Jason kid Hooper
[00:31:56] and
[00:31:58] Joe Mozilla video guy.
[00:32:00] Now
[00:32:02] here's the thing
[00:32:04] Jason kid
[00:32:05] has feel
[00:32:07] an instinct.
[00:32:10] Again,
[00:32:11] I want to give credit
[00:32:12] to Jason kid about
[00:32:14] Derek Jones Jr.
[00:32:15] because they were
[00:32:16] running out Tim
[00:32:17] Hardaway.
[00:32:18] They run out Dante
[00:32:20] Axon who did get a little
[00:32:21] burn
[00:32:22] you know in the
[00:32:23] Western Conference Finals
[00:32:24] and also on the playoffs
[00:32:26] in general.
[00:32:27] Then
[00:32:29] there was
[00:32:30] the
[00:32:31] we had Dante Axon
[00:32:32] Tim Hardaway Jr.
[00:32:34] Oh Josh Green
[00:32:36] notice how
[00:32:38] as Derek Jones Jr.
[00:32:40] stepped up
[00:32:42] and they could really
[00:32:43] rely on him to do
[00:32:44] exactly what he needed
[00:32:46] to do.
[00:32:47] And do it expertly.
[00:32:50] They went away.
[00:32:52] Josh Green's minutes
[00:32:53] dwindled.
[00:32:55] Tim Hardaway Jr.
[00:32:56] was not getting any
[00:32:57] minutes whatsoever.
[00:33:00] So
[00:33:02] that's that feel
[00:33:03] and instinct that I'm
[00:33:04] talking about.
[00:33:05] He said,
[00:33:06] okay,
[00:33:06] I'm gonna ride this
[00:33:07] hot hand until I can't
[00:33:08] write it.
[00:33:10] Right?
[00:33:12] And then you have
[00:33:12] Joe Mozilla
[00:33:14] and I told you he
[00:33:14] turned it into a
[00:33:15] math problem.
[00:33:17] He believes that
[00:33:18] if you run the system
[00:33:20] and you run it to
[00:33:21] its optimal form
[00:33:23] you should be able to
[00:33:24] produce
[00:33:25] 45 plus 3's again.
[00:33:28] And
[00:33:29] the way they have
[00:33:31] the shooting
[00:33:32] and have it all
[00:33:33] staggered
[00:33:35] they really don't have
[00:33:36] a weakness
[00:33:37] until you get down
[00:33:38] to guy number
[00:33:39] 8 or 9
[00:33:40] on their roster
[00:33:42] because Al Horher
[00:33:43] can shoot it at a
[00:33:44] decent level.
[00:33:46] You know
[00:33:47] KP can shoot it at a
[00:33:48] decent level.
[00:33:52] Tatum is really the
[00:33:53] only one
[00:33:54] and it's funny
[00:33:55] because
[00:33:58] one of the things
[00:33:58] we kill him on
[00:34:00] is taking a lot of
[00:34:01] 3's.
[00:34:01] He's shooting it
[00:34:02] in the playoffs
[00:34:03] at 29%.
[00:34:05] I think I mentioned
[00:34:05] that early in the
[00:34:06] vibe,
[00:34:06] but if I didn't
[00:34:08] shoot 29%
[00:34:09] in
[00:34:10] the playoffs
[00:34:11] and
[00:34:12] he just keeps
[00:34:13] he uses the shoot down
[00:34:14] and looks super
[00:34:15] confident
[00:34:16] every time he
[00:34:17] takes it.
[00:34:18] Then you got
[00:34:19] Jaylin Brown
[00:34:20] and then you got
[00:34:20] Derek White
[00:34:21] Drew Holiday.
[00:34:21] All of these guys
[00:34:23] are considered
[00:34:24] and also thought of
[00:34:25] by the other
[00:34:26] franchises out there
[00:34:28] as
[00:34:28] good shooters.
[00:34:30] Can't leave these guys.
[00:34:32] Can't leave them
[00:34:33] mokin.
[00:34:33] Got to stay near them
[00:34:34] because they'll
[00:34:35] launch a 3.
[00:34:38] And that
[00:34:39] is what
[00:34:40] Joe Mozilla
[00:34:41] is counting on.
[00:34:42] He has a
[00:34:42] 5-out style.
[00:34:44] We'll see it
[00:34:44] with poor Zingas
[00:34:45] in there.
[00:34:46] He doesn't want
[00:34:47] the lane
[00:34:49] clogged at all.
[00:34:50] He wants to
[00:34:51] be able to
[00:34:51] drive and
[00:34:52] kick and then
[00:34:53] get you into
[00:34:54] the spin cycle.
[00:34:56] Once you're in
[00:34:56] the spin cycle,
[00:34:58] he could mind.
[00:35:01] Drew Holiday
[00:35:02] has played
[00:35:03] in
[00:35:04] a ton
[00:35:05] of playoff games.
[00:35:06] Has a lot.
[00:35:07] He's a veteran
[00:35:08] leader.
[00:35:09] There's not
[00:35:10] too much
[00:35:10] he hasn't seen.
[00:35:11] He's like
[00:35:11] 34 years of
[00:35:12] age.
[00:35:14] Then you got
[00:35:15] Derek White
[00:35:15] who
[00:35:17] honestly is
[00:35:17] considered
[00:35:18] one of the most
[00:35:19] headied
[00:35:19] players in
[00:35:20] the league.
[00:35:22] Then you got
[00:35:23] Jason Tatum
[00:35:25] known for
[00:35:25] his acumen
[00:35:28] or
[00:35:28] exploits.
[00:35:29] Sometimes the
[00:35:30] acumen
[00:35:30] I worry
[00:35:31] about his
[00:35:31] acumen.
[00:35:33] And then
[00:35:33] Jaylen Brown
[00:35:34] who's
[00:35:34] considered also
[00:35:35] one of the
[00:35:35] smartest
[00:35:36] dudes
[00:35:36] ever.
[00:35:38] And then
[00:35:38] KP is
[00:35:39] also
[00:35:39] fundamentally
[00:35:40] sound.
[00:35:42] Once you
[00:35:43] are in
[00:35:43] the spin cycle
[00:35:45] against
[00:35:45] Boston,
[00:35:47] the right
[00:35:47] pass is
[00:35:48] going to
[00:35:48] be made
[00:35:49] by
[00:35:50] the person
[00:35:51] who's
[00:35:51] getting it.
[00:35:52] So if for
[00:35:52] some reason
[00:35:53] they have a
[00:35:54] good shot,
[00:35:54] they are
[00:35:55] going to
[00:35:55] defer
[00:35:56] to look
[00:35:56] for the
[00:35:57] great
[00:35:57] shot.
[00:35:58] They are
[00:35:58] looking
[00:35:59] for
[00:35:59] the
[00:35:59] easiest
[00:36:00] shot
[00:36:00] possible.
[00:36:02] And the
[00:36:02] ball
[00:36:03] moves
[00:36:03] faster
[00:36:04] than
[00:36:04] the person.
[00:36:06] So
[00:36:07] that's
[00:36:07] another
[00:36:07] thing
[00:36:08] that we
[00:36:08] have to
[00:36:08] look at.
[00:36:09] Then
[00:36:09] also
[00:36:10] we can
[00:36:11] look at
[00:36:11] it this
[00:36:11] way.
[00:36:13] Jason
[00:36:13] Kidd
[00:36:15] couple
[00:36:15] stops
[00:36:16] before
[00:36:16] right?
[00:36:17] We
[00:36:17] had
[00:36:17] the
[00:36:18] Milwaukee
[00:36:19] stop.
[00:36:19] We
[00:36:19] had
[00:36:20] the
[00:36:20] Brooklyn
[00:36:20] stop.
[00:36:21] They
[00:36:21] didn't
[00:36:22] go
[00:36:22] well.
[00:36:23] They
[00:36:23] started
[00:36:24] off
[00:36:24] well
[00:36:25] and it
[00:36:26] poorly.
[00:36:27] Even
[00:36:28] though
[00:36:28] he
[00:36:28] has had
[00:36:29] great
[00:36:29] relationships
[00:36:31] with
[00:36:31] like
[00:36:31] Giannis
[00:36:32] and
[00:36:32] others,
[00:36:33] you
[00:36:33] definitely
[00:36:33] can relate
[00:36:34] to the
[00:36:34] stars.
[00:36:35] But
[00:36:36] a lot
[00:36:36] of people
[00:36:37] had
[00:36:38] worries
[00:36:38] about
[00:36:39] what
[00:36:40] the
[00:36:41] actual
[00:36:45] what's
[00:36:45] our
[00:36:45] foundation?
[00:36:46] What's
[00:36:47] our true
[00:36:48] North
[00:36:48] star,
[00:36:49] right?
[00:36:52] It
[00:36:52] didn't
[00:36:53] seem
[00:36:53] like
[00:36:53] there
[00:36:53] was an
[00:36:53] actual
[00:36:54] direction.
[00:36:55] In the first
[00:36:55] couple stops
[00:36:56] with Jason
[00:36:56] Kidd.
[00:36:58] He
[00:36:58] gets on
[00:36:58] the
[00:36:58] Frank
[00:36:59] Vogel
[00:36:59] staff,
[00:36:59] which
[00:37:00] remember
[00:37:01] there was a
[00:37:02] chance
[00:37:02] and an
[00:37:02] opportunity
[00:37:03] for the
[00:37:04] Lakers
[00:37:04] to
[00:37:04] hire
[00:37:05] Jason
[00:37:05] Kidd.
[00:37:06] And
[00:37:06] there
[00:37:06] was a
[00:37:07] split
[00:37:08] within
[00:37:09] the
[00:37:09] Lakers
[00:37:09] organization
[00:37:10] whether
[00:37:11] they
[00:37:11] were
[00:37:11] going
[00:37:11] to
[00:37:11] hire
[00:37:12] Kidd
[00:37:12] as
[00:37:13] the
[00:37:13] head
[00:37:13] coach
[00:37:14] or
[00:37:14] as
[00:37:14] an
[00:37:15] assistant.
[00:37:16] They
[00:37:16] chose
[00:37:16] him
[00:37:17] as
[00:37:17] an
[00:37:17] assistant
[00:37:19] and
[00:37:19] then
[00:37:21] Frank
[00:37:21] Vogel
[00:37:22] became
[00:37:22] the
[00:37:22] coach.
[00:37:24] But
[00:37:24] Jason
[00:37:25] Kidd
[00:37:25] was
[00:37:25] loved
[00:37:26] on
[00:37:26] the
[00:37:26] Lakers
[00:37:26] staff.
[00:37:27] He
[00:37:27] brought
[00:37:28] a lot
[00:37:28] energy.
[00:37:30] He
[00:37:30] seemed
[00:37:30] to have
[00:37:31] had
[00:37:31] the
[00:37:31] ear
[00:37:32] of
[00:37:32] LeBron
[00:37:33] James
[00:37:33] and
[00:37:34] Anthony
[00:37:35] Davis
[00:37:35] as
[00:37:36] well.
[00:37:36] They
[00:37:37] seem
[00:37:37] to be
[00:37:37] able
[00:37:37] to relate
[00:37:38] on
[00:37:39] some
[00:37:39] sort
[00:37:39] of
[00:37:39] crazy
[00:37:40] level
[00:37:40] because
[00:37:42] you're
[00:37:42] talking
[00:37:42] about
[00:37:42] some
[00:37:42] of the
[00:37:43] greats
[00:37:43] in
[00:37:43] the
[00:37:43] game.
[00:37:44] You
[00:37:44] know,
[00:37:45] however
[00:37:45] you
[00:37:55] know,
[00:37:56] I'm
[00:37:56] going to
[00:37:57] sit
[00:37:57] here
[00:37:58] and
[00:38:00] lie
[00:38:00] to
[00:38:00] you.
[00:38:01] But
[00:38:01] he's
[00:38:02] a
[00:38:02] great
[00:38:03] player.
[00:38:03] And
[00:38:03] Jason
[00:38:04] Kidd
[00:38:04] related
[00:38:05] to
[00:38:05] them.
[00:38:06] He
[00:38:06] did
[00:38:07] his
[00:38:07] job
[00:38:08] and
[00:38:08] now
[00:38:09] he
[00:38:09] has
[00:38:10] Luca.
[00:38:10] And
[00:38:11] that's
[00:38:11] his
[00:38:12] job
[00:38:12] there
[00:38:12] is
[00:38:13] to
[00:38:13] relate
[00:38:14] to
[00:38:14] Luca
[00:38:15] and
[00:38:15] convey
[00:38:15] messages
[00:38:16] to
[00:38:16] Luca
[00:38:17] that
[00:38:17] he
[00:38:18] can
[00:38:20] then
[00:38:20] adhere
[00:38:21] to.
[00:38:21] He's
[00:38:22] doing the
[00:38:22] same thing
[00:38:23] with
[00:38:23] Kyrie
[00:38:24] as well.
[00:38:24] And
[00:38:25] then
[00:38:25] Kyrie
[00:38:26] and
[00:38:26] Kidd have
[00:38:27] a different
[00:38:27] kismet
[00:38:27] so
[00:38:27] their
[00:38:28] vision
[00:38:28] of how
[00:38:29] they see
[00:38:29] the game
[00:38:30] is going to
[00:38:31] be even
[00:38:31] more
[00:38:33] symbiotic
[00:38:35] than
[00:38:35] you know,
[00:38:36] and then
[00:38:36] you got
[00:38:37] Luca
[00:38:37] who's
[00:38:38] an absolute
[00:38:38] genius
[00:38:39] and
[00:38:39] that's
[00:38:40] what Jason
[00:38:40] Kidd
[00:38:41] was thought
[00:38:41] of when
[00:38:42] he played.
[00:38:42] So
[00:38:43] you have all
[00:38:43] this kind
[00:38:44] of
[00:38:44] real
[00:38:45] symmetry
[00:38:46] going on
[00:38:47] between
[00:38:47] these three
[00:38:48] these
[00:38:48] really
[00:38:49] ultimately
[00:38:50] talented
[00:38:50] guys
[00:38:51] especially
[00:38:51] when they
[00:38:52] play
[00:38:52] well
[00:38:53] Jason
[00:38:53] Kidd
[00:38:54] when he
[00:38:54] played
[00:38:55] and the guys
[00:38:55] who are playing
[00:38:56] now.
[00:38:56] And
[00:38:57] you see
[00:38:57] that
[00:38:58] between those
[00:38:59] those three
[00:39:00] guys.
[00:39:01] And
[00:39:01] then
[00:39:02] with
[00:39:02] Mozilla
[00:39:03] we know
[00:39:03] how he got his
[00:39:04] job
[00:39:05] right?
[00:39:05] Unfortunate
[00:39:06] situation
[00:39:07] with
[00:39:08] our
[00:39:09] guy
[00:39:10] Emea
[00:39:11] Adoka
[00:39:12] now
[00:39:13] who is
[00:39:14] the
[00:39:15] Houston
[00:39:15] coach.
[00:39:16] The situation
[00:39:17] goes on
[00:39:17] there
[00:39:18] and
[00:39:19] Will
[00:39:20] Hardy
[00:39:20] moves
[00:39:21] on
[00:39:21] to
[00:39:22] Utah
[00:39:24] and
[00:39:25] Joe Mozilla
[00:39:26] is left
[00:39:27] and he gets the job.
[00:39:31] And then you have
[00:39:33] we and we already
[00:39:34] talked about it
[00:39:35] right?
[00:39:36] We already talked about
[00:39:37] what their
[00:39:38] roads were
[00:39:39] to this
[00:39:40] particular
[00:39:41] situation.
[00:39:42] And
[00:39:43] again
[00:39:44] Clippers
[00:39:45] still have
[00:39:46] Paul George
[00:39:47] and James
[00:39:48] Harden.
[00:39:49] Now we
[00:39:50] I can
[00:39:51] I can sit
[00:39:52] here
[00:39:53] and talk about
[00:39:54] James Harden
[00:39:55] and people
[00:39:56] will say
[00:39:57] because I saw
[00:39:58] Magic Johnson's
[00:39:59] first
[00:40:00] rookie
[00:40:01] NBA Finals game.
[00:40:02] That's why
[00:40:03] so I've seen a lot of the greats.
[00:40:04] So
[00:40:05] hopefully as a
[00:40:06] as an old hit
[00:40:07] you know I can gain some respect that way.
[00:40:10] But
[00:40:11] the other thing is
[00:40:12] is that they played against some
[00:40:14] some really good teams
[00:40:15] and they
[00:40:16] knocked them all out.
[00:40:17] Luka was
[00:40:18] impressive
[00:40:19] their team was
[00:40:20] impressive
[00:40:21] and then you have the Celtics who
[00:40:22] went through
[00:40:23] their
[00:40:24] gauntlet
[00:40:25] or lack thereof
[00:40:27] and
[00:40:28] you know
[00:40:29] so they had different roads.
[00:40:31] But now
[00:40:32] now they're here
[00:40:33] and I guess
[00:40:34] we've been waiting all this time
[00:40:36] for a prediction.
[00:40:38] So what I'm going to do
[00:40:39] is I'm going to give you
[00:40:41] my thoughts on who's going to win the series
[00:40:43] and who I think is going to be
[00:40:45] the MVP
[00:40:46] of the series.
[00:40:47] But before I do that
[00:40:50] one of my common beliefs
[00:40:52] is that
[00:40:53] if you are the best player in the series
[00:40:56] you
[00:40:58] she'll win unless some kind of
[00:40:59] ridiculous thing happens.
[00:41:02] Now Luka
[00:41:03] there's no doubt
[00:41:05] the best player in this series
[00:41:07] he is
[00:41:08] now challenging
[00:41:10] I don't know if he's challenging
[00:41:12] Jokic for the best player
[00:41:14] in the league right now.
[00:41:16] But
[00:41:17] y'all can debate that.
[00:41:18] I'm not begging
[00:41:20] passing the torch
[00:41:22] so quickly to people
[00:41:23] I need to see it multiple times
[00:41:25] and Luka's had a great playoff series
[00:41:27] but
[00:41:28] I'd like to see this level
[00:41:30] of Luka
[00:41:31] next year
[00:41:33] and then crown him
[00:41:34] the best player in the league.
[00:41:37] But
[00:41:38] with all that being said
[00:41:40] I think this comes down to Port Zingas
[00:41:44] being healthy.
[00:41:46] And if Port Zingas is healthy
[00:41:49] Boston has way too many options.
[00:41:51] I love Luka
[00:41:55] I love Kyrie
[00:41:56] I think it's going to be a phenomenal series.
[00:41:59] I have Boston in seven
[00:42:02] and my
[00:42:04] finals MVP
[00:42:07] is going to be
[00:42:10] Jalen Brown.
[00:42:12] I'm gonna go with Jalen Brown
[00:42:14] I think they will try to
[00:42:16] try to take Tatum out of the
[00:42:18] offense.
[00:42:20] I don't think they will be able to
[00:42:22] but I think he'll be a facilitator
[00:42:24] I think
[00:42:25] Brown will have a couple of games where he just goes
[00:42:27] nuclear
[00:42:29] and then
[00:42:31] they're going to end up winning
[00:42:33] and he's going to play defense on Luka
[00:42:36] so keep that in mind.
[00:42:38] I believe that Jalen Brown will play a lot of
[00:42:40] defense on Luka Donterz
[00:42:42] I could be completely wrong
[00:42:44] but watching the film
[00:42:46] it looked like that
[00:42:48] Jalen Brown took the toughest assignment
[00:42:51] and Luka would definitely fall
[00:42:53] into that category.
[00:42:55] So that is my prediction.
[00:42:57] Boston Celtics in seven
[00:42:59] as a Laker fan this is one of the
[00:43:01] hardest days of my life
[00:43:03] but I gotta stay true
[00:43:05] to my analyst hat
[00:43:07] that I got on right now
[00:43:09] and I got Boston in seven.
[00:43:12] So that is that.
[00:43:14] Now before we close out the show
[00:43:21] how do I want to say this?
[00:43:25] I don't want to sound
[00:43:27] self-serving at all.
[00:43:31] What I want to say is that
[00:43:34] here at Frontrunner Podcast Collective
[00:43:37] especially now
[00:43:39] it's not just me
[00:43:45] all the time.
[00:43:47] With my producer B Funch
[00:43:50] and Saraya's help
[00:43:53] we are efforting
[00:43:55] every single day
[00:43:57] to provide a good show
[00:44:00] hopefully entertaining
[00:44:02] good information right?
[00:44:04] but hopefully giving you
[00:44:06] a more panoramic view
[00:44:08] of what the league looks like
[00:44:10] and we try to not sugarcoat
[00:44:12] stories.
[00:44:14] Now I will tell you
[00:44:16] that I am not
[00:44:18] in the news breaking game
[00:44:20] I don't think
[00:44:22] that's my goal.
[00:44:24] My goal is to
[00:44:26] hopefully
[00:44:28] provide you with
[00:44:30] information that you
[00:44:32] kind of need to know
[00:44:34] hopefully give you something
[00:44:36] that you didn't know
[00:44:38] and maybe give you
[00:44:40] a sneak behind the curtain
[00:44:42] to the franchise
[00:44:44] that you get down with
[00:44:46] right? That's the goal.
[00:44:48] So when we said
[00:44:50] a couple weeks back
[00:44:52] or actually might have been three weeks ago now
[00:44:54] that JJ Reddick
[00:44:56] is I think it was a throwaway
[00:44:58] line. We were talking about
[00:45:00] Mind the Game and the Lebron
[00:45:02] and JJ Reddick podcast and I said
[00:45:04] that Lebron is probably sitting across
[00:45:06] from
[00:45:08] his next head coach.
[00:45:10] And at that time I had
[00:45:12] some information that I was pretty
[00:45:14] solid on.
[00:45:16] And as of today
[00:45:20] news is
[00:45:22] breaking you know? Shomps
[00:45:24] is coming out saying that
[00:45:26] JJ Reddick is the front runner.
[00:45:28] It's a foregone conclusion that
[00:45:30] JJ Reddick is going to be the new
[00:45:32] Laker head coach. Now
[00:45:34] the reports are out there that
[00:45:36] they are still in
[00:45:38] you know deliberations
[00:45:40] and things of that nature.
[00:45:42] James Borrego was also
[00:45:44] brought in and had an
[00:45:46] extensive interview
[00:45:48] as well. But there's
[00:45:50] a thought that James Borrego might
[00:45:52] actually still end up on the staff
[00:45:54] if he doesn't become head coach
[00:45:56] with the Lakers or
[00:45:58] the Cleveland Cavaliers. So
[00:46:00] with all that being said
[00:46:02] what I would like to say is that
[00:46:04] we work hard
[00:46:06] to get information
[00:46:08] and having this JJ
[00:46:10] Reddick thing pretty much
[00:46:12] before everybody else did
[00:46:14] is a cool feather
[00:46:16] in our cap.
[00:46:18] I want to thank my producer B
[00:46:20] Funch. I want to thank Serea.
[00:46:22] I want to thank my wife
[00:46:24] who puts up with me
[00:46:26] and puts up with all the time
[00:46:28] that it takes to do this.
[00:46:30] And I just want to
[00:46:32] thank my Lord and Savior Jesus
[00:46:34] Christ because without him I can't
[00:46:36] do anything right.
[00:46:38] But
[00:46:40] we do this for you guys.
[00:46:42] So spread the word.
[00:46:44] Now we're not always going to hit
[00:46:46] 100 percent right. We pick
[00:46:48] Minnesota in the Western Conference
[00:46:50] Finals. So we're not bad
[00:46:52] in a thousand here. But it's
[00:46:54] cool when we get
[00:46:56] one right. And we're going to celebrate
[00:46:58] it every once in a while because
[00:47:00] the thing that I always tell you
[00:47:02] about at the end of the show and
